tbaba1234: I think the tag of master of all trades works against Etebo. His best position is obviously deep in Midfield.
He is not an AM. Yes you are right.I think his four goals against Japan made his position in the team little difficult for coaches to understand, sometimes as AM or deep playing midfielder but i see him as deep playing midfielder. |

Mikel Agu will be one player that will be important for the Super Eagles soon. Mikel Agu?not convincing so far in Eagles GWG. I think Rohr just have to do justice to the midfield cos for now we have three untouchable,MIKEL,NDIDI,ONAZI but Ogu had Algeria and Argentina match going for him irrespective of any midfielder form in his club. .....now we are having Etebo back in a great form in LA liga and also a talented Joel Obi is back and also Mikel Agu which means the midfield is a war zone and only performance in eagles jersey would determines who is going to make it especially between Etebo,Ogu,Agu and Joel Obi. |

tbaba1234: That snapshot is not according to the ranking. It is alphabetical order.
Ruben is the number 1 and that was not indicated in the snapshot.
Uzoho is 4th choice but it is not because of that snapshot.
When Ruben was out, Uzoho was the team's third choice. Tbaba you are a real guy here and God bless you for your analyticals on football issues. Pls does Uzoho being number 4 at his age and keeping week in week out disturb his chances in Eagles?NO but stating it is an offence and they see it as berating but that's the TRUTH for now The message was that Deportivo was not fair to sign another keeper on loan when they have young promising keeper who already had two LA liga appearances but i wonder why some are always finding it difficult to understand simple comments. Good that you stated it out in a very simpler manner that a novice in football would understand better. ..... not some online rats who always believe some players are important to their life than the rest of us and only way to express their opinions is to come out like a mad cow on social media thinking we all carried the same mentally disorder syndrome. |

gonna be a bomb. I like the competition we have got in the midfied...unlike the days of Gabriel Reuben and ramon azeez. Yes real bomb cos Rohr would not have excuse for not given us the best in midfield. How i wish the squad can accommodate Mikel,Ndidi,Onazi,Ogu,Etebo and Joel |

Truidstar: After the friendlies against Poland and Serbia, Uzoho, Ezenwa and Akpeyi acquit themselves respectably between the sticks. I am wondering what the narration will be. Its obvious some posters here are more knowledgeable than Rohr and his crew. I will state it again WE ARE OUR OWN PROBLEM. Good if they come good in the friendlies and build on it then we all be happy. I'm a real fan of Akpeyi but after Argentina match i dropped my sentiment and face reality, hope to see him come good in the friendlies. I don't rate Ezenwa before but his performance against Angola changed my mind and hope to see him in friendlies. Oh Uzoho i think his Argentina performance still speak for him and hope he continue from there which would be great considering his age. The three are the solutions if they can do it but any flops my man it would be disastrous. |

ChrisKels: Abeg stop misleading people, just because you don't have faith on Uzoho, shouldn't make u sale false news about him. Uzoho is Deportivo's third choice goalkeeper, he was at a point, the second choice (when Ruben was injured). When Costell Pantillimon wasn't pulling his weight, Uzoho rose to the rank of first choice for Derpor's first team until Pepe was sacked and he got demoted to third choice again with the arrival of Przemysla on loan. Maybe u didn't know Pantillimon's loan deal was terminated. Derpor's first three goal keepers are Przemysla, Ruben and Uzoho. With the fall of Ruben, Uzoho is now viewed as the second choice within the Derpor fraternity though Ruben retains the title.
Dele Ajiboye was never the first choice of Pandevedra CF when he left wikki for Spain. In fact, his European sojourn was a total fiasco.
Makes we no dey lie here abeg OK sir, thank you for the last paragraph and God bless. |

tbaba1234: Penalties might be important if we get to the knock out stages so you need a good penalty keeper. OK if that's the case Ajiboye should be on his way to Russia as penalty keeper not necessarily to be the first or second choice just for penalties, another scenario of Enyeama coming off for Aiyenugba when it comes to penalties.but i don't believe in this idea. Sir i think we need balance keeper who would give us good 90 mins and solid when it comes to penalty decision during the course of a match or penalties shootouts. |

I don't think so.If any foreign clubs see quality in any keeper they signed him ASAP cos we have seen keepers moving from Nigeria league to Europe as number one choice. |

somehow: This best describe types of GKs.
Traditional goalkeepers are well balanced, normal goal keepers. They only dive when it’s necessary and most of the times they use both of their hands for holding the ball. Acrobatic goalkeepers are more acrobatic. That is they dive really well and have excellent reflexes. They have more chances in stopping ground shots and shots aimed at corners. But they won't hold onto the ball that often since they pull off one handed saves most of the times. They usually palm the ball away which allows the oppsition for a rebound shot.
Traditional GKs, they are well balanced, has fair overall in reflexes and diving and holds onto the ball more often since they pull off two handed saves most of the times.
Some examples for traditional goalkeepers are Petr Cech, Manuel Neur, Gianluigi Buffon etc. Joe Hart, Fraser Forster,Hugo Lloris etc would be the examples for acrobatic goalkeepers.
Coined from quora. Good analysis |

TheSuperNerd: Ezenwa Returns To Training After Injury Setback, Thankful To God By Bamidele Boluwaji

Super Eagles goalkeeper, Ikechukwu Ezenwa, is back to training after the injury he sustained during the 2018 CAF African Nations Championship (CHAN) in Morocco, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
Ezenwa who captained Nigeria to the tournament got injured in the semi-final against Sudan and could not be part of the final match against host nation Morocco which the home-based Super Eagles lost 4-0.
The FC Ifeanyi Ubah first choice goalkeeper posted a message on his facebook wall in the early hours of Thursday, thanking God for healing him, and also thankful to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) for the support given to him during his trying time.
“Special thanks to God almighty for healing me, Ezenwa is back to the field of play with joy,” the Super Eagles goalkeeper stated.
“And also thanks to my beloved fans all over the world for their prayers and concern they showed to me during the recovery process. God bless you all and I love you all. “️️ also thanks to the NFF for their care and support throughout my stay in Abuja. God bless them.”
Ezenwa’s return will serve as a big boost to the Super Eagles preparation for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
Nigeria will play both Poland and Serbia in international friendly games this month as part of the preparations towards the World Cup in Russia.

Humility017: you see why...you always have my respect. your knowledge of this round leather game is top notch....
sir...I will still advise uzoho to still remain in deportivo reason because he still has much to learn and moreover his team is in top 3 in Spanish division 3 meaning there is the possibility of promotion for his team...
I believe if he should play good football in Spanish division 2 he may get noticed by a good club not just in Spain may be elsewhere in Europe....he still young and there is still much he needs to learn.
and regarding alampasu....he should seek for a move elsewhere....probably in Europe or go for a loan may be wit a Nigeria club side....
I still believe right there in nigeria league we have good goal keepers....alloy agu and co have not really done their homework well...
I believe if we can get the likes of enyeama from the local league likewise we can get other good goalies too.....they abound... all the managers need do...is to search with an unbiased mind. I think a good performance at WC would shape our keepers especially number one,so keeper like Uzoho can even move to a better club as number one |

TheSuperNerd: Na just your question make me reply oooo Egbon.
What I mean is simple. Right now, Rohr seems to have his eyes fixed more on Uzoho and not Alampasu due to the former's active form for club this season (two LA liga games and lots of Division 3 games) and also his recent involvement and decent showing in the Argentina friendly. The only thing against Alampasu is that he is not as active as Uzoho at club level. Now that makes Uzoho ahead for now. I do not speak of talent but I speak of development of both goalies at The moment. I know Alampasu have played Cup games and even kept clean sheet against FC Porto in previous seasons but right now, Uzoho also got two topflight games in the world's best technically proficient league. On the national front, Uzoho has been tested for 45 mins in a game against Argentina while Alampasu was tested in game against Togo where he came on for Ezenwa and played 21 mins+ making a top drawer save too.
Uzoho seems ahead in Rohr's decisions map. I only based my deductions on his recent actions and Uzoho's recent rise but Alampasu remains a top prospect like Uzoho.
Alampasu came to the national team before Uzoho but right now, you have to admit that Uzoho seems to stand a better chance of making the Russia plane than Alampasu. Just for now.
In all, the friendlies will decide... because the goalies tested in these games will have no place to hide. It is make or mar. Simple and straight forward. |

Mickael2: Future future future, the future of Goalkeepers is not written that way at all. Deportivo is still going out of their way to purchase goalkeepers showing lack of faith in their feeder team, so in 5years Uzoho's best position at Deportivo might still be a second choice or third choice, and presently no team wants him, is that the future? Or is it Alampasu? Personally these guys have gone through the academies abroad, I would have adviced them to come to Africa, look for a good team, maybe even a nigerian side frequently in the CCL and pitch their tent there. I mean Enyeama started from the local scene, Aiyenugba too. If we go through the history books we would see a lot of nigerian Gks who at one point or the other were first choice Gks for feeder teams all over Europe but how many of them got as far as Enyeama? What an insightful comment.I never thought of this and to be candid you are not far from truth. 1.Peter Rufai was the first keeper to travel out for professional career, first with Dragon of Benin and moved to Lokeren in Belgium later Go ahead eagles in dutch league, fareinse in Portugal and Deportivo LA coruna in Spain. 2.Wilfred Agbonavbare moved from BCC lion of Gboko straight to Rayo Vallecano as number one and had a great time in la iga, remain the best Nigerian keeper in LA liga history followed by Peter Rufai who also had a stay with Deportivo LA coruna. 3.Alloy Agu moved from ACB if am right straight to starting eleven of MVV Maastricht in dutch league and had a great years before moving to Turkish league. 4.Ademola Bankole moved from shooting star to English championship club as number one and was damn good for his club, remain only local breed to move to England and command regular shirt as a keeper. 5.Ike Shorunmu moved from shooting star straight to swiss giant fc grasshopper as number one and was very solid for the club 6.Murphy Akanji the father of Dortmund and Switzerland CB Manuel Akanji moved from Julius Berger straight to Malta as number one and almost keep for Malta national team but already cap by Nigeria. 7.Willy Opara moved from Nigeria league straight to Orlando pirates as a starter for long before he quit the game. 8.Peterside Idah moved from Iwauyanwu nationals straight to south Africa league as number one 9.Greg Etafia moved from here and team up with marrowka swallo as number one before he quit the game now one of the technical member of the team. 10.Vincent Enyeama moved from Nigeria and command a regular shirt for his club in Isreal for so long before moving to French league also as number one. 11.Austin Ejide left Nigeria straight to Do sahel as number one and later to Bastia in French division two before moving to Isreal,in all these sojourn he was a regular now in Isreali second division. 12.Dele Aiyenugba moved from Enyimba and replaced Enyeama in his former club as number one for so long and still active as number one in Isreali league till dates. 13.Sunday Rotimi left plateau united straight to Isreali second division league as number one and came back home when the team got relegated meaning no space for thorough professional in division three. He came home spent a season and moved back and spent another three seasons before returning to NPFL and still remain solid. 14.Daniel Akpeyi moved from Nigeria league and straight as number one of chippa united in South Africa league, presently eagles keeper. 15.Dele Ajiboye from Nigeria to Spanish division three and command regular shirt until he moved back to Nigeria and sort his career out with shooting star,Nasarawa united and now with Plateau united, presently one of the five Rohr is considering, good decision for him to come back instead of wasting in division four league. 16.Ghanian international Edward Ansah was so solid with Leventis United for many years but went straight to claim Ghana number one keeper ahead of his Europe based counterparts, just to tell us talents abound in Nigeria league. 17.Fataou Dauda another Ghana international in Nigeria league and doing well with Enyimba. Mike, truly Nigeria goalkeeping future is bleak with our keepers keeping for reserve teams and youth teams in Europe. Presently Uzoho is number four cos Deportivo recently got another keeper on loan from Russia league instead of promoting the young lad to the main team. Alampasu third keeper in Portuguese league after some years with the club not encouraging. Well Maduka is still growing cos we don't know what future hold for him being a German which will definitely shape his future. Honestly i don't think these guys are better than what we have at home but do we blame Rohr cos Alloy Agu failed to produce a solid keeper for the team if not how on earth will Super eagles be chasing goalkeepers who are under tutelage for Eagles. |

They have both trained with the first team.
