zuchyblink: you are arguing out of context I never said they are not experienced but I was comparing them to Ighalo,Nacho and Osimehn. Rohr prefers these three for now Zuchy man....out of context indeed...i love you cos you are a smart guy but you should know that some of us here get third eyes. |

Maduka Okoye Awaziem Chiedozie Ola Aina Wilfred Ndidi Leon Balogun Kevin Akpoguma Frank Onyeka Dennis Emma Ayodele Aribo Taiwo Awoniyi Chidera Ejuke..... pls 12large give me good formation with this team. **though not sold on Ndidi/Onyeka starting together but as some always insisting that they can do it together and with Onyeka form,he is unplayable. ***Osimehn out injured. |

fabyom: We were lucky at that tournament. Vicmo coming on to cause 2 penalties against Ethiopia in the last 10 minutes was our saving grace. You should know that the team performance in the group stages was so porous that Keshi's sack letter was already drafted before we played Ivory coast. Against the Ivorians, Vicmo, Mikel, Omeruo, Eyeanma, Onazi, and Emenike had the game of their lives helped with a little luck. We were not spectacular but fortunate. That team should not be the standard! Oga Faby, pls remove the word "LUCKY" the team earned it and won 2013 Afcon with a class....the team started slowly and gained momentum from quarter finally till final....in the group stage there was a missing link in the midfield,Fegor Ogude and Nosa Igiebor were not doing enough,Joseph Yobo needed to be replaced by Kenneth Omeruo,Brown Ideye was brought in to pair Emma Emenike and IK Uche wasn't ready to play as Keshi wanted...it took the introduction of Onazi and Sunday Mba to brought the needed stability to the team. Hope you remember that Afcon 2019 team struggled too during group stage even lost to Madagascar....Afcon 1990 we lost to Algeria 5-1 but Westerhoff did the needful aftermath and went to final. 2013 Afcon won it with pure class, pls go and watch Nigeria Mali semi final match again,it has been long Nigeria had such dominance in a game of such magnitude. |

Icon4s: You are right egbon.
Emmanuel Dennis and Taiwo Awoniyi (especially with Osimhen out) are TESTED enough to be invited for the AFCON.
You don't need any AFCON experience to excel at the AFCON. Besides, where experience (national team caps) counts more is in the defense. Over 90% of the 2013 AFCON winning squad were playing in the AFCON for the first time.
You get the best from forwards when they are still young and have a lot to prove. Chief haha kilode....don't tell me it is naija economy o....man no dey see you again...well done baba. |

efighter: He was never a godfather. There is no godfather that will lose all elective position to a "foreigner"
He lost the governorship seat for his stooge He lost the 3 Senatorial seats. He lost the 6 House of Reps seats. He lost 39 out of 40 State Assembly seats. The only one he won was through the Court.
That isn't a godfather, but a goatfather. By the time O'TOGE enter Lagos you go know what's up. |

I'm saying this cos i remember that Ogenyi Onazi vs France injury, and how things fell apart. I'm sure anyone will understand my POV. Baba all depends on a coach....I remember sometimes Muttiu stood in for Oliseh and surprisingly Garba Lawal stood in for Oliseh during Olympics semi final against Brazil. |

Danielnino00: Instead of spending so much time on searching for a creative midfielder, why not just tweak the team to switch creativity from midfield..
Apart from Okocha, Nigeria has never really produced that many creative midfielders... Creative midfielders aren't really our thing...But you see the wings, that's our thing...Attacking from the flanks...It's our style..
Somebody suggested that we go the Liverpool way, and I support it... We have the players to make it work... Aina is an attacking minded full back.. Zaidu isn't so bad going forward too..
Let's try a 4-3-3
Okoye
Aina Akpogunma Balogun Zaidu
Ndidi Onyeka Aribo
Chukwueze Osimhen Ejuke
Ndidi as the DM, Onyeka as a RCM and Aribo as LCM...
It's much better than the conservative style Rohr is so in love with... Oga we have pool of players that can fit into any formations but where is the coach. |

12large1: Any good reason why you cannot? Remember how makalele and Veira partnership for France? It was successful. Maybe, we can replicate similar feat between ndidi and frank Large baba, you are right but do we have extra ordinary player in the midfield to cover up....pls can Aribo or Iwobi do the needful. |

Subzero047: Who is creating rivalry here if I may ask, the guy made an observation about Awoniyi's weaknesses una turn am from downplaying Awoniyi to creating rivalry, na wa for una for this thread Sir,first question, what prompted that post....a goal against Leipzig and next was pressing issue, stamina,he has not done it in a big stage, comparison with Osimehn and Haaland.I think the timing of that comment lead to reactions, nothing more....no one created the rivalry but the original post. |

Meliforme: Why? We need more creative in the midfield than choke the midfield with two DM irrespective of their style of play....unless we want to seal up a game.....like our match against Argentina at 2018 WC,someone like Onyeka would have seal the match for us by replacing Mikel or Etebo. |
