RIP to the dead. Brasil had better get its streets sorted before the World Cup next year to save itself from a lot of political and diplomatic hand-wringing. |
This is looking like it'll be a drawn out affair. |
If you're that concerned about the abolition of homosexual relations in Nigeria, were you handicapped from protesting while the bills banning them were being deliberated upon in the National Assembly of Nigeria? Even in those countries that are 'First-World' and accept it, the majority of their peoples are still not in support of it and the governments that have legalized it didn't do it cuz of Zap all freedom of thoughts or speech or whatever, they did it purely cuz of the political implications it'd have. A lot of the states in the US have not even accepted it yet. It has been debated back and forth in Westminster Abbey for about a decade or so and its only gaining some foothold within the Lords and MPs cuz some of them are also homosexuals, and the Prime minister is concerned about how to win the votes of the homo population even if they are a minority. All votes count, otherwise in such a conservative society such as Britain's, where Wayne Rooney was banned for weeks and fined heavily from playing football for saying 'f.uc..k' on TV (and was said to be a bad role model to children cuz of that), you normally won't find such, the same Britain is now set to permit gays to kiss freely and grope about on the streets, get married in Churches/Mosques, and even adopt kids. Which kinds of kids would Gays and Lesbos raise? Who would explain to those kids that their homo parents have 'sex' and its not a civil partnership? How would the said kids feel if they happen to become religious while growing up? A devastated child isn't it? That homosexuality has been in existence since pre-historic times doesn't mean its normal. If you're pro-homosexuality based on freedom of thoughts, speech, deeds and all, go propose with a ring to your mother in front of your father in Africa and watch their reaction, or better still grab your sister or brother and make him/her see reasons as to becoming your bride or groom. Afterwards, claim you did it cuz you're naturally wired that way. Afterall, its a free world. If you're in Africa, respect the African cultures and norms. Otherwise, respectfully do one. That said, the Funmi woman crying wolf over her banned show knew she was putting her reputation and show on the line when she called the dude up, innit? She risked a lot of things to propagate her beliefs, it back-fired and it was good that she sucked it up. If she wants to do stuff like that, let her go and apply to work at CNN. They'd happily take her in if she's qualified. |
Get a high paying job, or be the owner of a Bank account whose figures are in sevens and eights and I bet you that your hair style won't matter a jot. If she had detested you for your Afro or Braids, she'd be the first to even suggest that she becomes your personal hair-dresser for fear of losing you to a professional one...Lolz. |
Talk about trying to cut off your nose in order to spite your face. ![]() |
How about banning all non-muslims from entering or passing through Saudi Arabia, Saudi Arabian waters or airspace? Perhaps they think that will boost their economy someway or the other. Religious fanaticism, uber-warped thinking and intolerance bordering on the edge of madness. |
I've got a number of nerdy friends and they're cool, however you ought to be sure that you can cope with their shortcomings before dating one otherwise the next topic on the nairaland frontpage would be about a girl complaining: 'He never pays attention to me - Is he gay?' 'He's obsessed with laptops, games and he is not the neatest guy in the world - Is he still a kid? *I've got a bit of some nerdy attributes but I don't fit the stereotype bill. Bring up discussions about stuff relating to my field, the Nautical sciences and some other topics and the geek in me would wake up with a bang tho'* |
Nigerians have undergone the law of diminishing 'religious, ethnic killings and emotional returns' if there's anything like that. Death tolls are merely the play of numbers nowadays. There's not a lot of sentiments attached unless you've been affected directly by any of the attacks Nigerians have witnessed. So Yes, Nigerians are not getting used to killings. Unfortunately,we have already. |
Its hilarious when you've got female buttcracks who walk around naked and bare chested in the 21st century quoting the scriptures and insinuating which are the true and false prophets of God. If you don't believe it, its better to keep your traps shut than slander a man whose spiritual gifts you can't disprove. Afterall, his activities that we know of show more goodwill in the way of Christian ethics towards the poor, needy and the homeless than some of the more celebrated pastors some of 'em retards worship. |
AccessME: Waitin u dey tweet again?mr tweeter, tweetest!were u delivered in scoan yestday! yes or no?Have you been living under a rock? ![]() |
Its crazy as to what lengths frustration can drive folks to. The man is straddling the border of sanity and insanity and he really needs some kind of rehabilitation. Lots of ticking time-bombs living on the edge like this that walk around everyday that just need the slightest form of ignition to vent their pent-up frustration on unsuspecting people. May God save the weak from their oppressors tho'. |
Nigeria = The African imitation of Iraq. ![]() |
Lolzzz. I've had this video for a while on my PC and I do watch it again and again if I'm in need of some comic relief. That said, everyone's not got the same capacity for learning of, and fluency in English language. ASUU Strike might be the cause? The OP must be joking. |
I suspect the poster is just being sarcastic, however women and women groups have gone all berserk with all the gender equality thingy they've championed in the most recent decades gone by, so it'd be a welcome idea for more women to woo guys. Infact, if both genders are equal women also ought to be able to buy diamond rings, go on their knees and propose to the man of their dreams and not wait for the man to do all that. Men also deserve some form of feminine chivalry. :-D |
And then the accusations, counter-accusations, and denials start flying. You gotta question the rationale behind folks sending pictures of their intimate body parts to probably their flings anyway. They should have learnt from previous examples of celebrities getting themselves exposed in the news as such. Well, to each his/her own. |
Strictly sticking to the topic; I think there's no black or white answer without any parts shaded grey. Like a lot of people must have opined, it can be a bit of the different strokes thingy. Some will. Some won't. However, one thing I'm pretty sure of is that; If your looks and bank statements are good to go, you'll not just intimidate some, but an overwhelming lot of 'em. |
justwise: That is the last place i will advice anybody to buy laptop or phone, any good laptop or phone you buy too cheap from them is most likely a stolen or damaged then patched up one, those group of pple are the most fraudulent you can ever come across, they are the equivalent of Nigerian 419ners/yahoo yahoos.I already said it that you are as likely to get a faulty/damaged phone as you are likely to get one in excellent conditions too and yea, I agree Ebay is the safest bet. There's nothing guaranteed there but I've seen lots of people buy refurbished phones and other gadgets there at really really low prices, and it just works out well that its served them for a long time which is the utmost thing when buying anything. Some of them might acquire their phones through the 'Black Market', but I won't say all of them do cuz I know a few and they don't mug folks for phones, or buy stolen phones and stuff. If you want a fairly used phone, locked or unlocked, you'd get them from these Paki stores, and you can as well get them from Ebay. No one actually knows what the source of all the phones highly rated Ebay sellers sell is but we still buy it anyway, including their own unlocked phones too. So all in all, what I believe is most important is if you wanna purchase something from these so called Paki shops, keep your eyes really open and ensure that what you're buying is as genuine as you can make out. |
fg17: Please I would want some advice on this: Which is better, buying gadgets like laptop and android/iphones here in naija or buying them in Uk.If you're not dead beat on buying 100% Brand new gadgets there are loads of places where you can get such for incredibly cheap prices. Like someone said earlier, Phones4u, Ebay etc are nice for getting bargains too, however if its phones, Laptops that you need, Argos is not the best place for you at all. They are a sorta jack of all trades and master of none. If you wanna get the best phones at their cheapest prices, check the nearest 'Paki' store close to you. A Paki store is what I know to be the retail stores owned and operated by Immigrant Asians, or British Asians especially Pakistanis and Indians and there are lots of them. I don't know how those guys do it but if you want the latest gadgets locked and unlocked, they'd have it. And unlike most stores where the prices are fixed, their's are negotiable. They don't offer phones on contract either so its 'cash and carry',but be very smart cuz you can easily be sold a faulty phone as much you can be sold a phone in perfect conditions. If you want a large variety of laptops and other gadgets to pick from at very reasonable prices, I can recommend Debenhams. Lastly on price compatibility with 9ja prices, its almost the same except for gadgets that are not second-hand, the prices for new gadgets might differ significantly, and by that I mean higher in 9ja. » My Opinion. |
Well, its their money. No one can tell them how to spend it. One can only advise the use of moderation, but then Nigerians are not popular for doing any stuff moderately. As far as they don't constitute blockage of roads (which I heard is a thing of the past in Lagos at least) and other inconvieniences to the general public, I guess its all good. |
Another Good girl gone bad, innit? |
You know its become something else when the death tolls of bomb blast victims elicits almost no emotional and physical reaction from you apart from the customary 'May they RIP and may God console their families and friends' quote, cuz its becoming little more than a news report of facts and numbers. Nonetheless, may God console the bereaved of their loss. |
Its possibly an exaggeration of figures by the Sahara reporters, but even if its true, is any sane person expecting him to confirm it? ![]() |
All in all though, I'm just trying to compare and contrast the amount required to fund the trip of 600 government officials to the UN General Assembly (If its true) and the amount being asked by ASUU from the FG in order to call off their strike and let Nigerian students go back to school. I must say, the Nigerian Government has gotta be a constant source of depression for the masses its supposed to govern. :/ |
Seriously, Arsene Wenger spending £42.5m on just ONE player, Liverpool FC topping the EPL league table, BBM going Android, Valdez saving 2 penalties, A Manchester Derby without Sir Alex Ferguson, and Mikel scoring a volley for Chelsea in the EPL, This is definitely a strange month. And I'm beginning to consider jumping on the 'End Time Tinz' bangwagon lolz. |
Hmm...very soon, I bet we'll start seeing people giving birth to babies that have already reached puberty from their mothers' wombs. ![]() |
These are really the kind of stories those End Time crusaders should be feasting on. But you'd have to still pause and wonder sometimes at the extent of evil demented minds and brains are capable of producing on a regular basis. ![]() |
But I thought the Airport is already functioning as an International one. Everything has to be politicized in Nigeria innit? *Sighs* |
Cool story. ![]() |
I won't. You can't take what is not in your reach. |
The Nigerian Police is always just arriving. ![]() |
The phrase to be featured in the news article that struck me most....The Nigeria Police is just arriving the scene. That's not news. Its always been the same scenario since forever. Won't be surprised if its the innocent by-standers that end up sleeping in detention cells tonight. |
