Security Contractors can become big business in Nigeria. All Nigeria has to do is register all would be security outfit and their personnel before issue them with license to bear arms. The Security Industry can absorb more than 10 Million unemployed youths in Nigeria. Can you imagine a Pastor hiring 5 Gun Toting Security personnel for his service knowing the tithes and offering are bounty-full enough to sustain such service, I guess even Almanjeris would apply to be Security personnel guiding a Church if the Salaries are mouth watering. Imagine paying UN-employed youths N300 per hour, not a lot of money by internatinal standard but quite a bit in Nigeria especially for un-employed youths. We Should revamp our Security Industry in Nigeria. ![]() http://industry-icon.com/blog/tag/force-protection/ |
A Ghanaian man I once worked with in London told me a story of bravado by some Nigerians in S.A. when there was an anti-immigration uproar against other Africans in S.A. BY THE Local Blacks. The Zulus would descend on the Zims, and other Africans beating them to a pulp, but on one occasion they try to bridge a neighbourhood that had a lot of Nigerians especially the Igbo drug dealers(no offence intended) and they welcomed the Zulus by releasing many rounds and volleys of AK47 BULLETS making the Zulus to retreat unceremoniously, never to return and venture towards where the Nigerians were, quite impressive I must say. ![]() He said this Nigerians were so rascally that at times they engaged the law enforcement officers in gun fights(can u imagine fighting policemen you an immigrant). ![]() This story started making me to re-evaluate our security procedures in Nigeria, If Nigerians can defend their Interest in a foreign land, why can't they do same in their own country. if a Southerner or even a Northerner(probably a cattle seller in the south) is a good citizen, has a good job or business that is identifiable that person or business should have the right to bear arms and defend one's business or interest wherever one is. I mean the Authorities cannot be at every place at the same time(certainly not in Nigeria where the law enforcement agencies are more less comatose), so it makes sense for clergy men, business men, traders in the North and South to bear arms for self defence purposes. Have we ever wondered why Americans have a right to bear arms? has anyone thought of it? Well, the reasons was because during westward movement of the settlers in the Eastern Seaboard, in those days, there was no law westward, it was an open country with a lot of hostile Red Indians and wilderbeast roaming all over the Prairies, people had to defend themselves and their homestead, making this old age tradition become part of the fabric of that society today. I would support any motion where Traders, Businessmen, Clergymen and others with Identifiable source of income the universal right to bear arms and self defend themselves. Bearing arms helps stave and upheld any infringement that might ensue from a gun duel whilst the other people call the relevant law enforcement agencies to the rescue and secondly if a would be assassin knows most of his targets have arms he/she would think twice b4 embarking on that suicide mission. |
Speaking English is definitely NOT a standard for judging literacy or educational levels of a society. I believe in having good knowledge and command of whatever language, including English, but it is not the most important. People speak Chinese, Japanese, French, etc and are just as educated and bright!True to that, but we must not lose sight that this people in Southern African can still speak their various mother tongue adequately making them highly impressionable and knowledgeable when compared to Japanese or Chinese who are extremely useless when it comes to learning other peoples language. ![]() |
A friend of my noticed when he went to Kenya that even the poor are very good English speakers, he said in one of the hotels he stayed the Gardner expressed himself in impeccable English he was stunned. I know Zimbabweans are good English speakers too, even the down and trodden, you see them express themselves explicitly in front of the cameras when given harrowing tales of the economic woes and hardship they are going through. This kind of down and trodden people in Naija "go just dey nack pidgin dey go" .Just an Observation! it seems the % accredicted to Kenya and Zimbabwe are justifiable. ![]() |
Comments from a Cameroonian blog, the cameroonians are confident of their security apparatus, and they give me the impression that they would not give Boko Haram a breather unlike in Niaja where some of our security personnel and top politicians including judges have sympathy for Boko Haram and are urging them on in their nefarious act. Quite a good insight into other peoples view. Well, I hear Nigerians generally fear the gendarmes. Where are the gendarmes when we need them? Posted By : ftroit ftroit | Jan 4 2012 what a situition. Posted By : lusikisiki | Jan 4 2012 They know that if they try that rubbish in Cameroon, then they will taste the wrath of our Gendarmes. Worst even, we now have RAPID, which will not spare kicking them in the Bottom. Also Cameroonian's will not allow themselves to be killed for anything, so nobody will listen to Boko Harams rubbish. Posted By : Duke A | Jan 5 2012 A warning to our authorities, they should know that a spade in time saves nine. |

Let us get back to the ABC or the real meaning of d word "Police" to police something is to look after, monitor, supervise something, going by this simplistic definition it is clear our Police Force has failed in her Primary role, so why pay them, it is like paying a Doctor in d Hospital after he/she down tools. The Nigerian Police Force is not suit for the porpose it was established, hence some critical thinking must ensue as to the way forward. ![]() |
In Western countries to commit a crime in a small town would be your greatest undoing, because d local force would swoop on you b4 you say jackie stone. Local forced tend to know the local hoodlums and once a stranger is amongst their midst d Police Chief gets to know that some unsavoury elements are in town and a tag would be on them overtly and covertly. |
What is d point having police stations in small towns. And as far as I know most small towns have at least 2 police Station yet crime fighting and detection is almost non existence. So why pay these men in black!! |
I don't think we have a Police Force in Nigeria, how on God's earth are Boko Haram operatives able to go into a church and openly spray the attendants with bullets, in a fire fight which would have lasted a good 5 or 10 minutes and yet d local Police was no where to be found, in these days of GSM or mobile technology. Of what use is this technology to us, I sometimes wonder, it would appear our Police Force performances over the ensuing years have actually nose-dived. Let us be Frank with ourselves this is an unacceptable behaviour moreso in a small town like Mubi, and Yola being a capital city one would expect it to have a more formidable police formation than your average small town. The lack of critical Police formation in the small towns does not excuse d massacre in Mubi, a town in Adamawa state the length and breadth of d whole town cannot be more than 10 square km. Are we saying police officers in this small town cannot get to an incidence in less than 5 minutes in this backwater, we are not talking of travelling from Lekki to Ikeja oh!!!! na wa oh, which kind NO Police Force be this, I can't get my head round this gross dereliction of duty leading to avoidable and wanton debauchery of our innocent citizens, or are the Police in cahoot of this mayhem, because Nigerians need explanation oh ![]() |
Ethnic cleasing is what is going on in most of those areas. Sooner States like Adamawa , Plateu, Bauchi would be having 95% Muslims if this cold culling is not stooped. |

With a signature of 100,000 people or is it 50,000 any constituency can call their House of Reps member and their Senators. I would urge all Nigerians to embark on this exercise irrespective of state or party affiliations, LET US RECALL THEM ALL. That would be the first step in fighting corruption and stop the military from dabbling into politics. The Constitution has provided a robust remedy in times of turbulence, chaos and anarchy, and I think the time has come to exercise this God given right and thankfully constitutional right. ![]() The people contrary to a general and perceived believe are the last bastion that determines who holds sway in the polity. The Politicians need to be reminded that the people hold the political might in the body polity and not them in the houses of Assembly. They should also be reprimanded and informed, that power, as sweet, enticing, and intoxicating as it is, is very, very, transient albeit vague, it is wholly an incendiary that can be withdrawn at any-time by the people. We shall send in new House Members to the House of Assembly who are prepared to take a no holds bar N3 Million a year as the total emolument as an Assembly man. The Government on her part shall provide living quarters for the Reps men and Senators with a full audit inventory taken once a would be member moves into the Flats/Houses. If for any reasons when the Assembly MAN OR WOMAN moves out of the Flats/Houses and the inventory compiled in that exercise does not tally with what was captured in the initial exercise the Senator or Reps man would be liable for the short-fall. This should be our priority and not oil subsidy protest. Our protestation should be geared towards those mouth watering largesse our elected officials have carved out for themselves rather than oil subsidy, which if withdrawn would most likely only end up benefiting those few oil oligarchs that have always milked us dry. Thats my 2 cent!! ![]() |
The Black hole in this regime happened during the more than 18 months of the incapacitation of Yaradua, those who assumed the rostrum illegally after the President’s demise stole with impunity, Turai the Queen bee of that illegal regime and her co- thieves of Bagdad unleashed a flagrancy never seen b4, on his assumption as the helmsman of the country, Joeboy swept all those unpardonable theft under the carpet, that is why this administration is mute on how $50 Billion of reserve funds was spent. We should also not forget the high spending stakes of the PDP Primaries when money was spent as if it was going out of fashion, even a cold blooded Killer Senator(after committing his dastardly act) from Oyo State was ferried to Abuja in a Presidential Jet so that he can deliver Oyo delegate votes to Jonathan. Jonathan and his crew have blood in their hands. |
Diesel mechanic are hard to come by in Naija, Had issues with my Diesel Mitsubishi L200 some years back due to mechanic palava.Nigerian Mechanics would adapt fast if it becomes the trend. There is no fundermental difference betweeen Diesel and Petrol engines other than fuel types. If you are good at one, you can always learn the intricacies of the other without much ado. Gone are the days when u cannot start a diesel engine on a cold start almost immedietely, now you can start them without waiting for 10 or 20 seconds after putting-in the ignition key. @Seina, yeah Renault CLio 1.5 DCI are really good, I currently drive one to work covering 50 miles a day. The car is basically for work, I don't use it for any other thing. |
@Siena, Thanks for that professional and holistic view, overall Nigerians should start casting an eye at diesel engine cars because they are more than the future. Do you know that a full tank of BMW 320 Diesel would give you close to 600 miles or 750 km(my boss use to use of those) that is like going from Lagos to Ibadan almost 5.5 times without buying fuel, whao I can supply all your Peugeot 407, 406, 307, 308 Diesel at very competetive price. |
there's a thread like this:: titled "what song you addicted to right now" i thinkWhere is the link to that one, moreover ‘best’ is different from ‘addicted’ by best you like the sound, the flow of it and it gives you a soothing feeling. But Addicted you are just crazy about the song irrespective of your emotional needs or requirements at the time, it is a shot-gun feeling and approach to a song that fizzles out with time. ![]() |
The Pesident spent like a drunken sailor to get re-elected hence why he propose a one term 7 year for future Preisdents. |
not just bring in diesel cars but as well as the competence to maintain itTrue to that, I know diesel cars need more servicing time than petrol cars. A Petrol Car can go 12,000 miles without servicing, but diesel cars have to be service every 6,000 0r 7,000 miles, to keep it in top form. But then labour is cheap in Naija, your mechanic can wash your plugs with petrol and you can re-use them, same can be done with oil filter and other parts. In Naija we have our ways, we can always adapt to our own needs, we cannot follow oyinbo like mumu servicing every 6,000 miles. I still think on the long run these modern diesel engines are as good as any petrol engine out there and the owners of Diesel Cars would be saving loads of money by switching over. |
Obviously music is very fluid, it changes at times by the minute, at times by the hour sometimes by the day while other times it may take week’s b4 another genre or music type overthrows that number one spot in your mind. In a way it is more like a ‘national chart billing one song is number 1 today, tomorrow another is number 1, so ladies and gentlemen what is your best Music today. My has changed several times during the last 2 weeks but today I am dying for Olamide’s Eni Duro – He reminds me of Dagrin, rapping effortlessly in Yoruba/Pidgin/Standard English what a genius. What is your best song Today? |
With this subsidy removal, Nigerians would soon know the benefit of Diesel Cars, the price of Diesel and Petrol are almost the same now, and a N1,000 Naira Petrol would probably burn faster than a N1,000 Diesel. The Diesel would give you more miles per gallon than the average Petrol Car, and more miles per gallon means more value for your money. So if you are doing so many miles or km a day, changing your car from Petrol to Diesel might be one of the options you should be looking at in 2012. Diesel is already ruling the roost in Europe, where every car maker or manufacturers all now have a Diesel variant and the new Diesel engines are nothing like those old ones that make so much noise like cartepiller, today they are super turbo charged Diesels that would give those of you who are speed freaks a run for your money. So it is not all doom and gloom when it comes to Oil Subsidy deregulation, some benefits would surely out of it and come your way. At the moment in Naija, Diesel cars are relatively still cheap due to the previous in-balance at the pumps between the price of Diesel and Petrol but all that is about to change soon, so get on the bandwagon and be amongst the first few who would buy whilst still cheap, GET YOUR Diesel CAR TODAY. NB The poster can supply all your diesel car needs if required. E-mail your car needs to aolugbeniga@yahoo.com- Cheers |
Gra-Gra- stubbornness or unrelenting I particularly like this word derived from d sound a table or chair makes when dragged suddenly out of anger. All these your Gra-Gra we go see where e go carry u go! |
There are reports that restaurants have also sky-rocketed their prices by about 80%. Is this true? How much does it cost a single meal in a restaurant now?Ibadan City in Nigeria use to be the cheapest place to buy for food in Nigeria, a few years ago (roughly about 2 years ago) I visited a buka in Ibadan City, and one poor man entered the buka and asked the mama for 2 wraps of EBA no meat, I was really interested and inquisitive as to know how much it would cost the gentleman. To my surprise the 2 wraps of Eba was N10.00 each, obviously the guy did not eat any meat so he paid only N20.00. The smallest meat in that buka was N100.00 so I can understand the poor chaps plight by not eating meat. If that price is anything to go by, those wraps of Eba would be N20.00 per wrap going by today’s inflationary rate that is still a far cry from the N250.00 quoted by the poster? ![]() |
@mr know all,There are serial Anarchist amongst us, all they are interested in is chaos, anarchy, turbulence, why not put your torch lights on that N1.3 Trillion Naira savings, following the trail of that savings to its logical conclusion instead of allowing our country to be subsidizing the whole West Africa. I am disappointed at people like Falana, I would hope people would soon not label him a ‘Serial protester’ good, bad or ugly they would always protest. occupy and torch every govt offices, torch every refuelling station belonging to the cabal since jonathan is scared of themI have said you are a bloooooody anarchist, your type needs some proper accidental discharged bullet in that phocking brain of yours!!! ![]() |
YOU ARE FOOLThe man is saying the truth, when u have cheap petrol you can bargain it with anything, even in some extreme cases, you could be allowed to sleep with a man’s wife for ‘black Gold’ how much more obtaining a few Kalashnikov and RPG for black Gold, this is one commodity that makes the world go ga-ga.!!! ![]() |
Where did he make the initial statement, was it face book. Some people had better wacted themselves if they want to let their hair down and howl abuses at any ethnic group whilst remaing anonymous, surely the best place for such misdemenour would be NL but doing it in Facebook or any authenticated web site is really dumb. ![]() |

Oil Subsidy, the fact is “we are subsidising West-Africa Nations”, not only Nigeria, people should see through these sentiments. If we are planning not now, probably in the future, to have economic integration with ‘WA Nations’ we have to be selling our Petroleum Products, goods, and services at competitive rates, that is at the same rate across board otherwise we would be doomed as a nation like Greece. Subsidising every country from Benin Republic in our immediate West of Nigeria, to Mauritania in the far North West of West Africa is a suicidal pact with the devil which we should shy and run away from no matter the hardship. Monkey dey work baboon dey chop!!! ![]() |
