Seriously?

I think Fayemi is too laid back

If he was in some other region, he could easily be the best performing governor (raising his IGR to over N1bn per month from almost nothing and attracting some valuable investment) but he doesn't seem to move at the SW pace

He should take a cue from Aregbesola otherwise there will be vacancy in the state house
What is it with Phd holders, they think too hard b4 making a decision. See our friend at Aso Rock. Meanwhile Aregbesola just do his own thing making him number 1 untouchable in Southern Nigeria. Oshun State is d only state Jonathan would get less than 20% votes in Southern Nigeria, Ekiti should be like that but Fayemi is just too slow. huh

Politics › Re: Jonathan Might Win The Elections In 2015(see Statistics)!!!! by KnowAll(op): 5:00pm On Sep 17, 2013
If the two major gladiators in 2011 presidential election square up again, Jonathan will have significantly lesser votes in the south west, lest we forget, at the 2011 pres. elections, PDP was still controlling 2 out of the 6 sw states (ogun and oyo), and had just lost 2 of the states(ekiti and oshun) like 6 months before. With APC controlling 5 out of the 6 south west states so far, and GEJ losing a lot of good will and his presumed humbled disposition from fuel subsidy saga, and hunting down of political rivalries.

In the SE, the APC is making inroads in to the south east, at least, it now controls imo state, and who knows might controls anambra state by next year, Abia PDP seems weakened courtesy of imperformance by the sitting governor , Enugu and ebonyi still stays firmly in the hands of PDP,

in the south east APC (buhari), less than 1% performance might improve to roughly 7-8%, there would also be reduced voters turnout and magic numbers. 4 out of the 5 Pro-pdp governors are not seeking re-election, sometimes leads to less mobilisation of voters for PDP

In the south south, crisis in the South south especially, Rivers state, most of his PDP governors are not seeking re-election might lead to less mobilisation of voters. APC buhari less than 2% performance might improve to roughly 10%.

In the North west, It will be very significant improvement for APC, with the merger of ANPP, CPC AND ACN, most of the PDP Northern elements who were persuaded to allow GEJ use out Yaradua's tenure will no longer support GEJ.

In the North central, there would slight improvement for APC than the 2011 elections.

In the North East, There would also be significant improvement in this region to favour APC.

Lest we forget, GEJ had roughly 57% of the total votes cast in 2011,but in 2015, GEJ might struggle to get close to 40% of total votes cast.

N.B: there are still up to 16 months to presidential election, and a lot can still happen within this period to change the political equation
You are talking from a logical point of view and we all know Nigerian Politics defiles logic. I am sure you read about the LG elections in Offa, Kwara State, one party won all the wards and another party got declared the eventual winner. Same thing happened in Lagos State during their LG Elections. So why would it be any different when the feds conduct their elections. huh undecided embarassed What is good for the goose is equally good for the Gander!!!! huh

Thank you my brother. Elections in most Federation is about local elections. People are interested who becomes their Governors, not who becomes their President. Having said that with Buhari as a candidate in APC most States in Southern Nigeria would vote Jonathan except probably Oshun State. In the North most of the North Central would vote Jonathan with a Buhari candidacy in APC.

The bottom-line is once people have cast their votes for their respective Governors the extra votes can go to anyone, the Presidential election is an un-necessary hindrance but rather than give this inconvenient vote to Buhari most Southerners would give it to a tried and tested Jonathan. That is a statement of fact

Alot of grammatical errors and blunders in the OP's post and yet the Mods nor anti-spambot,didn't bother to re-edit the errors before pushing it to the frontpage. Don't they know that alot of people develop their English diction and spelling from what the read online? Good English should be the watch-word. Despite the failures of this government. It remains to be said without prejudice that the Jonathan's Government has being the best Federal Government since 1979.

Achievements within a short while(bearing in might these projects could easily have awarded and nothing to show) the Naija way of doing things!!!- cool

1. Lagos - Kano rail link rehabilitated now running(although very slow but still functional)

2. Police College, Ikeja fixed after abandoned by all Federal Government since the initial construction of the edifice.

3. Abuja National Stadium- Fixed to be handed back to the Federal Government after undergoing massive renovation.

4. New Terminal Buildings at some Airports - Kano, Benin, Enugu(on-going " now an international Airport), Abuja and some others.

5. Work has started in the The Port- Harcourt to Maiduguri rail line

6. Kaduna - Abuja rail-road started(much modern and faster train, the project has gone far should be completed b4 2015-so they say! huh)

7. Roads are the biggest failure at the moment, (having said that the dangerous artery of road called the Benin- Lagos dual carriage road) has been fixed. Although the Abuja - Lokoja has been ongoing for more than 5 years now, and the Lagos - Ibadan seems to change hands regularly, hopefully the last contract awarded to Julius Berger and RCC would be honored.

8. Electricity has improved, some parts of Awka in Anambra State are even boasting of 24 hours light making a VC of the local University to commend the Federal Government.

9. The Political football issue of the Niger 2nd bridge crossing we hope this time, the ground breaking ceremony initializing the commencement of the project is not a "photo-shoot" session. The jury is still out on that project.

10. Overall this President has done better than all other President since 1979.

Kudos to Ebele Jonathan, keep up the good works and try to finish some of the projects highlighted, getting back into Aso Rock should and would be a smooth sailing if you can be judicious with our resources. Nigerians love a winning team. Concentrate on your work and see the people respond to your beck and call.

did the abia governor agree to it?
What Akpabio is trying to do in woo and transfer the commercial activity Aba is known for to Uyo by way of building a beautiful motorway connecting both cities. To be sincere with you, I think he should go ahead and build the road all the way to Aba. There would be technological(if that is the right word huh) ,industrial, and commercial transfer of know-how from garbage-infested Aba to a more enabling environment in Uyo. It would be a coup de tat against the chest beating Igbo's who believe they have the monopoly of business acumen and activities.
Politics › Re: Nigeria; Time To Ponder. by KnowAll(m): 5:10pm On Sep 13, 2013
To be sincere, I have always believe in one Nigeria, but the bottom-line, if this contraption called Nigeria is stifling our growth, whereby unqualified people keeps on running our nation, we might as-well split. So many European nations have been formed since the early 90's, countries like, Ukrian, Georgia, Macedonia, Kosovo, Coratia, Serbia, Moldovia, Estonia, e.t.c And if the Referendum goes well in Scotland and Spain, we should have Scotland and Catalonia.

The only continent that has been stuck in the past is Africa. Even at that, in our own back yard, Southern-Cameroon came out of Eastern region of Nigeria. Why were they given that referendum and other part of Nigeria has been denied the same referendum. Biafra tried to break-away we fought a war because of that. So why give Southern-Cameroon a referendum, I don't get it. If our attitude now is nobody leave the sinking ship, we might as-well claim back Southern -Cameroon. undecided

Or was it part of the Balewa regime's strategy to weaken the Eastern region!!!! huh I don't get it.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Is Jonathan the President of Southern Nigeria or Nigeria as a whole. I too noticed the way he shows his 'fangs' without hesitation when a southern Politician disagrees with him. How many miles is Duste to Lagos = 800 km.
How many miles is Dutse to Abuja = 450 km

[size=16pt]This gentleman with all intent and purposes, living 100's of miles from Lagos(the media capital of Naija and also doubling as the propaganda capital of the nation) and Abuja(the Political Capital) Has proven beyond reasonable doubt that he is the most astute, best Financial Manager amongst all the Governors in the nation, considering his low-income based allocation. He is the best when it comes to service-delivery to his people. He has transformed a dusty, back-water called Duste in particular and Jigawa State in general into a sahelian wonderland that one can only envy.

To have this kind of ingenious silent performer at the centre would be like " a second manna-from heaven ". Let us make it happen, Lamido has proven beyond reasonable doubt that he can deliver. What are we waiting for, that is our next President, so boys and girls let us get started.

Forget Fashola, Forget Akpabio, Forget Amechi and Forget Sullivan, Lamido is the real deal. He is a thousand times ahead of the aforementioned, so let us vote-in Lamido.

For a man d calibre of Governor to be involved in dishing out STD shows d man is not only morally bankrupt but it shows he has no scruples where he sticks his diiiiick into whether na ashaaaawoo punannii or vice versa. How could any developmental stride come out from such an unbalance individual.

Kogi has gone to d dogs for good.

It is strange d state gubernatorial elections were overturned in ekiti, oshun and edo state but not d prsidential elections so it means our courts allowed an ilegality to prevail in d presidential elections. If d Presidential elections were overturned like d Gubernatorial maybe Buhari would have been d one in Aso Rock and not clueless Jonathan.
