You don't have any thing in common with rhem, but IPOB and MASSOB included their region as part of Biafra. Now we know the Igbos have selfish hidden agenda concerning Niger Delta minorities.

that is in your own imagination. We are not expecting everybody to be in support of Biafra in SS. Also in SE. It's normal to have different opinions. Not all Britons supported BREXIT. Not all fulanis and Hausas supported and voted Buhari.

So it's normal. The majority want Biafra and that is what I want. Why are you afonjas so scared. You will stay with the HausaFulani, and practice your religion in the fullest

More over, not all SS are qualified to be part of Biafra. People like the Urhobos and Benin are definitely not part of Biafra. You don't have anything to worry about. When you hear Afonja on Nairaland, know yet that those tribes are part of Afonja.
From the tune of your write-up we know you are Igbo masquerading as Ogoni. I'm not surprised any way; that is IPOB's usual trade mark.

There is nothing like SS,the region is made up of different ethnic groups, that term just came from Obasanjo regime,I pity any SS tribe that will vote to remain in Nigeria during the referendum, they will just be wiped out as the fulanis are doing in middle belt and southern kaduna, dont think that this ethnic groups are not wise,Niger delta republic may not work out because of lack of cooperation between Ijaws,Isoko,Urhobo,Binis,Efik,Ibibios etc,if they unify they can form a republic. For now Biafra is the best option for them where they will have a bargaining power
If a Republic of Niger Delta where all the people as minorities can checkmate themselves will not work out, is it joining Biafra where about 85% of the population will be Igbo that will work out? You can't trick us this cheap! Try harder next time. I'm Urhobo-Isoko, and we have made our stance on Biafra known to you Igbo people already. However, we are not against a Biafra with a 100% homogeneous Igbo population that will also include the Igboid tribes of South-South.

Our political leaders are just plainly stupid.

For how long to we use force to stabilize prices of goods and services rather than allowing the law of demand and supply to control the market since we are are capitalist and not socialist economy.

If the prices of food stuffs are reduced what bout the prices of inputs and raw materials?
May be you did not understand the situation in the state. The market unions don't even allow traders who want to sell their goods at cheaper rate to sell at all. The unions determine the prices and force all members to abide by it, and if you are not a member you wont be allowed to sell in the markets.

This is democracy.
I learnt that yorubas are of the most educated tribe in Nigeria but my sadness is why they are openly supporting this blooding sucking northerner especially here on Nairaland.
Let me just believe that certificate is not common sense.
How prepared are you to defend your land in the event they carried out their threat? Where are your stoke-piles of war weapons? Is there any organised military arm of IPOB and MASSOB strong enough to defend Igbo land? Mind you, these Northern Islamic Fundamentalists have since sent forth their foot-soldiers in the name of Fulani Herdsmen [their dependable collaborators to implement their Islamic and political agenda in the South]. They [Herdsmen] have already penetrated all parts of the South, and have since taken defensive and attack positions throughout our bushes, forests and farmlands. You should know that all those herdsmen attacks in the South are not just ordinary, but may be part of their grand agenda to test the strength and capability of our people to defend their lands in event of launch of their grand warfare plans from d North on a set day. And that "grin day" may be this recent ultimatum given the Igbo people. I just pity the South who claim to know but are so ignorant and unprepared. The day this people launch their grand plans, it may not take them months before they subdue the whole south [not just Igbo land] because their secret foot soldiers [Fulani Herdsmen] have already taken over the forests of the South well armed. Yet the South is still unprepared militarily. Mind you, these illiterate barbaric Northern Elements are not ready to support any referendum neither do they want any restructuring of Nigeria. They feel okay with their medieval archaic way of life and the slow pace of development. So don't even dream that one day there will be such referendum in Nigeria except by force by the demanding side. Virtually, the only way for any region to pull out is by force. These Northerners understand very well the cowardice of Southerners and their fear of war, and as such they are capitalizing on it to dominate the South. That explains why every time Southerners call for restructuring of the country, all the Northerners do to keep the South in check is to threaten war and "coward Southerners" will actually chicken out. Sorry to say this, Southerners [Yorubas, Igbos, Edoid group, Efik/Ibibios, with probable exception of Ijaws] are just a bunch of disunited educated noise makers with no action! For your information, I'm not calling for war, rather I pray for peace. If all parts of the country can agree with one another to live in peace and unity, Nigeria will be very great and prosperous. We have the resources.

CultureRe: The Origin Of Urhobo People by Kirigidi(m): 5:55pm On Jun 05, 2017
Sanchez01:
ScionofUrhobo, these are very difficult to take in and truth be told, the whole thing seems unbelievable. The history of the Urhobos have from time immemorial being a debate as their are four postulations concerning this same thing

The first is that the Urhobos are the original dwellers and owners of their territory who have been living in their territories from time immemorial. (I find this unbelievable because migration would have happened and that would best explain the similarity between ours and some Edoid groups.)

The second tradition is that the Urhobos left Edo at the end of the Ogiso dynasty in search of more peaceful locations as a result of “cruelty, animosity and tyranny” which pushed them out of the Benin kingdom. (This is most likely to be)

The third tradition is that the Urhobos migrated from Ile-Ife in Yorubaland. (This is not in any way correct. Benin is tied to Ilé-Ifẹ̀. It best supports the idea that we stemmed from Edo, but from Ilé-Ifẹ̀? I don't think so.)

The fourth is that the Urhobos migrated from
Sudan and Egypt. (This is already discussed extensively, all thanks for you. However, I don't think this is true in any way.)

Besides, night in Urhobo is ASO, and not ASUN.
Urhobo migrated from "AKA" not "EDO". At the time Urhobo left, the Kingdom and land of the Ogisos was then known as "AKA". The terms "EDO" and "BENIN" are recent names which came into use only after the collapse of the Ogiso Dynasty and the subsequent emergence of the Oba Dynasty. The collapse of the "OGISO DYNASTY" and its replacement with "OBA DYNASTY" brought a change of name from "AKA" to "EDO". In fact, the name EDO was believed to have been introduced by Oba Ewuare the Great to immortalized a certain servant who saved his life during his struggle to ascend the Benin royal throne.

Don't say what you don't know! Even nearby Liberia has fought two civil wars yet Liberia still remain one country. The first civil war was fought during the reign of Samuel Doe in the early 1990s, while the second civil war was staged during the regime of Charles Taylor in the early 2000s. That second war ended only when Charles Taylor was given asylum in Nigeria as part of the peace deal. Even DR Congo has fought several civil wars since independence in the 1960s, and up to date they are still looking for permanent peace. So get your fact right before coming online.

"Guinea" is a "Latin/Portuguese/Spanish" word meaning, "Evergreen Forest/Vegetation". It is a common "name" the early European Explorers used to call coast lands having thick "tropical rain forests" as found in West Africa and Islands in the Pacific Ocean. As a result, there are today about four [4] countries in the world using or bearing the name "GUINEA", and three [3] of these countries are in Africa [Two in West Africa and one in Central Africa]. They are "Republic of Guinea" [i.e. French Guinea or Guinea Conakry], "Republic of Guinea Bissau" [Portuguese Guinea], "Republic of Equatorial Guinea" [Spanish Guinea] and "Republic of Papua New Guinea" [located in the Pacific Ocean close to Australia].

CultureRe: The Edos & The Children Of Israel - Born Of The Same Father! by Kirigidi(m):
MetaPhysical:
What were the precussor events to the collapse?
The collapse of the "Ogiso Dynasty" of the ancient "Aka Kingdom" was brought about by two major factors, namely: [1] Succession disputes among stakeholders, and [2] Distrust among the diverse inhabitants of the kingdom. Remember! The leadership structure of the "Ogiso Dynasty" was quite different from that of the later established "Oba Dynasty". In the Oba Dynasty, succession to the throne is by inheritance by the first son of the last Oba, while during the Ogiso era, succession to the royal throne is majorly by seniority and competence. In addition, the Ogiso kingship position was often rotated among the different quarters/ people that make up the kingdom. Among these different stakeholders who make up the Aka Kingdom in the ancient past and among whom the headship of the Ogiso throne is rotated are the Urhobo-Isokos, the Ishans, the Ikas [Agbor] and the aboriginal Akas [ancestors of the Binis]. It may interest you to know that the migration of many of the Urhobo-Isoko clans to their present locations took place during the Ogiso era between 700AD and 980AD when the ancient kingdom was still known as "AKA", and several of these migrations were triggered by succession disputes and disagreement with neighbors. The Ogiso era migration explains why my people [the Urhobo-Isoko] are more conversant and familiar with the history of the Ogisos and ancient Aka kingdom than they are with the later established Oba dynasty and Benin kingdom. This is because by the time the Oba Dynasty was introduced, the ancestors of many of the Urhobo-Isoko clans have already left AKA KINGDOM to settle in the Delta region. In short up til date, the Urhobo-Isoko still call the Binis who inherited the land, the ancient name "AKA" [note that the name AKA mainly refers to the land ruled by the OGISO and it's used as name for any present day inhabitants of the land]. The later name "Benin" sometimes sounds strange to my people when mentioned because my much of our ancestors have left that territory before the change of the name from "AKA" to "BENIN". Urhobo-Isoko history and folklore are always full of stories of the hale days/ glory of the Ogiso era, but only little about the Oba era. It is worthy of note that the Urhobo-Isoko were major and active stakeholders in the government of the Ogisos, and some of these Ogisos were in fact Urhobo-Isoko in origin. One of such Urhobo-Isoko born Ogisos was "Ogiso Ere" who was later deposed and migrated with his followers to establish the Urhobo kingdom of Ughelli in about the 9th century. Another was "Ogiso Ekpuigho". In summary, succession disputes were frequent during the Ogiso Dynasty as different quarters claimed rights to the throne whenever a new Ogiso is to be crowned, and such disputes sometimes resulted in civil unrests and crises during which dissatisfied stakeholders fled or migrated out to form new settlements elsewhere. Such series of succession and distrust among Udo inhabitants came to a breaking point following the death of the last Ogiso of Aka Kingdom called "Owodo" whose only surviving male child "Ekaladerhan" was banished from Udo the capital and later found himself in Ile-Ife. And as such, different parties battled for the vacant throne. This created a sort of civil war scenario leading to mass exodus of peoples from the kingdom particularly from the capital "Udo". As a result, there was an interregnum which signaled the final collapse of the Ogiso Dynasty and subsequent emergence of the Oba Dynasty. Remember that even after the establishment of the Oba Dynasty at Igodomigodo [Benin City],the people of Udo [the former capital of the defunct AKA Kingdom] for several centuries refused to acknowledge, accept or recognize the over-lordship and authority of the Obas and continue to crowned their own separate kings until Udo land was later conquered during the reign of one of the powerful Obas.

@Bolded,that's not so,Chief Negro. The Igbos,Onitsha to be specific address themselves as Onicha Ado na Idu.
You've already explained it! "Onicha Ado na Idu", translated in Edo language, simply mean "Onicha the Edo [Ado] of Benin [Idu]". This is a common appellation of self-hailing/ praise among peoples who migrated from the ancient lands of the OGISOS [present day Benin Kingdom]. For example, my town in Urhoboland used to hail themselves as "Ukori Edo ne Ubini", meaning "Ukori, the Edos of Benin". Know that the Ijaws, Yorubas and some other tribes call the Binis [Edo] "ADO". Also remember that the ancient kingdom of the Ogisos was known as AKA KINGDOM, and the capital was at UDO. IDU might be Igbos corrupt pronunciation of the name UDO, which was the capital of the Ogisos and where people of diverse origin converged under the protection and overlordship of the Ogiso kings. The present BENIN CITY which was at that time known as IGODOMIGODO was just an auxiliary settlement. The collapse of the Ogiso Dynasty triggered massive change of names; OGISO title was changed to OBA title, OGIDOMIGODO was renamed BENIN, capital of the kingdom was transferred from UDO to BENIN CITY, and the Empire's name was changed from AKA to EDO.
