Whilst reading that opening post, what stood out for me was neither the reasons behind women using hair extensions nor the baseless reasons why they shouldn't, but the fact that thousands of years ago when civilization was still in its most basic forms, we had Africans whose brains were too developed for their time and thus completed feats that even modern science and technology still takes years, and even decades to explain infact, there are still a huge cache of things that the ancient egyptians achieved and did that Egyptologists are no closer to unraveling than they were a century ago. One cannot help it but wonder how advanced the peoples of the 21st century Egypt and Africa as a whole would have been if the rate of development they had 4,000 years had continued unabated. Myopia, religious fanaticism, hatred, greed, corruption are not friends of the building blocks of any society. Was in Alexandria (Borg-El Arab) last year, decided to go for a walk but didn't take note of the fact that a tiny part of the shirt I wore had the word 'Israel' written on it, a few minutes into the walk and I'd had more than a few Egyptians walk up to me and advise me to go back and change the shirt before getting to the mall I was headed towards. Its needless to say I had to go back and 'do the needful'. |
Clone2020: If they like let them build Old Trafford football stadium inside the ship, I no go enter. I cannot swim and I like my lifeCruise ships are actually safer to travel in than Aircrafts, and most of them are quite afforable to sail on. |
Everything that has being said on this thread could have been replies on the other thread. Creating a thread just to counter what someone said in another thread is akin to breaking an egg with an axe. At the end of the day, if you want to stay single till your breath your last, go ahead. If you want to get married, choose wisely and do the damn thing. Some choices in life cannot be enforced on you. |
Sweetlemon: The most terrible part of this is that they now blame the girl for Mikel's recent career issues. The same way a typical Nigerian family will blame a man's wife when he's having issues. Nigerians ehn! We have our strengths but at the same time most of us are ................Mikel's career and development as a player had started stalling ever since he joined Chelsea under the stewardship of Jose Mourinho. We all know he has never come close to fulfilling his potential. There was a time Mikel and Messi were being touted as the next big things in football, I still argue with friends that he was cheated out of being the best player in that tournament. Mikel could dribble, make 60 yard passes, shoot accurately, he once had astounding vision, made most of his passes go forward. On the trajectory he set out with, we were all hoping he was the next J.J Okocha, and that he'd probably be mentioned someday in the same breath as the Zidanes, and the Iniestas of this world. He had everything in his locker until he had to adapt and change his game as it was simply impossible for him to displace Makelele, Lampard, Ballack, Deco etc who were all World class midfielders in their prime. We thought he would stay at Manchester United and be the Pogba of the last decade. If anybody was to blame for him not reaching his potential, the crazy girl should finger Jose Mourinho, John Shittu and ultimately Mikel himself, but not some innocent girl who fell in love and is obviously happy with him. That girl is an eyesore and a disgrace to all Nigerian girls who have still got any sense of decency and self-worth left. |
Social networks have made teleporting into the brains of people in order to gauge how developed they are a cakewalk. Based on that train of thought, that girl is definitely demented but she's also a simple reflection of a lot of loonies like herself. What exactly should be any sane human being's problem with an inter-racial marriage? It doesn't exactly surprise me being that a lot of Nigerians are so racist that they can't even marry a fellow Nigerian because he or she doesn't come from the village they come from, but going ahead to spill your bile on someone's happiness is 200% bonkers and it says a lot about her own self esteem that's if she's got a modicum of it left. If Mikel wants to marry an alien who lives on the rings of Saturn he should go ahead, who gives a monkey's? Human stupidity really has no measurement scale cuz its beyond comprehension. |
The Nigerian government is probably cursed with a spell of holding back the pay packets of its workers. Parting with a few millions, billions if necessary to keep those people willing to put their lives at risk for others sweet is not even something to be debated, because the virus is no respecter of persons and will cling onto anybody who happens to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. You can only enjoy the money anyway if you're alive but when there's nothing else with which they can attract 'volunteers' to help stifle the spread, the money which is probably the main reason for which the people working there agreed to do so should be the last thing to cause the downing of tools! |
honeyad: Judge Not... All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God... Moreover some of them confessed openly which means they seek forgiveness before God and man openly... Not trying to cover their sins..I bet you use that quote a lot anytime you need a get-out-of-jail for free card or when you don't want to accept criticism. Go preach that to the lawyers and judges who pass judgements everyday and even send people to jail for it. If you mess around, people will get on your back whether they're saints or not, that's why you need to use common sense and look before you leap. Have you ever heard of the phrase: 'The higher you go, the harder you fall?' Confessing their sins whilst being commendable will still keep tongues wagging and there's absolutely nothing you or the perpetrators can do about it. I'm not in support of over-the-top criticism but if you're not bold enough to take the beating, don't commit the offence. That 'don't judge' excuse has been overused by every man and his dog already in Nigeria, and a lot of the so called pastors have been milking you lot dry cuz they know their congregations have no moral compass of their own and won't criticize them everytime they do something inexcusable because they've become gods unto those who listen to them. The toga of being a 'Man Of God' commands reverence and respect only when the person wearing it is a respectable human. |
Knowing Nigerians, I'm 98% sure that all the people who dumped their trash bags around that spot can fully understand what was written on that signpost, but still went ahead to dump the refuse there as a way of daring whoever put the post there to do his or her worst. The rebellious nature of an average Nigerian is usually on auto-start mode. Its almost like we have been programmed by nature to always yearn for that which we've been told not to yearn for. |
I'm a Manchester United fan too but that is one crazy fan right there. I don't know much about the Kenyan culture but as much as I can figure out from the news, they do take their football TOO seriously, infact as much as Egyptians. I recently read a piece about a Kenyan bloke who had placed a wager on Arsenal winning last season and as crazy as it sounds, the nutter used his wife, house, and car as pawns in the gambit. Unfortunately, Arsenal lost the match and in a bid to use his case as a lesson to others, the villagers pounced on him and forced him to give up all he's basically worked for all his life, I wouldn't know how they'd explain things to his wife anyway. Imagine a man telling his wife: I'm sorry but you're now the wife of Mr. X cuz I placed a bet on you with him and lost'. I still can't believe that would be possible though but that's what was written in the papers. Football is a game and its meant to entertain you, it wasn't conceived as a plot to rob you of your sanity and common sense. There are a lot of things in life that are infinitely more important than football. |
Fantastic pieces of artwork those. No one is expecting the future to look anything close to those, but as far as the imagination and the creativity of the artist is concerned, those are nice representations of the hyperbole with which the artist intends to communicate. Good job. |
As crazy as it sounds, people have often been in a line for well over a week at the flagship Apple store on regent street on previous occasions when new Apple products are being released. They do sleep, eat, and practically live on those queues for weeks and the queues have been getting longer over time generally. However, the people who manage to stay on the queue successfully until the launch date don't always do it because of their love for Apple products so to speak. If you're on the queue on the launch day, you can actually sell your spot for significant sums of money, and the unwritten rule is: The closer you're to the front of the queue, the higher the price you get. I can't remember exactly but I think one of those guys who sold his frontline spot when iPhone 4S was being launched (on Regent street at least) got about 3,000 GBP for his spot which translates to about 800, 000 naira. It is really sinister for anyone to even subject himself or herself to such meaningless quests, but in London for example where there are almost more jobless people than in any other place in England itself, that kind of money could be a last ditch lifeline. |
Remember those times when I had to carry a bulky walkman around with huge headsets just to listen to the radio stations, and I clearly remember that I always had a fork or matchstick close by so that they would be useful when my tapes get entangled with some of the rollers in the player. I remember how I used to wait for what often seemed like eons before the music on the cassette tapes would start playing, and how I usually got pissed anytime Side A stopped playing thus requiring me to stop whatever I was doing and rotate it to change to Side B. ![]() |
If it makes them sleep peacefully at night, criminals would manufacture any sort of excuse for their crimes, be it poverty, frustration, the devil, joblessness etc but this really takes the biscuit. Guess they'd also go to a church on Sunday, and give fake testimonies about the ways in which God has been blessing them. Hope they get the appropriate jail sentences for being 'sinful criminals'. |
It should take more than the girl asking about where the relationship is leading to for the boyfriend to suggest breaking up a relationship of 4 years. There are ways to pull the plug on the tension in the relationship without abandoning the ship totally if he was really determined to keep her. Any woman in her shoes would do the same but no sensible woman would be caught ball- watching in a relationship for 4 years without seeing any significant moves from the guy towards getting married to her. No sensible woman would also have sex for years with a guy she's not married to whilst 'hoping' he'd do the right thing. So as much as the guy is looking for a way out after getting what he probably wanted in the first place, the girl was also as stupid as they come. You'd think the movies, books, and tales they watch, read and hear everyday would make some folks especially women smarter being the ones with the most to lose. |
Different folks. Different strokes. If you can do it, do it. If you can't, move on without criticizing those who do as long as its not illegal to go on your knees and ask a woman to marry you. Whatever floats your boat. HOWEVER, You've got to be 98% sure she'll scream 'Yes'. I've seen quite a few examples where the dude got a reverberating 'NO' and I've seen another that ended with the fingerprints of the girl firmly stamped into the guy's cheeks in full view of the viewing public at a London Underground station. Dude was left on the ground being laughed at by everyone and I believe it'd have taken a few months if not years for him to really come to terms with the humiliation. |
chezholy: But he shouldn't have slapped her, what if the girl got up and slapped him back. The disgrace would have been monumental. The rich 'Man of God' who got assaulted and bitch slapped by a 12 year old witch ![]() |
What gave the man the audacity to even contemplate raising a hand against the kid in the first place? The arrogance that he can do it and that he will get away with it? The view that the girl is a nobody and can be trampled under his foot without any consequences? Slapping your kid in the UK can send you to a police cell, can permanently taint your records negatively and can cost you a lot in the future eventually. I bet he wouldn't have done that if it was the President's kid and he probably regrets doing that by now but then its something that he'll have to live it for life. The toga of the pastor that assaults kids. |
Boko Haram might be an Islamic terrorist cell, but we have 'Boko Haramic' Christians in Christendom too and they abound everywhere. Those who are often religiously zealous to the point of mind numbing disbelief and would prefer us all to live in a medieval society. If you feel excited in Church and dance to honour your God, i'm baffled as to how people can put their blinkers on and claim it is of the world. Is there anything around you that is not of the 'World'? If you listen and dance to secular music outside the church premises, would it still be a sin. Whoever said should please crawl back under the rock from which he or she emerged from. |
priscaoge: U sure do not have any point so goodnight!Yea. Have a blissful night with all your elusive 'points' ma'am. ![]() |
So people who are being 'Quarantined' are allowed to still move around. What is the essence of the Quarantine then? Whoever she comes in contact with in the said Abia will also elude the government somehow and run to another state innit? |
priscaoge: Y do u find it difficult to understand a simple english? That word "IF" isn't silent or is it? I didn't say "It's medically wrong" mind u. I used that medical statement as an example for those that are saying that it's against biblical believe. Maybe I need to spell it out 4 u. If someone is telling u that its medically wrong,he/she should have points to convince u without saying things that might bring a curse upon him/her,when issues about God n Bible is raised,do not be fast to say things that are not written in d bible or say that God said when He didn't say anything...You obviously have a limited grasp of the language you're typing in. If you know that you're not nailed on and extremely sure of what is being said, you would have probably used the word 'might'. 'I will agree' is different from 'I might agree'. Got it? When I read the sentence, 'IF you tell me its medically wrong, then I WILL agree' I believed you had come across something definitive that can buttress your point and I wanted to hear what you had to say but its obvious you are not sure which is fair enough. On a public forum, people will respond to your quotes accordingly and if you don't want to be quoted, its best you stop posting what you can't explain comprehensively. Kapiche? |
kulkris: Reading the previous posts, made me feel lyk crying......jst wonderin how God wil feel in heaven seeing His creation(whom He made 2 give him glory) utter dis kind of tins.......jst have two points: For those hu feel its nt a sin,let me ask....after masturbating, how do u feel? Can u stil walk up to God in prayas dat moment, dnt u feel depressed or heavy inside of u,does ur conscience(dats if it stil alive) not prick u?.....i bet u stay sumtym witout dis act,and u wil spot d difference....secondly,For those hu r aware of its sinful nature, its easy to stop..dey are 2 processes THE PHYSICAL PROCESS AND D SPIRITUAL ASPECTYour conscience is partly a derivative of your upbringing and your culture. If you've been brought up in a society where its termed an immoral act to remain uncircumcised, you'll feel guilty everytime you see your foreskin. If you grow up in a society where idol worship is the norm, you'll feel normal when you bow down to a piece of wood and your conscience won't prick you a bit. If you grew up in a society where its illegal to engage in any form of public display of affection, you'll experience a culture shock when you settle in a country where its allowed, and you'd feel 'guilty' or morally wayward if your girlfriend or wife kisses you in public. Your conscience is flexible, that's why a man can slaughter his fellow man on TV just to send a message and still be able to sleep at night. That you feel guilty about it has more to do with the kind of teachings you've been brought up with. In Nigeria, some people still feel guilty to tell their husbands or wives 'I love you' cuz their warped sense of judgement, and 'conscience' tells them its immoral. Your conscience can indeed be modified or reconfigured to suit whatever purpose you want it to serve. It can be trained to serve as a leash, and it can be trained towards making you a killing machine. |
priscaoge: Go back n read my post VERY well, understand it PERFECTLY before u quote me. Thanks'If you tell me that its medically wrong...then I will agree'. What that sentence means is that you believe its medically wrong to masturbate. I believe you expressed what you thought cuz the sentence is clear enough to understand. So I understand it perfectly and I'm asking you to please explain to us why you'd agree that 'it is medically wrong to masturbate'. Cheers. |
priscaoge: If u tell me that it's medically wrong then I will agree..,about what d bible said about it? I don't know anything about that lest I bring curse upon myself. I see this topic almost every time here but haven't seen anyone with tangible n solid biblical proof to backup his/her claims. Can you please explain to us, whilst backing up your claims with credible evidence why anyone that masturbates will end up with a deficient medical report? |
The old testament of the Bible described a Jewish practice about how a younger brother should sleep with the wife of his elder brother if he died without having a kid, and even gave the woman the temerity to spit into the younger brother's face and ridicule him in public if he thinks its morally degrading to do such. I wonder what people would say especially fellow Christians if such should happen nowadays. I bet they'd claim its of minimal importance cuz it happened before Jesus came and talk their way out of it. The fact remains that there are things that are natural and are an essential part of God's creation. When Sirach, son of Eleazar said in his book that you should look away when you see a beautiful woman, its partly in a metaphorical sense and not entirely literal. If you keep looking away when you see beautiful women, you'll die a single and frustrated man but look not with an evil intent or sexually overt manner especially if she's married. Its common sense. If you choose not to masturbate, good for you but don't paint it like its a grievous sin capable of sending one into the infamous rings of Dante's inferno cuz there are people who do it and God still answers them when they pray. If you jerk one off in your bathroom to ease your sexual tensions which are inevitable, its much safer than visiting a prostitute or boning a girl you're not married to, becoming a parent unexpectedly or worse still, opting for an abortion. Don't just read your bible like you're reading Braille, read it, digest it properly but whether you can interpret it properly is a different task. Some people on here can't identify sarcasm if their lives depended on it, talk less of the Bible in which the figures of speech has evolved over thousands of years. |
We pay more attention to entertainment, relegate academic excellence to the background and then go cap in hand, with the utmost humility to BEG the US for Zmapp and then whine to the heavens, brandishing brainless conspiracy theories when they claim that our Nano silver or whatever was a pesticide and then they send Zmapp to Liberia and we all go even more mental than I thought possible whilst we have Universities, Teaching hospitals, Specialist hospitals, multinational companies in our country who are supposed to be all about research and finding new ways to solve new problems. ![]() |
You can voyage-charter private jets/yachts/ships to ferry you exclusively from one place to another, you can time-charter private jets/yachts/ships to do your bidding for a specific period of time, and you can ''bare'' charter private jets/yachts/ships in which you get only the borrowed craft and you supply the crew for a length of time. That's what most people do. Within the period for which the lease agreement lasts, its at your beck and call and you're technically the 'owner' but that's not to say you're the one that bought it. If he has the money to charter it, that's cool. But he definitely didn't buy it cuz I don't think he'd be able to afford the fuelling costs, servicing costs, hangar costs alone for a full year. |
It will definitely be disastrous, albeit it might be less damaging in 3rd World countries like ours, but it will be cataclysmic in 1st World countries. Driver-less cars might start appearing on UK roads very soon and their activities will be internet-based, the co-ordination of traffic lights are internet based already, the power grids are internet based, so many people that drive about everyday are 200% dependent on GPS waypoints, even ships at sea utilize GPS and DGPS which are satellite and internet dependent, modern airplanes too use a lot of electronic gyroscopes and advanced radar systems and weather assessment systems which are usually based online. It will be a meltdown unless people have been made aware well ahead. Reminds me of an event whilst I was in college in Glasgow, the power systems failed briefly so the whiteboard stopped working in the lecture room, the boilers stopped working, and the lights went out, unfortunately it happened during a busy day in school. Immediately the school was closed down for the day, alarm bells were rung, and folks were jumping out of the halls via the nearest windows, some grown girls were calling and crying frantically for their parents. Some douche in the adjacent hall to mine even said he thought it was a terrorist that was attacking. ![]() Yours faithfully was just thinking like 'Keep Calm and shout Down Nepa'. I'm Nigerian hehehe, I can survive without electricity for ages. ![]() Awkwardly, the power was restored about 15 minutes later but by then the College head had already chased us all home. It was a good day to end the day afterall the lecture had been super boring anyway. ![]() |
exxell: And they have the nerves to call our own a pesticide....Is that picture real? There's a movie titled as such already?! ![]() |
uzoexcel: @konjour..u waste ur timeI've been blessed with enough knowledge to last me through this lifetime in one day hombre. Fourwinds is a genius. ![]() |
Fourwinds: I quite understand d perspective u are looking at it...u don't want it religion. fine what about dis 1kings 22:13-40. here a king was spoken of how he murdered anoda man. but he got a lying tongue encouraging him to go to war. did he perished alone.? no. dose soldiers who fought for him also perished. ok what about d soldiers life., were dey all bad. dats y I said live well in His grace because death can come at any time. Luke 13: 1-5Using this picture you're painting, that means there must have been someone that was doomed and was set to be destroyed by God on the ship, and the other passengers were just the most unfortunate people in the whole world that day for being caught in the wrong place at the wrong place innit? Hmmm. I think you must be a reincarnate of one of those 3 wise men from the East cuz I can see you're an excellent fusion of rational reasoning and spiritual intellect. You rock man! More water for your camel. I've been infused with truckloads of wisdom from you today and I'm immensely grateful. Cheers! ![]() |
Fourwinds: I'm glade u know dat children and women were first evacuated.....meaning d poor were among. mind u putting d name of God to test is never encourage. if u are not a christian u wouldn't understand what I'm putting across to u. dose who perished doesn't mean dat is d end of deir existence rather if dey are worthy of God's presence its better. rsther being a waste here and waste after-lifeYou really mean all you've written up there or you joking? So if you're a Christian and you die, its better than being alive? Does being a Christian automatically qualify you for Heaven or am I missing something? A tragedy happened a century ago which killed thousands of innocent souls and shook the very foundations of maritime transport but you prefer to dwell on the survivors being saints and the dead better off dead anyway? I've been mentally hardened to ignore a lot of tripe but people keep surprising me with how low they can go. And who said to you that the Women and Children first rule applied all across the three decks of the Titanic at the same time? If more women survived based on that rule, does that mean that God loved them more than he loved those who sunk with the ship? I'm a Christian but I think about things without muddling them up with my religious beliefs at every bend and corner. Why not procure a gun and go and kill your Pastors whilst hiding behind the demented logic that they are wasting away here on Earth and you'd rather send them forth to heaven to rest? The Titanic sank cuz it hit an iceberg which could have been avoided. People died cuz the rate of flooding exceeded the standard rate that was used by the Naval architects who built it while calculating its damage stability specifications and thus there wasn't even enough time to launch all the collapsibles and rafts that could have saved more lives. I could give you a lecture for a month about the Titanic as a case study but please don't you come on a public forum and claim that people who died were sinners and thus were not worthy of being saved from drowning and Hypothermia because all the lifeboats were already filled with saints. Man, you're shocking. ![]() |
