Please I would like to know if there is anyone who did his/her biometrics from the 1st to 6th of December using the standard visa application.

Please what is the status of your document if yes? Because I did mine on the 6th and on the 14th got a msg that my documents were at the DMC, but since then I haven't received any mail and no progress has been made so far.

If I mark 25,26dec and 1jan as holidays then I'd be left with 17 working days unless the count began from the moment my documents were received by the DMC.

Answers to my questions would be gladly appreciated.

Submitted biometrics Dec 2nd,via standard application, and till now no decision has been made. Called UKVI this morning and they just wasted my money giving me the usual run around, even after escalation over a week ago.

The best source info about these schools are on their websites, so go on and check the course details on the site. For details from a local perspective you can search for Nigerians who studied either UG or PG in those schools on LinkedIn. Connect with them and ask about their experience, most will be willing to give you advice.

Is there anyone who submitted biometrics since December 2nd,using standard that has received collection mail? VI or Ikeja.

TLS only observed 25th and 26th as their holiday. They worked on Friday, 27th.

TLS didn't work on Friday. Its even on the website that Friday was an extra day holiday for them.

What are you waiting for exactly? If your bank statement is already 28days old, then you can apply immediately, you don't need to wait for anything else. Appointment dates clear up really fast, so the earlier the better. There's no way you can book ahead, because on the date of your application submission your bank statement must be ready.

No problem. As long as the balance doesn't drop below the recommended amount.

I called UKVI they said they have already made decision since, they delay is coming from TLScontact.

When did you apply and submit biometrics pls. Did you use standard or priority?

I've not read specifically though, however, I've met someone who was requested to show evidence of maintenance funds at point of entry. So what happens in such a situation? I don't think it's worth the risk.

No you can not. The money is supposed to be available for your use WHEN IN THE UK, as such it is advisable to leave it AS IS till you're in country.

Whoever wrote this report is a stupid fool. All the numerous conjectures without proof. @BelleQ the online calculator puts the IHS for a one year MSc @450pounds. I paid $1012.50 for a 2yrs MSc a month ago, which comes roughly to about €750 which is 300+300+150 extra, so what are you saying.

450 seems right. 300 for a year, but your visa will be longer that 12months, maybe 14-16 months or so, that's the extra 150 on top. That's what I read anyways, I'm sure the seniors can explain better.

You cannot enter earlier than a month to program start.

compliment of the season guys. My cousin has her date of entry on the 27th December. She has booked the flight for 27th . But her school resumes 3rd of February. Hope she won’t have a problem at the point of entry.

You can only enter one month before the course start date.

Apparently, there was maintenance don on TLS site and this is the new look

I guess they want to use the break of the next two days to quickly upgrade, since UKVI won't be working either.

i think UKVI is lazy in processing application this xmas period so those who paid for priority are getting the "not staightfoward application " to cover up for them to turning it around quickly. Annoying because these priority paid a premium for it and are not getting any faster service

I actually suspected this was going to happen, that's why I didn't even bother with priority. I just did standard Jeje. My school is supposed to resume Jan 24th so I still have some time. I guess being a busy period the work load is more.

When did you submit your biometrics? Did mine since Dec 2nd and still a decision hasn't been made. Its up to them really.

quickly deposit enough money required in that account. They will debit you immediately. This happened to me last week.

Thanks I just realize the debit is retrying itself now.

Will be interesting to see if it enters voicemail if world remit will accept responsibility and pay regardless of voicemail

The load will most likely be pushed to you, as their claim will be they having an automated system. Since there's no way to tell if you entered the details manually or auto-filled the forms you'll have a hard time proving the error came from them.

@Zoey1 @justwise please advice. I called the UKVI and was billed the first time. Then a second bill came again, for the same call which was higher for reasons I don't know. Unfortunately the funds on the card was not enough to cover the bill and the payment was declined afterwards. How can I resolve this please?

Just received this email from world remit .........didnt know it was possible . How can you put in a bank details and they credit the wrong account . So what the point of putting in the bank details , SMH for world remit , now WR expect me to wait for up 60days for something that was their fault . Its a repeat transfer so i didnt put any bank detail but used what was saved and previously sent successfully .

WTH? Wow that's new. Never heard of something like this. Isn't their payment process automatic. How's it that the funds will go to another account? That's very strange. A recall now would mean they pulling the funds the account they paid into. I wonder what would happen if the owner has withdrawn already

I can imagine. Firstbank is becoming very lax these days. I guess their customer base is now large enough to allow them misbehave.

Since morning it not in my Naija account but World remit is saying its been paid despite me sending them a pdf copy of Naija bank statement showing no money

It's probably first bank. They've been acting crazy the past few days. I made a transfer via TransferWise also and it took almost 24hrs to reflect

Probably. It's not the right way, but when corruption is official what can you do. He might not need to grease though, if he can endear himself to a big shot he might be able to find his way. Back then in school, I had all my lecturers contacts and I chatted frequently with all of them. I know how many courses I had Bs turned to As even without intervention. Lecturers can be a bit more lenient when they have a personal relationship with you and you're not just a matriculation number to them.

You need to understand the dynamics of the university system. There are key decision makers in every department, sometimes they might not be the HODs or departmental officers, they might just be some senior lecturers or some big boy lecturer that has earned the respect of others. You need to identify that/those persons in your Dept, get them on your side by explaining things clearly and concisely to them, don't try to report one lecturer to another, it's always going to be you against them and they'll never side you. If you can get someone of considerable influence to your side, he can Curry favor for you and snooze the other people stressing you. Even if it means tipping him/her, buying wine or something, just do it. Nigerian educational system is bleeped up.

@kode12 @justwise please which one is utility bill of proposed accommodation? I am going to a school that does not have an on campus accommodation and I will have to find accommodation myself. How do I answer this question in the application form?

That's particular to my own application, you don't need any utility bills. You should have somewhere in my mind to stay till you get a more permanent accommodation though
