Oga Kog oo! I am just being emphatic nothing more, Egbon! What I meant is that our boys will still play for their club this coming weekend, even one has a match friday night. Had it been Sao Tome game was played on Thursday they could have time to rest and play a friendly on Tuesday before flying to their clubs. No team that played this Sunday is playing a friendly this week. Only those teams that played Thursday/friday are playing friendlies today/tommorow.
I watched Germany Japan on 9th and still playing France today and some countries too

We played on Thursday, then and played a friendly on Tuesday. Not even a Premier league team plays Sunday and Tuesday. We wan kill them!
I asked you simple question, has NFF done this before which one be we wan kill them,Oga Marjori, pls calm down with your tone…this is arena to talk football and learn from one another.

Teams playing friendlies today played their qualifiers Thursday/friday. We can't expect them to play on Sunday and still play today!
Sir,nothing stopped us having a friendly match after São Tomé even if not today.I thought NFF have done it before…

Oga Kog, how old was Yekini 93/94? 24 years?
Sir Marjori,as old eagles fan I will not go to that lane with you cuz my point is clearer on Yekini and Osimehn.

Why dem Yekini no beat Ghana for AFCON 1992 Semis? Imagine Ghana not having Partey and Kudus in midfiled during that match. I hate when people are economical with the truth. Ndidi and Iwobi unavailability cost us that game coupled with Bonke and Onyeka's injury during the game. Yet we didn't lose the game. No team will get a draw from us with that much injured midfielders!
Oga Marjori, abeg calm down,na we Nigerians Dey talk here….all here for eagles success.

Marjoribanks:
Your last paragraph is actually my argument. So why are you rating Yekini ahead of Oshimen? He could not even qualified the team to AFCON 1986 nor the World cup 86 while Oshimen qualified Nigeria to AFCON 2022 as the highest goal scorer. Oshimen has done more for Nigeria at 24 than Yekini. No more, no less!
Oga Marjori,Osimehn as at today has not done more than Yekini in eagles 🦅 Yekini 1993/1994 is left for Osimehn to beat….winning Afcon and taking us to WC which he has kick started on a brighter note.

Exactly, Ikpeba was really hot between 1995 and 98. He was Africa's hottest striker then. Playing for AS Monaco. He could have led the Super Eagles frontline and Nigeria could have won at least one of those two AFCONs (1996 and 98) considering the quality of players we had then.
As hot he was I don’t see him leading the line in 96afcon cus at Atlanta he was a second fiddle player

that one na for sure

I get hope say Lesotho 🇱🇸 go chop like 4 goals home and away from em hand during the World Cup qualifiers 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Then others fit manage 5 which will bring he’s goal tally to 29🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Then in afcon him fit net 4-5 goals depending how far the team goes bringing the total goals to 33-34 goals

How many goals come remain for the yekini record mk osimhen equal am?🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Nigeria World cup qualifier must be a team work not padding of goals cuz I remembered how France lost out during 1994 WC qualifiers, losing last two matches to Israel and Bulgaria.I will not forget how Italy lost out to North Macedonia….Abi you don forgot we lost to CAR and recently to Guinea Bissau at home.

Nigeria World Cup qualification cannot be traded for anything,South Africa is in our group and no way for Ghana episode again,it would be painful if we lost out to over confidence.

Perhaps the young man is showing strong leadership qualities. You know Osimhen goes hard. They say he takes his football very serious. And we all see his passion.

Only thing is that personally I like the captain to be either a goalkeeper or a midfielder. I don't fancy attackers being captains.
If you want to know important of captaincy in national team, just read about Stephen Keshi…..He came into eagles at 21 in 1981 and made Afcon Libya 82 but at 21 he was already eagles captain leading the seniors like Muda Lawal,Henry Nwosu to Afcon 84….When Onigbinde was asked about Keshi captain band he said that boy hate to lose.

Yes I watched.Baba Yekini and I absolutely respect him for what he achieved at the time he was.playing, by the time the world.took notice of him, age wasn't on his side and after the 94 WC he had an almost one year injury absence when he joined Gijon in Spain and like you said everything went downhill from there.because of age, injury and also Abacha's nonsense with the 96 AFCON. That said, individually I daresay Osimhen is our most successful and ever globally renowned top striker. He won the league in Italy, won the highest scorer in a top league like the Serie A and World over there is no argument that he is among the current world's best strikers and even player. With that, even if Osimhen doesn't win anything in Nigeria, his name is already etched in the history books.
Oga AndSunGorilla, even Osimehn will not agreed with you on this baba.

yes of course we shouldn’t as well downgrade the achievement of osimhen too as a young striker likely to surpass yekini 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Oga Charles,it seems you are not getting this discourse…the man icon4s is one of the leading Osimehn baba here and he threw a question “can we compare Osimehn with Yekini now and from individual’s contributions so far, nothing like disrespecting Osimehn.

Fact Osimehn will prefer to win Afcon and lead Nigeria to WC than missing out and win all time Nigeria highest goal scorer.Whether we like it or not Osimehn will soon be all time GOAT of Nigeria football cuz @24 he has the time.

Marjoribanks:
At 22 years (1986) where was Yekini! At 22 years Oshimen was already one of the best strikers in the world (AFON and World Cup qualifiers highest goal scorer) but missed the AFCON through injuries. At 20 years, Oshimen already had AFCON bronze.

At 24 years, he has achieved what Yekini could only dreamed of! At this stage of Yekini's life he can't lace Oshimen's shoe. And what Oshimen will achieve in the future will only be a pipe dream for Yekini.
Sir Marjori, pls don’t let us compare 80s or 90s regarding player development with what we are having now it’s wide apart,

Nigeria footballers in 80s find it so difficult to attract any meaningful transfer from overseas, then not easy at all

Rasheed Yekini and others find it so difficult to move out despite the talent.Infact as at 1990 Yekini was still doing it in Africa league despite his performances in Afcon 84 and 88,that performances today will attract good clubs.

I think Yekini and Osimehn belonged to different era but good we are having this discourse cuz we have seen a perfect striker in Osimehn.

Musa to get invites after the afcon will only be engineered by the big heads in the nff if not jpes won’t call him up

Left for jpes making the afcon team will be difficult for Musa

that omeruo too no go get invitation after next year’s afcon 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Jpes should start rebuilding the team gradually for 2026 World Cup by giving younger players a chance

I doubt the likes of Musa, ekong and omeruo will still be in great shape for the next World Cup

Tella should replace Musa while Igoh ogbu should take Omeruo’s place in the team after the afcon while Adarabioyo should replace ekong if he finally decides to switch allegiance to us
Yes it would be good for the team if the young ones can get invitations and tell us they are betters ….

Adarabioyo yes, ugochukwu no for now because we hv also a young onyedika who is better than him

Chukwuemeka being eligible to play for Austria doesn’t mk him not eligible yo play for us as well, he will be the one to mk the choice if he doesn’t mk the grade to play for England, moreover Nigeria is a better footballing country than Austria 🇦🇹

We need Madueke who will serve as a good understudy/cover to Samu. He is younger and should be the perfect replacement for samu
When he is injured or out of form
Oga Charles,Onyedika better than Ugochucwu is debatable Abi no be Lesley of Rennes that just moved to Chelsea, well he is France youth international but if he says yes to Nigeria then a cover for Ndidi and good for the future, having him and Onyedika good for Nigeria poor midfield.
