charlesemeka85: yes of course. He is already tagged as one of the best strikers in the world currently and winning the Apoty will elevate he’s status more
Not winning a major trophy with Nigeria can’t and won’t rob him of he’s achievements Ask Messi what World Cup meant to him.Fact most Argentines refused to give him due respect before he won WC. Osimehn winning Afcon and qualifies eagles to WC would be a landmark for his status. |

zicky: oga sir APOTY is a big deal oh. 1999 was the last time a Nigerian player won it. For me Osimhen winning the APOTY put him on a different level. I remember Ikpeba won APOTY… |

charlesemeka85: we don’t need strikers anymore
What we should be looking out for are midfielders (mostly CMs and CAMs) and center backs
Also goalkeepers I just don’t know what went wrong with Mikel, his retirement was too early and fact if he is still playing in championship or somewhere in Arab world or MLS,with this issue of CM and CAM,straight I will give him a recalling. The guy still look fitter and people were questioning is it true he has retired after legendary match between Chelsea and Bayern Munich.

Icon4s: Yes, I quite agree. Osimhen is hardly yet to achieve anything with the national team. Osimhen is just one goal short of Yakabu, three short of Odegbami and 17 short of Yekini. Barring any dip in form or long term injuries, he is looking on course to overtake Yekini. ...........but, just like many others, I still feel he is yet to attain his full potential for the national team. The Principe and Sao Tome games really helped his career. I don't know how many of such teams he will face for the rest of his career. Yekini was scoring braces against highly rated teams like Ivory Coast and Algeria back then. Osimhen is yet to taste any world cup action and yet to play in any AFCON final let alone to win it.
I still believe if Yekini was playing in today's football he will be ahead of Osimhen in the national team pecking order. Baba you nailed it….u Dey vacation right cuz u get time today. |

ChrisKels: How did Osimhen get the Captain armband? I don't think he is ripe for it. Ndidi handed it after got substituted.Osimehn was the most senior on the field at that moment. |

Joebie: We have another international break to arrange a max of 2 matches from October 9-17
Then we have two WC qualifiers on Nov 13 and Nov 20. That’s a possible max of 4 grade A matches before AFCON. Considering Zimbabwe and Lesotho are not great tests we must utilize the FIFA window in October if we are serious about winning the next AFCON. Sir Joebie, are you saying Lesotho and Zimbabwe are not great test in WC qualifier. |

Ayam in my house coke n beat me The two belonged to different era,so nobody is going to beat you on football matters or discourse….Nigeria want to see Osimehn influence in Afcon and world qualification, nothing more. Pls mirror Yekini against São Tomé and tell me how many goals he would have scored. |

Icon4s: Good morning Ladies and Gentlemen. Thanks for keeping up with the good work here.
With Victor Osimhen, hitting the 20goals mark for the Super Eagles, is it right to start a comparison between Osimhen and the Legendary Yekini? Yes of course but Osimehn need Afcon trophy,WC qualification irrespective of number of goals to be the real guy….even I don’t see APOTY as a big deal cuz am seeing him winning it…the koko is Afcon and World Cup qualification. |

ChrisKels: Taiwo Awoniyi is becoming too religious in the game for my liking. You lot should learn to keep your religions away from the game. Oh I understand wella…so do not take it serious bro.Awoniyi came from a very religious family where is a must for morning devotion and night prayer,so good that stardom didn’t take it away.Infact he is super eagles pastor and his colleagues revered him.

Many here no say I no Dey do tribal things which u re renowned for here 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Oga Charles,it has been long we turned things to tribal on this thread. If you don’t know people look at you as one of the major contributors here and you should understand the game better. Forgiveness said ‘by his grace” shouldn’t attract anything. It is obvious Osimehn is breaking Yekini record soon and I don’t see reason why Ajagun name should popped up on Zaidu and Bruno talk but you said NO it was Ndidi which I said okay, even Peseiro will not start Bruno over Zaidu based on São Tomé match. If you don’t know you are Elder here Oga Charles. |

Emma Babayaro should have been good to compliment his younger brother Cele but life happened to him. Emma lost out to coach and agent things and only Bonfrere Jo and Churchill Oliseh can explain better. Yes Wole Odegbami damn good but fizzled out.Patrick Okala was poor and I remembered how he failed us at Afcon 84 final. He replaced injured Peter Rufai who was outstanding.
