Windscribe:Agreed without question |
andrewbaba44:Best may be open to debate but he is not average he is a top player in La Liga. |
Karlovych:Ademola Lookman played 2017/18 season couldn't get into Everton goes on loan and as a Winger he plays 11 games and scores 5 goals in the Bundesliga. That in my opinion, is exceptional. His next stint didn't go well not sure why . Emil Smith went to Liepzig at age 17 and played 3 games, and you have concluded he was anonymous ![]() Gnabry looks very good in the Bundesliga but not sure he will be able to replicate that form in the EPL. But l am sure put Odoi in the Bundesliga and he will be outstanding. De bryne has become much better in Manchester city but his first stint with Chelsea did not go well. Aubemyang was able in one season in the Bundesliga to score 31 goals and even 25 the preceding season. The best goal tally Aubemyang has had in the EPL is 22. Dzeko best season in the EPL he scores 16 gialihis best season in the Bundesliga he scored 26. Gundogan and Heung Min Son have evolved after 6/7 years in the EPL. Gundogan plats a more attacking role and Heung Min Son, plays more of forward player than a winger. They have both scored much more goals than they did in the Bundesliga playing different roles. So your comparison is not able to underpin your implied proposition that the Superior quality of the EPL league has no bearing on player ability. |
andrewbaba44:The operative word you used is WAS and that's very apt. Hazard is 31 and so you can assume his best years are behind him. I am lost for words where Hazard is concerned. I thought he would be another Luca Modrric but it just didn't happen he seemed a shadow of his former self. But why do you have tell LIES and demean the discourse with totally unnecessary demeaning rhetoric, there is no need. Rodrygo Silva de Goes started playing for Santos first team at 16 at age 18 he was in the Brazilian first team. Real Madrid paid £45 million for him at age 18 . This is a player you are calling average. Asensio is one of the best Spanish players in La Liga, he has 25 caps and you call him average. You just like argument for argument sake. |
andrewbaba44:Rating players in general by what the industry is willing to pay them is an indicator of VALUE which is intrinsically linked to quality. |
Karlovych:Can you be objective and SUBSTANSIVE ❓ You are taking my deductions out of context. In general what people (football clubs) are prepared to pay for you is a good indicator of your quality. Sometimes mistakes are made for a host of reasons , injuries mid season and you pay over the odds to get your player in desperation. Pepe cost how much ? But small boy Saka has benched him . He had been unable to replicate his outstanding form in French League 1. Manchester United paid way too much for Harry Maguire ,he is a good defender bit he has lost form and some of his handicaps have shown he isn't good enough for Manchester United. |
do4luv14:Manchester city don't have time for unnecessary dribbling, show boating and skill, everything must have END PRODUCT. Mahrez has improved immensely with end product. Football has moved on and dribbling be aimlessly be will not get you far. |
TheLoneCitizen:I replied to Jihday and exposed his crass ineptitude and ignorance. You have shown yours as well in thinking it's an insult. |
Karlovych:I would say in general money is a determinating component in getting the best players. But it's not the only unit to measure quality but in general once again it's very indicative. There will always be mistakes and projection expectations that goes wrong. It's very normal. Is Gnabry better than Hudson, l really don't know. However, what is very apparent players who struggle in the EPL often go to the Bundesliga and become outstanding, e.g. Sancho, Batshuayi, Ademola, Nelson, etc. As a consequence it's difficult to say, because if you put Hudson-Odio in the Bundesliga he will do s lot better. But if you put Gnabry in the EPL I don't think he will have the same dominance he has in the Bundesliga. What is even very clear is most players struggle to replicate the same form in the Bundesliga when they come to the EPL. This is much more pronounced with forward players. Because Rudiger is an exception although he has a lot of time to learn since he arrived in 2017. On the other hand Timo, Havertz have been DISSAPOINTING consider that Timo is on near £300k a week. |
andrewbaba44:Why would you come to the conclusion that rating players by salary is pure foolishness. At the end of the day in general quality players command higher salaries. I am not saying that should be the only consideration. But salary is indicative, because better clubs want better players cand are prepared to pay more to get the players they want. I agree there are cases of manipulations and over exaggeration but in general better players end up in better clubs and get paid more. Finally, at the end of the day football is a very short term career and you need to maximize your income to the highest level possible before it's over. Players follow the money and the best players get more money . |
jihday:When you know nothing but think you do ,you are what ❓ Many years ago, I watched a 16 year old Ryan Ssegnon play against Blackburn actually 27th August 2016, just checked my Whatsapp. I called my friend Malcolm and l said, l'm sure you're going to want to sell him for £10 million. My good friend told me no, they want £30 Million. That summer Liverpool offered £20 Million but Fulham refused. As you probably know he now plays as a LB for Tottenham, who paid £25 million plus Tega Onomah in a transfer deal, you could say Fulham got their asking price. Fulham are in their way to the EPL next season, they have 76 points and the closest to rival has 62 points. So Tosin Adarabioyo has no reason to leave, he has literally played all their games this season. |
Karlovych:Akpoguma will not get on the bench. A good barometer of a player quality is the level of interest he generates. Several EPL clubs put in bids for Tosin Adarabioyo but Fulham rejected them all. Akpoguma is one of the lower paid players in his club, he is not even first choice , mostly a substitute. How many top clubs came in for Akpoguma ❓ |
Karlovych:I know a player who captained England U18 he left the EPL to non league he is currently playing College soccer in the USA. The reality is nobody else thinks he is good enough nobody in the EPL or any of the top teams in the Championship. Akpoguma is on €16k a week ,he is among the lower paid players in the his Club. You mentioned Burnley, James Tarkowski is a CB he gets €80 a week that's almost 5 times more money than Akpoguma. If he is so good why doesn't he leave and come to the EPL .❓❓ But it seems nobody who matter's shares your view.

Windscribe:Sebastian couldn't cut it in the EPL he was essentially a flop. But he goes to the Eredivisie and he becomes the highest goal scorer. |
Karlovych:Mamadou Sakho captained PSG at 17 ,played 4 seasons at Liverpool fell out with Klopp and moved to Crystal palace he has 29 caps for France. And you are calling him average. I will remind you Omeruo couldn't cut it in the Championship and was unable to progress at Middlesbrough. But many regard him as our best defender I don't. You are calling Mustafi, average he was a top performer in the Seria A and LaLiga , although he spent 3 seasons in Everton but never played one game for the first team. Soyoncu was a top performer in the Bundesliga before coming to the EPL. Mangala was an outstanding performer in Porto which pabed the way for him to go to Manchester city. If you are calling these defenders average then what does that make our defenders. Awaziem could only get into Porto B with a few game's in the first team. Yes these defenders were not outstanding in the EPL , a testament to the high level competitive nature of the EPL. |
Karlovych:Forget your tags , how many players have gone straight to the best teams in the Bundesliga from the championship ❓ Akpoguma will not make the bench at Fulham and Fulham is way better than Hoffenheim and has superior quality players. So let's examine my proposition by team composition analysis: Below two screens shots of players and bench of both teams in a recent match. Let's start from the back main CB's for Fulham are T.Ream ( USA 48 caps) , Adarabioyo ( CB) Hector (Jamaican 35 caps), Wing backs - Tete( Dutch 14 caps) Robinson (USA, ?) Williams ( Liverpool loanee Wales caps 17) l will not talk about Terence Kongolo who is Dutch international but very injury prone. Hoffenheim main CBs are Akpoguma, Hubner, Grillitsch, Posch, no senior international caps apart from Akpoguma 4 for Nigeria. Wing backs Kadeřábek (45 caps Czech) Raum (3 caps Germany), Let's look at the midfield , Fulham currently Anguissa is on loan at Napoli ( not sure why he not in the Championship with Fulham) Carvalho ( pre contract to Liverpool FC) Chalobah, Seri( 38 caps Cote d'Ivoire) Onomah, Cairney( Scotland caps 2) Now let's look at Hoffenheim Midfielders , Gieger, Baumgartner (17 caps Austria), Stiller, Samassékou (17 caps for Mali) And finally the main forward player's; Bebou (19 caps Togo and the top goal scorer si far this season with 7 goals in the Bundesliga), Kramaric (65 caps Croatia) Dabbur (33 caps for Israel) Rutter. Now let's look at Fulham strikers; Mitrovich, highest number of goals scored in a season in the history of the Championship so far , with 34 goals from 32 games. Essentially astounding. I'm sure some of you remember the two goals he scored against us in a friendly game 2018. Other forward players are Decordova-Reid (16 caps for Jamaica) , Kebano ( Congo 7 caps) H.Wilson (29 caps for Wales) Mitrovich is on near £90k a week. There are more than five players who have scored at least 7 goals in Fulham in the Championship. In my honest opinion if Hoffenheim played Fulham FC they would get beat COMPREHENSIVELY. In every department Fulham are better. Bebou will not get into the Fulham team their best striker. Consider Ivan Cavaleiro (Portuguese 3 caps) he can't get into the team always on the bench he is much better than Bebou. Please put emotive sentiment based preference aside and be objective.

TheGoodJoe:You have given a long epistle. But you did not answer the simple question, do you know Daniel Amokachi personally ❓ Your are changing the narrative be presumption, l did not ask you if you are his Father, stop muddying the waters and EVADING the question. |
Hashabiah:You are a petty LIAR and ignorant. I gave no dates specifically. I talked about periods and what you can call watershed moments. Changes in the people expectations that's why I mentione, Perestroika. What you fail to appreciate is that Communism was highly and brutally repressive but not socio economically beneficial. The only constant in life is CHANGE . The adoption of capitalism and the rejection of communism resulted in globalisation and massive FDI in the Soviet Union. Globalisation comes with socio economic and cultural change as well as political. Eastern Europe has CHANGED in its expectations socio economic and political and cultural. They don't want to go back into the dark ages of communism and it's repression. The people have chosen. Ukraine gave all its nuclear weapons to Russia as an assurance that they seaked peaceful coexistence at independence. They no longer adopted the Russians military ideology and cold war ethos. They have aligned themselves to Western Europe not Russia. After the peaceful in uprising that removed the very unpopular Russian stooge, Yanukovych in 2014. Russia tried to upstage it, but failed. Immediately after Russia started to destabilise the country. And literally invaded Ukraine seizing Crimea. Poroshonko cam into power but lost in 2019 to a non political actor, his name is ZELENSKY he was a comedian but the people loved him he won an overwhelmingly majority of the vote 73% . Imagine Ay or Basket mouth winning presidency in Nigeria. The powers that be the old corrupt politicians will never allow it to happen. ZELENSKY was pro Europe that's what the people wanted they have changed and they have chosen Europe. Putin cannot impose his singular will and desire on a sovereign country. He may not like the decision of the people but that's DEMOCRACY and it is the will of the Ukrainian people. They will rather die than become enslaved to Putin and his delusional grandiose ambitions of a new Soviet Union. |
andrewbaba44:Salisu is better than Iorfo in the HERE and NOW but don't forget Iorfa has been struggling with serious injury. His team fell foul of the Financial regulations and had points deducted leading to thier relegation. Salisu could be better than Tosin Adarabioyo , l am not emphatically sure but the possibility exists. But then Salisu is better than all of the defenders in the SE currently. Akpoguma will not get into any EPL team he will not make the bench at Fulham. |
Englandboy:He is not good enough yet |
andrewbaba44:Semi has started every game under Bruce ,but lost out on a number of games on account of the AFCON. But has played the vast majority of games for his team this season. Compared to Akpoguma who had only played four full 90 minutes game all season the rest are substitutions on occasion getting just 4 minutes. Although he has played 16 out of their 25 games this season. Tosin Adarabioyo is arguably the best defender in the Championship and Akpoguma is no where as good as him. Wanted by a duplicity of EPL clubs but Fulham will not sell they are effectively in the EPL for next season. Nobody in Hoffenheim will get into the Fulham team not one. |
humility33:Agreed without question. But the context of discussion is Ajayi and Akpoguma and my submission is Ajayi is better. In addition Akpoguma is almost anonymous in the Bundesliga he will not get into any EPL team . And he will not get into any top Championship team and his team although in the Bundesliga is not better that quite a few Championship sides. |
Karlovych:Yes he does , but he is not outstanding in the league. He has made the bench three times in the last four games and played once as a substitute. Is that your definition of outstanding player in league and club. If Ajayi was in the 1899 Hoffenheim he will bench him. Absolutely no EPL team will take him and that leaves the Championship Would you say he is better than Tosin Adarabioyo in Fulham. I would say categorically without any restraint Fulham FC in the Championship is way better on all fronts than 1899 Hoffenheim. Therefore he will not get into Fulham.
|
andrewbaba44:Not too long ago Ajayi was playing in the EPL. Now consider how many players leave the championship to the very top clubs in the Bundesliga. Akpoguma will not get into any EPL team as it stands. A good season in the Championship and your in the top 5 leagues in Europe. |
TheGoodJoe:You did not answer the very simple question ❓ |
Mossadd:It's pretty obvious, u no go school. Ignorance is a disease. |
Nathan2016:Agreed without question Ignorance is a terrible disease. |
Hashabiah:He who knows not and knows that he knows not is not a fool. But you ,you know nothing and don't even know you don't know NOTHING. Go and read about Perestroika and Glasnost. To summarize the USSR adopted capitalism in the early late 80's and by default globalisation. This resulted in massive FDI . That changed the socio economic and cultural dynamics. First outcome delivery the end of the USSR and the adoption of democracy. And duplicity of sovereign nation states in Eastern Europe. There expectations changed and they leaned more and more to capitalism in the western model. The new freedoms that they never had under the repressiveness of communism were embraced. Eastern Europe has tasted freedom they don't want Soviet style repression again. They have all moved on unfortunately Putin has not. Putin is highly DELUSIONAL and had grandiose ambitions of reinstating the old Soviet Union. You can't force people to join you ,he doesn't understand that. He has used the past 20 years to reinstate repression and has created a despotic personality led regime, where all power Rests with him. And in effect has made himself "President for Life". There is now no freedom of expression, no freedom of the press, no freedom of association, no right to protest, etc and any dissent can be punished sub judicially with death. They have banned the words invasion and attack from all press briefing and any breach you can face a 15 year jail term. Please go back to school and educate yourself, you are in ignorant darkness. |
Philosopher1979:First of all let's not bring age into the equation in the context of African football it's mostly academic. You made a FALSE claim, the Scottish premier League is rated higher than the Belgium league.
|
Karlovych:What makes Akpoguma better than Ajayi ❓l will concede with regards to Omeruo but Balogun I'm not sure and definitely not better than Calvin. |
TheGoodJoe:Do you personally know Amokachi? |
comodo:Akpoguma is not outstanding in his league on the other hand Calvin is outstanding in both club , Scottish premier and in the Euro Champions league. No contradiction just FACTS |
