Oasis001: I am not supporting Rohr, I want him gone as well. My only fear is avoiding frying Pan to Fire. Imama was the Reason we couldn't make it to Olympic. He's a local Coach, one of the best, but failed woefully with National Teams.
He was Rohr's Assistant for sometimes, what did he add to the Team tactically?! NFF had to fire and replace him with Yobo.
Yobo with no managerial experience replaces Imama and here we are eating Rohr raw. Yobo's ineptitude facilitates return of Salisu to the coaching Crew after his Suspension.
Honestly before we barbecue Rohr we need to cremate Pinnick first. That Dude is only using NFF to achieving his personal Goals.
You jumped without past record examination and or peer assessment to the conclusion that Yobo is INEPT, don't you think that's a bit rash
ShadowCommander: ISWAP Releases Photos Of Brig. Gen. Zirkusu, Other Slain Soldiers, Armoured Vehicles Captured From Army In Borno The Nigerian army has repeatedly claimed that insurgency had been largely defeated and frequently underplayed any losses.
Militants from the Islamic State-backed faction of Boko Haram, the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP), formerly known as Jamā'at Ahl as-Sunnah lid-Da'wah wa'l-Jihād, have released pictures of four soldiers including Brigadier General Dzarma Zirkusu killed by the group during an ambush on troops in Bulguma, Askira Uba Local Government Area of Borno State.
ISWAP had in a statement on Sunday claimed 17 Nigerian soldiers were killed during two attacks on the LGA.
According to the group, 13 soldiers were killed when its fighters attacked troops at a military base in Askira town while four others were killed during an ambush at Bulguma, a few kilometres from Askira.
However, the Islamic terror group on Wednesday released a picture showing four bodies of dead soldiers including that of Brigadier General Zirkusu killed in Bulguma.
Zirkusu, until his death, was the commander of the 28 Task Force in Chibok.
He was said to have mobilised his men to provide reinforcement in Askira, which was under attack but his team was ambushed on their way to provide support for the soldiers battling the insurgents.
The insurgents also displayed a Saurer 4K 4FA armoured tank and Isotrex Phantom 2 APC captured from the army.
The Saurer 4K 4FA is an Austrian armoured personnel carrier with caterpillar tracks while Isotrex Phantom 2 is a new version of the 4×4 B6 armoured personnel carriers. Other than a 5-door configuration, with a 360° gun turret and with two or three escape hatches, the Isotrex Manufacturing allows customers to customize the vehicles for the special client's needs and requirements.
ISWAP as well displayed photographs of different weapons and ammunition stolen from the military.
SaharaReporters had reported that ISWAP fighters on Saturday engaged Nigerian troops in a gun battle at a military base in Askira, Borno State.
Some civilians had said they sighted the terrorists in a long convoy of gun trucks along Ngude axis towards Askira. The civilians added that they reported the movement of the terrorists to security forces but no action was taken before the deadly group stormed Askira town hours later.
Since the death of JAS leader, Abubakar Shekau, ISWAP has been consolidating its grip in locations around Lake Chad.
The sect’s membership has swollen with the defection of hundreds of Boko Haram fighters under Shekau.
The Nigerian army has repeatedly claimed that insurgency had been largely defeated and frequently underplayed any losses. In the past months, soldiers have been targeted by the insurgents, who waylay them.
Hundreds of soldiers and officers have been reportedly killed since January 2021.
What are you effectively saying ❓ That the hunter has become the HUNTED ❓❓❓
JOSCOFELIX: oga to very 20mrap sent to a formation 2 are specially bulid for commander. ask uncle sam how commander move. tight security .with all this mrap british has there men and commanders have been killed in war. check afghan ,iraq. battlefied no be your mate.
I don't know where you get your information from (possibly uneducated NCO mess) but it's WRONG.
There are different configurations for MRAP's sometimes mission specific. But I have NEVER EVER seen where you have specific specialty designed MRAP for senior officers your diction a commander.
You have introduced comparison analysis , which highlights our huge failings and ineptitude.
Just to educate you, you do need to be educated. For the over the 20 years of British armed forces deployment in Afghanistan. We sadly lost 467 combatants the highest ranking officer lost was a Lt. Col.
These are published statistics with rank and names attached in in the public domain. That means 22 soldiers lost every year , 2 soldiers in every month since the 20 year deployment in Afghanistan.
We know the NA will NEVER reveals the true level of casualties in this war.
Does anybody want to speculate ❓❓ l actually think we are talking thousands of of casualties. Particularly when you consider the UNACCEPTABLY high number of commissioned officers lost.
JOSCOFELIX: you like writing rubbish . Just take 2 weeks trip to brono and see thing yourself and stop being a narialand anyalist .from damboa to akism uba you only have singe entry and exist . If you know how protected an mrap or suv of a senior commander is . You will stop writting this rubbish. that playout in the battlefied is more of what you think at home .you saying a reinforcement convoy can't run out of ammo show how weak you paragraphs quote is , you forgot that a reinforcement unit or base have a base to be defended by other troop incase of an attack and will not move will all ammo . All mrap in brono have HMG. Go to brono an be a battlefield anyalist and not a nairaland anyalist
I could give you a picture of myself ( face blacked out of course) in a British army Mastiff MRAP, will that make you know that you are talking RUBBISH and not me.
But then again to what purpose
And you probably think it's photo shopped So that will not work.
Like l said you are incorrigible.
If you think I'm talking RUBBISH that's your choice.
SamuelAnyawu: Omo Army don give me High Blood Pressure now now. Five minutes ago I started hearing Sporadic shooting right inside my town. Omo I dressed up and moved out immediately with my grab bag only to be told the Army are jubilating because of rotation.
May God bless our Sambisa Brigade .
I think I need a PSS tonight. Kai war zone no easy I swear
Will we ever know the aTRUTH one TRUTH that is irrefutable is that the NA is very capable of telling bare faced lies.
I remember years ago when they abandoned there MRAP and other vehicles and ran into Cameroon. It was explained as a tactical retreat I guess to outflank the enemy.
At the very least any Armoured vehicle should have HMG. So why didn’t the gunners on the MRAP take out the enemy’s MRAP with the turreted HMG it’s stabilized and our trained soldiers should be able to have far better accuracy against ISWAP.
Someone suggested that they ran out of ammunition. That seems highly unlikely as they were going as reinforcements to assist there comrades already engaged with the enemy.
One thing I notice about the NA they go on the same roads day day out in long convoys in the belief of strength in numbers.
In Afghanistan and Iraq in general allied forces never if possible go on the same routes regularly. Mostly yet go off road and travel at night no lights. Just thermal imaging and NVG.
We can give rohr a new role in the team. We will give him the role of technical adviser, scout and general manager. That is he will just give his own opinion on how the team should play, manage the players and keep them from a mutiny and scout players for us. The coaching, training and tactics will be managed by Salisu Yusuf. Salisu Yusuf will be the real coach while Rohr will have his role. He will still collect his salary but he will not coach the team except to ask for advice. That way Rohr will not really be the coach. He will also ask as the spokesman for the team But Salisu Yusuf will coach the team and select players. They should just give him a new role and appoint a coach for him
Is it that corruption is acceptable and therefore should continue.
Salisu had been caught RED HANDED with hands stained with corruption. However, we can assume without prejudice that with the NFF it's not a question of who is corrupt but WHO IS NOT.
Salisu should have ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with the NFF he had been indicted and is DISQUALIFIED. if indeed we want our football to progress.
dragon2: Quote During the contact, own MRAP conveying the Brigade Commander deliberately rammed ISWAPs MRAP which led to destruction of ISWAPs MRAP while own MRAP engulfed in fire. However, the Brigade Commander and the MRAP crew were able to get out of the MRAP but the commander had serious chest injury due to the head on collision. End quote.
Failure to buckle up/ brace before ramming.
These events put to question the quality and efficacy of our battlefield strategy and management in the first instance.
Then we begin to wonder about the level and quality of our equipment.
Getting ambushed should not be a surprise because it's expected you are therefore prepared with an offensive strategy to mitigate against your adversary.
NOTHING these days surprises me about the NA. Not too long ago I watched how the NA attached a HMG to a BTR4 APC in the most rudimentary way. It was claimed we couldn't get the ammunition required for the 30mm guns on the RWS. That rendered this once near IFV a mere tin box with HMG.
To be told that a Brigadier General had to ram the enemy's MRAP to stop it. That sounds very desperate Dan, It beggars belief. So we did not have the basic weaponry to stop an MRAP.
JOSCOFELIX: you give me peace I give you peace, you give me war I give you war that is what life is all about. Choose one
People all have eyes but they all see different thing's.
One sees peace in the same situation that another see's WAR.
This is personal testimony, there was I time I had done so much combat training . That I could literally take out 3/4 people in a matter of 20/25 seconds in any physical confrontation.
However, people could abuse me even assault me , I never seen the need to retaliate and or take retribution. When you know who you are , you don't feel any need to PROVE IT or seek the validation of people you probably don't even know.
JOSCOFELIX: . Because person no talk no mean say we know get bad month. I never anything about endsars some bastard when na mental problem be there issues go dey say rubbish. You see this thread na before I go say I one leave but now we die hear. If you attack me I attack you, if you give me peace I give you peace but if you want war na war will go fight for this thread
Out of the depths of the heart the mouth speaks.
Your words are a reflection of your person in some cases , you are your words.
So if your communication is unguarded, gutter language ,vitriolic and debased , then that's essentially who you are.
I would have advised you to get some manners and be civil, but l think it's going to be waste of time, you are incorrigible
Come guys, this trend of insulting people that disagree with you shoud be toned down. We are mature aduts here
I see anybody engaging in such as immature to be honest. Use facts and not emotions. Some of these people you insult could turn out to be your helpers tomorrow. Some of them you may not be able to ook in the eye if you stand before them. BUt social media has given everyone anonymity and freedom to talk as you like. But please use that freedom wisely. Una hear?
This same samuelanyanwu that has aways fed us with info and updates doesn't deserve the kinda insults he has been getting these past few days
Roan77: Please if you want to quote me, always stick to the main topic, don't bring another past topic in a present discussion. It's your choice to believe the terrorists propaganda or the military propaganda, it's now of my business.
Maybe we have different understanding of basic English language.
To quote you verbatim, " So you would rather believe the terrorists propaganda over the military news? Pls answer the question"
You presented a question in the HERE and NOW and l answered you in context of past , present and continuous.
Subzero047: So agents influenced Chelsea's signing of Saul Niguez ok na, because according to our experts here agents cannot influence anything in football
Pep brother is an agent David Moyes brother is an agent Alex Ferguson son is an agent Sam Allardyce son is a agent.
To name just a few , then you have club managers we who are signed to particular agencies. That gives players signed to those same agencies first choice undue advantage to that club. It is a conflict of interest but people in football accept it as normal.
Then you have the players who are in football clubs who have agencies themselves or by proxy. They then create a situation where they are the preferred agent for the club.
Youth players not signed to the " preferred agent" may find themselves at a distinct disadvantage. Particularly for opportunities in the first team.
It's very dark murky world the business of football.
Roan77: You know wetin the ball down here, but you no dey spit out? And you still dey ask us questions, wey on dey norm, na you supposed dey drop updates for us.
It's not everything you have to say so candidly.
You can use a bit of intelligence and read between the lines. Particularly when his identity can be compromised and the powers that be give him a lot of grief.
Roan77: And who told you that only 2 ISWAP fighters were killed yesterday? You see what I'm talking about emotions, you are angry about the lose of the brigadier general, just other people, but take away the angers in you and now use your brain. So you would rather believe the terrorists propaganda over the military news? Pls answer the question.
In my opinion the very FIRST CASUALTY of WAR is the TRUTH.
As it concerns propaganda l really don't know who's propaganda to believe because they all LIE.
We have no independent news media they simply don't report mainly because of government restrictions on media in that area.
The NA have shown over the years that they are capable of of telling bare faced Lies. The End SARS protests and the shootings at Lekki toll gate come to mind.
SuperSixSeven: The simplicity of HESCO is the key. The logistic needs are small: No Trench digging, no transport of raw materials or prefab concrete barriers needed. You just fill the HESCO bags with local soil and build a fortification that can even withstand explosives like RPGs. A clear advantage in every regards.
ugo4u: How long are we gonna wait or make politicians see the need to fund the military especially the Army? Exploring other options shouldn't be out of the table, it's a matter of national security. It is useless recruiting/training thousands into the military w/o plan to properly cater for their welfare and equipments. The edge Israel have over Arab nations is nothing but cutting edge technology and equipments not really numbers though if we have both it would be excellent. I won't be surprised if we later get to hear that the Brig.Gen that was KIA was going for that reinforcement in a convoy of Toyota Hilux .
Stormtrooper11: Which African country are we gonna ask for help from With the look of things, only Egypt and Algeria can be invited to Nigeria Nigerians, especially the ones in the Southern parts would scream Islamization. Lol. Funny country. The biggest mistake we would do is to invite the Americans or any other Big world Power. They would prolong this damn war. The truth is, nobody understands this war like us. Nobody understands the technicalities of our insecurity like us, the Nigerians.
Then why for goodness sake are getting killed like flies every day.
A Brigadier got KIA very recently, can you imagine the number of troops in company with him.
And they said only 5 combatants got killed. I find that very hard to believe.
TheGoodJoe: With respect to development, a player gains more training with top teams than playing week in week out with weak teams. Do you agree?
By the way, are you saying Awoniyi was a team member for Liverpool for a season? Not training for a window or preseason. I mean part of the squad.
That is the point.
Phil Foden was part of the squad for over two seasons without reasonable playing time. Training under a top coach and with top players. Now he has exploded into a very top player. That is the point.
He trained with U23 mostly to be honest, but even then he was not outstanding. Strong yes, super fast and technical I am sorry No.
There were better boys and younger than him there.
Those boys who were outstanding got promoted to the first team. Two defender CB went from U23 to the first team , when all three first CB got injured.
It's what you do in the youth teams that gives you a bridge to the first team. And then when you get the opportunity or chance do you utilize and make a name for yourself.
Saka got a chance at Arsenal as a 16 year old and claimed a permanent position he just turned 20 a month ago . And he has played 3 competitive season s in the EPL already and is a key player for Arsenal and England national team.
So your proposition about endless training and drills doesn't really cut it for me .
If l look at Liverpool Youth team , my prediction are for a certain 18 year old midfielder James Balagizi, to be the next big thing. It may not happen but that's my view .
A lot of the U23 players will train with the first team and if they impress they get in. Some do it immediately by some needs lots of drilling ( according to you )
In my opinion it's not so deep, managers have preferences and that shows in their selections.
Why not tell us about Iheanacho how moving to a competitive Manchester City boosted his profile. Keep in mind, Nwakali and Awoniyi did not stay and train at the various clubs. If they did, they would have exploded.
The point is training and growing in a big club. Not getting bought by a big club and shipped on loan due to lack of work permit.
Actually Awoniyi trained day in and day out at Liverpool , I saw him and talked with him. Technically speaking he was not outstanding and not rated highly .
Nwakali trained with Arsenal youth teams but once again wasn't outstanding.
Omeruah was relegated to training with U18 at Chelsea at one stage .
I wish I could take you round the English football elite academies. And you will be very surprised by at the level of the technical coaching that is put into 9/10 year olds . The days of kick and rush are completely over. Look at the level of technicality of young English players now is very different.
I think a lot of our boys are technically deficient on arrival at elite academies and have a lot of catching up to do. As a consequence are at a distinct disadvantage.
Subzero047: Hope you know NFF took over the agencies of our under age players, atleast it would prevent them from being taken advantage of by rogue agents and clubs that is a good innovation
LOL very funny so they can be used, abused and discarded by NFF officials looking for the best deal for themselves.
You are making the choice between the DEVIL and the deep blue sea.
It's like which is better getting stopped by Nigeria police at Night or armed robbers, which do you prefer.
Kog45: Oga Subzero, I no get your message o cos we are still having young players going out to places like Moldova,Malta,Bulgaria....hope you remember that Taye Taiwo moved from Lobi star to Olympic Merseilles,Celestine Babayaro from Plateau utd to Anderlecht,James Obiorah from Enyimba to Anderlecht,Finidi George from Calabar Rover to Ajax,Kanu from Iwuayanwu Nationale to Ajax,Taribo West to Auxerre abi na Pinnick be NFF boss at this periods.
Thank you so much.
I think there are many infants here who see very little.
Subzero047: Ebuehi was one of our top 3 performers against Lesotho while Aina was our worst performer against Benin. Ebuehi has always been one of the top performers in each of his matches for the SE
In the last AFCON:
OLA AINA
The 25-year-old and Chelsea Academy product Ola Aina had the highest number of interceptions (15) at the AFCON. He averaged 2.2 tackles, 2.5 interceptions, 5 clearances and 0.5 blocks per game.
These are just raw statistics which are indicative not conclusive. Nonetheless merged with his influence on the games, add to that he did not play all the games he was dropped ( DON'T KNOW WHY) He had the best statistics in the AFCON that really is ASTOUNDING.
Statistics don't lie but people do.
If you add his club performances then it's resoundingly clear who is the best .
But for preference, Awaziem cuts it for me. Afterall he benched Aina in the last game in his preferred RB position. Awaziem has good passes, crosses and defends excellently. He has the eyes of an eagle and the ruggedness of a lion.
Your continuous , consistent and outstanding club performances is what should get you noticed for national team selection.
Awaziem couldn't cut it at Porto and was an add on for the club relegated to Porto B.
He then gets a move to Nantes in the French league,he was such a Lion and so eagle eyed, nobody, not even PSG could afford him. He then as a reflection of outstanding performance went to the highly esteemed Turkish league with Caykur Rizespor.
After outstanding performances he was rewarded with a move to a top side in La Liga with Leganes unfortunately relegated. Once again he exceeded all expectations and went back to Porto who felt he was too good and sent him to Boavista.
He was so exceptional he has been rewarded with another move back to the esteemed Turkish league with Alanyaspor.
I did Balogun a disservice , by saying the Scottish League is not so competitive. However, this esteemed Turkish league by quite a few here is 9 places below the Scottish League rated no 18 in Europe.
The question is why if he is good he is continuously rewarded with moves to Turkey.
Whyem15: LOL, this was SamuelAnyawu just over a year ago.
When something is taken out of context it becomes a CON.
What qualifies the statement is context and that context is COMPARISON to Equatorial rain forest we have in the South. So by comparison the terrain is seemingly a flat land in reality it is NOT.
And if you are in doubt ask or research Google maps satellite is your friend. Where is the Sambisa forest please and what's the terrain there.
ugo4u: It's high time we rally support from ECOMOG and AU or even the UN to come assist us with both men and equipment; if we can rally about 10,000 contingents of these regional forces to take on these terrorists head-on it will go a very long way in this war. It's getting obvious that the military is overwhelmed/overstretched coupled with the fact that they're heavily underfunded especially the Nigerian Army. We should tuck in this big brother abi na giant of Africa mantra in our pockets and seek for assistance anyway and anywhere we could this war has already lingered for too long we can't build a nation in a perpetual state of internal-war.
I disagree with you very strongly the solution is within ourselves.
However, we are a nation of technocrats, visionaries, being led by blind people who no NOTHING and refuse to know.
Whyem15: Could you provide us with any literature to prove trenches are outdated or you could simply explain why it won't work against ISWAP or BH. In the flatlands that the northeast is, elevation isn't much of an advantage when you can see kilometers away while on level ground. Both sides will see each other several minutes before they can engage each other. Except of course the highlands near the mandara mountains. Also, as long as you have a clear line of sight and your aim is true, you will hit your targets conveniently.
NO
It's your choice, to use common sense or hmm
Your proposition FAILS the north east is not the Sahara desert . You have undulating terrain with tree's, long grass and shrubs , there is no clear line of vision.
You can ask SamuelAnyanwu , if you want to be educated.
AskiaHarem: What part of with the help of it's allies did you fail to understand? Do you you have a reading comprehension disorder or something? The international assistance comes primarily in the form of training with diminutive help in actually combating the assailants.
Read carefully and do proper research before you race to act like a foolish C00N again.
Ignorance is bliss , they don't know and argue even insult, yet the know NOTHING.
iboboyswag: I just saw the movie "The Outpost" and I wonder, can't we have something like that for defence perimeters. Jumbo jute bags reinforced with webbed iron nets and filled with dirt.
The trick was just too simple that I wonder why we haven't considered it.
Over the years NOBODY digs trenches anymore not in this modern day. It's like comparing DOS to WINDOWS 10, they are world's apart. And particularly not for forward operating bases.
The HESCO container system see pics below. Very easy to manufacture locally it's a combination of of of wire mesh around , steel framework ( easily collapsible) and synthetic fibre bag ( very thick Ghana must go bag )
You can place them on top of each other and get up 6 metres of elevation and even higher very easily.

The last two picks just leave you BEWILDERED is it INCOMPETENCE or is it lack of knowledge, l really do not know.
For the thermal imaging camera to be really effective you need Elevation, just two metres elevation and you increase greatly your spatial view all round .
Second thing, it's night time and you don't even have a optic sights, laser finder , it's pitch dark you will see nothing.
