@ Kobojunkie

You do not need to align yourself with a particular group. You only need to start right where you are.

You mean like Boko Haram, no matter how good or bad their intention was, they were starting a sort of revolution, they were resisting and fighting a feudal system that has become the bane of Northern Nigeria society and to some extent Southern Nigeria too.

Did they achieve their goal, you can say that again, they got slaughtered in an orgy of frenzied debauchery never seen since the days of Stalin in Russia.

Are the money men who bankrolled all this mayhem still alive today, I bet they are not only enjoying their carveir fish dinner they are also enjoying the most un-imaginable orgy with their numerous harem.

The days of Che Guevera are gone for good, who incidentally died doing the only thing he knew best. To embark on armed struggle is to embark on a suicidal mission in today’s world.

Soludo does not need to be arrested, it is bad enough to be tagged a failure after 5 years of national duty. Would you arrest somebody for scoring F9 in the WASC exams or scoring 100 / 400 in JAMB exams.

By the way mate your post was riddled with shitty grammar, I have helped you perform some corrections. Also stop using a lot of lofty words, be simple and concise it makes life easier:

To use such a phrase as displayed above as the opening gambit to an argument shows the depth of your intellect, equating your IQ with humans  will be a disservice to the wild animals roaming the kenyan wild. It is apparent that the animalistic instinct in man that was hitherto in extinction for centuries is quite intact in your mind. I just hope that the culture, courtesy, and civility of the host nation you are living at will rub on you with time. You can beg to differ but to call people names is uncalled for.

Also read the irony in your statement--you go on a name calling spree while admonishing me for s smaller case of name calling. Also by the way everything you used as an insult could be paraphrased into just one phrase 'You are a beast of no nation." Stop being overly wordy. Man by the way learn how to insult concisely , this is a public forum and it is a requisite skill  .

This is not an essay or grammer contest it is all about communication, if you grasped the message then every other thing is secondary. No human has the perogative  use of the english language it is a language that is evolving, if a mordern english speaker were to write to a 17th century scribe, the latter will be lost he will be convinced that what is written is greek or latin.
Politics › Re: Are We Truly Ready For A Revolution by KnowAll(m): 1:06pm On Aug 19, 2009
The earlier NLanders realise you cannot carry out revolution from the comfort of your homes and from far away lands the better.

To be serious and practical about revolution is to alighn one's self with the sense of reason and dissent from the major and dominant politcal force.

I heard a group of Hausa /Fulani intelligentisia are dis-illusioned with the PDP they are not happy with the way Yaradua is running the country. These fringe members of the PDP I understand  are de-tribalised, and want to throw their own candidate into the ring come 2011. Those of you intrested in the revolution go and seek out these guys and know what their aganda is for the country, mordern revolution is not all about blood shed it is about systematic encroahing of the power base, you encroah-hold, then encroach- hold until a final take over is possible and realisiable.

The Old oyo empire's border was as far north as Minna, hence similarities of names between Niger state citizens and yorubas.

The solution to the undue influence of the fulani and the Saraki family in particular in Ilorin is the indigenous yorubas should nominate for themselves an oba just in the same mould as the eze indigbo of lagos that way will free them from the shackles of the Saraki family and the fulani haegenomy forever. They will be able to form and organise themselves into a strong opposing bloc that will challenge the Saraki's family dominance of all spheres of live in that state.

Is it great that a clown makes your miserable life ever more miserable, that you can't avoid mentioning his name anytime you hit the keyboard.
The bad news for you is that this clown called Mazi Ralph Uwazuruike had no idea about your existence and never will, but his name alone is what causes you some sleep at night.
Now who is the joke?

As long as Biafra remains an illusion in the minds of diasporan Igbos and a form of comical entertainment for Nigerian based Igbos with that gaff prone Uwazurike as her helmsman most people in the country will have a good night sleep No shaking. cool

I missed a heart beat just this week when I read that there is a new organisation in the south-south called the Urobo Peoples Republican Army, since this new group has yet to taste the bitter pill of defeat in the battle field, hiding under the protection and anonimity that bloggersphere provides will not be an option now.

They will want to inflict their own quota of pain on innocent citizens before enventually succumbing to defeat. I will have sleepness night over this group than bat my eye over Biafra.

Man Mr Know All is an idiot,

To use such word as displayed above as the opening gambit to an argument shows the dept of how low you are intellectually, to equate your IQ with normal human beings will be a diservice to the wild animals roaming the sarangetti in Kenyan. Whats with this Erastus dude? Is he that good? How come he was booted out and fell like a park of cards. Can't see anything good about him

Eratus, Eratus,

That name, Jim Ovia , and Cicilia Ibru have being at the top echelon of the banking industries for decades and now it seems as though they have been around for eternity, not only that, they were the most 3 flamboyant CEO’S they were also the most fashionable ones.

They were unstoppable wielding so much financial muscle in a country where politicians were revered to see bankers with so much influence and power was a first in Nigeria, one would undoubtedly not rule out envy and jealousy amongst the political class and elites. The advantage they had was they could splash their cash without any retribution from anybody or any quarter unlike the politicians who had to be ingenious and covert in their operation.

They were only allowed to flourish and got their strips and ranks from the OBJ / Soludo regime. You need to know that regime turned little or known millionaires into billionaires in dollars over night. Who was Femi Otedola before 1999.

The examples are just the type of deals going on in Nigeria banking system

Who is suppose to monitor those deals, if not the CBN Governor and his board of directors and he failed flatly in delegating, monitoring, supervising and enforcing laid down rules and regulations.

He has done well both professionally and politically

To think that this man after emptying his state treasury and even borrowing huge sums from the banks thereby creating an extra debt portfolio to the state of some N400 billion, and getting away with that unscathed which is bad enough as it were.

For him to be allowed to put his big fat plundering hands into the coffers of our banks and help himself to private funds and share-holder’s equity is unforgivable.
Politics › Re: Problems With Consolidated Banks: Was Soludo A Failure? by KnowAll(op): 10:17am On Aug 18, 2009
Soludo’s stewardship can be summerized as thus “ A man decides to build a house, he did the foundation, raised the blocks to roofing level, looked at his handy work and said to himself this house is beautiful” . In fact I might as well just move into the house and start living in it. He now moved into the house and lived in it for a month then later decided to sell it.

The buyer who came to inspect the house was Mallam Sanusi, he said to Soludo “how did you manage to live in this house without a roof, Soludo retorted back in harsh husky voice,  don’t u think it is beautiful as it is.

The fundamentals of these analogy is that Soludo accomplished the mundane task of his job description but neglected his regulatory, supervisory and enforcement duties which as we all know are the core duty of any central bank.

Those of you who believe Soludo did a good job, how many of you will live in a house without a roof. I doubt if anyone of you will or ever think of such an harrowing prospect to start with.

People keep on going on about Soludo’s capitalisation, what is the point of capitalisation if the bank executives have a carte blanch right to spend, borrow, loan out the share holders equity with reckless impunity. I personally think he failed not marginally but woefully.

uwazurike is a clown, I dont think any Nigerian should watch comedy anymore, that man keeps entertaining the whole nation with his bungling antics and his gaffs. ( He reminds me of Mr Bean )  grin

Firstly he printed a biafran currency which his own wife will not touch with a barge pole and, then he went on to issue a Biafran passport he himself will not use to travel with. He is the funniest clown in town, I think most Nigerians have come to appreciate the extra-ordinary talent that uwazurike posses he and his cohorts are the best stand up comedian in the nation today. The word doing the rounds in the posh lagos clubs like Ikoyi club, Eko Club, Boat Club, is a fraudulent scheme by all these spent millionaires who have squandered their money on the good life. They are thinking of a way they can resurrect their dwindling fortunes by forming companies, float it in the stock market, and later cash the share-holder’s equity after a few greasing of the palms. NSE Nigeria stock exchange should also reform to curb such callous act.

cnt say soludo z an outrite failure. before the recapitilasation exercise, banks wer built on shadows. the capital base of most of them wer merely less than a billion naira(£4bn), this is  wat some british banks post as annual PBT!!!. the recapitalisation exercise raised the bar to 25bn(£100m). aldou we havnt gotten der yet(standard chartered's capital base is wel wel ova £1bn), were getn sumwer.IF SOLUDO DINT ENGINEER THE RECAPITALISATION, WE WOULDNT BE CRYING OVA 5 SACKED M.D'S, SOME PPL LL NEARLY COMMIT SUICIDE AFTA THE FALL OF OVA 50 BANKS IN DIS GLOBAL ECONOMIC CRISES.

There is noting but hollow before capitalisation as far as I am concerned,  Nigeria history b4 capitalisation was known existent since the untimely death of democracy in 1983. The country was run by illegitimate people who appointed illegitimate Governors where all kinds of thing under the sun is allowable and possible to compare Soludo’s stewardship to this era in our history will not be fair on Soludo himself. I can remember the Naira been pegged at 80 to 1 to the dollar throughout Abacha’s regime.

Yesterday, I listened to one of my friends for 20 minutes analyse banking and policies. He did so well that a mere observer would think he was guru in financial analysis. It was very disgusting because had no points and at best turned the points upside down. Just now every idiot in Nigeria calls people names in the guise of financial/ policy analysis. I thought replying to this post was a waste of time. Maybe I still think so

By not heeding to that inner voice that stop u from posting yesterday, only to be lead by that loud voice that made u post today, has not only exposed your lack of view but it has clearly shown u are someone that regurgitate and panders second hand information as a past time. Other CBN Governors before him were seasoned bankers. What was their achievements? Soludo tried his bit to salvage the banking sector from total collapse. Sanusi will equally peform his magic. Let us see how it works out. This attitude of castigating former chief executives on the ground of non pereformance is unhealthy

Those were not proper Governors, they were men under a lot of duress with a gun at their temple, if the Head of state tell them to sleep with their mothers they will gladly do it, to compare Soludo to this “Yes men”, is belittling Soludo.

I have always thought our elites are brain dead and don’t have a clue what is happening the case of Eratus Akingbola confirms my fears. Having read that Eratus Akingbola worships at the redeem centre on the lagos to Ibadan expressway, surely that would have been a good opportunity for him to shift the hoards of human weather beast ( let me borrow Jakumo’s description of the human hoard that converges at the Lagos to Ibadan express way every Friday ) from lagos to Ogun state by initiating and selling the idea of a fast train link between Lagos and Redeem camp. I am sure there will be several takers for this project if the bank is ready to make funds available. Rather Eratus Akingbola deem it as a good investment borrowing huge sums of money to private individuals chasing a non-existent project could it be a case where these huge sums have been equally shared between the banker and his clients, I sincerely hope  not, otherwise we are surely doomed in Nigeria.

Lets call a spade a spade Soludo is to blame you don’t ignore what is blatantly gross mis-management it is like a football referee not blowing the whistle in what is a clear cut penalty. If a blind man can see it is a penalty then it is penalty, I am afraid Soludo has no leg to stand. No point massaging the truth with unecessary spin.

Professionalism is creeping into our banking sector with what I read in the papers today, that is great news, I hope the NSE or Nigeria Stock Exchange also reforms. People like Dopkesi should not be allowed to run public quoted companies. We wait in eagerness for reforms in that sector, it would mean a full blood transfusion of the entire Financial sector.
Politics › Re: Biafra Will Be The Biggest Mistake Ever. Beware! by KnowAll(m): 10:03am On Aug 17, 2009
Biafra is a concept in the minds of diaspoaran Igbo’s, it is what make them tick, a feeling and a sense of belonging, a false illusion that can be employed giving them self justification that the war was not lost, but only a minor hiccup,  a sort of tactical withdrawal that will be rectified with time.

The Biafran dreamers or illusionist are like the Italian American, holding dear to the old country yet not letting the new country slip from their hands.

With the advent of the internet there are no defeated armies, an army defeated on the battle field will rise on the pages of  internet forums dotted all over the world. Hence the rise of Boko Haram 2 weeks after they were annihilated in Maiduguri.

I bet if you do a proper search on remnants of Hitler’s SS you will be surprise to find out that they are still thriving on the pages of internet forums and planning how they will get one back on old Blithy or Britain.

I personal think it is good for these illusionists at least in the short term as it actually prevents them from physically picking up a rifle and causing havoc, we as a nation can leave with that for now.

The description of Ex General Oluwole of the Biafran illusionst as a remenants of a rag-tag army cannot be far from the truth. Any other description will be way of the mark.
Politics › Re: Ghana: Nigerians Must Go by KnowAll(m): 9:23am On Aug 17, 2009
Ecowas is more or less dead then, if the Ghanaian government were to succumb to such trash, they should borrow a leaf from Europe where if you are from Spain and you commit an offence in any other European country that country’s law enforcement agency will march you fire for fire. I know it is an Herculean task to expect African countries in general and Ghanaian Authorities in particular to get up to speed in crime prevention but for any modern civil society, to ascend to the prestigious club of fast developing democratic state, crime hindrance and prevention in all its ramifications should be part and parcel of that development plan.

The Ghanaian authorities cannot isolate this problem, it should strengthen those authorities that deal with crime prevention, crime detection and crime enforcement, but been an African country the money that should have been tailored towards such laudable project would be consumed by the politicians. The politics of throwing out people from other countries are politics of the 3rd Reich in Germany and belongs to the 1930’s, employing such tactics in this modern day and age speaks volume as per the writer of this piece, it depicts the stagnant relic state of mind of modern African thinkers, the author of this piece should be ashamed of himself.  Ironically the writer of this piece has a is total divergent view from the Great African thinkers such as Kwame Nkrumah who preached and prophesies the oneness of African state since the early 1950’s to think the 2 views come from the same country albeit different eras is rather interesting.

Are you saying the bank was about to fail? That's news even to people who own these banks.
Forcefully putting 70billion in a bank with 1.3 trillion asset, and taking it over in the name of rescuing customers is another daylight armed robbery possible only in Nigeria.

For the Governor to use the word " technical Insolvent" is not a word people throw around willy neely, it is serious matter. The Governor is one step from saying it has actually hit a boulder, courtesy and drastic dash for their cash by customer prevented  the Governor from actually declaring bankruptcy, if the aggreived banks beleive they have a case they should seek redress in the courts.

Your lack of basic World economic news is not only nauseating, but actually troubling, because ignorant people like you are capable of making Nigeria's bad economic situation worse.

So your Nigerian stock equity dropped from N2.8million to 0.3million today--thanks to Soludo? I guess we would also thank him for the drop NYSE, FTE, DJA, and other World burse that also lost equity. Even if nobody has ever told you that the World economy is connected, you should have at least done some basic research before putting your stupidity on paper

We thank Souldo for the dire state of Inter-Continental's Account, and I para-phrase the CBN's word " one of the banks is technically Insolvent" those are not my word but the new CBN boss exact word. So direct your anger at him and your Soludo that let all those unethical deals to prosper during his tenure.

So Alan Greespan failed because he was replaced by Berneke? How easy it is to exposure the ethno-tribal undertone of any topic in Nigeria.

If you don't understand the characteristics of free market economy and banking which was what OBJ and Soludo envisioned, just shut your mouth, because there is no reason under the sun to compare either OBJ with Yar'dua, or Soludo with Sanusi.

Private and public economies are bound to affected by corruption, but time and time again, we have seen that the magnitude of corruption in private economies are much less than their public counterparts.

In public or government runs companies, the person who comes out to arrest criminals today, eventually becomes the bigger thief tomorrow.

Just look at World history and our national record since after independence.

Asking whether Soludo was a failure simply because Sanusi wants to nationalize the nations private banks is akin to IBB overthrowing Buhari because of "gross abuse of the law" and turned out to be the 'smartest criminal president' we ever had.

Your views have been taken note of, I dont thing you will be saying all these crap if you have N5million in Inter Continental and you want to withdraw it only to be declined, we have seen it happen in Nigeria not once or twice it has in fact become a perenial problem, that rut has to stop and somebody should stand up against such flagrant abuse of power by our bankers.

Politics › Re: Problems With Consolidated Banks: Was Soludo A Failure? by KnowAll(op): 9:43pm On Aug 16, 2009
Mr KnowAll, you goofed in the point that Soludo may have failed because he was an Economist and not a Banker. Soludo has not failed. Policy is a continuum

In the first place, Central Banks/Federal Reserve/Bank of England governors all over the world are not mostly economist. And more noteworthy, they are principally PHD Economist because the economy is not just about banks but more about complex macro-economy.  Carry out a research on countries such as USA, England, Japan and other countries. The present US FED Chairman is a Professor of Economics.

In these countries, Sanusi will not  near CBN mantle of leadership becomes he lack the academic and professional pedigree.

Sanusi and Soludo will surely have different management style. Sanusi may decide to sack an entire board because they over-leveraged their portfolio while Soludo may decide to prop them up to a degree. It's all about management policy exclusive to CBN head based on his interpretation of macroeconomic variables. I support his decision because Nigerian Banks are a disgrace to their profession and to the country. But we must remember the MD's and their Board did not commit any crime.

Soludo is still  the reference point of success in the history of CBN governorship. Sanusi may equal or surpass it. It is a verdict for the future - not present and will not be based on a single policy decision.

I did not say Soludo failed if you care to check the subject title I said "  Was Soludo a failure with a quetsion ?" , my own verdict is yes he failed, but you might beg to differ which is perfectly fine by me it is a debate not a fact.
