femianski: Sir, Ikeme didn't send Enyeama into retirement. Enyeama retired himself Sir,Oiseh already made up his mind on Ikeme as his number one just like Vogts preferred Ejide over Enyeama. Oliseh lack of managerial ability didn't let us see good rivalry between Carl Ikeme and Vincent Enyeama. |

zicky: I think it should be 12 goals that season, kanu was a very important player for the super eagles and can't be compared to Musa, go watch the match he played against South Korea at 2010 World cup Kanu Nwankwo was sparingly used in 2010 world cup. My man am not comparing but what am saying he doesn't have much to offer again after we failed to qualify for 2006 WC irrespective of his club form. Sir you can't compare Kanu of super eagles 1996-2004 with Kanu of 2006-2010,hope you get my point....Good morning. |

zicky: This is not true 2007 season kanu was Portsmouth highest goal scorer with 20goals, 2008 season he lead them to their only fa cup victory, how then did he lost his mojo in 2006 I rated Kanu highly club wise but in super eagles he lost it in 2006. Kanu scored 20 goals in 143 apoearances for Portsmouth not 20 goals in a season. |

Was Carl as good as okoye when he was in the latters current age?
Was uzoho as good as okoye when he was of his age?
U all fail to remember that okoye is just in his second season of top flight football. He is just 22 and for a keeper he is even not close to his prime so mk una chill Sir,Carl Ikeme the man that sent highly rated Enyeama into retirement was better than Okoye in his age. I followed Ikeme for years before joining eagles and I want to tell you that he was damn good.Stephen Keshi started the process to cap Carl before he was sacked. mostob: Yann sommer was one of the top performer for Switzerland during Euro. . Two days ago, he denied Italy an automatic qualification by saving Jorginho's last minute penalty.
Arsenal's defence couldn't contain leceister's forwards but Ramsdale was there to save them.
Can we count on Okoye to save the team at crucial times?
If na Ezenwa dey perform like Okoye, some people would be insulting him by now. As jittery as Akpeyi is, I'm more comfortable with him than this Okoye. Maduka Okoye has not impressed me for once in eagles colour but his young age keep on telling me that he would be a good keeper in no distance future. I know Maduka is not better than Uzoho whom I don't rate too but do we have options in goalkeeping dept.?NO....thank God the two are still young. |

andrewbaba44: Akpoguma is a cb normally nah ,because say he Dey play RB this days no mean say e no be CB The big question can Awaziem or Akpogunma do it well in 4-4-2 or 4-3-3 formation cos have seen the duo performing extremely well in 3-5-2. If I have my way I will pair Balogun and Awaziem or Akpogunma cos I still see Balogun as our best CB. |

charlesemeka85: all I am saying is him playing as a rb against us at the u20 World Cup doesn’t imply it’s his primary position
Dude is just versatile just like awaziem Baba am a very good fan of Akpoguma but I can tell you that he is always deployed as right side defender in 3-5-2 formation and in U20 he played all through as RB. If you can convince me that it's not true no wahala I accept my bad and learn more... |

fabyom: Angola didn't beat us 1-0 in Kano. The 1-0 was in Angola when most of our players declined invitation. When Okocha and Kanu were picking matches to play and we paid dearly for it. Really surprised seeing Kanu played till 2010,he lost his mojo back in 2006 but keeping on getting preferential treatment just like what Ahmed Musa is enjoying now. |

charlesemeka85: him playing there because of injuries at hoffenheim doesn’t mk him a wing back or rb
Kevin is a cb, a position he has played right from karlsruhe youth team and German u20 to 21 teams Charles he started as RB and I remember vividly during U20 WC he was deployed as RB. Balogun and Ekong partnership cannot be distorted like that,is either Balogun stay and Awaziem or Akpogunma pairing him. Awaziem as a CB for eagles was not that impressived but the new Awaziem am seeing now should pair Balogun and let see what he can do....As I always saying Ekong can never make my team. |

Mujtahida: No difference whatsoever. Any nation will most likely say the players of the past are better than their present crop of players. Brazil will say so, France will say so, Netherlands will say so, Spain will say so. It's no excuse for the coach to keep seeing his team as losers. You work with what you have.
Westerhof did not have the best players in Algiers 90 but he got to the final. Later He promised to deliver 94 and he did. It is all about his mentality. And then all those players you mentioned, apart from Amokachi, Finidi, and Yekini the others were not regulars for their clubs as at Westerhof's Era. Jay was usually a sub in Eintrach Frankfurt, Sia was not frequent for Nantes, Oliseh in Belgium was just picking up.
How come Keshi won Afcon 2013 with carpenters and farmers at least compared to this current crop of players? Faith and Belief. Rohr has no belief. Rohr is just the issue....if Semi Ajayi joined Real Madrid today,Rohr would hand over starting shirt to him but Westerhoff would tell you that Semi is not better than Balogun despite playing for madrid.....Westerhoff knew that Samson Siasia was not that lucky when it comes to club career but far better than Richard Owubokiri and Mike Obiku. Imagine starting below average Collins who just returned from injury over Aina during Afcon but some will cite Aina performance against Cameroon but would Collins have done better?NO and funny enough the same Collins lost to Sanusi just cos he signed for Porto, till today I don't know difference between Sanusi and Collins. During Westerhoff days you need to prove yourself that you can do it.I remember Tijani a Europe based could not bench local boy Finidi George...Ikpeba find it difficult to bench Africa based Amuneke. |

Nigeria Predicted XI (4-3-3): Maduka Okoye (GK); Zaidu Sanusi, Leon Balogun, William Troost-Ekong, Ola Aina; Frank Onyeka, Wilfred Ndidi, Joe Aribo; Alex Iwobi, Kelechi Iheanacho, Victor Osimhen.
This starting XI looks interesting with Arlbo and lwobi occupying the wing positions. Ola Aina should compete with Sanusi and Collins. He does it better as LB. Awaziem should start but why not 3-5-2. |

charlesemeka85: Super Eagles goalkeeper Maduka Okoye will move to Premier League side Watford at the end of the season, Dutch side Sparta Rotterdam have confirmed on their official website.
The Rotterdam-based aide will reportedly receive around seven million euros for Okoye which will make the Nigerian shot-stopper the most expensive goalkeeper sale in the history of the club.
Details shortly.

I remember Emenalo left Enugu Ranger to study in Boston university just like Jonathan Akpoborie who had his education in university of Buffalo ,after his education he continued with his professional career and cap it with US 94 appearance. I always appreciating Mike Emenalo and Jonathan Akpoborie cos it is not easy to pursue university education and still came back as a thorough professional, especially Akpoborie who still remain Nigeria best in bundesliga. |
