Why? This man physically assaulted and humiliated a young lady !!! What he did is despicable and I hope he pays for it every way possible. Alas, what is the chance of GEJ's own personal 'prayer warrior' facing any sanction in a nation where the President, politicians and pastors like Oyedepo are demigods? This are one of the few things that can back fire on a pastor. What they fail to realise is that there Churches are no more that corner Church underneath the bridge in one corner of Bariga, where serious ‘koboko’ is used in exorcising exercise. Once you have called in the Global TV Cameras into your services, you must be in your best behaviour otherwise what are accepted as norm in many churches all over Nigeria would be exposed for what they really are. Oyedepo can continue is impunity as you say, but first switch off the cameras. This is a clear case of eating your cake and having it, Mr Pastor? ![]() |
Of course that is a criminal offence,he can go to jail for that. That is a vivid proof of child abuse and it is the primary duty of the state to take it up. Unless child abuse is not illegal nigeria, like so many other vices,ie,corruption, paedophileaBankole never go jail for stealing 89 Billion, na owner of the best Uni go come go jail. I beg talk another one. ![]() |
Even though I don’t like given poor folks idea’s of making money or “ Hammering” using Niaja lingo for sudden money or wealth!!! Against a man of God, What OF if this poor lady from Imo State sues the Pastor, she would probably win, anyway I hope she does not? ![]() |
I knew Tonton Dike for her Publicity theatrics than any of her films in Nollywood. B4 all these her new publicity drama, I must have seen her uncountable times in Nollywood films but then she was just another faceless Niaja actress, but since she embarked on this new promo, or image making misadventure I must say she has come under my radii and I am sure she has come under a lot of people’s radii too. Anyways kudos to her, she try sha |
Don’t you think it is high time Madame Finance minister (for us to revisit Soludo’s re-denomination) for N1 Naira to exchange for $1 dollar, if Ghana can do it what the fuccccck is holding us back. ![]() |
If you call every populated place with banks, schools and industries a city, then there are more than 1000 cities in Nigeria. Rivers State has obigbo,Onne, Eleme, Omoku, Bonny, Bori and Okrika in addition to Port Harcourt. Imo State has Orlu,Anara, Oguta, Okigwe, Amaigbo, Mbaise, Nwaorieubi, Umuaka and countless cities. Delta has Asaba, Warri, Ibuzor, Agbor, Sapele, Effurun, Ughelli and countless more.Another person talking shiiiit, what stops Nigeria from having 1000 Cities, is it because she is an underperforming and under-developed society; it does not matter whether you have 1000 SkysCRAPERS in the city centre of a city or 1 million straw huts in the city centre. If a city in Africa chooses to make a straw hut a bank, post office, or community hall, that exercise does not devalue the intrinsic value of the Bank, Post Office or Community Hall Whether the city is Chicago in Illinois or Idah, in Kogi State ![]() |
There are a lot of bleeping numbskulls on this forum. A pretty unfortunate big majority of Nigerian's are incredibly ignorant people incapable of thinking for themselves. They live by indoctrination and live in the delusion of religious piety and morality.Have you being shagged lately by your boyfriend, I think you need to go get a good freaking hiding, just like the atheist professor, you have lost your moral compunction and the only thing that excites you and your co-patriots are blood and anarchism. I saw a depicted picture of Sodom and Gomorrah, that Sincity depiction was a real dregs of human adaptation and excesses, our country has too many mundane problems adding a catalyst like homo-se-xual depravation into the cacophony of misogynism in our society would only overwhelm an already volatile, highly inflammable and combustible nation like ours. This nation can be saved from all that drama http://cthomas-hellbent..com/2011/05/sin-city.html |
There is even no First Bank (the most common bank in Nigeria) there, but they are now in U.I (some 2 or more KMs away)Stop talking bullshit, I went UI and graduated in 1991, there have always been a First Bank In UI from time memorial, it has always being part and parcel of the different institutions within the campus. ![]() |
This girl no get shame, first of all she begin befreind Wiz Kid ( knowing he was the rave of the moment) obviously that would make people notice her, now going to lay flower in Dagrin's grave(not forgetting that huge tatoo at her back). I bet when the poor lad(Dagrin) was alive she probably didn't know him. Na wa for this madame publicity, anything to be on the front page, I pity the person wey go marry this kind woman! ![]() |
I think charging a toll on a state road BY A State Goverment is within the purvey of the " Residual List" in the constitution. If this information is true, it would be challenged in court. |
We are still battling with Soyinka's 1950's Frankenstein MONSTER Today, which started with a humble beginning, championing pro-independence crusade against the Colonialist. Although not the Prof's fault, that this 'innocent innocuous demien' or 'the Devil's Child' has grown from being "agitators extraordinary" to the "Devil's Incarnate Plenipotentiary". No crime is too small or too gruesome enough for this group of blood thirsty vampires, they are today Nigeria's 'bogey men', I used to think there is nothing called a 'bogey man' but when you have a bout and a 'one on one' warning session with these men of dogs, cold chilled would literally run through your veins, the experience can only be likened to a man who have just witnessed the 'eternity pains of damnation' in hell, I pray the macrbe ways of these ritualist would not be our portion, Amen oooooooh ![]() Picture of a dead Bird (EIYE) https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=1344508548373&set=o.280146741926&type=3&theater |
you build a mall in the middle of a giant slum and call that development.Ikeja is not a slum, this poster is definitely suffering from 'mental seizure' caused by the extreme cold weather in England at the moment. ![]() |
If what someone said a few post back that this mall's rent is some N400,000 a quarter and a would be shop owners would need to make a sale of N1 million every 3 months, then it would be safe to say this mall would probably go down the road of 'Tinapa' except of course if this white elephant project is going to be used by the elite's wives to wash money. By washing money I mean launder ill gotten funds through this conduit, obviously in such instances profit which is the bane of every business, would not be the funder-mental principle and cornerstone of the perpetrators here, rather getting back and out quickly a healthy % of the ill gotten wealth as sales made, thereby legitimizing the fraud would be paramount. |
Soyinka is an atheist, and an atheist has a moral compass equals to 'zilch' or 'zero' so taken what he says wholeheartedly or seriously must be frowned upon. Give those 'gays' an inch and then they will take a mile. That cancer of sodomy must be kept at arms length and under wraps in our shores, so that we can concentrate on other major and important issues that affects our society without being enmeshed in the intricacies and the rather unpalatable thought of what homosexual-ism is all about. As it were, Our sensibilities have already being bruised by discussing such abhorrence, the earlier this dastardly act is tucked away the better for many who never knew it ever existed. Our people are in the dark ages when it comes to compunction to this kind of social malice and it makes sense for them to remain there. |
Lagos, Ibadan, Kano , Abuja, Kaduna, Benin, Enugu, PH, Ikeja, are Metropolitan in Nature and are Cities and are Metropolitan areas also. By Metropolitan I mean, You cannot drive into any of these Cities and be out of the City within 10 or 20 Minutes because they are huge Urban settlements that has all the paraphernalia and problems that bedevilled a City such as Traffic Jams, Bottlenecks, hawkers and other commercial intrusion being the bane and the other of the day. Every other Urban Stettlement with multiple Bank Branches and in most cases multiple Branches of the same Bank within the City, A General Hospital, Good quality Hotels, Good quality eatries, a CATHEDRAL, Large Mosque, and other denominations of the faithes be it Christanity or Islamic Faiths can be called a City. @poster, there are no one city states in Nigeria no matter how you want to spin it. And Secondly the SW is the most Urbanised part in Nigeria based on data from back in the 1950's, 15 of the 20 largest Towns then were in the SW. Today many other Towns across all regions can be called Cities so your assertion some states are one City state is a fallacy. ![]() To move forward on City Development In other to fight huge unemployment in the land, Cities in Nigeria should have " Statutory Civic Institutions within" and by this I mean a City must have the following if we want to go by Western Standard. 1. Any City above 100,000 people should have her own University, a Large Hospital the size of Luth or UCH in Ibadan, a General Post OFFICE, A City Town Hall, A City Mall e.t.c and a Mayor, the system where we have 3 or sometimes 4 LG in one City and it is still not working must be Scrapped and a purposeful office of a Mayor established and elected. The LG Chairmen System can be used and retained in the rural areas. 2. The Income from the federation Account should be channelled to the 3 Senatorial District, the Senator elect should be charged with the glorified job of dispensing the funds accordingly(at least by Given the Senators that extra work they would be able to justify their huge allowances). We should do away with that corrupt and high-ended office of the Governor, that would save the country a lot of funds. |
I was wondering why I was so happy on reading this news, until I read the bolded part above.Enugu might be poor based on the money they get from the federation account, but I don't think it is a poor city. Most Igbos who have nothing to do wtih the State Goverments live there as economic Migrant. So supporting the notion that Enugu State is poor is a fallacy. In Economic terms it is probably the 2nd most prosperous town in the SS and the SE after Port Harcourt. Why was your IKemba Living in Enugu and not in Awka or Nnewi. It is like saying Ondo State is Richer than Oyo State in the SW, oNDO gets more money from the federation account and even has a smaller population than Oyo State, so by your definition Ondo is Richer than Oyo which is a complete fallacy. ![]() |

Just wondering why there are NO SGF just like the Northern one. Is it because the Southern States have gotten it right and they don't really have to deliberate on any issue or because of the inherent discord B/W the SW and SE. JUST Wondering. although not fully blown in the open but a definite simmering war of attrition fought on the internet and blogsphere cannot be denied, this has probably made any attempt or the thought by the relevant stakeholders of having a forum similar to that of the North a none starter . ![]() |
Lovely. We need this in Abuja.True Talk that, with all the noise and gra-gra in Abuja, I am not sure they have a proper mall (although I have seen some Renders in SKyCarpercity that is about it). That is shocking with the kind of money in that City. Same thing Port Harcourt. ![]() |
If that institution changes her name to that of that absconder, The rag-tag degree that would ensue from this degradation and inglorious feat had better be restricted to employment within the SE Region since “OnlyTruth” has equivocally said they are not Nigerians and do not need an institution bearing ‘Nigeria’ located in their area or sphere of influence. Already, the Abia State Government in her determination to Abianize her economy and State has already sounded the ignored but ever loud warning informing all asunder that it would not offer employment to any other Igbo’s from neighbouring surrounding Igbo State. Obviously that is 4 Core Igbo States minus 1 = 3 eligible employable employees, since other Nigerians are considered as enemies within. |
I see the Agricultural sector growing; all those fruit and veg need to sourced from somewhere presumably not abroad. That is an area Nigerians who are un-employed and looking for a sector to go into, should embrace without a second thought. |
Eko Atlantice City when fully developed and operational would be employing more than 3 million people including millions of Igbo’s in Lagos, so all those pulling down a laudable project, “ Me Shonu” – Igbo for shut-up. ![]() |
Calling Citadels of learning and an esteemed institution such as UNN after a rebel leader would not only dumb down the degrees obtained by innocent Nigerians from that institution, the name ‘Ojukwu’ imprinted on the certificate would invoke, unravel, and inflame underpinning sentiments from would be employers especially if those employer are from the northern part of the country. Potential candidates from such institution might not be judged by the content of their character or their academic excellence but by their assumed persuasion or loyalty to a “rebel without a cause”, which in the grand scheme of things connotes a negative vibe to a would be employer. This might be detrimental to the already misaligned and marginalised Igbo’s and probably other Nigerians from this institution. |
Is A-CN criticising for the sake of just criticising, how do you reconcile the A-CN Governors stance and position within the confines of the ‘ NEC’ with that of their subjects or colleagues in the house of assembly. We all know the Governors hold all the aces especially if the House men are from the Governor’s party, why this double-speak now!!! ![]() |
the few good men! |
The fact that a road in a major city in a state can fall into such a state of dis-repair is a shame to say the least. We should stop celebrating mediocrity this man gets in excess of N2 billion every month for d past 50 months and still counting, yet during this period never had d urge or desire to sort out d roads of Aba until now and some people on this forum is shouting hallelujah and jumping for joy. What kind of Idi--o-ts god come put person with for Naija! ![]() |
Remember the Crocodile tears of Allison-Madueke? She deserved an Oscar for that performance. Probably the most notable thing she did as Minister of Works back then. Oga GEJ is obviously impressed with failure seeing as she is Petroleum Minister today. God save Nigeria from all these mediocrities everywhere. These people in Government are shameless gluttons, is it not the same Maduake and Ngozi championing the removal of subsidy in 2011. Where has the money for the refurbishment of that road gone too, My guess is as good as anybody’s. |
Jonathan telling lies in Abuja, Fashola given us stories in Lagos, e be like say we are really caught between the Devil and the deep blue sea. Where do we go from here. These blatant lies are becoming irritating by the day. |
And silly Jonathan would say we have no money, where has all the money on all these projects gone. ![]() |
To be sincere, I have fed up of reading one state government or the other or even the FG double-speak on a lot of project. In some Oyinbo countries when they are building something you would not know until they are about to commission it. In most cases during the building process the whole landscaper or area would be covered with a huge scaffolding thereby making people have a wild guess as to what is being built. And if it is road they are building they start by expanding one side of the road, making sure the road is motorable throughout the life of the project, the flow of traffic would not be hindered whatsoever. When one side of the road is completed then they move to the other side and do the same thing. They put a lot of road cones on the road to guide people as to where they should pass. Initially the whole thing looks like a complete mess but the moment they remove the cone you would be surprised at the wonder beneath all that chaos, in surprising cases a three lane expressway would be revealed to the astonishment of all asunder. In Nigeria, a Governor announces to the world a 10 billion road has being awarded, only for nothing to be done months and years after. I sense the reason why they make these spurious and fake announcements is because their conscience has already started pricking them b4 the imminent fraud they are planning to commit and perpetuate over the poor folks of our nation. N10 billion to be use for this, 25 billion to be use for that, 60 billion to be used for the expansion of those, yet nothing to show for. I beg all 36 Governments including the Federal Government of Nigeria and all ministers please give us a break from promises upon promise without delivering. Some Projects we still waiting for an end date so far. 1. Lagos/Ibadan Express way Concessioned way back in 2006 no end date insight. Shonekan’s commission faults Lagos-Ibadan expressway concessionTHE Infrastructure Concession Regulation Commission (ICRC), has blamed the Ministry of Works for not doing a thorough job before signing the concession agreement for the N89 billion reconstruction work on the Lagos_Ibadan expressway. The road project was concessioned to Messrs. Bi_Courtney Highway Services. The Commission accused the Ministry of hastily signing the concession agreement without a detailed survey, cost and clear risk allocation structure of the contract. These factors according to the agency are responsible for the delay in the project taking off. The contract was awarded over 20 months ago(that is back in 2008, 3 years after still awaiting when contract would commence) under the former Minister of Works, Dr. Hassan Mohammed Lawal, but the firm is yet to make any impact on the project 2. Abuja sub-urban rail awarded back in 2008 to be completed by 2012 on February 19, 2010 in Nigeria The new light rail system in the Nigerian capital Abuja will be in operation by 2012, Senator Adamu Aliero says. The completion date was advanced from 2013 due to the good progress made by the China Civil Engineering ConstructionCorporation (CCECC). While inspecting the work early in February, Aliero was quoted saying: “I think it would be wrong for anybody to call this project a white elephant project. A white elephant project is a project that has no direct bearing to the people it is meant to serve.” He said the system is meant to solve the transport problems of ordinary people in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). “This is a project that can transport 500 to 1,000 people at once to the city centre, the airport, the industrial park and other satellite towns. ” He explained that, to date, the FCT administration had paid 15% of the project’s total cost which amounts to about $US840 million. Further amounts are to be paid soon “to speed up the project”. 3. Lekki- Epe Expressway only 2km has being done on a 44KM road but yet Messers Fashola wants to start collecting Toll. Written by Seyi OsiyemiThe concept of Public-Private Partnership is not “Nigerian”. It’s a concept that was developed in the western world. However, it’s become common practice for governments in Nigeria to borrow a foreign concept and turn it on its head. Still On Lekki-Epe Expressway PPP Contract, by Seyi Osiyemi Just over a year ago, I wrote a piece on the Lekki-Epe Expressway Public-Private Partnership contract between Lagos State Government and Lekki Concession Company. My criticism at the time was informed by the decision of LCC to install three toll booths on the 44km arterial road. I couldn’t understand the concessionaire (LCC) tolling strategy. Why for example would a local resident making a short trip between Sangotedo and Ajah be subjected to a toll. I asked the question if the toll is targeted towards local traffic or long distance travellers? Fast forward to 2010(Now December 2011), only 2km of the proposed 44km road widening project has been completed, even though we were told in 2006 that the project will be completed within three years. The concessionaire, LCC put the construction cost of the 2km upgrade at N5billion. However, some of the tolling booths have been constructed, and there are “unconfirmed” reports that LCC intends to start charging commuters for using a road that is technically, “still under construction”. The concept of Public-Private Partnership is not “Nigerian”. It’s a concept that was developed in the western world. However, it’s become common practice for governments in Nigeria to borrow a foreign concept and turn it on its head. 4. Abuja –Kaduna Fast Train Commuting Abuja-Kaduna In 60 MinsFrom early next year, many people working in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, may well decide to reside in Kaduna and commute everyday to work from there. The shuttle will take only an hour. Impossible? Possible, courtesy of the on-going Abuja – Kaduna rail project. The project is one of two rail contracts the Ministry of Transport conceived dear to its heart to solve the nation’s transportation problems. The other is the proposed Lagos – Ibadan line. Yusuf Suleiman, Minister of Transport until last weekend, spoke passionately of how he intended to take vehicular pressure off the nation’s roads and afford both long distance travellers and short routes commuters faster and more convenient transportation alternatives. Suleiman was upbeat about how the cargo trains that would run the two lines after completion would drastically reduce the havoc that trailers and tankers wreak on the roads. That is not all. Before President Goodluck Jonathan dissolved the cabinet, Suleiman had travelled to China to discuss with the Chinese government a proposal to construct the Lagos – Abuja rail project. If the project becomes a reality, it will take only three hours to travel by train from the nation’s commercial capital of Lagos to the FCT. The Minister in charge of China’s railways was last week expected to lead a delegation to Nigeria to finalise discussions with the federal government on the epoch project. The ministry has awarded both the Abuja – Kaduna and Lagos – Ibadan rail contracts to the CCECC, a Chinese company. The latter, a double track standard gauge totalling a distance of 312 kilometres, was awarded at the sum of $1.53bn including consultant’s fees, with the Chinese government granting Nigeria about $1bn in concessionary loan from China’s EXIM Bank. The ministry is only awaiting President Goodluck Jonathan’s anticipatory approval for the project to commence. The CCECC has already commenced work on the Abuja – Kaduna line. Unlike the Lagos – Ibadan project, the Abuja – Kaduna rail line is a single standard gauge track covering a distance of about 186 kilometres. Commuting on it between Abuja and Kaduna is expected to take exactly an hour. The project was negotiated in 2009 and subsequently received the Bureau for Public Procurement’s and Federal Executive Council’s approvals. The contract agreement was signed with the CCECC in October of that year. 5. Abuja – Lokoja Expressway no end on sight yet!!! FG recalls contractors handling Abuja/Lokoja dualisation projectFour contractors who got the contract for the dualisation of the Abuja/Lokoja road three year ago but abandoned it midway due to lack of funds from the Federal government, have been recalled. The contractors are expected to resume work on the road based on a fresh promise by the Federal government to release funds to enable them complete the project Minister of Works, Mike Onolememen, an Architect, who made the promise while inspecting the road admitted the challenges faced by the construction companies. He however assured them that funds would be made available to enable them resume work immediately. “The Federal government has started funding the dualization of this road; we will look at other creative funding models which the government can employ to bring this road to completion,” he said. The Abuja/Lokoja dualisation project was awarded to four indigenous construction companies in March 2007 at sum of N42.4 billion with 30 months completion period but inadequate budgetary provisions in the last three years affected the completion of the road. The four companies are Dantata & Sawoe Construction Company (Nig.) Limited which got the lot from International Airport road junction to Sheda Village, covering 42 kilometers at the sum of N11.2 billion. RCC Construction Company Limited which got the lot from Sheda Village to Abaji Junction, spanning 57 kilometers at N9.6billion. Bulletine Construction Co. Ltd got from Abaji to Kotonkarfi, approximately 49 kilometers at N9.7billion while Gitto Construzioni Generalli Limited is to complete the construction from Kotonkarfi to Lokoja, about 50 kilometers for N11.9billion. “This road connects people to South-West, South-East and part of North-Central. It is very important to this country because most economic activities come through this road. We are therefore very determined to bring this road to completion during our tenure,” the Minister said. Meanwhile, the Minister as advised local construction firms to consider merging their firms in order to boost their competitive advantage with foreign firms. The advice came on the heels of government’s concern over the inadequacies of indigenous companies which lack the technical-no-how and the managerial capabilities to compete favourably with foreign companies in construction projects. Onolememen who received the governing board of the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria, COREN led by the body’s president, Engr Mustapha Bulama in his office enjoined small firms to merge so that they can become bigger and better positioned to compete with the foreign companies. |
