Still looking for the part which quotes her saying: 'I NEED a husband' though. You're adding your own spice I understand, but you shouldn't neccesarily miscontrue someone's quotes to suit what you intend to project. |
Good for him. But why did it take him so long to rectify him if he could have equally afforded it a long time ago? I had thought he had damned the consequences and risen above the negativity people accorded to his looks cuz of that. Its all good anyway. Go Gaucho. |
Top 100 in the World? That got me laughing hard. Top 100 in Africa is more like it for a few select of Nigeria's universities. |
Gross! |
In instances as such though, its hard to figure out who is right or wrong. There have probably been many behind-the-scenes issues between them that the public won't know about. After all said, I wish Black Face would enjoy more success with his musical career (i.e If its not too late already). There's something sad about seeing a musician who once promised so much eventually give so little. |
For someone who's not really a business expert like me, its hard to see the rationale behind the Blackberry company licensing its major pulling power to other platforms. It would invariably draw more users in their millions back into the BBM sphere, but it would definitely affect the ever fledgling Blackberry smartphone sales negatively cuz I can't imagine myself still using a dead-pan Blackberry phone with its relatively sluggish and antique OS and processors when there are better phones whose processing speeds, battery life and screen sizes are of behemoth proportions, and to make issues worse, able to connect via BBM. I'd be surprised if the Blackberry company don't stop manufacturing phones altogether soon. They have probably sold out their last bargaining chip. |
This has gone viral since yesterday on social networks, and I actually thought it to be a joke. Fasting for God's intervention on an academic strike? Hilarious. |
At this stage, its safe to say the only thing that might prevent Nigeria from featuring in Brazil would be Complacency. |
The only thing that might prevent Nigeria from featuring at the next World Cup now is nothing other than Complacency. |
Let him put his money where his mouth is. Until he does that, all he's been blowing is nothing but hot air. |
The woman is really lucky. Travelling at that height with that sort of pressure around you in that vulnerable state is frankly asking for trouble. I hope she makes a full recovery though. Regardless of what might happen/could have happened though, the Child was still born in an Arik aircraft, so he/she is still a full-blooded Nigerian. No dual nationality issues. ![]() |
Stop comparing the genders. All you'd sincerely be coming up against is a Cul-de-sac. Appreciate the way you've been created and revel in the knowledge that you're special. There is no simple explanation as to why Males behave like males, why females behave like females, moreover both genders don't share exactly the same hormones, even down to the molecular level of the chromosomes, the genders are not exactly identical, so let sleeping dogs lie. The same girls asking why Guys don't behave like girls would be the first to come on Nairaland and create a thread 'My Boyfriend, husband might be a gay...Help' when he really behaves like that. If you really wanna know why guys behave like guys, who better to find out from than the designer of their bodies?...(that is, if he would answer you). I've moved around a bit, and all the guys I've seen relate to themselves the same way, with the exception of gays. Bottom line: Know that the difference in the genders transcends their physical differences. Appreciate the diversity that the differences brings into the mix too, otherwise the World would be such a boring place if everyone were wired the same way. |
To those folks in Glasgow or Glasgow-bound, I'm not too versed about how it goes down in the University of Glasgow, but I've got a fair grasp of how Nigerian students do fare in Glasgow, especially for those who live around the City Centre, City of Glasgow College area, Argyle Street, Buchanan, Braehead, All the areas adjoining the Clyde, including Stratclyde. Got loads of buddies studying in GCU too, so I'd know one or two things too about their lifestyles, Glasgow nightlife and living in general. I hope you guys enjoy your stay though. Cheers. |
The Lagos State Governor and government will have their own shortcomings, fair share of mistakes and toe-steppings, but you'd be biased to deny that there's been more positives to take out of the BRF government than negatives. Lagos has definitely become a trail-blazer for other states. It didn't achieve its current mega conurbanate status during BRF's tenure, but the man has certainly added something much more positive to the state than a lot of other governors would have (including his own predecessor) whilst he's been in power. For that, he gets my thumbs up, and I can only hope his service to Lagosians keeps improving. However anyone that knows he/she can do better than BRF's done/doing is free to take up his toga and contest in the next Lagos governorship elections. Sayonara. |
Anything is actually headline news in Nigeria when a popular Nigerian is involved, I guess. ![]() |
Gotta say after reading through 10 pages of the spin-offs that originated from the original debate, Its becoming harder for me to have symphathy for folks who've got issues that are sexuality based in their matrimonial homes. You simply get as good as you give. Whatever goes around comes around. If you fornicate or commit adultery, it will stick with you indirectly/directly, it will haunt you with you/without you knowing sometimes. If you've got the determination to remain chaste, do so without the fear and trepidation of people constituted of flesh, bones and blood taking you for a fool or dunce. Self worth is not measured by the praises others sing to your ears nor is it measured by the approval of fellow humans. It is measured by what your conscience tells you that you're worth. If you've not got the willpower to hold on or the circumstances are against you, its not the end of the world...However, to everything you do there's a repercussion. The repercussions may vary in frequency and intensity, but there will be. What you should do though is to be responsible for the results of your actions however favourable/unfavourable they turn out to be. |
Damn. To think she's gotta drive a car, walk around, eat food, and live her life like a normal woman takes some thinking. If I didn't know better, I'd say surgeons should remove the eyeballs, turn 'em upside down and fix 'em back in...lolz. Its all good though. All humans are unique via their creation. |
The crazy thing 'bout death threats/warnings is you can't confidently say which is real or empty. Either way, anybody issued one has to treat it like the former. There are millions of looney people. You can't say which one of 'em would have a vendatta against you. |
What's preventing them from surrendering themselves and their arms? Either way (staying alive or dead) they are doomed already. Its a lose-lose situation. |
Whatever could have been the reason for his blunders on TV, he's been made much more popular than he was before the interview. Won't be surprised if one of these days, I see the same man interviewed and splashed upon the centrespread of one of Nigeria's best selling newspapers. Fate has a way of turning bad circumstances to good ones. However, the man should learn to speak in terms independent of his boss, his reference to his boss is becoming comical, lest one begins to wonder if there's more to their relationship than meets the eye. |
People keep setting new records for the stunts they are capable of pulling off whilst in desperate times. I wouldn't be surprised if after this, the boy might be detained indefinitely at a police station, instead of getting him rehabilitated. Desperate times calls for desperate measures indeed, but hiding outside a aeroplane flying in mid-air is pitching slightly towards insanity though. |
True. But I guess no one will stop him if he decides to champion the cause in Kiri-kiri though. It could be a morale boost to the inmates there too hehehe. |
I suppose it is, especially within the first and second trimesters. However, during the 8th and 9th months, it won't kill anyone to let the pregnant woman breath freely, at least till a few months post-childbirth. That's my opinion though. |
amanikondo: What is symbolic in ORDINARY NIGERIAN PASSPORT ?Tear a Briton's National passport, a North American's passport, an Indian's passport, or a Chinese man's passport, heck tear a South African man's passport, after tearing the passports, burn it and gift wrap the ashes back to them. Then, come back to this thread, quote this post, ask me again and I will tell you. |
No wonder some UKIP party leaders criticize the UK's annual grant of funds to 'Bongo-Bongo land' while claiming that the recipient governments only use the grants to procure Private Jets, Champagne, and Sunglasses. A bold assertion it is, but kinda true really. |
The frustration is understandable, Nigeria is frankly a failed state. However, the tearing and burning of the Nigerian passport would be a forthrightly stupid and senseless act. The passport is symbolic, and shouldn't have to bear the brunt of the frustration borne out by the indiscretion of inept leaders. |
A 94 year old president. It boggles the mind. I'm sure he'd still run for the presidency again after his current tenure runs out. Where are military coups when you are need them? ![]() |
Hmm. I've heard about it, and my take on it is: "if the devil can be real...an 'Akudaya' can also be very real. However, what I can't fathom yet is why they happen. |
I wouldn't know for sure but this attack is reminiscent of the operations of a 'Death-Squad' in Sunni-Shia conflicts' parlance, and its evident so many folks on here don't know what goes into dividing a country and shit. Its not achieved as quickly or as smoothly as sharing up slices of bread. Nigeria has gotta be one of the most diverse countries on earth and would easily have been one of the most powerful if the diversity could be put to good use. Some folks be talking about civil war. Civil war pitting who against who? Muslims against Christians, or Tribe against Tribe? How can a civil war break out when the maimings affect each and every tribe, faith, and religion in the country? Only people with brains the size of a walnut would think that's possible. If Nigeria ever splits, the seperation would never make things better or easier for any of the component parts, but even harder. Worse still, each part of Nigeria still has much more tribes inherent in them, even with history of wars, strife, killings amongst them. The Yorubas & Igbo peoples still have so many clans, ethnos entwined within them, apart from the fact that you'd find at least 10 tribes in Yorubaland alone (that I know of), and I'm sure you'd find out its the same in the North, East, and what have you. Its not hard to see that whatever the challenges the nation faces, it faces everyone in it squarely. The government has failed the people it governs for too long, and it needs to get its acts in order by sorting out the Boko-Haram sect in its totality in quicktime, though it will be helpful if the people living around the hotspots help the government out by assisting its means of chasing out terrorism, not sabotaging it. Nevertheless, may the soul of the dead RIP and may this attack instill more drive in the government to wipe out all forms of religious extremism in the country. Long live my fatherland, Nigeria. |
Maybe you should carefully/properly read the comments. Of course an airline has weight limits. That is not the issue. Nigerians go to dubai to purchase goods. Most of these goods are not personal items and are subject to fees if properly declared. Have you been on an emirate flight from dubai? How can one passenger possess 5-6 bags of ghana must go and term them "personal luggage". Come on, we know the deal
Yea. I get it. However, I doubt the Emirates staff would load 5-6 bags in the name of just one person. I've flown DXB - LOS a few times via Emirates and anytime I checked in there, the maximum weight allowed was 45kg in one bag, or 25kg in 2 bags for economy fliers (I can't remember the figures exactly), so I doubt the airline would permit more than 2 bags even if the combined weight was permissible. However, whatever the circumstances might be leading to leaving the departure airport with your bags in the cargo hold of the plane enroute your destination (unless you're heading for a transit airport), I don't think its legal for the destination airport staff to offload your luggages and then start asking you to pay them 2,000 bucks per bag for carraige. Its just like the trolleys at MMIA that you've got to pay for before using them. Its Illegal to part with your money in these circumstances. |
