Humility017: but alampasu has not been playing naaa he doesn't even merit to be looked into...because he has been inactive. Pls try and read my original comment then you would understand better coz sometimes am always lost here,i thought we are here for football analysis and discussion. I think am not Rohr who said inactive Alampasu is among the five keepers is considering for WC,pls be logical on this,am i Rohr who named him,so what a fuss. It seems some don't even understand why we are here, takes things personally and always emotive and sentimental in their thinking as if we are here to fight. Pls am very sorry to say this, have been following Eagles since 1980 so i just don't talk or saying anything for sake of it. Ask icon4s or goldfish80, am always against Alampasu calling cos i believe so much on Akpeyi until Argentina match changed my mind. I will not deceive you i don't rate Alampasu. |

Another post came saying Rohr will attached trainer to all the keepers and i modified my comment,so what a fuss and what Sir forgiveness got to do with it,that's my biggest headache. |

Rohr is the coach. Even at the moment he can rate some keepers higher than the others. It’s his job to make judgements like that. No wahala but i believe. as a fan I have every right to take a critical look at the team,so nobody business,my opinion doesn't disturb your opinion that warrant 'you are talking like forgiveness',that was just the painful part of your comment. tbaba1234: Yes..
You can not beat playing regularly.
Maduka trains with the first team regularly. Infact, he was one of the keepers that went with the first team players to their winter camp. He has also made the bench for the team A.
The difference is that he is constantly playing, you can't beat that. OK sir you are on point at least Maduka is playing constantly with U 18 youth team and Alampasu is just training with team A. It's a pity we find ourselves in this serious mess, considering very lower leagues keepers for Eagles. I don't rate Uzoho, Alampasu and Maduka but what do we do when keeper like Akpeyi is not convincing. Eagles don suffer regard goalkeeping. Good luck to the team |

A young keeper of Alampasu's age should be getting games, making mistakes and learning from them. That is how we grow. He should have pushed for a loan deal instead of this inactivity. My man nothing to say again, hope to see wonderful eagles with solid keeper at WC. |

I think am one of the moniker including goldfish80 and icon4s who always question Alampasu inclusion in the team and i remember Thegoodjoe always defend Alampasu. But when truth need to be told we must say it without fear cos attaching trainer to Uzoho and Maduka alone is unfair to other keepers and it can cause acrimony in the team, thank God Rohr has made a bold statement towards the issue. that was how thegoodjoe insinuated that he didn't forsee rohr inviting Joel obi with reasons like rohr likes multipurpose players, and that rohr likes his midfielders been able to play anywhere mildfield.. But rohr has extended invitation to him against all odds..
nobody here should state authoritatively who rohr likes rates and dislikes because u can never be so sure and u 're surely gonna get dissapointed . His quality is not in doubt, injury is our concern. After Mikel, Joel Obi is the next big thing in our midfield. My oga,pls read my comment again cos it doesn't deserve this reply. TheSuperNerd: And the GK conundrum continues.... I told you nothing is guaranteed even with the Pionetti-Uzoho special link up... it all boils down to the friendlies for us all here
No Automatic Shirt For Uzoho – Rohr
https://www.thebreakingtimes.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Francis-Uzoho.jpg
Super Eagles technical adviser, Gernot Rohr has insisted that there is no automatic shirt for Deportivo La Coruna goalkeeper, Francis Odinaka Uzoho, in his World Cup team list.
Rohr, who recently deployed goalkeeper trainer, Pionetti Enrico to personally train Uzoho in Spain, ahead of World Cup friendly matches against Poland and Serbia next month, debunked insinuations that the step was to give the former Golden Eaglets save hands preferential attention ahead of other goalkeepers for the national team.
And there have been reports that Uzoho has been penciled down by the Franco-German coach as Super Eagles first choice goalkeeper for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
Rohr on Tuesday in a radio programme in Lagos, Megasport, ruled out the possibility of Uzoho automatically taking over the Eagles’ number one shirt without working for it, as he said the keeper is still very young and is now third choice in the roll call of shot-stoppers at Deportivo.
He further explained that similar attention will be given Portugal-based Dele Alampasu as well as the home-based duo of Ikechukwu Ezenwa and Dele Ajiboye, adding that there is no automatic shirt for any player including the goalkeepers.
He said another trainer of the national team goalkeepers and ex-international, Alloy Agu has been assigned the duty to tinker Ezenwa and Ajiboye, while Enrico will soon travel to meet Alampasu.
Nigerian fans are, however, still worried, despite the array of goalkeeping options available to Rohr, that the department remains a grey area for the tactician who has also acknowledged its lack of depth.
Recently, Rohr ruled out a return for former team captain, Vincent Enyeama, whose last top-flight action came in January 2017, and Carl Ikeme is still receiving treatments for leukaemia.
Enrico, who joined the three-time African champions six months ago, has already started working on further developing the young Uzoho ahead of the global showpiece.
Last year November, Uzoho was handed his debut in Nigeria’s friendly against Argentina in Krasnodar. The 19-year-old kept the second half of the game as the west African side came back from a 2-1 deficit before the break to secure a 4-2 victory. The former Golden Eaglets second choice, behind Alampasu at UAE 2013 FIFA U-17 World Cup, has kept 10 clean sheets out of 14 matches for the Deportivo B side this campaign and has also played twice in the Spanish top-flight, making his bow against Eibar on October 15.
Rohr submitted: “Uzoho is working hard, but he is only third choice keeper at La Coruna, and very young. Let’s work on all our goalkeepers.
“We will give the same attention to Alampasu, Alloy Agu will work on the local lads as well. We will work equally with all the goalkeepers we have available, even with Daniel Akpeyi in South Africa.”

Icon79: And this brings me back to the questions, why hasn't any of these goalkeepers been given a tryout with the Super Eagles? The way things work in Nigeria is bizarre. I heard that Ezenwa is not even the first choice goalkeeper in this team. Hence, if he isn't the best goalkeeper in his team, how in the world did he become the Super Eagles keeper?
Why haven't Alloy Agu, Salisu Yusuf, and the other home based SE coaches taken the time to monitor the national league and pick out the best two goalkeepers in NPFL? There's no doubt in my mind that Daniel Akpeyi and Ikechukwu Ezenwa are NOT the best goalkeepers in Nigeria.
O pari I think Ezenwa and Ajiboye just returned after CHAN and Ezenwa is injured right now and new at Enyimba but truth be told it would not be easy for him to displace Fataou Dauda. |

However, since he showed promise in the friendly match, Rohr made a good decision by sending his assistant to give him a real tryout to determine whether he's the true deal. In addition, we don't have the resources to assign personal trainers to all the goalkeepers at the same time .... we only have one real goalkeeper trainer.
O pari ....don't let Alloy Agu hear this(we only have one real goalkeeper trainer)but another coach is being sent to monitor Maduka?are they saying better to be keeping in youth team than be in main team as a youth player, this is unfair to Dele Alampasu. https://www.completesportsnigeria.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/20180207_174804_600x340.jpg
Super Eagles captain Mikel Obi has admitted that it is a big challenge leading the three-time African champions at the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia and Tianjin TEDA in the Chinese Super League. Mikel, who is set to make his second appearance at the FIFA World Cup, will lead Tianjin TEDA out in his second season in the Chinese Super League as captain this Saturday against Hebei CFFC.
“It is a daunting challenge and I’m looking forward to both teams (Tianjin TEDA and Nigeria) doing well, but now I’m totally focused with Tianjin TEDA” Mikel told sports.163.com .
'It will be a long year for me. Now I have all my energy in Tianjin Teda for the new season, I'll wait until after the start of the World Cup, I will transfer the same to the Nigerian team... ''This year I have been well prepared to deal with the Super League and the World Cup, these two events for the two teams, I will certainly be balanced.
“I am looking forward to Tianjin TEDA achieving good results in the Super League and I also hope that Nigeria can go farther and better in the World Cup.
“The Super League is much more difficult than I thought, but since I came to play in the Super League, they have such a strength as foreign teams as well.”

tbaba1234: Eagles’ Goalkeeping Crisis: Rohr sends Trabelsi to monitor Maduka Okoye
In a bid to make sure the Super Eagles are strong and ready to compete on all fronts at the World Cup on Russia, Coach Gernot Rohr has sent his assistant, Nabil Trabelsi to monitor the performance of Fortuna Dusseldorf shot-stopper, Maduka Okeye with the aim of keeping the 18-year-old as a backup if the need arises.
AOIFootball.com can authoritatively report that the Franco-German is keen on selecting the best hands for the nation, with him wanting a stiffer competition for current number one Ikechukwu Ezenwa who has been deputizing well since the absence of Carl Ikeme last year.
Rohr had already sent goalkeeper trainer Enrico Pionetti to Spain to monitor Deportivo de la Coruna shot-stopper Francis Uzoho ahead of the friendly matches against Poland and Serbia.
However, Maduka is not expected to be named in the Eagles’ squad for next month’s friendly as the NFF are yet to make a formal approach for the German-born goalkeeper.
Similarly, Chippa United goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi is expected to be handed another chance to impress the Super Eagles’ coaches after his dismal outing in the last game against Argentina.
http://aoifootball.com/2018/02/27/eagles-goalkeeping-crisis-rohr-sends-trabelsi-to-monitor-maduka-okoye/ I do not understand what is really going on with this goalkeeping issue and with this news am really confused cos it seems Rohr doesn't rate the likes of Ezenwa, Ajiboye and Alampasu, for God sake sending a coach to monitor Maduka as back up?for who?Uzoho another rookie or Akpeyi. I think time to tell Rohr to concentrate and work with what is available, monitoring Maduka shows something is amiss for considering a keeper of that status, honestly my fear is increasing daily, yesterday clips on Uzoho wasn't encouraging and now Maduka. I can bet it with anyone if care is not taken the goalkeeping issue would be our greatest obstacle at WC,going for Maduka as backup,a regional league keeper equivalent of division four and always in and out of the team and keeping for U 18 team is out of it.A fifth rated keeper at Fortuna Dusseldorf,No eagles doesn't deserve this no matter the situation. But am really surprised that some were praising this development,NO.We should be realistic on some issues and call a spade a spade, enough of this charade on goalkeeping. I think some see Rohr as a tin god and anything he does is right, surprising seeing guys suggesting lifetime contract for him, easy my people, his only achievement so far is WC qualification which is commendable but not new to Nigeria fans. A well convincing performance at WC is the key to his rating not even necessary to reach quarter final but over all performance of the team at WC would determines his stay as Eagles coach, forget recent contract extension, super eagles's job is one of the toughest in the world when coach failed to meet up with fans expectations. |
