mutter:No need to be wicked to your kids . . I am sure you are not. But when necessary, we need to be firm and not give in. . .or else the kids will be dealt with outside and we as parents will look stupid. |
A question / advice for the mothers: Some mothers are unable to make their kids listen or do what is right. They would let the kids have their way or call the fathers to enforce the rules when needed. They claim the child is too stubborn and they (the mothers) cant be stressing themselves to enforce laws. Now, when the father enforces these rules and make the kids do what is necessary, the mother and kids calls the father 'aggresive' - the kids prefer their mom to the dad for this particular reason. Of course they always have thier way with the mom. So . .mothers, why are some of you like this . . .is it because of your unconditional love for your kids clouding your judgement; or the fact that you are being lazy in enforcing the rules; or you just dont want to look mean to the kids . . .and it is OK to let the dads look mean?? Simple fact of life: Spare the rod and spoil the child. Maybe we need to say this over and over again. Enforcement does not always mean spanking or beating by the way. A child that grows up without the necessary and right guidance when young will not appreciate the 'love' showered on him / her. Now I appreciate the reasons why my parents dealt with me when I was wayword. Thank God they did. . . I know better now |
^^^ I am also against abusing pastors but . . . Because of their position, they are held to higher standards. They are human and flesh so they need to be cautioned at times as well, the same way Goodluck Jonathan is cautioned. . . And why should anyone talk about balalawo or ifa here . . they do not matter. I'm surprised you are comparing them. |
and who is God's anointed . . or who is not? we all say the prayer in Psalm 23:5 . .except we dont believe in our prayers. |
Wow . . wow wow some people have definately placed men more than God . . really sad You would think Nigeria would be a great place to live with all these worshippers of men and religion . . but nooooo, boko haram is having a field day all over the place and killing innocents everywhere. Yet they keep worshipping men and religion. God is surely laughing at our ignorance . .He will not come down to correct you. |
Well well. It is a personal choice. I have a friend who is going to be 40 soon with a perfect job and everything else except a wife. All his friends are married so he's now all by himself most evenings. And yes, he's getting tired of 24 / 25yr old girls. The type of mature girls he wants are already married. Like CC said earlier, most (naija) girls will not give you their all when there's no commitment from you . .when they know another girl is coming tomorrow. I said most naija girls because brad pitt and angie jolie are unmarried but seem to be doing well. I agree that marriage is overated . . . |

She needs to go see a shrink . .someone to help her deal with her own personal issues. Only then can she learn to deal with others. |
If you cannot learn to trust him again, I think it is safe to say you should get a separation. |
So . . .does this mean she does not want a relationship? |
Make sure Vic O performs at the after parry |

I grew up having several toy guns and see how I turned out?? ![]() My toy gun actually went of during the sermon back when I was young and I hated myself for the way I was looked at by the entire congregation. My dad did not beat me . .he just laughed at me Guess what, I knew not to EVER take a toy gun to church again. I bought my son a PS3 game with a wireless gun and we play with it together . . my wife frowned at the idea at the time but she enjoys the game with us now. I understand the society we live in . . but why act as if things do not exist when they are all around us? My son watches tv . . he sees toy guns, catapults, rocks all over the place . .maybe his classmates even bring one to school on show n tell day. I have gotten him to the point where he knows what real guns can do. . . he KNOWS. His mom used to frown at anyone who said 'shut up' around him and I would let her know it's ok for him to hear it, as long as he knows the different btw right and wrong. Now, if you say 'shut up' and he hears you, he will quickly let you know it's a wrong thing to say. Imagine if he was shielded from it all his life and finally heard it in his teenage years . .what would his curiousity do? Let your kids know the existence of some things, as long as you as there to guide them between right and wrong. I believe that is part of growing up. I now know some of the downsides of my parents being over-protective of us. . .we did not 'grow up' on time. But I understand they were just being parents. |

Yes I can. Love is blind |
Onyiclassic:first of all . . .why 'promise' someone a marriage? second . . why did she spend a night at his place if she wasnt ready for whatever? marry or become a signle parent: her own decision to make. My suggestion: if the guy's ready to marry her, she better learn to forgive him and marry him. At least there was a 'promise of marrige' sometime ago. Also, for the sake of the child. I believe she can learn to love him again. |
