At Musiwa, I have suggested something similar in the past, but our goverment are too dumb. https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-819843.0.html#msg9713838https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-819843.0.html#msg9713838 |
Since Jonathan have said we are not ripe for state Police, we can mid-wife what we have got at moment with an elected state commissioner of police, elected by the people and sacked by the people if there is an upsurge in crime or any other nefarious activity in the state. |
State Commissioner of Police can be elected on a zero party basis, voted in more for their ability and capability than their party. |
It is when the rigger or the incumbent in most cases eats into opposition votes, whilst given little or nothing, or better still negligible votes to the opposition in his stronghold. That is, areas where the opposition is strong, the incumbent gets between 25 to 35% of the votes, in most instances as much as 40% of the votes JUST the way our Uncle Joe got 40% votes in Kano, Sokoto, Borno States during the last elections whilst still retaining overwhelming votes in his core areas. (Bayelsa, Imo, Enugu, Anambra and Ebonyi) Example of Scientific Rigging in practise. An imaginary State has 1000 people and 10 LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREAS, the LG areas all have equal population basically it would mean 100 people by LG. The Opposition has 5 strong LG AREAS, WHILE the Incumbent has 5. Scientific voting purports that the incumbent must get at least 40% of the opposition’s vote in the opposition’s strong area. That would be, 40+40+40+40+40= 200 votes for incumbent.(Reminds me of Uncle clearing 40% and more in so many Northern States.) In the Incumbent’s strong area the incumbent gets 98+97+99.6+95+99=488.6 votes(Reminds me of Bayelsa, Enugu, Ebonyi, Anambra, Abia and Imo States) Add total incumbent vote together = 488.6+200 = 688.6 out of 1000 votes thereby making the incumbent the winner by winning over 60% of the total votes. Oppostion figure is as thus 60+60+60+60+60=300 votes at opposition’s strong area And 2+3+0.4+5+1= 11.4 votes(this voting pattern reminds me of Buhari’s vote in the East) Add that to the opposition’s strong area votes 11.4+300 = 311.4 votes |
Obasanjo, Atiku unite for Nyako’s re-election campaignI am still at awe that PDP won in Kogi State, now a 57-man committee to elect Nyako has been inaugurated in Adamawa State headed by Sambo, my instinct is telling me that the strategy employed by Sambo is garnered from a script used b4, probably by his Boss, for Sambo to have any hope in hell becoming President he needs enough PDP Governors on sit come 2015, with that achieved, manipulation of results would be easier for Sambo since these Governors would be doing his bidding and one good turn of course deserves another if anything. Obviously you rob my back, and I rob your back. My gut feeling is, that was what happened in Kogi State recently. Having said that, Was Audu, the A-CN Gubernatorial candidate even electable, was he not more of a liability than an asset to any Party, I think the AC-N got it wrong, since the man’s first stint at the helms of affairs was a washout and nothing to write home about, why gamble on him. I think the electorates in Kogi State were caught between the deep blue sea and the devil with the kind of choices they had in the last election. That the broom party actually brought in 159,000 votes for such a derelict candidate as Audu is a testimonial the people were yearning for change but had the wrong man. If only A-CN had fielded a more dynamic candidate that could have tilted the balance, but I would hopefully expect INEC to at least release a comprehensive result of the elections. I do not doubt the results but a comprehensive result would let all sleeping dogs lie. ![]() |
At least with a comprehensive result broken down and emanating from the ward levels upwards people would be able to discern and know whether the elections in Kogi was free and fair. INEC cannot just come out and announced results of an election without given us a total breakdown of how they arrived at the figure. Was the figures picked from the air, so to allay the fears of rational people INEC should do the right thing by releasing a comprehensive breakdown of all results in Kogi State, that way people would know their results have not being tampered with in the collation centres. So INEC we are waiting for you. ![]() |
. You are tempted to think that Dubai is a country. It’s not; it is an emirate (state) within the United Arab Emirates. This is the main Key of the article, Cities like Lagos with her Eko Atlantic City, Port Harcourt with her oil Industry and Calabar with her Tinapa should be able to borrow a leaf from Dubai’s ingeniousness at re-inventing herself, coming out of the yoke of the UAE Federal Government and push for WORLDWIDE appeal for her State institutions that would enhance the State in the eyes of the world rather than treating herself as a subordinate to a beleaguered FG. They should internationalize their appeal even if it is within the African continent. |
When your party wins an election there are always job for the boys. Former Governors, Deputy Govs , Ministers, Deputy Ministers and Directors in both Federal and state parastatals within the PDP family of State would all be considered for appointments if they lost out in their various states. Look at the primary election commitee that determined Gov Silva's fate. Former Deputy Governor of Ekiti State was one of the panels, she would not do the hatchet job without being paid a fee. There is more to a general elections that most people think. And I must say this, that is how it is played in western nations too. |
Well saidIt is true now, our over paid House of Assembly members just want to dance to the gallery by annoying Western donour nations with a non-issue. No G-A-Y either with the law in place now or when there was no law in place would dear flout their romantic exigencies in the face of Nigerians without getting the beating of their lives, so why making laws over a non-issue. ![]() This Senate have enough on their plate but chose to go for a non-issue, what a bunch of clowns. We have State creation issues going back to 8 years now still in the in-tray of the senate without no headway, we have the PIB bill for the oil industry, we even have Jonathan's dumb idea of a single term all awaiting for their attention but they chose a non-issue. ![]() |
It is good Nigeria as a nation has chosen to uphold God’s retribution against Sodomy by entrenching, enforcing and instilling anti Sodomy laws into our statutory books. Great I must say, but we must remember as a Nation we cannot pick and choose which laws in the Old Testament are palatable to our society whilst ignoring or dumbing down penalties given to perpetuators of blatant corruption, embezzlement and misappropriation in our high offices. After all if we have a zero tolerance on corruption in our society and the fines on corruption are as stringent as those who fall foul of our sodomy laws many of the countries in Africa and in Nigeria in particular would not have to go cap in hands for one aide or the other from Western Donors. Although Nigeria is not a wholesome receiver of aides from Western nations even at that with all the money we make from oil our infrastructural outlook is nothing to write home about due to wanton corruption in the country. We need to keep our own house clean and tidy before taken the higher moral ground, even the so called Sodomist nations of the West have a wonderful society where everything seems to work, at times I wonder if God were to initiate and reprimand retributive action once again which society would feel the brunt the more, is it going to be the Sodomist West or the irrevocable corrupt and embezzling nations in African, one solace the Sodomist Western nations have over many African nations are, those participating in this heinous act of Same-sex cop-ulati-on and marriage are less than 5% of the society, can the same be said of most African nations, I think I would beg to differ on this. |
http://passthepolicetest.com/swat-team-requirements/how-to-become-a-s-w-a-t-team-member-advise-on-requirements-and-salary Why Can't we have a proper- Anti-Robbery Squad in Nigeria. The spate of Armed Robbery around the country is becoming un-becoming and an embarassment if not an affront to many Nigerians both at home and abroad. Unemployed youths today brazenly storm Banks randomly and wantonly without any fear in the world, sometimes sepnding close to 2 hours on an operation without any form or presence of law enforcement agents coming to the rescure of the poor Bankers and citenzenry caught up in the melee. What kind of country would knowingly continue to treat her hard working workers with such disdain ignoring their plight, hardship and incessant harrasment which in most cases culiminates in unwarranted death. Are these Politicians for real. Are the PDP led Federal Goverment for real, Is Jonthan for real, is the IGP for real. Can Jonathan tell me one simple reason he is not a failure with all this kind of insecurity all over the country. ![]() |
The Travails of the Sarakis at attempting to run for the Presidency. I think it is safe to say no Kwaran would ever smell Aso Rock let alone occupying it. Governor Bukola Saraki’s attempt at ruling this country suffers the same fate like that of his father because of his identity crisis but ironically, he fails to learn from history. In 1983, Dr. Olusola Saraki made a frantic effort to contest for the presidency on the platform of the defunct National Party of Nigeria (NPN) but was told that the incumbent President Shehu Shagari was to go for second term but he was not satisfied because President Shagari was a reluctant candidate. The fallout of the power game led to a grand conspiracy and discrimination against the elder Saraki, which led him to seek a political asylum with the Unity Party of Nigeria (UPN). To take his pound of flesh from the NPN, he directed his supporters to vote for the UPN’s gubernatorial candidate Senator C. O. Adebayo. Another attempt was made by him under the Social Democratic Party but had to chicken out for a more formidable power blocs formed by the late Chief M. K. O. Abiola and late Gen. Shehu Yar’Adua. Again, in 1998 when the presidency was zoned to the southwest to compensate for the injustice done to Chief M. K. O. Abiola, Dr. Saraki attempted the APP ticket but got disappointed by the northern cabal in the party who preferred to go into alliance with the AD for the 1999 presidential elections. How else does Dr. Olusola Saraki want to be told that he has overstayed is welcome in the north? If your religion cannot change you, then change your religion. |
I always surprise that how can somebody has moniker of "KnowAll" and write 'all this kind of things around'Na u know, just tell your Governors to stop wearing that silly cap, it dosen't make them more Hausa than the Hausa man. The Hausas knows how many pickin them get and the Yoruba Kwaran people are not included. But for political expediency they would always come calling, and when they have got what they wanted they disapper into the thin air. ![]() |
The husband, Mr. Obioma, who was by her side as she narrated her experience said immediately they got to Ubani Ibeku, close to Uzuakoli, she sneezed seven times and started making efforts to sit aright from her lying position. The Story cannot be a lie. If one contact the driver of the vehicle he would clarify issues. According to the story the drive nearly took off but had to be calmed down by the husband of the deceased. |
Let us face reality here; there are only 3 zones in Nigeria 1. South Western Nigeria –Edo, Kogi, Kwara, Ondo, ogun, oshun, Lagos, Delta and Oyo States 2. South Eastern Nigeria, All states East of the Niger River and below the Benue River to the North. That would include all former Eastern region States and Benue State. 3. Northern Nigeria – All States above the Rivers Niger and Benue Rivers. Unfortunately States like Niger and Plateau are Northern States and they should learn to live with the Hausa/Fulani. Sikena |
The Igbos on this thread are hell bent on separating Kwara Yoruba's from their kit and kin in the SW. No Presidential Candidate from another zone or bloc, would ever get elected once a powerful, more stronger and resolute bloc called or termed as " the Real South-Western zone of the country coming together as one bloc" which would consists of every state from Kogi, Kwara, Edo and Delta to the traditional Yoruba ones of Ondo,Lagos,Osun, Oyo and Ogun. The 25 million people in Lagos alone is an added advantage to this bloc, when add to the other states population, it would give a would be Presidential Candidate an enormous thrust which can be as much as over 55% of the voting populace. Whoever is endorsed in this bloc would have a 90% chance of clinching a Presidential race. This strategy could be Nigerian's answer to the US New England endorsement Primaries where whoever comes out on top as the Prime Candidate has won the battle half way.The wrongs of the Colonialist needs to be corrected. |
glory be to God for this miracle. athiest take note and give yourlives to God b4 it is too late. |
It sure sounds incredible, but it is real. A 36-year-old woman has resurrected in Uzuakoli, on the outskirts of Umuahia, the capital of Abia State, after spending 11 days in a Lagos mortuary. The woman, Mrs. Charity Chigoziri Ikechukwu Obioma, a member of Cherubim and Seraphim Church, Uzuakoli, reportedly died in Lagos after undergoing a heart operation. She came back to life few kilometres to Uzuakoli, her hometown, while she was being conveyed home for burial. The reporter learnt that she spent ten days inside the morgue, after which her husband and his friends decided to take her home for burial. But a few kilometres to her home she was said to have sneezed seven times and sat up inside the stretcher. Expectedly, the driver, her husband and the friend who were with her in the Toyota Siena van that was bringing her back home were gripped by fear. Mrs. Obioma who spoke to newsmen at the branch of the church where she worshipped, said all she could remember was that a man whose face she could not see was taking her from one place to the other, showing her things and complaining to her of the evil doings of the people of the world. She said that before then, the man took her to a theatre where she was operated upon and all the ailments in heart removed before taking her around. Special Senior Apostle Emma Agomuo, The Chairman of Umuahia Province of Eternal Sacred Order of Cherubim and Seraphim Church, with headquarters at Eze Ogbulafor Street, was at the Uzuakoli branch of the Church when Mrs. Obioma was giving her testimony to the Church leaders. “This is the great miracle of God, it is real,” she said. “The lady that is sitting directly before me now and the husband are the people that the miracle happened to. When they told me that she died, I felt very bad, and said ok, because of her commitment to the things of God, the best thing I can do for her is to come myself and give her a befitting burial. Since I know her activities here on earth, I knew that if she had died, she must make heaven. Just yesterday, somebody called me from London, that she heard that a miracle happened in my church in Umuahia, and this morning another person called also and I say that I must come here myself.” Mrs. Obioma then narrated how she died and resurrected: “I have always said it: I don’t know what really happened to me. When I was taken to the hospital, I don’t know. The hospital where I was taken to I don’t know. All I can remember is that there was a time that somebody gave me his hand; somebody whose face I could not see. He was in a white robe. He took me away and has been taking me from one place to another, spiritually and physically. “During this period, there were people I visited physically. Those people can attest to it now. I went to them in the dream, gave them instructions and told them what to do. There were people I went to physically who saw me and shook hands with me. These people can attest to it. And I gave them messages . By then, some people knew that I was dead, but those particular people I went to did not know that I had died. “I was going for lectures on daily basis from the man that was taking me around. It was on different subjects and he told me that I should not withhold whatever he was telling me to the people of the world. “He told me that one of the things that makes him angry is that people of the world, including me, don’t pay tithes and that so many married men run after other people’s wives and many married women run after other people’s husbands. He said Satan uses this to boast before him that my people are disobedient to me. These are two out of many things that he told me. “Before I went for the operation, I had a dream and told my husband that God has never told me lies before, that even if I did not come out of the operation immediately, he should always trust God that he would do the best. I told my mother the same and asked them to put me into prayers, and they did. “When they were discussing about buying a casket to bring me back, I told them that I didn’t want to be in a casket and that they should not bring me back in a casket. I said they should bring me home like that and deposit me in a mortuary of their choice and wait for the day of my burial if God so wished it. The wonderful thing they did for me was keeping my instructions. “As they were coming back on the day that would have made it the 11th day, they never knew what happened and I cannot say what happened. I was using my hand trying to open my eyes, making frantic efforts until I got it opened. The people were expecting my corpse that day, but I returned as a living being. I was really impressed because I never knew that so many people loved me that much. They only saw me alive instead of my corpse. “Before that he took me to a particular hospital, where you can find any equipment you can talk about. He loosed every stitch on me because I was told that I went in there with bandages and plasters on my chest, showing wounds of the operation that made me to die. But the man loosed them and told me that he wanted my whole body to be without a scar, but that for people to believe my story, he was going to leave a scar, showing where my chest was opened up for the surgery. But every other thing he did, he did it perfectly and now I am very strong. “Before I went in for the surgery, I told my husband that God told me that I am going to come back. I said no matter the circumstances you find me, don’t ever be afraid or loose hope that I had died. Even if you people bury me, I know that God has never lied to me before and that he must fulfil that which he has promised. The decision of my husband not to embalm me must have arisen from the faith I expressed to him before I went in for the operation.” The husband, Mr. Obioma, who was by her side as she narrated her experience said immediately they got to Ubani Ibeku, close to Uzuakoli, she sneezed seven times and started making efforts to sit aright from her lying position. Hear him: “The driver of the Siena bus that carried us, a Yoruba man became afraid. I told him to concentrate and not to be afraid because God was in charge. “I refused to obtain a dead certificate when they confirmed her dead because I knew that she was not dead. God has never spoken and lied. Since she had told me that I shouldn’t use a casket for her, I refused to talk about a death certificate. All along we were in prayers and the messages we were getting was that God wanted to use her to show the world what they had not seen before. Based on the message, I told them that she should not be embalmed based on the words she came to tell me in my dream and the revelation from the prophets I gave her name to for prayers. “She was not embalmed and she did not show any sign of decay. The first revelation I got came from one Prophet Maduka from Isuikwuato. He called me very early in the morning and told me that God said that he wanted to use my wife, Charity to show the world what they had never seen, and that even if she was dead, that he was going to resurrect her. You know, I was looking at one, two or three days, but when she stayed for the fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh day, I became troubled as a human being. It was at that point that I picked up the courage to call the father and told him that I was like a sheep without a shepherd and we still continued the prayer. “What surprised me was that she came to my dream and wished me happy birthday. But because I was troubled, I didn’t even know that that day was my birthday. She told me that she would come to celebrate my birthday with me. Immediately I woke up, I called my friend who was by me and told him the dream I had. It is that human nature that made me to say, let me bring her home so that we can deposit her in the mortuary here, close to the village and meet the family officially and tell them what has happened. “On getting to Ubani Ibeku, where they want to relocate the Umuahia Modern Market, she sneezed seven times, opened her eyes and was looking like someone whose eyes were covered. In my mind, I started reciting Psalm 24, and she sat up. I called that Daddy on phone because he had earlier told me that we should take her straight to the mortuary. So I told the Daddy that we were coming straight home, that something had just happened which was very, very strange to me and that I could not explain it. Then we drove straight to the compound, and as we drove into the compound, I looked at the crowd and I couldn’t hold myself. I broke down and started crying and I didn’t even know when my friend who was by me brought her out. I was just crying.” |
@KnowAll, as a Northerner, let me tell you that Northerners have never rejected Illorin people. Illorin has been culturally part of the North for hundreds of years while still remaining Yoruba. The cap you are talking about is not a Hausa cap. It's a cap worn across the North. In fact the best makers of that cap are found in Borno and not in Hausaland.WHAT is all these lecture? Are there no Muslims in the SW. I beg, your strategy to continue enslaving the Kwarans has been exposed and it is time the people wake up and know we are in Nigeria of 2011 and not Dan Fodio's conquered empire of the 1830's |
The thing is the Kwara Governors should reflect the mix in the state and in their societies not wearing only Hausa cap all the time as if it is an executive fiat they must. If a British Prime Minister start wearing Agbada na no go think say the man don't dey craze. But this Kwara Governors are Yoruba men for crying out loud, even Bukola Saraki cannot speak Hausa, so why all this copy-copy now, the thing no make sense at all. |
WHoever thought JEG this strategy just promise heaven and Earth and the people would keep quite for 9 months, then when it gets to 9 months make another superlative and sumptious promise, and the people would once again fall for the same spell, afterall why would the people doubt the President. Who is the person collect $100 per gallon on our oil and we are producing roughly 2 million barrels a day, that no be small dough. Mr President's word is like an unwritten law each time he makes those fake promises. Mr President should know this strategy get limit, people go soon 'soji'(wake-up) oh. ![]() |
It seems you are out of your senses, how can you say "silly kwarans". That is silly of you. Moreover, what your business in how they dress. Why don't you attack other southern governors that don't dress like yoruba or igbo. Pls, grow upNot necessary Kwarans becos the majority of them dress like other Yorubas, but their Governors have being seriously brain-washed. Show me a picture of Bukola Saraki dressing like a proper Yoruba man throughout his 8 years in power. |
That is why it would be difficult to feel Buhari's big boot if he eventually steps down from Politics. How can an African Minister whose Salary is nothing to write home about send his daughter abroad to attain all those degrees, on his Father's meagre wage. I don't think that is possible. Most of the CPC Lieutenants are all opportunist except Bakare. ![]() |
I don't care what names they bear, but they should dress accordingly. There are muslims in China, Malaysia and Indonosia these people are chinese first, Malay first and Indonisia fist b4 their religion comes into it. These stuuuupiiid Kwarans should realise they are Yoruba first. In fact a city like Ibadan and even Isale Eko has more Muslims than christains and these people still recognise themselves as " Yoruba". All these nincompoop ruling Kwara State should wake up and smell the coffee. ![]() |
What is happening in Kogi State is a pointer as to how Yorubas would be treated in the middlebelt and the North as a whole. All Governors nominated for all the major parties in Kogi are Igalas, the front runners in the current race taken place in December are all Igalas. |
I sorry for naija future o! With this chicken brain, narrow minded and myopic tread. How does that disturb your head? Fad and politic - where is the connectionThe fact of the matter is Kwaran Yoruba should start to align themselves with the Yoruba’s in the SW, because the Northerners would never choose them for any serious political post AHEAD of a proper core Northerner. And when it comes to choosing someone from the middle-belt for a serious post, the other middle-belters would rally round a person from the Beroms, Tiv or Igala tribe rather than a Yoruba from Ilorin. |
Politics, you do anything that enhances your chances, shey? Muslim names are not hausa names. All the Governors in Kwara State are running amongst their own people who happen to be 85% Yoruba’s, no need to dey camouflage into Hausa cap. They are not running for Presidency. |
You are a no brainer. This is a no time for your rubbish. At times you Igbo people should use your brains, I have no grudge against the Ikemba, but I sense a desperation either by his wards or the wife to discard him off the sooner the better(were they not already fighting for his Ikoyi Property). All these Crocodile tears are not it at all, that is a fact. The old man was withdrawn from a private hospital in London because of cost and put in a NHS Hospital, I beg are they saying the Nigerian Government cannot foot the bill of the Ikemba in a private Hospital. I beg make we hear word jooor. |
This woman should grieve privately and quietly, all this crocodile tears is not it. I beg make she spear us, God knows whether her purported philandering na im kill the old man sef. A good lesson for a lot of old men with young wives. Love no reach vegetative state oh, the moment you are indispose the woman go waka. ![]() |
