TravelRe: Luggage Charge Leaves Passengers Stranded At Lagos Airport by Konjour(m): 4:24pm On Aug 07, 2013
With regards to the charge, i see nothing wrong with it. If you put cargo on a passenger plane and try to avoid cargo charges, aint nothing wrong with the authorities trying to get that charge back from you.
Let's stop acting like we don't know what is going on. I was on an Emirate flight from Dubai to Lagos a couple years back and the number of GHANA MUST GO bags that came out before regular bags was like 1 trillion. It took at least 2hrs before we started seeing regular bags. I also blame the airlines (emirates) in this case because they allow people overload the plane and charge fees. I'm sure they make more money in those fees than the actual flight tickets.
Without any intent to sound rude, I'd say your post is pointless. A Cargo or Passenger aircraft has limits to its cargo carrying capacity, there are safety limits and extra cargo weight margins in which luggages for which extra cash has been paid are fixed. Its a different thing if bags are turned back at departure airports for being overweight in which case you're asked to remove stuff in it, or rather procure another bag as the case may be, or pay a stipulated figure (per each Kg by which the bag is overweight) but once your bags are aboard, there's absolutely no justification for airport workers to demand you pay extra for your luggages which must have passed through the ticketing and clearing sections already. The Lagos airport has always been known for being very unruly and a lot of its workers, for being lackadaisical. The extra 2,000 naira per luggage is a bloody rip-off. Nuff said.
Funny enough so many people here replayed the video just to get proper glimpse tongue I see a lot of Hypocrites here as if when you are in the room with your boyfriend/girlfriendyou don't do worse.Watch the video and if you don't like it move on.For my accessment of the video its just ok nothing much
Why the knee-jerk reaction to always label folks who voice out against stuff, especially things that pertain to personal preferences on forums as Hypocrites? Its become a common occurence on almost every thread I see. You check any thread, there's always someone who wants to stand out in the crowd by claiming its the others who are not smart enough and thus, they are hypocrites. Its a despicable thing. I've seen the video and its tacky, empty, and just downright monotonous just like most music videos anyway, if some folks say they don't fancy it, its not your god-given obligation to quickly call them hypocrites. There's a reason why the video publisher thought it might not be suitable for kids' viewing. Even if they do worse in their rooms, its their privacy, not a music video to be consumed in public. Its a forum FFS. Drop your 2 cents and move on.
CelebritiesRe: Stop Insulting Celebrities And Their Marriages - Toyin Aimakhu Laments by Konjour(m): 11:26pm On Jul 26, 2013
I don't abuse celebs who've got failed marriages but to an extent,I won't blame those who do. 'Celebs' are Celebrated figures, who often have "Celebrated" weddings or what not. Its only natural that if these celebrated unions don't fulfil their purpose, the inquest traffic upon the reason of failure would be gargantous, hence the huge backlash too. Moral: The higher you fly with your engines intact, the harder and more violent the crash when the same engines get you stranded mid-air.
FamilyRe: Rise Of The Feminist Wedding by Konjour(m): 11:05pm On Jul 26, 2013
Got a lengthy one here. What I've learnt so far on subjects like these is that some dogs are best left sleeping, because I (note the I) think the whole Gender Equality conundrum as we know it is just akin to a complex smokescreen. The genders were designed to complement one another, not neccesarily compete with one another for status symbols, although unfortunately we do find out that in a lot of places and situations, women get underestimated just cuz of their gender which I'm not in favor of. If Gender equality is solely aimed towards achieving a level playing field between the genders in terms of politics, sports, health, finance, career, and most importantly, ability, and perhaps some other fields then that would be a fruitful cause and its already yielding positive fruits everywhere, but when you start bringing the contexts of family, inter-personal relations, religious innuendos and such other emotive causes into the equation, you'll be fighting in a battle with a static front, simply cuz as I said nature has wired up the genders in complementing ways, not competitive ways. The complementing ways which make the female less inclined to ask a male out on a date, the odds which almost make the sight of a woman kneeling down to propose to a man of her dreams a near-impossibility, the odds which make it near-impossible for a man to take the name of his wife post-marriage, the complementing ways which demand a man and a woman copulating to bear kids, if nature supported a completely masculinized world, I would be able to jerk off into a test tube and in 9 months, reap a baby, or a few eggs if it was the other way round. Feminist movements will be successful (with hard work though) if set toward a realistic path of purpose, but some over-enthusiastic members of the brigade do tend to make themselves look stupid sometimes too. All in all, what matters most is not your gender, but achieving the best you can with the means you've got. If you do that, everyone will pay you your dues, including Male Chauvinists and Feminists.

Afro connect: this is no news, millions of Nigerian girls do these everyday...what is news in this?
she is just a Normal Nigerian girl.
Going by your theorem, would you marry a normal Nigerian girl? The truth is these things do happen on a regular basis everywhere, but there's also a good reason why folks say 'Washing your dirty linen in public is unreasonable'. All humans have the same anatomy, why do we all still wear clothes (or at least to a degree)? Moral: You can be the devil in your home or your private space, but if you live in a civilized society, you should project a respectable personality in public, lest you become a nuisance unto yourself and unto others. That's common sense. Sayonara.

Additionally, bring along handlullages that can easily fit into the overhead carraige and can be carried about for long periods by you (especially for destinations that require transit flights) without giving you a hunch-back. cheesy If you've got a bigger bag stowed in the plane's hold, take a few of the most important items you've got in it with you...Stuff you can't risk losing. A Padlock too can be useful, especially if your handluggage is not equipped with a code-lock facility. You don't wanna be caught unawares.

FoodRe: Dangers Of Consuming Genetically Modified Foods by Konjour(m): 2:53pm On Jun 20, 2013
I don't think the overwhelming majority of Nigerians consume genetically modified foods cuz the basic foods found in the food shops on Nigerian streets are usually sourced directly from the local farms where the farmers might not even have heard of the possibility of genetically adjusting the genes of their farm produce, talk less of seeing it in practise and using it. It should be a concern for the inhabitants of first world countries and to a lesser degree, those of the second world countries. However, its also a good eye-opener to those who don't have access to such foods yet. Preventing ailments has gotta be better than curing them.
PoliticsRe: British-born Michael Adeboloja Labelled A Nigerian: Why? by Konjour(m): 8:01pm On May 23, 2013
The said attacker is a British-Nigerian,or I'm to quote the census forms I filled in glasgow a couple of years ago,A Black brit. He's a Briton with Nigerian roots. I would have said it was ok if his roots would be summarily exhumed by the press especially as its someone whose only symbol of African-ness is his colour and name, but already the English, not British press in this instance has a way of hitch-hiking blame with roots, rather than blame with personality. Already (as expected though) news articles, columns have been re-written sensitizing the English public on Boko Haram, not because of Boko Haram's acts, but because they suspect Boko Haram has influenced an English terrorist who claims to be agitated about the presence of English soldiers in Afghanistan. These articles don't even link the said guy with veiled islamic terrorist groups operating within the UK itself. It reeks of press blood-hounding. This doesn't even apply to Nigerians alone, but seemingly anyone who's not of traditional, pure English origins. Like someone said,Andy murray gets the Brit tag pronounced after a win,but after a twisting by Djokovic or so,the Brit light gets dimmed, and the 'Scot player/Glaswegian' goes into overdrive mode. To put this English press bia stuff into perspective,Victor Moses was being championed as a pure English lad in some papers prior to him picking Nigeria, and lots of loophole-sniffing was carried out on Bale to see if he would agree to play for England (at age 22) simply cuz his Great-grandma was half-English. I'm not against the English press and England wanting what is best for themselves, but you've got to accept the good, bad, and ugly colts that are produced from within your stables and not always speculate that the bulk of your internal problems are from external sources.
RomanceRe: Ladies: Why Leave Your Cleavage Open? by Konjour(m): 6:52pm On May 06, 2013
Can't speak for all the ladies who do it,but I think some see it as a fashionable thing to do,Some think it makes 'em look sexier,Some do it cuz they crave the attention and the attention subconsciously makes them feel more beautiful and confident,Some say it is cultivated in the craze of Modernisation, and some do it with outright stupidity (Someone even claimed earlier that its been around for thousands of years - Which is a lie that doesn't need debating),I think it could be acceptable if its kept at the bearest minimum and that every action provokes a reaction, the intensity of which depends on the environment as the case may be,the reaction to the exposure is staring by men and that is just natural cuz its a sensitive region of a woman's anatomy. The reaction towards some could degenerate towards sexual molestation and assault which is unacceptable, but then everyone is responsible for their own acts. After all said and done,Dress with moderation. Its the best path to toe.

PoliticsRe: What Did You Learn From The Presidential Media Chat? by Konjour(m): 8:52am On Nov 19, 2012
If the peoples of a nation are as averse as this to their President, then who voted him in for a bloody second term in the Presidency. We all saw the uncertainty, suspense, transparency that characterised the recent US elections. No one could contest the results. But how does an unwanted President get to win so overwhelming? I refuse to believe that it was just as a result of rigging votes. I'm pretty sure some folks criticizing him on this forum did vote for him. So why vote for him if you don't want him when there are alternatives? Moving on anyway,I'd like to witness a debate between Obama and Goodluck (just for laughs) in the Obama vs Romney mould. Who knows,Patience Dame could also square up against Michelle. grin

What exactly are you folks ranting on about? I'm sure some of you f/u/c/k/tards would go to churches tomorrow and worship your pastors as usual, some of who could be bigger hypocrites than anything we could have ever imagined. double j1: are you human at all? So you are justifying the killings done by american in afganistan? Have you ever thought of how it the country was before and how it is now? Have you ever thought of the damage that has been done to their land? Or is it because the americans are hiding the terrible things the have caused from the media? Is it not thesame america that their citizen can never be killed in another country even if he was caught killing another person?
No matter how thirsty you are you should neer drink from a womans pot who wish you evil.
Spare us the meaningless sermon and go ask these boko haram militants the same question. Which kind of damage can the US government inflict on Nigeria that the Nigerian executives, legislature and judiciary haven't done and even surpassed already, talk less of the shit that threatens to hit the Nigerian fan everytime Boko haram makes a successful hit? We're talking about a terrorist group whom we might not be able to fight effectively for donkeys years given the current disposition assumed by the President of Nigeria. Its you,i should rather ask if you're human cuz you sound like a person who'd gladly hand over a member of his family to be bombed by Bok haram in exchange for the Nigerian government's exclusive ownership of the oil products it produces.i.e if that's not already the status quo. SMH
PoliticsRe: U.S. To Slap "Terrorist" Label On Boko Haram Militants by Konjour(m): 11:12am On Jun 21, 2012
People and their warped sense of thinking. No wonder such a terrorist group holds much sway. Can anyone on here choose one in the Oil vs Peace conundrum? In my opinion, the average Nigerian lives much worse off than a citizen of most non-oil producing countries FFS. If an intervention from the US Government reinstates peace and neutralizes a terrorist group that kills Nigerians every sunday,am i gonna be effing bothered about the Oil? Hell no! You can only enjoy the benefits of the Oil if you're alive and at peace anyway, but even while the citizenry were still at peace, the benefits of the Oil have never been forthcoming, innit? God damn the Oil! Who gives a f/u/c/k? Prolly twats who can't fathom what threat Afghanistan would have posed to World Peace today if the Taliban were still being given a free hand to operate. SMH
RomanceRe: Marrying A Woman Who Can't Cook by Konjour(m): 9:39am On Jun 03, 2012
Why should i marry a woman that can't cook? If the question was 'Can you marry a woman who's not an expert chef' that's a different kettle of fish, but one that 'cannot cook'? If she can't cook, who's gonna do it then. I grew up in a home where each parent's duties were clearly outlined and not confused, some **tard was saying he'd rather go back to his mum if he wanted to eat,if his father had also made the mistake of marrying a woman who's useless in the kitchen, where would he have gone to. A restaurant? An eatery? Whoever said that shite must be a first grade cretin. #Bullshit #Tripe
Even an average european man wouldn't easily consider having a wife who wouldnt be able to cook for her children, talk less of a full blooded African man. Would you also consider marrying an African woman that can't bear children? Well, some dimwits might also say the husband should help her out by carrying her pregnancy for 4 and a half months since he was responsible anyway. Dumbos.

PoliticsRe: Suspected Boko Haram Leader Arrested At Karkasara Quarters In Kano by Konjour(m): 1:59am On May 30, 2012
Can't seem to understand just how warped some folks' minds are judging by some of the posts on here. So Zap.i.n' what if the suspect is gonna be released the second he was caught(which is unlikely anyways judging by history bar one or two occasions),seems some twats on here would rather resign their fate to getting bombed to their smoky graves rather than believe that there are some people who are at the very least putting their lives on the line to prevent the Boko Haram deathtoll from increasing and that these people are still working even when these bombings seem to have sufficed a bit. With this kind of attitude, its easy to see why some people think Nigerians deserve the kind of leaders they are getting. Moreover, the followers are often a reflection of their leaders. That said,i hope these arrests keep increasing. Its obvious the arrests are working judging by the frequent requests or 'pleas' the sect have made for the 'release of their members' or brothers as the cowards tend to call themselves. If this keeps up,the signs point to bringing the sect down to its knees, thus limiting its coverage of influence and attacks. Whatever has a beginning surely has an end. Thumbs up to the JTF and their sources. Grateful and Ingrateful Nigerians owe them.
CelebritiesRe: D’banj Changes Name To Daniel Anderson In London by Konjour(m): 8:16pm On May 02, 2012
I never really liked D'banj's personality but you can't fault his music cuz if its lyrics you lot are looking for,you had better gone into a studio and start writing for yourself cuz i can't really any point out any A-list musician in Nigeria who doesn't incorporate the same things D'banj puts in to his songs,so you lyric-watchers,cut the dude some slack. What sells platinum records all over the world today is wack lyrics and creative beats and the records were not purchased by citizens of hades anyways. However, going by the increase of folks(mostly lame-ass web surfers online who can't do anything if they met him in real life other than smile or instead frown to death) hoping for the dude's downfalland demise cuz he made a life-changing decision for which he's responsible have only made me admire some of his traits as a person, such as sticking true to your guts, and trying to achieve a personal dream or achievement that's been playing out in your head and no one seems to know how to figure it out,and most importantly, not really giving a four legged flying Bleep about what your haters think behind your back!

When church scenes are often filled with people praying like mad men and women.
PoliticsRe: Five Boko Haram Members Killed By ‘own Bombs’ by Konjour(m): 2:32pm On Apr 24, 2012
Why would sane people place the blame of a church getting bombed on christmas day on God? Was he the person that drove the vehicle of the bombers or the one that actually threw the bomb? Funny enough, its those who do not believe in him that are trying to second guess what he should have done or didn't do. Going by this stupid logic,God should have stopped World war 1 and 2,innit,or perhaps come into their homes and settle any quarrels, misunderstandings within their own family circles? He should have prevented any plane crashes even if the plane was faulty? He should prevent theft even if there are people that are determined to steal from others? Some looney people on here should really be breathing via electronic recharge cards. :/
TravelRe: Stealing At Murtala Mohammed Airport by Konjour(m): 11:37pm On Apr 19, 2012
I've never lost anything in or enroute a Nigerian airport, though i can remember that my seat partner's indomie noodles got missing on new year day. undecided By the way,i suspect that things may go missing in bags that are not locked properly due to the way in which those bags are handled by the airport staff. I always find out a broken handle, dislodged wheels or both that has been afflicted on my bag anytime i pass through that MMA,courtesy of the rough handling. What's more irritating, though is that some of those airport staff would start asking you for tip offs everytime like its their birthright, regardless of the fact that you might be rich/poor,a student/worker. With staff like that, that airport can never be safe cuz anybody can easily bribe their way through to wreck havoc on fellow travellers.

Fact is: even if the prophet had declared the said president's name, his address and the description of his family tree, those who would believe will, and those who won't believe it won't. So,there's no point to prove to anyone by mentioning the person's exact name beforehand, moreso that alone could generate uber-fear in the affected country and diplomatic handbags. However, the fact that he excluded west african states is a telling point. Let's see where it ends up eventually.

Just a thought, even if its a bit offkey. If it was an armed robber with a M-16 that gave a woman who is too egoistic to kneel for a man,an escape route from ONLY robbery and rape by ordering her to kneel down and beg him for hours, will she do it or not? LMAO! Funny enough, internet forum band drivers are often in sharp contrast with their forum disposition in real life. Someone said there are so many fishes in the sea,so what happens if your next catch is about to be lost at the expense of a momentarily kneel in regret, you cast the nets again, innit? LWKMD. Anyways,i couldn't be bothered to give a triple legged flying f/u/c/k about championing the cause of kneeling or not as it doesnt change what goes on in the real world. If you can calm your guy down by kneeling briefly to appease him, good for you,and if you can give him a WWF-esque throw out of your house as a parting gift, more grease to your joints. My girl sure knows which option is best, and when it matters, for her,my knees aren't made of polished gold either.

However,if you can afford it,you'd find my advise useful in the long term. Cheers.
