oga..so why is he now underperforming?
Hmmm,Iheanacho only can answer this question.Iheanacho development in Man city was awesome but moving to Leicester with Vardy performing week in week out limited him and seeing him in championship not good rating for a player we all thought would have been one of the world.

With prime Taribo,Babayaro and Kanu in that USA '94 team,Nigeria would have reached the final at least, but I'm not sure if Kanu would have been able to bench any of Siasia or Amokachi.

USA '94 was so good, yet I'm not sure we would have been able to win the world cup even if we were to get pass the Italians,
after taking some factors into considerations such as playing in d world final in our first attempt as a black nation and playing against Brazil, one of,if not most successful football nation at that time, and some other factors, winning the cup would have been an uphill task.

A lot of people have said that d USA '94 team would have won d world cup,but winning d WC is not that simple as having a very good squad.
Thank you bro but can prime Taribo bench ball playing Chidi Nwanu?can Babayaro benched Ben Iroha?can Kanu benched Amokachie or Siasia.

Nigeria would hv won the 98 edition comfortably because by then players that emerged from the 96 olympic team were already balling hard in europe

Baba forget that our 98 team too good. Players like Taribo, ikpeba, kanu, jay jay, finidi, babaginda, babayaro, oliseh etc were in their peak then

That team would hv crushed Africa in that year’s afcon edition

Also mind you that in afcon 2000 edition the team lost to Cameroon 🇨🇲 in the finals due to ill luck and bonfere Joe starting Ndukwe as the teams striker who he missed loads of opportunities in the first half before scoring in the second half when the team was 2-0 down already
1998 team that had injured Dan Amokachie,Emma Amuneke, off forms Austin Eguavoen,Ben Iroha, three poor goalkeepers and below par Rasheed Yekini.

Paraguay and Denmark matches should tell you that the team was over hyped and someone like me knew that the team will not make it based on poor friendlies matches or you forgotten 5-1 lost to Netherlands, beating Spain was a surprised to keen watchers of eagles.

US 94 team has just five minutes to go through and mind you nothing stopping that team reaching final if we beat Italy.

Rating that team 5th best in the world was not a joke.

in terms of achievement I give it to the US 94 team but when it comes to the team with more talented players playing in top clubs in europe the 96 Olympic team and the 98 World Cup team were superior in all angle

Also remember the team didn’t participate in afcon 98 edition because of issues between Nigeria and South Africa who were the host and I bet you that if that team played in that competition they would hv won it without losing any game

The only edge the 94 team hv ahead of the 98 team was winning the afcon
Pls compare their World Cup performances not winning afcon….mind you US 94 team had 60% with Atlanta 96 had 45% players that made South Africa afcon squad until Abacha stopped our participation..Yes Nigeria would have won Afcon 96 but I doubt that of 1998 afcon cuz the same team failed to win Afcon 2000.

The point was which was the better team. You clearly are saying Atlanta 96 were a better team. They broke into the Super Eagles early because they were highly talented. Far more talented that the Siasia team.

How can a team you tag average be better than a team you believe were of high quality?
Yes average team do beat talented team?yes or no….my point Siasia team reached the final with average team compared to semi super eagles players that won Atlanta 96.

Atlanta still got it cuz the team won but I’m more impressed with Sia team.

maybe to you but to me I rate the 96 Olympic and France 98 World Cup ahead of the US 94 team
Nigeria US 94 team was rated 5th best in the world and won afcon the same year, well my opinion.

Siasia Olympic squad can't compare to Atlanta team. I doubt any of Saisia's boys would bench any Atlanta starter in their primes.

Finally, we are talking of the full package.

The Atlanta team were a better side than 94 world cup team.

Thanks for the correction of Akpoborie.
Well Siasia team not winning gold medal with very average team was a minus comparing to gold winning Atlanta 96 with 60% of Super eagles players.

A team was rated 5th best in the world and U23 winning gold medal was better…my man I disagree.

atalanta 96 and France 98 teams are the best we hv ever assembled

The main core of that Olympic team formed the 98 World Cup team that stayed together until afcon 2000

Aside winning the Olympics that team under achieved judging by the caliber of players it had

If not for the diplomatic issues the Nigerian govt led by abacha had with South Africa 🇿🇦 that team would hv won 98 afcon undefeated. Almost achieved the feat in 2000 but was unlucky against the indomitable lions of 🇨🇲 in the finals
My point,I will never rate an age tournament better than Super eagles US 94 team performance….till date Cameroon Italian 90 still best and the team was never compared to Cameroon Sydney 2000 team.

I will still take our Atlanta team over 1994.

Kanu Nwankwo
Jay Jay Okocha
Wilson Oruma
Sunday Oliseh
Taribo West
Celestine Babayaro
Tijani Babangida
Victor Ikpeba
Mobi Oparakwu
Uche Okechukwu
Jonathan Akpoborie
Atlanta 96 was under 23 with three over aged players but I preferred US 94 team….the Atlanta 96 should be compared with Siasia 2008 Olympic team.Infact am more impressed with Siasia team than Atlanta 96 team that has US 94 men Uche Okechucwu,Dan Amokachie,Austin Okocha,Sunday Oliseh,Emma Amuneke,Victor Ikpeba and already debutant Super eagles players like Kanu Nwankwo,Celestine Babayaro,Taribo West,Tijani Babangida.

Jonathan Akpoborie didn’t make Atlanta 96.

oga.. the best team Africa ever showcased in the world stage was the 1994 team..go and ask sport pundit.. that team should have won the world cup.. what happened still remains a mystery..team that was ranked no 5 in the world.. who is awoniyi. mtcheww
Who is Awoniyi?Taiwo Awoniyi is a player that came back from injury and scored six goals in eight matches to go.Infact he scored Liverpool,Chelsea and Arsenal with braces.

All those players you've mentioned are average players.. can you compare any one of them to kanu And co? Please go and watch the USA 94 team.. it on YouTube
Pls tell me which clubs Mike Emenalo,Uche Okafor,Thompson Oliha,Stephen Keshi,Austin Eguavoen,Peter Rufai,Samson Siasia,Rashidi Yekini,Uche Okechucwu are playing for and their stats prior to US 94 and compare with what we have now…I think our present team need real tactician who understands the game to bring the bests out of them.

Westerhoff did justice to US 94 team that have average players cuz he gave them the confidence that “you can do it”

The team lost to a ten man Italian team cos Amokachi and amuneke did not have adequate replacement. Even Yekini does not have a great substitute. Rest this talk guy man cos you were not even alive then. Name calling Kanu shows you know nothing about that team. Even Bulgaria that we defeated got to the semi finals. That team failed. Simple.
I thought Westerhoff ego didn’t helped us against Italy for benching Samson Siasia against Italy.Siasia started the first three matches and was awesome with a goal against Argentina.

We lost that match not cuz of lacked of replacement but a silly mistake by Sunday Oliseh. The team was solid in all positions to the extent a gatecrasher Mike Emenalo fitted in perfectly for injured Ben Iroha.

The truth of the matter is thst this governors sharing boundaries with Niger would never tell him the truth, the only option left is dialog, and Dialog could only come from someone the Nigerian soldiers respect, and that person is the former president Goodluck Jonathan. Even Tinubu himself will not be respected by the coup plotters, reasons that he is like them, he took power by force.
I don’t know that Tinubu took power from Buhari by plotting a coup. Some of us are bad losers and our comments always pointing to our emotions and sentiments.
