RomanceRe: My Best Friend Is Dating My Cousin's Husband by kokoye(m): 5:12pm On Jan 14, 2010
In college, we decided to go hang out at some club in Ibadan. We found our boy waiting for his babe in front of quenn's hall - asked him to come with us but told us he'd sent someone in to go call the babe, so we could go have fun without him since he wanted to spend the friday evening the the madam.

We got to the club and saw the babe there with an aristo. Our eyes locked but we acted like say we no see her. We decided not to tell our guy cos he was madly in love at the time. Guess what, she told the guy later that we all tried to rape her that same night . . so as to dispute anything we were going to tell him of course. And the stupid guy stopped talking to all of us without any reason.

He finally caught the babe cheating on him a few yrs later and that was when we were all able to talk about the issue.
RomanceRe: Why Do Women Find It Hard To Be Submissive In Relationships? by kokoye(m): 4:28pm On Jan 14, 2010
Pray you marry the right lady, be responsible and let her see that you truly care about your family.

See if she will be submissive or not.
RomanceRe: Why Do Men Find It Hard To Love Their Women In Relationships? by kokoye(m): 4:24pm On Jan 14, 2010
It is perfectly normal to have eyes for other women.

What sets apart a responsible man is self-control.
RomanceRe: Why Do Men Find It Hard To Love Their Women In Relationships? by kokoye(m): 4:14pm On Jan 14, 2010
I love my wife with all of my heart.

Reason:

- We were very good friends for over 2 yrs, both matured and ready to settle down.

- Because we were good friends right from the onset, I never lied to her and she exacly knew what she wanted in her man and found just that before we got engaged.

- There is no such thing as pride in our relationship . . she lets me be when I sulk and vise versa. So either one finds it really easy to say I am sorry and truly mean it.

- We both ironed out our differences before we decided to get married. So if I'm not going to allow something as a married wealthy man, I started rejecting it ever since I was poor and single.

- We truly care about each other - we want to make us happy

- Here is the number reason: A woman that knows she is truly loved will readily give her eyes for her partner. That is the kind of commitment I want and get from my wife. If you truly love your wife / husband, you will not cheat on them and have extramarital affairs or kids outside the marriage. I added my wife's name to all my accounts without her knowledge and gave her my atm card and two credit cards. She then personally decided to her work cheques paid directly to my account. It is easy for your wife to love and trust you when she knows you are a responsible man and you devote all your attention to your family.

I am almost forty, lived with my parents for over 20 years and never saw my dad cheat or raise his hands on my mother. Of course my mother gave him her all and everything else.  So why should I want my own to be different.

I am truly blessed to be married to this woman.

Love your wife truly and you will enjoy the fruits of marriage.
TravelRe: Is Living Abroad Worth It? by kokoye(m): 10:59pm On Jan 13, 2010
It is perfectly normal and acceptable to go thru some tough times at first when you move to a foreign land. But if you see no end to the pain and suffering after a long period of stay and age is not on your side, then it is advisable to return to your fatherland - and you must have a plan on how to survive in naija as well, or else!!.

99% of the people who are seem comfortable abroad now have stories to tell.

Na wah o. sufferhead too plenty for that ur england I swear.

Even security officers / health agency workers here in the U.S are able live well, buy houses, go to school and send money to their extended families at home - as long as they can cut their cloth.

Busy_body,

What do you think of Nigerians paying taxes so that basic amenities are made available in Nigeria?

Cos it seems you really dont see what my issue is with the poster's thread.

taxes!

Calm down before you bust a spleen, where did you see him "bragging" undecided undecided undecided Its obvious the OP is a bit miffed that he/she has been denied 6 times, but its equally clear that he/she opened this thread not to gloat but to see if it is worth him/her applying for the 7th time cheesy grin cheesy

Isn't your touchy, making a mountain outta a molehill reaction, indicating that perhaps the OP has hit a nerve - yours? undecided Na question I jejely ask oh, no flame me oh abeg cool
I am sure you read quite well where he said it's better to live like a king and not pay taxes. That sounds like bragging to me, if not you.

People brag about not paying taxes at home and I think we need to let people realize that those who choose to pay taxes are not fools - if used for the right things of course.
TravelRe: Is Living Abroad Worth It? by kokoye(m): 7:49pm On Jan 13, 2010
Would you have started a 'hate' thread like this if you have been granted the visa . .and why bother applying again after you'd been denied several times if not for a hidden agenda?

You brag about living like a king in Nigeria and not paying taxes. Yet you complain about the lack of basic amenities in the same country.

The U.K you are dying to visit is beautiful because the inhabitants have learnt to pay taxes.

Be romantic about my wife on Nairaland? naaa

But for real though, I do talk about her every once in a while . . but I hardly startup threads about her.

I will blame myself if I bring up something about her and some idiot posts makes some nasty comment that I cannot stand . .hope you understand

I dont joke with my woman . . treat her and my sisters with all the respect they deserve, whether i'm anonymous here or not.

It is my toddler son who does the funny stuff . . and it is ok for his age.

Don't get me wrong, it's not all bad but as my husband would say; the reasons chasing you away are more than the reasons encouraging you to stay. Truth is most people expect you to adapt and blend in easily as long as you have the financial capacity but I find that the mental/cultural balance needed to fit in again does not come easy. When you talk about this, people look at you and wonder what you are whining about. I've learnt not to have such discussions with people who haven't lived (in relative comfort) abroad for an extended period because it's hard for them to empathise. and they just become judgemental.
Excellent conclusion and lesson learnt. That is the best advice that can be given to anyone.

Just by looking at the bolded words alone, I agree with everything else you have written even without reading it.

Preach it.

Yep, he's also my best friend. But that should not be a surprise.
FamilySon Calls Me Mummy by kokoye(op): 3:34pm On Jan 05, 2010
My 2yr old son calls me 'mummy' and he calls his mom 'mama'. He does this only when we are indoors so I know it is on purpose. Also when he sees a picture of me he shouts 'daddy' so yea, he knows what he's doing.

Whenever he call me mummy and I tell him to call me daddy, he screams 'No!' with a mischievous (sp?) grin on is face grin. So I have stopped answering him until he calls me daddy . . except he truly needs attention.

Again, he does this only indoors and we know he does it on purpose. But how can it be stopped?

It's all fun but gets annoying at times. Not like I wear skirts and use make-up cheesy

I know of someone that came to the US and stayed for 4 weeks. This person was from a village in Ogun state.
After 4 weeks and this lady left a voice message on my phone - all i heard was a rap like that of idris abdulkareem (i no hear anything) 4 weeks american accent.

Naa everywhere them they fake accent. I don hear LEXUS being called LEZUS.
That is not faking an accent. That is a wrong pronounciation that needs to be pointed out and corrected to prevent further disgrace.  cheesy

girls back home wear tooo much make up and tooo much weave in their hair. my sis and i didn't. so we probably stood out.
See, there you go generalising, the fact that you saw a few people with too much weave and make up does not mean most ladies are guilty.

You were obviously with the local crowd.  Go to some nice places in lagos and no one would notice or care that you'd lived in yankee forever.

Have you been to Ikoyi Club in summer??
HealthRe: Why Do Most Nigerian Men Have Bad Body Odour? by kokoye(m): 6:00pm On Dec 30, 2009
Biimz:
The problem with us Naija people is that we are too set in our ways.
Like it or not, naija men, women, boys or girls dey smell.
Most have lost the ability to identify body odour 'cos it is a constant.
The same way we dey 'steal' as hours from our employer ( on cell phone or busy doing nothing)
Or we engage in analysis paralysis. We discuss and discuss but never get anything done. We criticizes anyone who tries.
We need to accept corrections as love and forget the too smart attitude.

We need to be careful, especially with the new screening at airports, Do not answer questions with question, forget the smart retorts and just answer the question.

So, Fellow Naija, you dey smell or not?

Simple yes or no.

As for me, sometimes I dey smell. Sometimes I no smell.

Mamagee, thanks, I resolve to do better.
You plain stupid. Does the fact that you or the poster's b/f smell mean that most Nigerian men smell?

I do not have a bad smell - neither do ALL the Nigerian men I know.

a$$ licker
