One day, I hope the country will be in a state where her citizens will not want and need to be in 'Diaspora' but in situ. A place that all of us will be proud to be associated with. |
himkers:So the baby's genetic mutation was due to 'jazz' and because he/she was born in the North. You must be the 'smartest' Nigerian in the world mate. You deserve an award for that. |
It's not a problem that is only found in Blackberry phones tho'. That is why it's good to advise others who are expecting emails from you to also give their spam boxes the occasional run-through. |
As much as i'm trying to see the point of the comedian, it's defeatist to always try to attribute everything negative that happens in one's life to witches and wizards. If he REALLY wanted to advice them, he could have sought for their phone numbers/emails and talked to them in person. These guys are everyday people, just like everyone else, but more popular. Moreover, it's their Instagram. If you don't want to see them flaunt their pictures before you, stay away from it. The same people that are telling them not to post pictures of their baby on Instagram will be the first to also insinuate something negative if they didn't post anything about it. Live and let others live. |
@OP how about you listing those foods that are aphrodisiacs alongside those that are not. You shouldn't just scare people off these aforementioned foods, rather you should give them an alternative, no? I gotta admit though, the 'plan' part in the title made it a tad hilarious to me. Yea, right. People design a 'plan' to have sex. ![]() |
After 40+ days in office, it seems people are still divided on the President and his predecessor. This is not exactly surprising given the disparity that politics usually creates. However, the earlier all Nigerians realize that it will take a super-miracle to impeach any sitting Nigerian president, the earlier we should come to terms about the new President and give him the support he needs. I remember one of the last straws that broke the back of the camel for me with the last admin was when the former President admitted that 'Stealing was not a result of Corruption', and kept churning out the same party line after every bomb blast whilst sitting on his hands. I know for sure that if the bomb blasts had stopped immediately the new President assumed office, people will still complain and say that he had been the mastermind behind it all afterall. The problems Nigeria have are not just those that sprang up within the past 6 years alone, some of them are over a century old and these things don't just go away at the snap of a man's fingers. The better we all realise that the new government has come to stay irrespective of our differing political loyalties and give it our support, the better we are for it. |
So, who recited the vows, put the ring on her finger and kissed the bride? Some awkward ish right there. ![]() |
The old man might be slandered due to his own inadequacies but his statement remains a poignant one. Civilization is not without its own wheat and chaff. Separating them tho' requires much more than education or "21st century" ideals. Its quite funny that those who accuse people who are against same-sex marriages of intolerance, living in the 15th century, being religious bigots etc are also the usual culprits that can't tolerate you and abuse you for expressing your opinion on a very sensitive topic as such. If you think those who oppose homosexuality are out-of-date, living dinosaurs, you are no better than those early men whom we were told survived on wild herbs, berries and seeds. |
bushdoc9919:It can and it will. However, you'd only be able to enjoy such prospective reductions as from the 2nd year of study since you'd have to produce the evidence of you having enough funds to pay for at least the first year before you'd be allowed to travel. All-in-all in my opinion, its still expensive and if you or your benefactor(s) cannot afford to pay the fees easily without you getting a job, its best to look elsewhere. Getting a part-time job can sometimes be a lot more harder than you would have bargained for. |
ApexTitan:Regardless of what you're studying for under Tier 4, you'd be spending a minimum sum of £9,600 - £12,000 on your upkeep per year (i.e about 3 - 3.8 million naira per year). If you're on a 3 year programme, that's somewhere around £30,000. If you're on a 4 year course, that extends to about £40,000 - £45,000. You'd spend roughly the same sum on your tuition in terms of an average figure, but this varies largely from course to course/university to university. Having said that, I don't agree that £90,000 is the minimum that will be required. It is a moderate figure. You can spend quite less than that. You can also end up spending much more than that. |
Some deranged loonies on here are actually blaming the dead young man for his own death. Makes one wonder deeply about what goes on the head of the everyday folks you see around you on the street. These same halfwits will blame people who get hit by stray bullets for being where they were irrespective of reason. I hope y'all gonna live long and die by natural causes, but if by any chance any of y'all don't, know that the same blame you throw at others today will be leveled at your corpse likewise. Disgusting cretins. |
We can all choose to deny it, but there's never been anything ordinary and definitively logical about the way the world works and has worked over time. There is nothing ordinary about what life is and the unseen, unwritten laws that govern it. You might not want to believe in any particular religion but you'd be fooling yourself if you think the complexity inherent in the design of every natural thing around us just fell into place by the systemic functions of randomness and probability. In my field whilst traveling at sea, straddling those screaming waves, listening to the lapping of the waters from dusk till dawn as they have been since the beginning of time itself, watching the sun rise and set in its full glory, seeing some of the planets flash in the sky and disappear again, in those places at sea where men fear to tread and angels seem to lurk, i have come to realize without a hint of a doubt that there is an almighty creator behind all that there is, he cannot be fully understood, trying to read his mind via the works of his hands is impossible, as the human brain and mind themselves have got their own limits of contemplation...but he surely exists and there's nothing we as humans can do about it. |
tjskii:Nice conspiracy theory. You were obviously there when they discussed kids and the guy 'agreed' to wait for 3 years. It doesn't really matter anyway as the guy is always the scapegoat. I hope you too have made plans to stay off men forever as they never bring anything positive to a relationship but heartbreaks and babies from other women. I'm beginning to revel in the torrent of these cretinous men-always-cheat-and-are-always-to-blame bandwagon jumpers. I really am. ![]() |
ToyozzieTohBad:That means you already know that you will end up marrying a hyperventilating demon innit? Save yourself the inevitable heartbreaks. Fall in love with a fellow woman and marry her. Finito la musica. |
DrGroove:If everything you've said is true and you're aware of everything a normal man is, then I hope you have made up your mind to marry a woman instead and if you're the 'independent' type, i hope you've laid out your plans to live all through life alone. You will need those plans and i suspect you've made 'em already. If that's true, I congratulate you as you won't have to suffer any heartbreak from any man since you know 'em all already. Cretin. |
adeaks:Of course, she is an adult and there's no universal prescription for decent dressing. If you can't advice your sister when you seem to think she's heading off course cuz she's an 'adult', what does that make you? |
ijustdey:It's safer to start saving up some money. You'll need a lot of it when the pregnancy test results become positive. You wouldn't want to be caught unawares, would you? |
Is there anyone who delves into politics in Nigeria with the mantra of political loyalty embedded in his/her psyche? You don't have to be a President to know the right answer to that. His government has been a mess, and the fact that he's garnered more respect during his last couple of months in office than the preceding 6 years says a lot. He gets to hand over the Presidency this week with the blessings and approval of the masses. He has deserved it. Maybe next time, he'd choose those he'd surround himself with a bit more carefully. |
There are no indications that she's his 'girlfriend' I think. It could easily have been a random stranger hoping to pull a fast one, in which case the guy in question has proved to be cunny but smart. ![]() |
The President-elect of Nigeria oozes true optimism and not the plastic political optimism Nigerians have come to know for a long time. The question now is if he will able to fulfil the aspirations of the people (at least to an effective degree). Nevertheless, one thing that he can take to the bank is the fact that he was the man chosen by the people to lead them, he stirred something in Nigerians that a lot of us have not felt before, thus he is going to be given the benefit of the doubt overwhelmingly. |
Now, that is a trait that's uncommon to find within African 'leaders' talk less of a Nigerian one. If this man can successfully superimpose on the psyche of his fellow politicians the mentality to live modestly and shun corruption throughout his tenure, he will easily come to be known as the best Nigerian leader of his generation. His coming to power is already the fairest in our democratic history. Here's to him delivering the goods. |
It might be Pesticides. Fair enough. But its impossible to detect/diagnose which is a spiritual attack with a lab test in any case. The dark arts have never been proven Scientifically. That is not to say they don't exist. Being educated does not mean one should be ignorant and narrow-minded. ![]() |
NickiRoman:The opening poster never said anything about 'all women'; which indicates that he is not generalizing. He even indicated that the post won't apply to everyone but some. You don't have to keep going uber-defensive on subjects that are raised about the womenfolk. There are probably over 4 billion women on earth and the chances are you've only met a ten millionth of them. Speak for yourself. |
Enegod:Arriving at the gates of heaven and finding her name in the book of life with Angel Gabriel grinning from ear to ear. ![]() |
Wouldn't be surprised if he actually said such. The religious institutions in Nigeria are seen as political pawns by the politicians. |
He probably hasn't heard the joke about holding the Nigerian flag steadfastly on Judgement day so that the angels can know Nigerians have already been living in hell. ![]() |
A 13 year old already an apprentice? A 75 year old man boning a 13 year old? That cannot be consensual. The man deserves to be charged for child molestation and thrown behind bars. I would like to be a fly on the wall of the room where the young mother will explain to her child how he/she was conceived. |
Seems this 'zoning' stuff is a bigger deal than I thought. If you're in a 'zone', its definitely cuz you want to be there. Sticking around in such zones with futile hopes raised, to me, means that you probably deserve to be there. Nuff said. Nice guys finish last? That belief applies to an extreme minority of 'nice guys'...at least of the ones I know. A lot of the nice ones I know are really having some hard times selecting their pick among the plethora of 'options' they're being bombarded with everyday, basically cuz they are 'nice' and are seen as final 'bus stops', rather than connecting ones. Indeed, there are plenty of fishes in the sea as the saying goes. If your bait is good, your hooks might be torn off the line if you're not careful enough. I live at sea so I've seen it happen a lot. ![]() |
MightySparrow:Science is not the be-all and the end-all of life. I'm a nautical scientist but I know there are things that Science cannot prove or disprove totally because like everything there is, science also has its own flaws. About the universality of beliefs about spirits, dead people coming back to life, incarnation et al, I can boldly tell you, based on my travels and insight, that Africans are probably the 6th or 7th people on my list of the spookiest supernatural theorists ever. The Indians, Chinese, Japanese, Arabs, Australians, and even the Celts are among some of the people that top the list for me. Here's one: In China, it is illegal to be reincarnated without due permission given by the government. Go figure. My take on topics such as this, where science has no clue whatsoever, especially in areas where there's no clear cut explanation as such is that we'll never understand everything about life itself, but IF you believe that the Devil/Satan can 'happen', then there's nothing else that can't happen. |
Who the hell on earth is 'Independent'? If you think having money to pay bills makes you independent, why not eat, drink, and bathe in the money? Why purchase goods and services with the money? None bar none is 'Independent'. I understand the context with which the OP is talking about 'Independent women' but even then its all a status symbol. If you wanna be really Independent, go create your own country, live there alone, build your own house yourself, build your own car yourself, plant your own food, create your own business and patronize yourself FFS. Show me someone who claims to be an Independent person and I'd show you an ungrateful person who simply disregards the contribution of other people in his/her life. |
If the government should devote its resources towards providing free 'mass' education and mass employment and the creation of jobs en masse, I think every respectable man or woman in Gombe wouldn't require any assistance whatsoever from the government in order to get married. The rationale behind giving them fish, but not teaching them how to catch the fish as is evident in this scenario is a warped and baffling one. Talk about misplaced priorities and you'll be bang on point. |
