BascoVanVeli: I said this to someone recently, Moses is becoming more of a full back than winger. It is great for Chelsea but I'm not so sure about the Super Eagles Yes you are right but Moses i saw against Man utd need to work on his final delivery, anytime around man u box he lost idea,so i don't see him as a full back in eagles with availability of Shehu,Aina,Ebuhei and Idowu. |

Icon4s: Are you saying you don't know there are a lot of 15 -17 years olds currently playing in the NPFL?
Two notable clubs: MFM and Kano Pillars.
I am also sure you know the 15 years old Nur of Elkanemi.
2 years from now, will those boys still not qualify for to play the U20? Oga icon4s i think some people see it as a sin to be in NPFL for so long even if the player is damn good. Pls check out Sunday Rotimi,do we say Akpeyi,Ezenwa and Ajiboye are better than him?NO but if Rohr call him,the first question that would be on people's lips is age forgetting that he is a solid keeper with experience of NPFL and European football. I think we need more update on truly young players in NPFL league so that even if they spent 4 years in the league nobody would cry foul when they are call to national team. |

Oasis007: Oxford and Cambridge Dictionaries define the word "FLOP" As completely unsuccessful, fail totally. Thus I'm very right to view it as a bad Word; to describe Oliseh Stints at Juventus and Dortmund respectively sir.
Ahmed Musa wasn't a FLOP at Leicester City Sir. He had 21 Caps with 2 Goals in his first Season but lost out his Berth in the First Team due to tactical Reason.
The Player you called a FLOP is playing Week in, week out on Loan at CSKA Moscow in the same he lost his Position in the first Team of his Parent Club.
You are a FLOP when you are given Chance(s) but steadily fluffing it. Iheanacho didn't fluff the Chances he's got so far, hence he can't be tagged as a FLOP.
Smalling, Bakayoko are tagged as Flops despite being regular so far this Season, thus you can't justify a Player as a FLOP based on playing Time only Sir.
Sir....... he was never a FLOP, not a LEGEND either at both Clubs. Yes Oxford and Cambridge can described it as something terrible but in football World a flop doesn't mean player is bad but a player who couldn't meet up despite club expectations on him, such player can go to another club and had it so good. Oh Iheanacho not a flop,i still repeat it let his situation not changed then you would understand better. Pls what has Musa recent performance at CSKA got to do with being a FLOP at Leicester. Salah till today is referring to as Chelsea FLOP despite not given the chance to impress, but if a player is not given chance meaning someone is keeping that player on the bench or do you think coaches do it intentionally. Sir,if Oliseh who had just 8 appearance for Juventus in a season was not a FLOP then let's move on. |

Uzoho said he's 19....... Sir is it possible to have different ages on two international e passport. I don't think age issue is peculiar to NPFL alone cos i have guys working with some football academy in Nigeria that are in habits too,so do we say Uzoho is 19 just cos he moved from academy. My man as you said let's leave it at that and move on |

goldfish80: I would disagree with you. A goalkeeper isn't too old to have a personal trainer. Petr Cech has a clause in his contract that he will move to Arsenal with his personal trainer. I know Buffon and Courtois have personal trainers (too lazy to dig up their names). There's a reason why the best in the business always have their personal trainers. Sir two things now,I don't think Cech,Buffon and Courtois have their national team trainer with them,so i based my point on national team trainer not personal trainer. Mind you Ezenwa have personal trainer cos i read it somewhere saying he is working with his trainer to be fit for march friendlies especially on his injury. |

Oasis007: Except you will agree with me that Iheanacho is a FLOP at Leicester City presently, Musa also was a FLOP at the same Club before he sought for a loan Move to CSKA Moscow, cos contending with established Players as a new Signing with limited Chances ain't a FLOP He was signed to compete with established Players like Zidane, Antonio Conte, Simone Perotta, Edgar David, but couldn't displace them because they are better than him - simple.
Yes..... he had 53 Apps with Dortmund but are you intentionally writing off his 34 Apps on Loan with Bochum within the same 5 Seasons Sir?! I need to remind you that his 5th Season was inconclusive because he was released for a Disciplinary Reason. The below are the Breakdowns of his Apps in with Dortmund and Bochum.
First Season at Dortmund (2000/2001) He played 22 Times (in his debut Season), bar Injury and Suspension he was a regular Starter - that wasn't FLOP.
In his 2nd Season (2001/2002) Season that Dortmund won the Bundesliga and a Runner up in UEFA Cup, he had 18 Caps while fiercely competing with an emerging Talent - Tomas Rosicky. That's not FLOP either.
In his 3rd Season (2002/03), he only played twice because He lost his starting Berth to Tomas Rosicky, thus he sought for a Loan to Bochum in January 2004 where he played 12 Times. Meaning; he only played half Season at Dortmund.
In his 4th Season (2003/2004), he was still with Bochum and was a regular in the first XI in and played 22 Times. Meaning; he didn't spend all the 5 Years at Dortmund, 21/2 was spent on Loan.
In his 5th Season (2004/05), he returned to Dortmund and had 11 Caps before he was sacked in March 2004 for head butting teammate Vahid Hashemian while on loan at VfL Bochum allegedly over racial remarks.
Sunday Oliseh wasn't a FLOP at Juventus and Dortmund if the whole Story and Stats were put into Consideration Sir. Sir the word FLOP doesn't portray a player in bad light cos it seems you are seeing the word as bad and not good to describe a player. Yes Musa was a big FLOP at Leicester and if Iheanacho situation doesn't change at Leicester he would be termed FLOP.If not for Victor Moses sudden rise at Chelsea, what do you think they would call him if he has left Chelsea two season ago. My man Sunday Ogechuckwu Oliseh was a FLOP at Juventus and Dortmund |

goldfish80: I wish Ezenwa got the same attention Uzoho is getting with the personal trainer. Ezenwa would have stood in good stead and better prepared for this world cup if the Italian Gk trainer was working closely with him at Enyimba. The guy is very coachable that's for sure. Do they really need goalkeeper trainer at their clubs. Uzoho issue is under stable cos Rohr have seen what some us have been saying and only way to go about it is to have his goalkeeper trainer to him just cos of his level of experience and age. I don't think Akpeyi and Ezenwa need any special trainer again, they have attained the age and experience in goalkeeping that they just need to be playing week in week out. My major issue is Ezenwa, can he displace Fataou Daudou in Enyimba cos the guy is damn good from his clips have watched. I would not deceive you Aigbogun must just have to be sentimental by given Ezenwa enough playing time and i believe this should be part of his contractual agreement with Enyimba. |

MetalJigsaw: True talk. Ezenwa really messed up in that game Yes he need to adjust in his decision making. If you look at what lead to his injury against Angola is avoidable cos instead of going with his hand he went with his legs, and on a good day some referees would give penalty. I think goalkeeper trainer is watching and do necessary corrections to avoid such mistake again. |

Oasis007:

.......... but before Oliseh signed for Juventus he was a Regular at Ajax where he won the Eredivisie and KNVB Cup Twice. He spent just two Seasons with Ajax, won 3 Titles and had 54 Caps, 8 Goals as a DM - fantastic Stats I say. Let me also remind you he was a Regular at FC Cologne - 54 Caps, 4 Goals as a DM. Guess you know he joined Ajax after his outstanding and consistent Performance with FC Cologne in two Seasons consecutively?!
Did he flop at Juventus? No..... rather he had already established Players in the Team like Zinedine Zidane, Antonio Conte, Simone Perotta, Edgar David, Enzo Maresca to contend - for a Spot in the starting XI, I guess you and I know his Competitions ain't Rookies or average Players. He spent just a Season and leave for Dortmund because he didn't get enough Chances to prove himself not FLOP!
He played 22 Times in his first Season (2000 - 2001) at Dortmund, bar Injury and Suspension he was a guaranteed Starter - that wasn't FLOP. In 2001/2002 Season that Dortmund won the Bundesliga and a Runner up in UEFA Cup, he had 18 Caps while fiercely competing with an emerging Talent - Tomas Rosicky.
He lost his starting Berth to Tomas Rosicky in 2002/03, thus he sought for a Loan to Bochum in January of 2002/03 Season where he played 12 Times (Regular for the Team). He was still with Club for the following Season, 2003 - 2004 with a regular Spot in the starting XI and played 22 Times.
He returned to Dortmund, had 11 Caps before he was sacked in March 2004 for head butting teammate Vahid Hashemian while on loan at VfL Bochum allegedly over racial remarks. He wasn't released by the Club because he FLOPPED but for a disciplinary Reason.
In a nutshell, Oliseh Stats ain't average but controversial. The present Eagles are on the right Track, but they ain't on par or better than Eagles of 90s. We do not need to argue this, coz it's basically my personal Submission based on Stats and Figures. My point is simple and i based it on being a flop at Juventus and Dortmund but am seeing you trying to tell me he wasn't a flop at Juve and Dortmund which i disagreed. I followed Oliseh's career to the letter even before he made his debut against Ethopia and ended Friday Ekpo,s career with national team. Sir am not saying Oliseh was not solid as a player,he was exceptional talented player from Leige to Regianna and Ajax but what do we called a player that find it difficult to break into a team and had 8 appearance mostly as substitute and released after a season?it's called FLOP. At Dortmund,i think have analysed it in a very simple way,53 appearance in five season should tell you something and even loan to Bochum for playing time, what do you call such player?FLOP. Sunday Oliseh had a good and solid career from 92 to 2000 but from 2000,it wasn't the same Oliseh again,so calling him a FLOP at Juventus and Dortmund does not belittle him as a good player. |

tbaba1234: Icon4s, see Ezenwa reckless rushing out against Cameroon that led to a penalty...The Striker was going nowhere and Ekong had it covered..
See the distance between Ezenwa and the ball in the second frame, a good keeper would have checked his run when he figured that the defender had it covered.
The man was not going to score from that angle tbaba1234 you need to understand that one thing is going for Ezenwa and is WC qualifier appearance over other keepers but that doesn't mean he is the best cos he was exposed by Algeria. Icon4s once rooted for Akpeyi like wise me but Argentina mistake made me to shift ground but right from on set i never rate Ezenwa and have never see cleared cut performance from him except against Angola but the question is why Rohr continuing searching if he is satisfied with Ezenwa. If it was on experience,Ezenwa have it over the likes of Uzoho,Ajiboye,Alampasu and Maduka but do we say Ezenwa has had enough experience to be picked ahead of these guys? No. As it's now the coming up friendlies would determine a lot of a things and apart from friendlies, their activities in their club sides should also be put into consideration cos we need active keepers for WC. On Uzoho,Rohr actually knew the disadvantage of a WC bound keeper keeping in division three and this made him to send goalkeeper trainer to monitor Uzoho and psych him up for bigger challenges ahead and this is more of a reason i see Maduka as no go area ,may be for future. As i said apart from friendlies coming up,the goalkeepers must be up and doing in their clubs not just using national team as only place, for instance Ezenwa was a great beneficiary of national team, nothing much can be said on his club performance, this always bring question mark. Ezenwa has herculean task at Enyimba unless Aigbogun would be sentimental,Fataou Dauda won't be easy to displace by Ezenwa, the guy is solid,so national team should not be only place for keeper's development.Hope Aigbogun assist in this regards. I think Akpeyi doesn't have problem in his club cos he always in action which is good but not yet convincing in national team which i think is psychological, hope he overcome it. Ajiboye is a regular with Plateau United which is good for him though not really in Rohr's plan but he can be a surprise inclusion,so need to continue from where he stopped last season with Plateau United. Alampasu would find it difficult to break in just cos of his club situation which is not encouraging.I think he needs to find playing time at team B just like Uzoho is doing cos Rohr is willing to assist. As it stand i think Ezenwa, Uzoho and may be Akpeyi have better chance of making it but am seeing surprise from Ajiboye and Alampasu if given chance. The number one keeper should emerge in upcoming friendlies. |

Mujtahida: I have done the analysis here before on this point. It would be too much work for me to do another one again.
Let's take Kanu at Ajax and Inter cos the way you mentioned those clubs is the way someone could mention Vicmo for Chelsea when he wasn't a regular at all. Do you know it was Finidi who was a regular at Ajax not Kanu? And you boldly put Inter there when you and I know Kanu didn't play much for Inter. Do check how many times most of these players played for these clubs. ....even Sunday Olishe 'oh sorry icon4s 'Oliseh' was a flopped at Juventus and Dortmund and loaned to Bochum. Oliseh had just 8 appearance for Juventus and 53 appearance(2000-2005)for Dortmund meaning he spent 5 years with average of 13 appearance per year in 3 seasons and 14 in a season, not good enough. We rated some of these old players like super regulars whereas they were average in their various clubs. This is what we are saying during the discussion of comparing 94 set with present team but those of us who watched 94 set knew this present team is not bad as some always saying they are average. Kanu like Kluivert were not regular at Ajax cos they are just coming up and need to watch Litmanen doing the job but Finidi George was a super regular. |

Uzoho will not get that chance, we don't have any competitive games coming up, so why can't he be judged by what we see him in?
If we cannot give someone a chance until another person is declared unfit, then no wahala, let someone be unfit then.
Sometimes, we say we shouldn't wish bad on our players, but many will not give good players a chance if bad does not befall the ones they are comfortable with.
