You need to check engine gasket integrity after carrying out the things I told you and changing oil and filter by carrying out leak test (it’s a test used to check for coolant Escape and gasket issue)

Nigerians in general are suffering from hyperinflation but nobody cares. Price of items keeps going up while salary remains constant. People now use their 3-5 months salary to pay as rent. In gwarimpa. A selfcon is between 900k-1m. How many Nigerians earn 500k monthly? Lol how many can even boast of 200k saved in their accounts at any point in time? We’re joking in this country.

I believe you shouldn’t use more than 2 months salary to pay rent.

Invest in a land as cheap as possible even if it is in a rural area. You can lease it to someone to farm on if you are not financially buoyant to start building.

You also don’t have to wait till you have millions to build, start a little project such as a 2 bedroom, you will never regret it

Hello house. I use a c230 benz 2007 model. A rewire did some work on the car and forgot to replace the fan switch (the fan works direct by the way not auto) and I didn’t notice also. I was actually very distracted and drove the car for some hours before I noticed the fan isn’t working and temp stat had gotten to 100... I immediately turned it off and allowed it cool and fixed the fan switch. But few days after this incident I started noticing milky oil in my water tank, at first it was little and then it became much and I was worried. Yesterday I decided to check the engine oil gauge and I saw it was well below minimum. This is my first Mercedes car and I am confused as to what to do... I have parked the car for now... I don’t trust the mechanic I have been using so I guess what I need is what the solution to this problem is and any reputable benz mechanic that can help fix this in Kaduna. Thank you as I await your kind responses...

Replace the oil cooler, flush the radiator and cooling system entirely with detergent and water several times to rid the system of any oily milkshake.

I just hope your gaskets isn’t blown. You need to run a leak test though.

Hello, i have an honda pilot, the engine block is leaking around the block wall facing the pipe that takes coolant to the engine,

i contacted a mechanic that used Rocket glue to patch it but it is still leaking badly

somene said i should try an alunmium welder to weld it, is that recommendable and can they weld it without bringing the engine down

what do you advise

I don’t know what to advise because I haven’t seen or assessed the block to know what’s happening sir.

Just yesterday, i noticed if i drive it in the morning, it picks well but after about 3km to 4kmof driving, it starts to struggle to move till it stops moving. Condensate coming out of the engine during warm up isn’t a sign of a healthy engine. You could keep driving the engine and topping, or have the engine rebuilt or even replaced. The choice is between you and your mechanic after carefully weighting the pros and cons and carefully checking what needs to be done to your current engine if it’s worth the risk repairing.

Camry xv70 and earth dreams engines are way cheaper than those of the sonata 2015. And yes 2.0t of those years are still defective very very defective.

The year you are buying doesn't have GDI complaint, other complaint are manageable and can be resolved. It's the 2011 to 14 model years that had engine complaint.

Dey play, e get GDI issues too. Engine is over 2m now in Abuja.

Cost of engine parts is also similar.
For body parts, just insure comprehensively with Leadway or AXA so the cost won't be on you.

These are the cause of the leak:
1. Sunroof drainage may be clogged,
2. Roof may had been crushed in an accident and was not fixed properly,
3. Windshield might have been replaced in the past and was not properly done.

I just joined this part of nairaland as I'm planning to go into car market.

I have a V-boot that for most of the past 5 years I've had it, I drive it twice or thrice a month, 30-50km on average and it's in top shape.

I only changed the battery I bought in 2018 last year. Total maintenance expenditure in 5 years is probably 100k and I do most things myself -- I don't have a mechanic. Only major work done that was a must was water pump change, which existed before I bought the car. One kick start till date, the record was after parking for 12 days straight! I changed the fuel accumulator today which was compromising that one-kick start of late. Price: 2k.

I understand recent cars are made to expire after a while (planned obsolescence). So to each his own
