Go for the Honda Pilot.

You have mechanics and parts scattered everywhere and they’re not a nightmare to fix. They have cheap parts compared to the others and also are very reliable compared to the others. They have very good interior spaces and handles the road very well. They have decent fuel economy and have very impressive crash tests scores (they’re very safe)

It is the engine oil (and oil filter) used that determines OCI, not an engine type. Any engine can run extended OCIs provided the right engine oil is used, in this case, M1 Extended Performance.

An engine can determine that in most case. FYI, 1MZ-FE and 3MZ-FE has high tendencies to sludge due to their PCV design.

Congratulations!

Your vehicle needs 5W30 engine oil and, IMO, it might be unnecessary to ask the previous owner what he used. Simply buy an available and good engine oil, that meets that rating and run your change.

Oil change interval is 6 months or 5k miles, whichever is first.

However, you could extend that to 20k miles or a year , whichever is first with fluids such as M1 extended performance (with an accompanying filter for that purpose or you change filters halfway through).

What is the situations of:

1. The coolant reservoir. What is there?
2. How does the tranny fluid look like?
3. The power steering fluid?
4. The spark plugs, coils, throttle body, engine air filter and MAF?

Most Nigerian used vehicles are deficient in this regard, hence this checklist.

Tune up the vehicle, run your fluid changes, and you're sure to enjoy many years of pleasurable, reliable luxury.

Pls, this is highly discouraged. Don’t advice people to run extended OCI on engines which weren’t designed to run such.

Call it whatever you like, but I know this. Modern cars even a small lowly Yaris electrical component isn’t designed to be bypassed let alone a more complex German car with a dozen of modules monitoring and controlling stuffs. Know this and know peace.

My car is fixed. It was a simple security issue. My electrician just bypassed a wire, told me my front Sam is very good and no need to change a thing. Car drives like wizard.

Na so them dey start till the whole electrical system goes haywire or shut down completely leaving you stranded, high and dry or even worse still cause an electrical fire which will make you lose that car.

It’s my mums car. She changed oil and filter as advised by her mechanic. As for fuel pump, she changed it because the car stopped on the road, she called her mechanic and he said it’s fuel pump and changed it and next day, maintenance required light has been blinking once she starts the car.

Turn on the ignition to allow all the instrument panel lift come on, then locate the odometer toggle button and toggle it till Trip A, keep the button pressed down turn off the ignition and then turn on the ignition whilst still holding the odometer button. You should notice series of dashes (- - - - - -) on the odometer when it clears, the odometer should go to (0 0 0 0 0 ) then return the mileage display. This shows you’ve reset the maintenance required warning.

An engine is a mechanical unit that fails most times due to inputs(service history,drive pattern,foreign bodies that found its way into them) and its failure have little to do with aging.
So that's a wrong analogy to even make to justify your point in this case.
How many times you don hear W205 SAM just seize on its own or some similar problems with no known cause?They're still relatively new so things like that will hardly happen,give it time and it'll start all these aging problems like this guy's W204!

More random failures will still happen and I hope his pockets are deep enough to cater for sudden ,reoccurring costly expenses on old ,valueless German cars.

A car power train (engine and transmission) is warrantied to last at least 100,000 miles from manufacturer; But when you have issues with harsh shifting or stalling transmissions piston cracking, breaking, sparkplugs being crushed, turbines breaking and spilling oils, engine short block being busted and ruptured open, crankshaft bearings and others damaged, oil pumps failing and water pumps failing on these supposedly newer cars. And convenience features such as window roller switches, seat adjustment buttons etc getting stuck and working intermittently as if they’ve got a mind of their own in as early as 23,000 miles (from genuine brand new), you claim these are issues to be overlooked or age?
I laugh at these comment of yours.

I’ve seen and driven quite a number of W203, 204, 220,221, 212, 212 and hardly have I noticed such early failures.

Well,I don't know of anyone driving a W205 that's having all these aging problems as you,that should tell you something.
W204,W204 facelift, same cars with the latter just having a few cosmetic difference and in some cases a different engine(M273),same old drivetrain and electricals produced almost same time that have existed long enough to start wearing and tearing.
All boils down to age brotherly.Not insulting or talking down your car but luxury cars do this a lot.
The moneypit syndrome as they age us beginning to show its ugly head,now us the time to dump that car and protect your savings.

It may interest you to know I’ve had to rebuild or replace more than 17 W205 and W213 engines.

Please be guided, some very old luxury cars still perform excellently well abs would outlast a lot of newer cars.

I drive a c200 kompressor, honestly I love it, faster, well balanced than a Camry talk more of corolla, but there are things you must avoid if you want to enjoy your car, never give your car to trial and error mechanic, get some knowledge of your car fuse box( Sam), avoid washing your engine bay with carwash guys, simply use brush and a rag, also keep to regular oil maintenance.

Remember number one, avoid kazeem, I learnt the hard way oo, my catalyst stolen, my thermostat remove....

No need to lie to validate something. If in doubt, go try out pacing a 2005 Camry V6. I won’t bring in the SE variant or even the 2007-date Camry models to this discuss.
