What recent repairs or service have you done on the car?
Also I'm confused on engine oil to use, this is because when the car arrived Nigeria October last year, it was serviced in Lagos before delivery.
It's almost due for service now @30% & 4k+km since last serviced. I know the recommended oil is SAE5w20 but I don't know whether it's the recommended oil that was used in servicing the car. I reached the mechanics that service it but they don't seem to remember.
This is where my fear is: if the vehicle was serviced with maybe 5w30 and I now use 5w20 will it give me issues.
Freshflow001: I really appreciate all your advices and opinions, from what I have gathered, is that Nissan Xtrail is far more cheaper to maintain than Fx35. And that's is what I'm really going to consider 8n making my choice. Thanks so much all and stay blessed.
If I were in your shoes, I'd go for the FX35.
It's more rugged than that Xtrail. The engine in that xtrail is 2.0 Mr20DE which is very much underpowered plus its prone to crankshaft and camshaft sensor failure than any other engine in the Nissan/Infiniti line up.
The FX is also very balanced and more upscale. Yet its design was ahead of its time.
In conclusion, that FX is the best value for money.
skj1377: Use a star scanner to remove the 210km electronic limiter. That way you can drive to 250km. I noticed your RPM was above 4000 @ 210kmh that means your car probably is not a 7 speed gear box or some issue not making it shift. With my car at cruising speed ( not accelerating) the rpm is less than 2800 at close to 250kph. No engine noise no vibration I call it no "drama"

skj1377: Let me check for pix on my old phone. "I don't buy v8 Benz for nothing" If I Dont find i will snap new pic the next time I have the road available in front of me and I remember.
You asserted a V6 turbo diesel had that engine speed at a certain speed.
Even a V8 Na will rev higher than that at 250km/h.
No de feed us with lies, alot of us drive cars for a living and also for the fun of it. Besides, this is a public forum. Easy pls.
markpenk: Happy new year fellas. Been a silent follower of this thread for a while now. You guys do life-saving work here. Thanks.
Now, I have a small issue. My 09 accord's brakes feel somewhat soft/spongy. That's the only way to describe it. So, you basically have to "plan ahead" before braking. if you need to brake suddenly, you might have to floor the brakes.
I was the mechanic yesterday, and the said mechanic explained that there was something wrong with the master (I'd recently changed the brake pads so it wasn't that). He worked on it/fixed it yesterday, and even though the brakes feel slightly better, they're still not as responsive/solid as, say, an '05 accord's brakes. What could be the problem? I'd appreciate your help and insights. Thanks

chyket: The 2008 forerunner has the same engine with fjcruiser and from my own experience, it's very sensitive and fragile. I replaced my fj engine in 2018 and it cost me about 800k and it must be over a million naira currently. You will need to service it as at when due and with the right engine oil to enjoy the vehicle.I really don't know much about the Highlander 07 performance.
You never talk wetin damage your engine you come dey lie for Toyota.

May I inform you that engine is one very robust and rugged and very reliable engine. I have they've been known to exceed 500k miles without a sungle issue.
Please i need recommendations for a solid car. I am currently driving a 2018 Mitsubishi outlander which I've had for 2 years now. A friend of mine who's into auto dealership shipped it for me from the US. Said it had good fuel economy, double back sitter, blah, blah blah. The car is okay but doesn't have the features I want so I want to give the car to my mum & get a new car.
I like keyless cars or cars u can start with a remote; cars u can operate the boot with a key or button (my Mitshibushi doesn't have that). I like cars that lock automatically on matching the brake (my Mitshibushi doesn't have that feature too). Leather seat trips me (my Mitshibushi doesn't have leather seat). I love Cars with good sound system & GPS; back 360 degree camera; blindspot & close range sensor. I hate going to the Mechanic so I won't like to own a car that always have electrical, mechanical or leg problems. Since I got this Mitsubishi, I've only changed oil & 2 front tyres so far.
PS: B4 u start questioning my source of income;I must tell u that some of us women are doing well for ourselves & are real legit hustlers, joined with favor from God our creator. I have a govt job, do contracts & also own a successful business. I started a real estate company sometime in 2018 (don't ask me how) but this is our best year so far amiss COVID. I'd like a more presentable & durable car cos I drive around alot with prospective clients & families.
Pls don't refer me to range rover, Bently, Ferrari or G-wagon. I'm not a celebrity. I labour so hard for my money but also like good things.
Warning: Please no useless comments. If u have nothing to contribute, read & pass. This question is not for kids on NL.

P0300 cylinder misfire detected
P0550 power steering / pressure sensor P0328 knock sensor 1, circuit high bank 1 or single sensor, P2127 Throttle / pedal position sensor , switchEcircuit low In a lay man language pls advice
Solve P0300, P0328, P2127
They're the most probable cause of the high fuel consumption. You need a technician knowledgeable about these vehicles to be able to solve them. However, they're not too hard to solve
Please after fixing my steering rack and pump my horn stopped working, I have tested it and the relay it works perfectly. But it's not working when I press the horn from the steering. Also the SRS alarm is on. Please what can I do. It's a lexus rx300 2000 model
The mechanic didn't lock the steering wheel prior to removal of steering rack. You'd need to purchase a steering wheel clockspring.
Warning: only qualified technician should install this component and it should be done after your steering and front wheels have been properly aligned.
