Earthquake2:I will attach the match highlights via YouTube and you will see clearly that Awaziem knowing he would be finished for pace. Kept backing off the Cameroon Attacker and then didn't block off the cross which went into our 18 unrestricted and Cameroon scored. So explain how Aina was at fault for the goal. In that match Awaziem was struggling against the much faster Cameroon attackers. He easily could have been sent off. It should be noted that the assist from, Musa for the goal scored by Ighalo came from a very good cross into the box from Awaziem. If there is a statistic for most fouls conceded by a player in the SE, l am sure Awaziem will be among the contenders. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EQX8t3UrdqI |
Danielnino00:You know common sense should teach everyone that there is always a number of different versions of the same story depending on who you speak too. First question do you know Victor Moses ❓ So how on earth can you come to such conclusion about a person you don't know have probably never met in your life. Just on HEARSAY don't you think that's a bit hasty and I'll advised. Maybe because in my experience the media image of some players and who they are in most cases are MILES APART. |
Earthquake2:In general I go to Europe at least 4/5 times a year because of football. Watching live matches not on TV or video clips and speak with a few coaches. |
Danielnino00:This is not about emotive sentiment but performances on the field of play. Tell me one unjustifiable comment with regards to selection and or strict performance l have made about any of these players. KC has flopped badly and there is no way you can dress it up. Omeruo is an average defender that will never play for Chelsea. He is not outstanding he may be the best Nigerian CB it doesn't make him a top quality player. Osimhen was unjustifiably selected as an academy player for the SE. Was justifiably selected for the AFCON but currently lacks the physicality with regards to this competition and his 50 minutes second half performance was abysmal. Awaziem is a makeshift players with multiple inadequacies playing the Full/ Wing back position. Because your goalkeeper plays as a striker and puts up below average performance you then say he has been exceptional and done VERY WELL because he is a goalkeeper we must make exceptions. That's your rational proposition for claiming he Awaziem has performed. It's an excuse to accept mediocrity. However, Awaziem did not perform to the required standard irrespective of his circumstances. That's the pertinent observation no sentiment involved. |
BascoVanVeli:I think you are probably CORRECT, however, l don't think he should ever have left in the first place. He will NEVER make public his reason for leaving vthe SE because it's just too politically heated IMO as well as we may not like to hear the bitter truth. |
Odunayaw:Not too long ago l said we didn't have a striker as good as Tega. There was hell fire and brimstone sent my way garnished with the usual vitriolic caustic rhetoric. Many said he was not as good as Ighalo, KC, Osimhen, etc. He has been a top scorer in the championship over the two seasons. And did not too much at a relegation fighting Swansea that had lost its way. He is 21 and has played 130 first team games and effective three seasons, you can confidently say he is an experienced consistent top quality player. |
darkelf:Younger is not a stand alone attribute that equates to outstanding quality. I am 100% sold out for the best performing players to be selected based on consistent continous outstanding top quality performances in thier clubs and leagues. If those players are 40 or 16 is irrelevant. Let the best man come in no sentiment or emotional bias. In this regard if Vic Mo comes back with open arms and the killing of goat l will welcome him back. If Obagoal starts to Register OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCES in club and league I will welcome him too. |
andrew444:Onuachu has been consistently delivering as a forward over 5 season. GHe has been outstanding player in his club and league. When he came on he brought something different he influenced the game he was a focal point and impacted the game. That's just being object without emotive sentiment. |
charlesemeka85:That's not the issue. The issue is overall consistent continous performances not exceptions. The attributes to be an outstanding Wing/ Full back he simply does not have. He doesn't have the basics. First of all he has Zero pace that is huge disadvantage in that position that alone pushes you to the bottom of the pile. Secondly his technical ability with 1 on 1 offensive play was very limited. What he did do very well he was VERY INTELLIGENT he realised his handicaps and played within those limitations but his limitations meant he couldn't support Chukwueze and or come forward to attack. But the issue was that both the SA and Algerians recognised his handicaps. That made him the weakest link as a full/ Wing back. Knowing fully well his deficiencies he should never have been playing that position. Irrespective of how he managed his deficiencies. |
Earthquake2:I think you are being delusional go and watch the Algeria game and see how many times he was left for dead by the Algerians he was nearly yellow carded in the first 10 minutes and the referee gave him a verbal warning. Awaziem was the weakest link IMO. |
Earthquake2:In my opinion our defenders were very poor particularly our CB. Ekong clearing ball anywhere and anyhow like Police or is it Balogun that was making primary school boy errors Or Omeruo who was misting headers and getting bullied like a youth player. So tell me what statistic did our CB's excelled in comparison to other CB's in this AFCON , that's the pertinent unit of measurement. What's remarkable is that Aina could have such impressive stats consider he was dropped for two games. It means the possibility exists that his could have been much better and on multiple fronts that makes head and heals above all our current defenders in this AFCON. |
do4luv14:It's a very simple choice between SENSELESS or CORRUPTED which poison do you prefer. |
Daninya111:Ighalo we know had the highest number of goals. But for Aina to have the highest number of interceptions, I did not know considering he was dropped for two games TOTALLY UNJUSTIFIABLY if you ask me and didn't get too play all the games that puts him ahead of all our defenders and is essentially OUR BEST DEFENDER, no bias just FACT. |
charlesemeka85:Why did it take so long to establish that this guy was simply not the right person for this position. |
valenu:CORRUPTION HAS BEEN BLESSED SANCTIFIED & ENTHRONED. We are enjoying the change. Sai Buhari |
mostob:Unless you know him personally and have access to the camp and players all you are talking about is presumptive negative with zero foundation. |
darkelf:If Patriotism, Hunger, Being Younger, were the only attributes for Success then India with thier young hungry population would win the world cup every year. Nobody currently can replace Victor Moses and Ighalo currently, who are only 28 and 30 years. |
darkelf:Agreed without reservation or question |
TheGoodJoe:Agreed in principle. However, that cancer that bedevils everything in Nigeria affects football a lot. Then the problem of arrangement and favoritism and players having to sign with the coaches preferred agent, etc. Until we deal with corruption these matters persist. Why do you think Rohr got the job a seasoned manager in Africa who understands how we do our things and will give to Ceasar what Ceasar demands, with such a huge salary. Merit alone ❓ |
andrew444:You should understand football politics very few EPL clubs will loan thier up and coming young prospective players to thier rival EPL clubs. It's always been like that apart from maybe Chelsea they may sometimes but rarely. |
andrew444:Check my past comments over two years ago when l first watched him play LIVE as a left back at 16 years old against Blackburn in the Championship. How many English Left Fulback have had bids of over £30 million rejected. |
Earthquake2:Are you saying that our team is the most talented in the AFCON ❓ ❓ ❓ |
andrew444: What is Championship standard ❓ Fulham was the best footballing side in the Championship before winning promotion to the EPL. I suspect they will continue with that philosophy, hopefully they will not loose too many players and will bounce back to the EPL. If the reports are true, best move for him. With regards to possible options for the AM role he IMO is the best out of all the Nigerian origin players in the UK. In terms of football quality it's a near perfect fit for Onomah, on the deck technical football. But most of all he will have OPPORTUNITY to develop and claim position and be in the EPL next season with Fulham ot anybody else if matters go according to plan. Tottenham will have got the best English left Fulback in the name of Ryan Ssegnon. Last summer Liverpool had a bid of £30 million rejected by Fulham. So good business for him. |
darkelf:The Nigerian problem can be expressed in the proposition as follows, " The acceptance of Failure is the beginning of SUCCESS " We refuse to accept failure as the antidote for finding the solution for success. We instead enthrone MEDIOCRITY and then our in depth cancer CORRUPTION is being treated with paracetamol. |
charlesemeka85:I made comments about this quite some time ago and as usual there were some that called it HATE. |
okoroemeka:This a journey that I did not want to go Solo. As a result there is just one problem with the journey, 9ja people are too afraid even of thier own shadows. I have done my research the most difficult, risky treacherous and dangerous part of the journey is getting into Nigeria after crossing the border at Seme now your problems start, first of all no more night driving, Etc. Your probability hazard risk factors goes up 10 times fold comparative to 8 African countries you have just driven through. See YouTube clips below https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YRolbaAtLlM https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bIyvgLyRkTI https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G5ILu4RAP0g https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2cqJsfq6W0U https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o_k-ytFesMM The last video is a group of crazy guys who used vespa's not even Okada but vespa. So you can see the problem is one of indepth ignorance and l guess culture. There is no money to be made just am adventure. |
jihday:His career has not been a HUGE DISSAPOINTMENT rather to the contrary has been VERY PROGRESSIVE. But my comments where specific to that last match. I had great EXPECTATIONS, l was sitting in EXCITED SUSPENSE, l expected him to be consumed with overwhelming desire to prove that he is the NEW DROGBA. Sometimes in football you get one chance to prove your self. He did not show anything infact he substantiated all the reasons why Rohr did not play him. Which is he's not good enough. I waa sorely disappointed. I remember certain players it was one match they used to seize jersey. I give the examples of Amunike and Yobo one game and they were in. |
kellycute:If you look at the way Sana, Raheem, Aguero and Gabriel play for Many city. Dribbling without end product in the modern game is simply NONSENSE FOOTBALL ENTERTAINMENT and will lead you nowhere. We Africans love it but European football looks at it only when there is consistent continous top class outstanding END PRODUCT. Without that, it becomes unnecessary excessive noise making. He will be very wise to stay at Villareal and learn and develop more. It's better to improve and create consistency and long term career progression than short term gains that may not enhance his career. |
Danielnino00:What they haven't talked about and added to the equation is the other players in the U23 and on loan who are knocking on the door for first football. They are looking at him in isolation and exclusion as if there are not any other quality players in the mix. So even the assumption of back up is not CERTAIN. Most people think that quality is all about maverick dribbling without end product and or team cohesion. His blistering pace may not be so blistering in the EPL and depending on how much they have paid for him it's quite probable he could end up in the U23's. |
Danielnino00:Agreed without reservation |
darkelf:Young does not equate to better and or comparable. Victor Osimhen was totally woeful and a huge DISSAPOINTMENT. I expected him to get on that pitch like a caged Lion seize his OPPORTUNITY l was filled with excitement and anticipation. Instead he was Running around like a headless chicken and couldn't impose himself on the games had zero physicality and it's not like he has mesmerising skills. He has a long way to go hopefully as it seems he is going to French league one. Which is a lot tougher than the Belguim league he will have to STEP UP HIS GAME. Otherwise it will all go down like a flat tyre. Chukwueze still has a lot to learn he would be wise to stay at Villareal and keep developing before going anywhere else. We have a lot of young pretenders but nobody better clearly than the existing players. As it stands not one of the young pretenders can replace VICTOR Moses. They just do not have his quality YET. So who are the young ones that can take the place of our existing players quality for quality like for like. ❓ ❓ |
andrew444:I was disappointed by all three of them, l actually can not tell who is worse, Ekong that turned to police corporal booting the ball anyhow at the slightest hint of trouble doubt. Or Omeruo who couldn't deal with basic heading the ball. Balogun who became a primary schoolboy with silly errors. |
