His minions have lined up to insult me. These are the same set of people that believed that Buhari was cloned, they believed that Kanu could enter Aso Rock Villa and behead the president, they believe that Tinubu a senior staff with mobil didn't attend a high school and a university, they believe that Peter who came 3rd in the last election was the winner, they even believe that the Easter bunny is real and anytime it rains and sun shines a cow is giving birth on a hill.
We have these people in their millions and we expect the country to move forward
One mans stupidity can destroy the world, we have them in millions in Nigeria, only God is saving this country
greatiyk4u: Who knows those that own the containers
Just a functional cargo train terminal and even a common dry port in the East and see mass Exodus.
It's well with igbos
Most of those containers are majorly owned or used by importers, exporters, and industrialists who are Yoruba, Lebanese, Indians, a few Edos, some Chinese, etc. They are into manufacturing in all kinds of big industries in the West of Nigeria in places such as Oyo State, Ogun, Osun, including the contiguous Kwara State and Niger State. Ogun State infact has the highest number of manufacturing companies in Nigeria (more than Lagos State) so a lot of containers move into that location right into Ibadan in Oyo State with the long-established Industrial Estates founded in the 1950s by Chief Jeremiah Obafemi Awolowo, GCFR, SAN, when he was the FIRST EVER Premier of the Old Western Region before 1960 (which included the current Edo and Delta States). The Ikeja, Ilupeju, and Isolo Industrial Estates in Lagos were also set up by Chief Awolowo and his economic team back in the 1950s to the 1960s.
Second, the Lagos-Kano-Jibia route is the BIGGEST trade route over there in Nigeria so, a lot of goods move to-and-fro that trade route by road. With a shift to the rail cargo without double-handling charges, more shippers would prefer to move their containers and other cargos along the Lagos-Kano-Jibia ["Lakaji" trade route] by rail cargo hence the presence of some inland dry container terminals in Ibadan, and some of the Northern States.
TimeManager: The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) in collaboration with APM Terminals, Apapa has resumed the Lagos-Ibadan cargo train with 35 containers departing the Lagos Port container terminal for Moniya in Ibadan, Oyo State.
Speaking during the re-launch of the Lagos-Ibadan cargo train on the standard gauge rail yesterday, the Managing Director of the Nigerian Railway Corporation, Dr. Kayode Opeifa revealed that the train haulage will take place every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday with each train trip carrying 35 wagons of 35 by 40ft or 35 wagons of 70 by 20ft Containers or a mixture of both sizes.
Freight services from APMT to Moniya in Ibadan commenced in September 2023, with the likes of Bueno Logistics and Transco Africa Logistics blazing the trail among customers using the single transitional line.
“I am delighted to officially welcome you to the flag-off of container movement from Apapa to Moniya in Ibadan on the standard gauge rail.
“Though, NRC and APM Terminals have a long history of doing business of container traffic to places in the hinterland of Nigeria such as; Kaduna, Kano, but it is mainly on the narrow gauge lines.
“However, container traffic movement by rail on the standard gauge in and out of APM Terminals to Moniya freight yard in Ibadan commenced on September 2023 with the likes of Bueno Logistics and Transco Africa Logistics blazing the trail among other customers using the single “transitional line” in APMT,” Opeifa said.
He said further that “two additional lines are at an advanced stage of completion in APMT which will bring the total lines within the APMT standard gauge corridor to three lines.
“While this milestone event marks the commencement of container traffic expansion on the standard gauge rail Line from APMT Terminal to Moniya Ibadan Freight yard, this will facilitate the import and export of commodities with adequate convenience and hitch-free vehicle movement.
He added that “the container traffic is scheduled for Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays with each train trip carrying 35 wagons of 35 by 40ft or 35 wagons of 70 by 20ft Containers or a mixture of both sizes.
The record made available to us shows that NRC moved 362,327 tonnage of containers, import and export, in and out of APM Terminal both on the Standard and Narrow gauges in the year 2024.
“The Federal Government under the leadership of Mr President is fully committed to the revitalisation and modernisation project of the Nigerian Railway Corporation for an efficient rail systems.
“As part of the Renewed Hope agenda of Mr President, this is one of the surest ways to address the cost of goods, the standard of living and multi-dimensional poverty.”
Also speaking, the Executive Secretary/Ceo of the Nigerian Shippers Council (NSC), Pius Ukeyima Akutah explained that the resumption of rail haulage will lead to the decongestion of the port terminals.
“You will recall that this time last year, the NSC and the NRC signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to look into the possibility of developing a rail transport system to support trade.
“We at the NSC understand that rail transport happens to be the cheapest and safest when it comes to trade.
“I must commend President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for providing necessary support towards the development of infrastructure that supports trade facilitation,” Akutah said.
Speaking on behalf of APM Terminals, the terminal’s Chief Commercial Officer, Caroline Aubert-Adewuyi highlighted the improvements made to the service since its initial introduction in September 2023.
“The new schedule ensures trains depart three times a week—Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays— providing businesses with greater predictability and efficiency.
“Unlike the previous system, where trains departed only when fully loaded, the structured timetable allows customers to plan shipments in advance. Additionally, payments for the service have been streamlined, with customers now paying exclusively to APM Terminals Apapa, which will facilitate transactions with all relevant stakeholders.
“The relaunch comes at a crucial time, as traffic congestion in Apapa continues to drive up road transport costs. By offering a cost-effective and time-saving alternative, the rail service aims to support Nigeria’s trade and export sector, particularly benefiting agricultural producers and perishable goods exporters,” Aubert-Adewuyi said.
One of APM Terminal’s customers who is the Managing Director of TranscoAfrica Logistics, Mr Ayo Olunuga, who spoke on behalf of other customers described the initiative as fantastic and long in coming, adding that it will address infrastructural deficiencies, prolong the road Infrastructure as it would reduce the dead weight of containerised trailers and trucks, and boost import and export trade.
“We have been expecting this for a long time and we would support the APM Terminal and the NRC to make the initiative super successful. We look forward to this project achieving all the aims it was meant to achieve,” Olunuga said
Clearing agents express optimism
Clearing agents have said that more importers will now patronize the Lagos-Ibadan cargo trains following its relaunch by the Lagos Port container terminal operator, APM Terminals in collaboration with the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC).
Speaking exclusively with the Nigerian Tribune, a former acting National President of the Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA), Dr. Kayode Farinto explained that a major reason that many importers shunned the Lagos-Ibadan cargo trains in the past was due to double-handling charges slammed on cargoes destined for rail evacuation.
According to Farinto, “Whoever brought about the idea of the terminal operator also operating the rail evacuation of cargoes must be given a thumbs up because this idea will definitely erase the double-handling charges that was killing rail evacuation from the Lagos port in the past.
“Now, we have the same container terminal operator also operating the rail movement of cargoes out of Lagos port. Definitely, we don’t expect them to slam double-handling charges on hinterland bound cargoes anymore.
“Double-handling charges is one of the major issues that is killing trade in Nigeria. I have expected the Federal Government to set up a committee to look into double-handling charges issues in our port system.
“When you have situations where functions overlap, double-handling charges comes in. Before, we pay the terminal operators for handling our cargoes and also pay the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) for handling same cargoes. It was killing and that was why many shunned the rail evacuation of cargoes.
“Now, it is the same company that handles the cargoes inside the port terminal that is now also handling the rail evacuation, we don’t expect to see double-handling charges anymore.
“Importers will prefer the rail evacuation of cargoes going forward because it is faster, less stressful, and no issues of road congestion. I expect more importers to rush for rail evacuation of cargoes now that double-handling charges is off the bill.
“Importers want to see how the rail evacuation is marketed. They want to see the billings. Once double-handling charges is off the bill, more cargoes will leave by rail. It is a very straightforward arrangement.”
Also speaking, another clearing agent, Henry Alumona expressed delight at the Lagos-Ibadan cargo train relaunch, stating that he expects the terminal operator to convince more importers to leave by rail since rail is now part of the terminal operators’ responsibilities.
AbuTwins: Inasmuch as i agree with you that a lot is wrong with our ladies, a lot is also wrong with our men! The society in general is so upside down!
We now have more of: 1. Feminism. 2. Baby mama-ism/Baby daddy-ism. 3. Misogyny. 4. Immorality plus lack of virtue (A man can have several baby-mamas and still marry one woman. He can divorce her and remarry another). 5. "Get rich quickly or die" mentality. 6. People not even knowing exactly what they want in the opposite sex. 7. Gender Equality ladies.
Grant qualified Nigerians citizenship, FG tells Israel
By Joshua Odeyemi Mon, 10 Feb 2025
The federal government has called on Israel to grant Nigerians who had stayed in the country for five years without criminal records citizenship.
Magnus Eze, a media aide to the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Bianca Ojukwu, said in a statement on Sunday that Ojukwu made the request when she met with the Israeli Ambassador to Nigeria and Permanent Representative to ECOWAS, Michael Freeman, in Abuja.
The statement said the Minister highlighted that Nigeria contributes significantly to religious tourism in Israel, hence her call.
Ojukwu also said: “Israel is reputable in areas of security and counter-terrorism. We look forward to taking it beyond bilateral relations. We would want Nigeria to benefit from Israel’s technology, especially in the area of food security.
“The Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is working diligently to improve the life of the poorest of the poor. The target of the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs is working to ensure that the poverty-stricken have access to food and other humanitarian services.
“So, we hope that we can get to learn more about the drip irrigation technology. You know that rice is a staple food here, so we are open to embracing any technology that will make us have rice in large volumes.
“We are asking for some joint commission where we can use it to drive and assess our bilateral relations.
Earlier, Ambassador Freeman stated that Israel and Nigeria have had a very interesting diplomatic history, putting the Nigeria-Israel volume of trade at $250 million before the Hamas conflict and expressed the enthusiasm that it would improve, going forward.
The Israeli envoy said: “There is an opportunity for a very strong relationship with Nigeria. We’re looking for how we can build strong bilateral relations in agriculture, water management, education and health.
“With drip irrigation technology, we can grow rice anywhere. By next week, I will display that by planting rice on our farm at the embassy. We hope that Nigeria will take advantage of this advanced technology for rice production.
Ambassador Freeman further said that Israel would be happy to have a high-level dialogue with Nigeria.
That's a "diplomatic faux pas" if this statement is true. The line of diplomatic communication has to be highly distinct and effective. That media aide and his female boss have to be strongly briefed about what to put out in the public domain next time.
The part about Israel being a leader in drip irrigation technology is indeed true as told by the Israeli Ambassador to Nigeria in that article. Since the 1980s, I've been fascinated with the effective use of greenhouses as well in the several Kibbutz located all over Israel which serve as a testament to how agribusiness can be done in semi-arid regions of the world. It ain't rocket science to do all that.
FreeStuffsNG: “The Judge also ordered the remand of the defendant in the Ikoyi Correctional Centre and adjourned till April 8, 2025 for commencement of trial.” The funds may still be forfeited to Federal Government in plea bargaining.
The naira is the legal tender within the territory of Nigeria. Always remember this and know that ignorance of the law is not an excuse for breaking the law. When next they tell you that "this is Nigeria, you can commit crime and settle your way" , just flee from such badluck people who will eventually abandon you when you get into trouble with the law!!

NdiLucifer: Lmao. Na the biggest mistake Pablo Escobar & his henchmen will make.
These are highly incendiary innuendoes and defamatory posts on X. They do absolutely NO good for the originators and active spreaders of these insidious posts who aim to spread organized disinformation and instigate ethnic wars.
The Central Database of all crimes committed in the United States does NOT have the Nigerian President Bola Tinubu's name in it, yet you these foolish young lots who are definitely part of the organized secessionist troll farms that the "BBC Global Disinformation Team" exposed in a 2022 investigative documentary keep knocking the heads of others together, spreading fake news (under supposedly anonymous monikers which are actually NOT anonymous) that he is a drug lord, or call him "Pablo Escobar" (the name of a Colombian drug lord).
The United States' FBI was able to arrest that international fraudster and criminal who pretended to be a legit millionaire, Obinwane Okeke (the so-called Invictus Obi) based off of the posts he made on this same Nairaland. When the Intelligence Agencies finally kick in, you will all learn that there's NO absolute freedom to post rubbish anywhere in the world.
Mynd44: Congratulations to Morotoluwa Ojomo, @MoroOjomo , a proud Lagos-born talent, for becoming a Super Bowl Champion with the Philadelphia Eagles!
Your journey from Lagos to the NFL exemplifies resilience, determination, and unmatched talent. You’ve made Lagos and Nigeria proud on the global stage.
As you continue to shine on and off the field, know that Lagos stands proudly with you. Your achievements inspire countless others, proving that Lagosians' potential is limitless.
NewDigitalWorld: From the bustling streets of Lagos to the grand stage of the Super Bowl, Moro Ojomo has written his name in history after leading Philadelphia Eagles to a Super Bowl triumph.
On February 9, 2025, before a roaring crowd, Ojomo and his Philadelphia Eagles soared to victory, defeating the Kansas City Chiefs 40-22 in Super Bowl LIX.
Though a hard-fought win, it secured the Eagles’ fifth NFL title but also served as sweet revenge for their Super Bowl LVII defeat at the hands of the same opponent.
Moro Ojomo’s journey to stardom
Ojomo’s story is one of astounding transition. Born in Lagos, Nigeria, he crossed the Atlantic at the age of seven, as his family relocated to California in 2009. His father served as a pastor, while his mother worked in the information technology sector. During his seventh-grade year, the family moved again, settling in Houston, Texas.
Attending Katy High School, Moro Ojomo was two years younger than most of his classmates, having begun his education at the age of three in his home country. He did not participate in varsity football during his freshman or sophomore years and admitted that, at the time, he had yet to develop a proper workout routine. However, after his sophomore year, he became dedicated to weight training and running, eventually securing a spot on the varsity team as a junior. His efforts paid off, as he earned All-District honors as a defensive lineman by the end of the season.
After starting the fall as a third-stringer, he gained confidence with more time on the field. He worked his way into a starting role and ended the season earning all-district honors. Then, in his senior year, he became one of the most dominant defensive linemen in the state.
“Nothing comes in life without hard work. I know that,” Ojomo said then as quoted by JokersMag.
“That’s why my story is a lot different than a lot of these kids who’ve been good all their years in high school. They’ve been ‘The Guy’ ever since junior high. I know what it’s like to compete for a starting spot. A lot of these kids don’t know that.”
During his five-year tenure with the Longhorns—a journey that spanned the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic—Moro Ojomo amassed 95 tackles, 13.5 tackles for loss, and five sacks.
In January 2023, when he declared for the NFL Draft, he expressed his enthusiasm for the road ahead.
“I am incredibly excited about what the future holds,” he wrote.
However, as draft day unfolded, his initial optimism gave way to anxiety. By the time the seventh round was halfway through, his name had yet to be called.
“I thought it was over.”
Then, with only 11 picks remaining, his phone finally rang.
On the other end was Philadelphia Eagles GM Howie Roseman—someone well acquainted with the trials of overcoming adversity.
“We’re gonna take you here, man,” Roseman told him.
“We can’t believe you’re here in the seventh round. We know you’re gonna show the world what kind of player you are… and we’re excited to get you.”
In the background of the recorded call, his sister’s joyful shrieks echoed the moment’s significance.
Katy High School head coach Gary Joseph later reflected on the resilience that defined Moro’s journey.
“The kids who you’re really proud of are ones who are self-made football players,” Joseph said.
“They work with what they have, and he’s one of those kids. He worked. It wasn’t a fluke.”
As a rookie, Moro Ojomo played just 6% of the Eagles’ defensive snaps. But in 2024, he earned a more prominent role on the field.
And when the stakes were highest, he delivered—recording his first NFL sack in the fourth quarter of a playoff game against the Los Angeles Rams.
His belief in himself had never wavered, not even years earlier.
“People used to laugh at me in sophomore year when I told ’em I was gonna start,” he had said back in 2018. “They’re gonna realize it when I do what I plan to do… They’re gonna be like, ‘Wow, we really missed on this one.’”
Playing in every regular season game and all four playoff contests, he racked up 20 tackles and etched his name into Eagles’ history with his first career sack during the NFC Divisional clash against the Los Angeles Rams.
Remarkable Super Bowl Performance
In the Super Bowl itself, Ojomo was a force to be reckoned with. His two tackles and a crucial tackle for loss contributed to the Eagles’ defensive dominance, a performance that stifled the usually explosive Patrick Mahomes and kept the Chiefs scoreless for a remarkable stretch of nearly three quarters. He played an important role in the Eagles’ defensive strategy, helping to contain one of the most potent offenses in the league.
Ojomo joins the Hall of Fame
Ojomo’s victory is more than just a personal triumph; it’s a testament to the growing influence of Nigerian athletes in the NFL. He joins a distinguished group of players like C.J. Uzomah, Chukwuebuka Godrick, Chris Oladokun, and Charles Omenihu, all of Nigerian heritage, who are making their mark on the gridiron.
Congratulations to Morotoluwa (Moro) Ojomo. He's been a "badass kid" in the NFL field of play with the Philadelphia Eagles... Repping the bloodline from the legendary two-time NBA MVPs, Hakeem "The Dream" Olajuwon of the Houston Rockets, and of recent Giannis Adetokunbo of the Milwaukee Bucks, to the boxing heavyweight Anthony Joshua (AJ), Israel Adesanya (Style Bender), to the Grammy Award winners and nominees of Nigerian descent from 1986 such as Folasade (Sade) Adu, SEAL, Chamillionaire, Nigerian-American rapper Wale, to the political space with Adewale (Wally) Adeyemo who served as the U.S. Deputy Secretary of the Treasury in the President Joe Biden administration, and much more.
iwaeda: Anxiety Grips Ondo Community Over Reports Of Controversial Oil Magnate, Olugbo Of Ugbo, Oba Frederick Akinruntan's Death
Anxiety has gripped the Ugbo Kingdom in the Ilaje Local Government Area of Ondo State due to rumours about the death of the controversial oil magnate and founder of Obat Oil, Oba Frederick Enitiolorunda Akinruntan, Okoro Ajija 1, the Olugbo of Ugbo Kingdom.
Sources informed SaharaReporters that the 75-year-old monarch has been ill for some time, though SaharaReporters could not independently verify his demise at the time of this report.
“We heard that he was flown out of Nigeria last year ending because of his sickness. But maybe because he is king, they are trying to keep his death hush-hush,” one of the sources said.
“But people in his area are saying that he is dead but they decided to keep the news from the public.
“Since last November or December, nobody has heard from him up till now. We heard that they have performed some rituals in his kingdom, but it was on a lowkey. They are only saying he travelled out.”
“I heard that he has been very ill and that he has been afflicted for some time,” another source said.
Obateru Akinruntan is a prominent oil magnate and the founder of Obat Oil, one of Nigeria’s largest privately owned oil companies.
Obateru Akinruntan is a significant figure in the oil industry and the founder of Obat Oil, one of Nigeria's largest privately-owned oil companies.
Born in 1950 into the royal family of Sir Frederick Adetolugbo in Ugbo, a riverine area in Ilaje, Obateru was the fourth of eight children and lost his father in 1964 at the age of 14.
In 2009, he was appointed king in line with the traditions of the Ugbo Kingdom.
In March 2014, Forbes estimated his net worth at $300 million, ranking him as the second richest king in Africa and the wealthiest in Nigeria.
The only African monarch wealthier than him at the time was Mohammed VI of Morocco.
On September 13, 2019, Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, approved the formation of a new council and appointed Oba (Dr.) Fredrick Eniolorunda Obateru Akinruntan, Okoro Ajija I, CON, the Olugbo of Ugbo, as Chairman of the Ondo State Council of Obas for a two-year term.
The Olugbo of Ugbo's death has NOT been officially announced yet by the Ugbo Kingdom Palace. It's premature to take these rumors and conjectures from Omoyele's online publication yet even though Omoyele is from Kiribo in Ese Odo LGA just next to the oil and gas-rich Ilaje LGA (where Ugbo Kingdom is located) which shares direct boundaries with the Atlantic Ocean. If it's finally confirmed, it would mark the end of a cycle for OBAT (the great oil mogul and Forbes-listed richest King in Nigeria and second richest King in Africa).
Dangote, Femi Otedola, Olugbo of Ugbo arrives the Eagle square for the inauguration of Bola Tinubu
DeLaRue: I struggle to see which opposition pairing and permutation can defeat the President.
1. Mr Atiku doesn't appear willing to step aside, yet, most Southerners and middlebelters are not ready to vote another Northerner so soon after Mr Buhari.
2) If Mr Atiku and Mr Obi decides to join forces on the same ticket, which party will they use? PDP is not certain. If they form an entirely new party, and they don't win, Mr Obi will be the biggest loser, as he will then have been in 4 different parties. That's not a good look.
3) If Mr Obi and Atiku contest separately, we'll probably end up with a result similar to the one we had in 2023.
4) There is no proof yet that the far North will vote for any ticket with Mr Obi in it, whether as President or Vice President. Mr Obi got so few votes in that part of the country in 2023 that it is difficult to see how that will change in 2027.
) If you throw Mr Adesina in the mix, and he too contests under a different party, that fractionalisation of the opposition will only favour the incumbent.
Anyway, as someone famously said, a week is a long time in politics. With 2027 still 2 years away, a lot can still change. Who knows.
The only coalition which might remove Tinubu must have the same elements of the one that removed Jonathan.
What I think will remove Tinubu: 1. All opposition must come together and form a new party. ElRufai, Atiku, Obi, Kwankwaso, Amaechi, Fayemi, Fayose, etc.
2. They must start NOW and register the party ASAP. 2 years togetherness will give a good fight.
3. Presenting a northerner will not go well with some southerners, so, a southerner as the president and his vice from the north can fight well.
4. Number 3 above is tricky, and this is where wahala dey because the north will not accept a Southerner who will go for another 8 years. And no one can be trusted to do only one term.
5. So, if they really want to play save, the ONLY man qualified based on 4 above is Ex President Goodluck Jonathan. Obi cannot have the support of the north because of this reason. Never. Jonathan is the man. He cannot win election by himself, but when all hands lifts him up, he will win.
6. If the president is south, ElRufai is the only candidate the north can bank on to take power. He is the right vice presidential candidate.
7. The process must go through a real primary where all contestants must be willing to accept defeat.
8. The main stumbling block is Atiku who will buy the whole delegates, therefore, another Tinubu is needed to spend money vigorously like Tinubu to defeat Atiku. The is the next main hurdle because Atiku is a spoiler. If he can beat Wike in terms of giving out money, then, you should know the kind of money Tinubu spent. And Atiku himself admitted many years before the election that the only politician who has money is Tinubu. That man is damn rich. Na potato for someone to move in bullion van to his residence during election?
The hurdles opposition must jump is too high. One of the highest hurdle is Atiku. That man is a burden to any party he is in. Trust me. That man is the wrongest politician to support. Unfortunately, he is the one with the cash.
I think the incumbent still has the capacity to win 2027 with "grab it and run away" strategy coupled with dishing out dollars. I may be wrong.
Summary:
Jonathan, as the flag bearer of a new party formed with Elrufai as vice president and who will win a real primary election, has a chance of defeating Tinubu if they have enough campaign funds.
pimplucious: I’ve always said this, once a man decides to marry a woman, he does because he loves her. And then, the only thing that woman owes the man is PEACE. Not love, not support but PEACE. No matter his misdeeds, just be his PEACE.
Once that is elusive a man will find LOVE elsewhere and then see if PEACE is there, too.
I hope 2face finds peace in his new found love.
My marriage didn’t last 3 months. Though I love my wife but couldn’t trade my PEACE for love. I bailed eventually.
Indeed, "Inner peace" is what you really meant here. Those are the specific adjectives to use on the deepest level for real men... NO "drama queens."
Nobody envisaged this climate of leadership under The Druggie presidency.
Gej wasn't as bad as this, yet he was kicked out.
Nigerians are suffocating under this Drug czar and certificate forger who graduated from Government college Lagos in 1970 before the school was established in 1974. A guinea pig,he is!
Rebuker: Shocking results emerged when a woman conducted a popularity test on Kemi Badenoch, only to discover that most residents had no idea who she was.
Oluwakemi Olufunto Adegoke Badenoch is a British politician who has served as Leader of the Opposition and Leader of the Conservative Party since November 2024. She previously held Cabinet positions under Liz Truss and Rishi Sunak between 2022 and 2024. Since 2017, she has been the Member of Parliament (MP) for North West Essex, formerly known as Saffron Walden.
The UK Conservative leader recently sparked outrage among Nigerians on social media after proposing stricter immigration policies, including extending the waiting period for British citizenship to 15 years.
In a video posted on Mirror Politics’ TikTok account, a woman approached people on the street, showed them a picture of Kemi Badenoch on her phone, and asked if they recognized her. However, online users were shocked to see that most of those interviewed had no idea who she was. Some even stated they had never seen her face before and couldn’t identify her.
This raised questions about why people within her own constituency seemed unaware of her, despite the significant attention she receives in Nigeria due to her repeated statements that appear to distance her from the country where she was raised. Though Kemi Badenoch was born in Wimbledon, UK, she grew up in Nigeria. “I chose to make the United Kingdom my home,” she has said.
Watch the video and share your thoughts in the comments!
The video cracked me up with a lot of the responses. In any event, I detest Kemi's tactless communication before and after she became the leader of the Conservative Party.
However, I simply deduced that some of those interviewed (especially the younger ones) are insular and do NOT seem to care about getting more information about what's going on around them.
A fraction of the older folks interviewed have an idea of who she is BUT couldn't remember her full names except one who did. As someone who wanted to contest for the position of PM under the Labor Party banner, I expected more random people in her immediate constituency to easily recognize her.
SamuelOamen: Music super star Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, has openly declared love for Hon Natasha Osawaru, saying he wants to marry her.
The singer, in a video on his Instagram handle, clarified the love for Natasha has nothing to do with his divorce from Annie.
“Hon Natasha has been dragged, called all sorts of names and has been labelled as a home breaker. She is a young, brilliant and amazing woman.
“She has nothing to do with what’s happening between me and Annie. But everybody trying to allegedly want to rope her into everything. Yes, I love her. I want to marry her,” he said. Here are things to know about Hon Natasha
1. Hon Natasha Irobosa Osawaru serves as the Deputy Majority Leader of the Edo Assembly.
2. She was born on November 14, 1993.
3. She is the daughter of Desmond Osawaru and Philomina Osawaru and the granddaughter of Chief Gabriel Osawaru Igbinedion, a prominent businessman and philanthropist.
4. Natasha, who represents the Egor constituency in the Assembly, is a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
That's NOT a bad idea... Innocent will be 50 years old in 2025, so, that'll be a good way to get recharged for the next leapfrog. There's a popular maxim that 50 is the "youth" of old age.
I myself don't take nonsense. If he's no longer happy and compatible with his ex after 10 years of marriage, then he absolutely has a right to go all out for a younger blood (Irobosa is now 32 as of 2025) who'll make him more loved in a sustainable union. That's not something to be compromised. Period.
I took some time off to watch the full videos in order to get a hang of what's going on. From the FIRST video video above, this teenage girl who disrespectfully slapped and gave the lecturer a deep gory bite on his skin (while accusing him of touching her boobs) is in her "sophomore year" in the institution and is definitely NOT older than 18 or max 19 years of age.
Second, it was clearly stated in the video that the girl's mother is a senior member of staff of that same University and she shockingly revealed that her daughter has mental health issues. So, if she allegedly has mental health issues, then she shouldn't be in that school premises but taking her medication from any reputable psychiatric hospital (while attending a special education facility).
In any event, I expect that educational institution's management to ensure she stays away from classes so she doesn't cause more harm for others based off of what her mother said about her daughter's mental health status till full investigations are concluded. She definitely has to face some form of "discretionary sanctions" in order to protect everyone. Period.

Aha! I see, "awon area niyen." That's mad cool.
Indeed, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu's father is originally from Ijebu-Mushin but the family house is on Lagos Island, and Dr. Obafemi Hamzat's father who (I he remember was the Commissioner for Transportation under Governor Lateef Jakande's cabinet in the Second Republic) later became known as Oba Mufutau Olatunji Hamzat, the Olu of Afowora Sogade in Ogun State. Last but not least, Alhaji Lateef Jakande's biological parents were both from Omu-Aran in Kwara State, but Jakande was born in Isale-Eko (Lagos Island) and grew up there so he was a complete Lagos Island "boy" and was popular, so, when Chief Jeremiah Obafemi Awolowo, GCFR, SAN, the leader of the Unity Party of Nigeria (UPN) raised his hand as the gubernatorial flag bearer of the UPN in Lagos State and Alhaji Rabiu Bakare Jafojo as the Deputy gubernatorial candidate in 1979, everybody who mattered in politics and a vast number of the Lagos State electorate fell in line to elect both Alhaji Lateef Jakande and Alhaji Rafiu Jafojo as the Governor and Deputy-Governor of Lagos State from 1979 till 1983 when the military unfortunately struck in that December 31st 1983 coup d'etat.
Edygrin: A deluge of more than 20,000 queries crashed the email server of the South African Chamber of Commerce in the United States after President Donald Trump said he would prioritise white South Africans in a refugee programme, the chamber said Monday.
Trump and Pretoria are locked in a diplomatic row over a land expropriation act that Washington says will lead to the takeover of white-owned farms.
Trump, whose tycoon ally Elon Musk was born in South Africa, said on Friday the law signed in January would “enable the government of South Africa to seize ethnic minority Afrikaners’ agricultural property without compensation”.
It allows the government, as a matter of public interest, to decide on expropriations without compensation — but only in exceptional circumstances.
The Afrikaners are descendants of European colonists, mainly of Dutch extraction, and are mainly engaged in farming in South Africa.
English and Afrikaner colonists ruled South Africa until 1994 under a brutal system in which the black majority were deprived of political and economic rights.
“Our email server crashed over the weekend just due to the sheer volume of inquiries we have received,” Neil Diamond, head of the South African Chamber of Commerce in the US (SACCUSA) told AFP in an email.
“Given the scale of interest, SACCUSA estimates that this figure could represent over 50,000 individuals looking to leave South Africa and seek resettlement in the United States,” he said.
Trump order ‘flawed’ Diamond warned that this could lead to a skills shortage in South Africa that would impact agriculture and other sectors of the economy.
“If we look at the EB-5, which is an investor visa, you need roughly about 15 to 20 million South African Rand ($800,000 to $1 million) to be able to immigrate… What is alarming to us is the large volume of people that is interested in taking up this opportunity,” he said.
South Africa’s foreign ministry has said Trump’s order “lacks factual accuracy and fails to recognise South Africa’s profound and painful history of colonialism and apartheid.
“It is ironic that the executive order makes provision for refugee status in the US for a group in South Africa that remains amongst the most economically privileged, while vulnerable people in the US from other parts of the world are being deported and denied asylum despite real hardship,” it added.
But Reuters reported recently that some White South Africans turned down Donald Trump's offer in the video BELOW. It's clear that some of the White SA folks are making coded moves to leave SA tbh. White poverty also exists in South Africa unknown to some people... Even in the United States especially in the Appalachian Mountains region of the United States.

iwaeda: Your likes don't even know anything, I am Igbomina, my daddy is Lagosian, my family house is not far from FASHOLA's house. With all the noise mairuwa supplies water in Lagos. Alternate roads at VGC has been abandoned since 2023. Oshodi underbridge is helpless situation. Someone said there is Master Plan, is it the one by Jakande or Ajagungbale, Temini gbogbonkan, Ojusana?
I just read this reply you made to someone else.
That's interesting. You are Igbomina from Kwara or Osun States? How's it possible for you to be from Igbomina if you say your father is a Lagosian from Eko (Lagos Island?).
You mean you are from Eko (Lagos Island) when you say your father is a "Lagosian?"
Second, Lagosian is a historical term that is strictly used from time to describe indigenes of Lagos Island. If you're an indigene of the Ijebu areas of Lagos State such as Epe, Ikorodu, Ibeju-Lekki LGAs or an indigene of other major towns of the Aworis on Lagos Mainland in Lagos State, that person CANNOT be called a Lagosian, (It's the highly unenlightened younger members of the media and others who WRONGLY refer to everybody living in Lagos State as "Lagosians" due to their not being familiar with Lagos State's history).
iwaeda: Aguta ni mo ti wa. Gbogbo wa ole sun ka kori si bikan. How many MOUs were signed with 4th mainland bridge by Fashola, Ambode and Sanwo-Olu? You hate the truth. I grew up in Lagos with pipe borne water running everywhere. You hate the truth and like play ethnic card. How honest are the present PPP, look at Lekki toll gate that Fashola agreed he has for paid and owned by LASG? Despite everything Ambode did at Ajah, Agege, Oshodi, we were told he didnt follow masterplan. Emi kolota yin, spend the money and let people be free from shackles of few slavemasters.
@iwaeda
OK, I get your points... Please read on till the end.
I wrote with major CLARITY about the construction of the Lekki-Epe International Airport project while also giving examples of other highly successful PPPs in Lagos. I don't support nonsense and dislike it when people try to deflect issues.
Just to be clear, I don't do ethnic cards here. I only referenced the fact that you said the Lekki-Epe International Airport is a "white elephant project" which I totally did NOT agree with because it would massively decongest the MMIA in Ikeja. As an educated, well-traveled man internationally who has worked in multinational companies in my decades of being alive, my worldview supercedes all those primordial sentiments. I like to deal with statistics and FACTS available to me in arriving at major conclusions.
Just to add, global economic downturns have always occurred in world history (and more would still come), so, it would be WISE for everybody to take a hint from what is currently happening in the two largest countries on Earth, China and India for instance where the rate of unemployment is rising higher and those younger ones who have Uni education right up to the Masters and PhD levels are NOT able to get jobs in the corporate world like investment banking or research institutions, so, they have to survive as bartenders or hotel staff, in agriculture and other jobs that do not fit into what they originally studied. My point is this: Economic cycles and recessions (such as the global economy recession of 2008 to 2009, the deadly Covid-19 lockdowns, and the ongoing Russian-Ukraine War, etc, which badly affected the global economy), will always come in seasons, so, people in Nigeria and all over the world have to be ruthlessly prepared ahead of time by engaging in "recession-proof" activities so that you don't start crying and depend on (or blame government). Government should just be a "Plan B." As I type this, there are people who have already gained "financial literacy" (earning daily in USD from diversified assets anywhere they live in the world with mutual funds, bonds, REITs, index funds, etc) and are NOT even fully affected by the state of the economy in Nigeria and around the world. (However, only a deadly global nuclear war can cause a major dislocation in everybody's lives).
Lagos State Govt. Signs N844Bn MoU To Commence 4th Mainland Bridge
Last but not least, I can see from the video above that Akinwunmi Ambode (the former Lagos State Governor) and his team led by Ganiyu Johnson signed an MoU for the 4th Mainland Bridge PPP construction. If he had stayed on, the project would probably have started but again the current Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu said the deadly Covid-19 global lock downs slowed the pace of his big plans during his first-term in office and indeed we can see his government is very active in delivering some mega projects in his second term. The prevailing cost of funding that bridge has to be finalized due to inflation and the rise in the costs of construction (but at least Lagos State must be given credit for other mega projects they've already delivered) while looking forward to seeing all the tiers of government over there in Nigeria work on improving the welfare and productivity of the people, while reducing inflation. The intentional restructuring of Nigeria from the overcentralized system of governance where most states (except Lagos State) cannot survive without going to seek for funds from the central government is an anathema. A lot of things have to be removed from the "exclusive list" within the next 1 year so that people can achieve their maximum potentials.
adamusuleiman3: The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, recently led a delegation from the state to Istanbul, Turkey, for a working visit with executives from Summa International Construction Inc.
In a statement and photos shared on his official X.com handle on Wednesday, Sanwo-Olu stated that the meeting aimed at exploring potential collaboration on the Lekki-Epe Airport project.
The statement read, “I led a team on a working visit to Istanbul, Turkey, where we engaged with executives from Summa Group, a key player in the construction sector. “Our discussions focused on the vision for the Lekki-Epe International Airport, which will significantly improve connectivity in Lagos State and alleviate congestion at Murtala Mohammed International Airport.”
It added that the Chairman of Summa International Construction Inc., Selim Bora, took the governor and his team on a tour of the company projects.
“Mr. Selim Bora, the Chairman of Summa International Construction Inc., provided us with a tour of their projects, showcasing the company’s expertise and commitment to quality. The group has a proven track record in delivering large-scale infrastructure initiatives.
