The NNPC Ltd Production Monitoring Command Centre (PMCC)
This is the newly launched, FIRST of its kind NNPCL Production Monitoring Command Centre just like what Saudi Aramco has.
Nigeria NEVER had one before now since oil exploration and production started officially in Nigeria in the 1950s.

You should have stated this clearly to prevent all these negative comments by insidious posters right from page one of the thread. Many of these trolls who invaded this thread clearly did NOT watch the video due to lack of Internet data OR pure mischief!
One of the senior NNPCL staff in the video, Udobong Ntia (He is the EVP Upstream of NNPCL) stated CLEARLY that this is similar to what the world-class Saudi Aramco has.

This is indeed a giant leap and as technology improves, NNPCL can get these advanced gadgets upgraded further to match the latest trends in the global oil and gas industry. The equipment in the NNPCL Production Monitoring Command Centre are advanced technologies contrary to what some semi-literates have been posting here to derail the thread. STUPIDITY is indeed a real disease. Period.

championeh:
Hi everyone, please you are being misinformed by the media.

This project is still under implementation, So, it's too early to tagged it a failed project.

The pilot phase started in 2014 at Illela in Sokoto state, and the main phase did not commence till 2022 due to some constraint with the financing.

Delivery is on track presently with just a few locations completed so far. Although, even after the completion, it might not be possible to cover the whole thousands of Kilometers but be sure it would reduce the menace of insecurity and infiltration of illegal migrants. The aim is to extend the surveillance systems along the border Hotspots and other unmanned boarder locations. 5,000+Km Borderline is no joke and obviously the surveillance cameras would not be able to go round practically but sure it would help the NIS in border security management efficiency.

Do not believe everything you read in the media and try to do a bit of research on any discourse of interest.

Nigeria shall be great again!
PoliticsRe: FG ₦‎9 Billion E-Border Project Fails To Stop Bandits, Illegal Aliens by Konquest: 10:57pm On Jan 12, 2025
Kuginzi:
Despite the Federal Government’s multi-billion-naira border surveillance systems launched in 2019, illegal migrants, some of whom have been identified as bandits, terrorists and kidnappers, continue to cross into Nigeria from the Republics of Benin, Chad, Niger, Mali and Cameroon.

This is as the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, said e-border surveillance is now being mounted across the nation’s borders with its neighbouring countries.

“As we speak, more than half of our borders have been automated. There are visuals, and a lot of processes going on now. So, effectively, there is e-border surveillance now in our borders.

"By October (2024), we will be done with the first phase of the e-border surveillance project, including our marine borders. Now, we have the command and control for air and land. You cannot secure your borders effectively without technology,” Tunji-Ojo said in a live national television programme in May 2024.

At the launch of the Bola Ahmed Tinubu Technology Innovation Complex in early December 2024, the minister said about 250 trained Immigration Service personnel run 24-hour shifts at the e-border control centre.

However, some foreigners still crossed to Nigeria from the Republic of Benin through the Baruten/Kaiama border posts despite the closure of the border by the FG.

Checks by The PUNCH from residents of border communities in the Baruten Local Government Area of Kwara state revealed that illegal immigrants still crossed the border into the country daily.

The immediate past chairman of Baruten Local Government Council, Abdulrasheed Abdullahi, who spoke with one of our correspondents, said that citizens of the Benin Republic are still migrating into the country through several illegal routes.

Abdullahi said, “Although the border posts have been closed since 2020 during the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari to beef up security, the border closure has not stopped citizens of Benin Republic who are our neighbours from coming into the country.”

"The e-border control system installed to stop the illegal immigrants from coming to the country had not stopped their citizens from entering Nigeria,” Abdullahi, who ended his tenure as the council chairman in September 2024, added.

The Federal Executive Council approved N52bn for the e-border surveillance system in 2019 to monitor and provide real-time information from major border posts nationwide.

However, the project faced delays due to funding challenges and did not commence until 2022. Nigeria’s extensive borders, covering approximately 5,330 kilometres, have numerous illegal entry points and present ongoing security challenges.

The Nigeria Immigration Service says it has since deployed advanced e-border solutions to over 80 crossing points nationwide, marking the project’s first phase. It says the e-border system offers real-time, 24/7 monitoring and intelligence, enabling better tracking and management of border activities.

NOTE: The red chieftaincy cap is historically of Middle Belt origin and was FIRST introduced into the Nsukka area of Enugu State within the last 400 years by the igala people where you have some Igala bloodlines in Northern Enugu State. The wearing of the red chieftaincy cap spread from Nsukka many years later to areas of the current Igbo areas that Igalas NEVER even had direct contact with meaning they copied it.

Just as I stated above, the red chieftaincy cap is NOT originally an Igbo creation (but of Middle Belt Origins as can be seen among the ethnic Igalas of Kogi State, Northern Enugu, Northern Anambra, etc, the ethnic Yorubas especially of Kogi and Kwara States, the Ebiras, Jukuns, and more, etc).

1. Ohaneze allows those whose mothers were Igbos

2. Ohaneze like mentioned above thinks they can lure a whole constitutionally recognized ethnic group to drop their identity for a borrowed one in the 21st century

3. If you have read the above you would observed that there are still some Aro descendants in Ikwerre Land. Those Aros descendants are those who claim to be Igbos e.g Livingston Wechie, Uche Okwukwu amongst other Aro descendants.
That's interesting. Is Herbert Wigwe who hailed from Isiokpo also of Aro origins? Herbert was married to an Anambra woman. Same with Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi who is married to an Anambra woman. I wonder if these two men too are direct descendants of the Aros who notoriously controlled the sale of the primitive tribes in the Igbo interior and a few others for sale to the Ijaw middlemen and the White slave buyers at Bonny and other Niger Delta slave ports.

IWHURUOHNA (IKWERRE) ETHNIC NATIONALITY IS NEVER A SUBGROUP OF ANY ETHNIC NATION IN NIGERIA OR ELSEWHERE

Preamble:

Iwhuruohna ethnicity is one of the ethnic blocs which constitutes present day Nigeria and the people are found in four local government areas in present day Rivers State. The local government areas (LGAs ) include: Ikwerre ( Kelga), Emohua (Emolga), Obio-Akpor (Obalga), and Port Harcourt City (Phalga). Iwhuruohna remains a homogeneous ethnic group with a common ancestry and paternity. In this stead, we make the following declaratory statements:
Iwhuruohna people are from Rivers State and the Niger Delta region of Nigeria. The people have their unique culture and traditions.

Iwhuruohna share the same ancestry with the Ekpeye and the Ogba people of Rivers State

Iwhuruohna people migrated from the Ancient Benin Kingdom during the reigns of Oba Ewuare (Ogwaro) . Our paternity is traceable to a great grand ancestor - AKALAKA who left the Ancient Benin Kingdom in company of his sons which included IHRUOHA (IWHURUOHNA).

The name, Ikwerre, was an " Igbonised" version of " Akwerulem" - 'we have agreed or consented ' (a response of a Rebisi Monarch to an Igbo translator and a Briton during the negotiations for acquisition of acres of land for Port Harcourt wharf).

The theory of origins linking Iwhuruohna ethnicity to Igbo ancestry was ill- conceived as a result of the balkanization and " Igbonisation" of Iwhuruohna by Igbo merchants from Aro, Nkwere and Awka who oppressed and suppressed the aborigines in their place.

The declaration of Ogbakor Ikwerre Cultural Organization during the Chukwudifu Oputa Human Rights Violation Panel 2001 that : " Ikwerre ethnic nationality is not and has never been a subgroup of any other tribe in Nigeria, including Ndi-Igbo..." would suffice here.

The regionalization of Nigeria during the colonial era placed Ndi-Igbo on an advantageous position against other minority groups in the defunct Eastern Regional Government including Iwhuruohna people.
Till date, there are still pockets of Igbo (Aro) settlements in such Iwhuruohna Communities at Elele, Igwuruta, Isiokpo. They are evidently Aro compounds like Aro-Omuodu, Aro-Omuodukwu, Aro-Omuma, Aro-Ogbogbu in Igwuruta and Nmgbu Oyo at Isiokpo.

8. The earliest incursion into Ikwerre hinterland by the Igbo emboldened the proponents of Igbo expansionist theory to erroneously think or link Iwhuruohna to an Igbo ancestry.

9. During colonial era, some Igbo merchants such as Nwocha Amefula, Osondu Oyo, Amakiri Nwocha, Nwosu Okorie Ebika held positions of trust and represented Iwhuruohna people as warrant chiefs at Isiokpo, Omagwa, Ozuaha, Omademe and Ipo for seven years at the Choba division

10. The Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999(2010) as amended recognizes Iwhuruohna (Ikwerre) ethnic nationality as a distinct and unique ethnic group in Nigeria. The people of Iwhuruohna frown at any attempt by some Igbo expansionists to incorporate Iwhuruohna as a subset or subgroup of any other in Nigeria or elsewhere.

11. We acknowledge some shared similarities between Iwhuruohna and her neighbours including the Igbo in terms of aspects of culture and traditions. This does not, in anyway, validate the bogus and unverified claims that Iwhuruohna is Igbo as being peddled by Igbo expansionists.

12. We call on the general public and the Governor and Government of Rivers State to be wary of the tricks and pranks of the Igbo expansionists in the nomenclature of " Ohaneze Ndi-Igbo" and their activities in Rivers State.

13. We would continue to associate with and reverence our paternity or genealogy to the Ancient Benin Kingdom in honours of our ancestors - AKALAKA & IHRUOHA (IWHURUOHNA).

14. Thanks for your rapt attention and be properly guided as we pray "CHIOKIKE" to strengthen and embolden us to always speak the truth and nothing but the truth! We do not also support any expansionist meeting(s) in Rivers State as it will cause agitation among the people of the State.

PoliticsRe: The New Way To Determine If A Community Is Igbo by Konquest: 6:29pm On Jan 12, 2025
Ofodirinwa:
This december we saw hundreds of drone shots of igbo villages.
I am here to categorically say if your village does not look like an Igbo village, your people are probably not Igbo.

There is a debate about Ikwerre and other groups being Igbo. I used to believe they were Igbo until I realized what their rural communities looked like.

The reason this is a good testing method is because I know what Igbo culture, spirit and psychology does to a young man and how it is impossible to live and die without making an imprint on your community as a minimum. This is primarily done through building a great home. I also know that this same spirit ina community will assure that, at least, 25-30% of young men will be rich by the time they pass.

But I see Ikwerre communities are still in 1912. Meanwhile most of Anioma and Ika look like most of Imo, Anambra, Abia, Enugu, Ebonyi etc.

So it is obvious to me that there is a difference. In the Igbo communities, nobody is forcing or instructing these young men to build what they are building. The generation after them are even thinking of ways to out build the previous generation. If you go to Ijaw villages, Ikwerre villages, Edo villages in 2000. Come back in 2024 and nothing has changed. Just bungalows and dirt road.

This is not to say that there is no poverty in Igboland, but within that poor family, every 1 years a member escapes poverty. So there will be physical evidence of this.

I don't believe in claiming the unclaimable. If you are Igbo, it will show. Going forward, Igbo villages are the ones that look like the one below.
PoliticsRe: American Returnee Leads Robbery, Kills Lagos Uber Driver by Konquest: 6:21pm On Jan 12, 2025
adenigga:
The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a 21-year-old US returnee, David Segun, and two others for allegedly killing an Uber driver in the Obalende area of Lagos State.

The Commissioner of Police, Ishola Olanrewaju, disclosed this while parading the suspects at the state command headquarters on Saturday.

Olanrewaju disclosed that Segun and his friends, Emeka Akwara (19) Samuel Ariori (21) and Lukman Ariori (19) ordered an Uber ride from Chevron in Lekki to Obalende at midnight on Thursday, January 9.

He said upon arriving at a lonely area in Obalende, the suspects allegedly robbed and killed the Uber driver by stabbing him multiple times in the neck.

According to him, the suspects were unable to snatch the vehicle, and two among them were apprehended on the spot by members of the community.

He said, “On January 9, 2025, at about midnight, a case of conspiracy, armed robbery and murder was reported. One Emeka Akwara 19yrs, David Segun, 21yrs, Samuel Ariori, 21yrs and Lukman Ariori, 19yrs ordered an Uber at Chevron in the Lekki area – en-route to Obalende. On getting to Obalende in a lonely area, they robbed and killed the Uber driver by stabbing him multiple times in the neck, unfortunately, they were unable to snatch the vehicle.

“With the intervention of good Samaritans within the environs, two suspects were immediately arrested and were handed over to police operatives attached to Lion Building.“

The Police chief further stated that two other fleeing suspects were arrested in the Chevron area of the state, adding that the deceased’s corpse was deposited in the morgue at Mainland Hospital, Yaba.

Olanrewaju who explained that an investigation had begun into the incident described Segun as a US returnee as well as the gang’s leader.

While pointing at him, Olanrewaju said, “This is their team leader. He was sent home from America by his father. The mother at home could still not handle him. The failure of society is placed on the police. We are not complaining, it is a job we signed up for. They will be facing criminal prosecution right from Monday.

“I wonder the value of what this vehicle will fetch in the market that made them snuff the life out of the owner. Probably the man even took the vehicle on hire purchase,” he added.

Other suspects were paraded for kidnapping, cultism, armed robbery, carjacking and other various acts of criminalities.

The CP also noted that the command had intelligence-led policing during the yuletide season which resulted in a peaceful celebration.

“During this period, we had intelligence-led policing that resulted in the peaceful yuletide season that we had in Lagos. It is on record that Murtala Muhammed airport received nothing less than 500,000 diasporan Nigerians and ninety percent of whom did not go outside of Lagos for celebration,” he added

What a bunch of demented youngsters.

Lethal injections and/or electric chair executions should be introduced urgently in Nigeria for all capital offences. Nigeria has become highly notorious for encouraging these types of crimes through the refusal of those State Governors to sign the death warrants of criminals who have been sentenced to death by the courts. This is majorly one of the reasons why crimes and homicide cases have surged.

Xisnin:
Yes, Tinubu's appointment favors the SW.
But there are some serious issues with this list.

1. the inclusion of all ministers.
By law, each state must have a minister, junior or senior.

2. the inclusion of tenured appointment.
The CJN for example is not strictly Tinubu's appointee, she is the most senior Judge in the supreme court, hence her position.

3. It did not include other principal appointments from other ethnic groups for proper comparison.
Chief of Army staff was included but not Chief of Defense and Naval staff.

Audacius:
IN-HOUSE DICTIONARY OF ACRONYMS

NSEMPA: Nigeria Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts – Name of the thread.

BNSTIL: A very old NSEMPA shorthand for "Brothers and Sisters in the Lord".

FA: Fundamental Analysis – Stock analysis done with fundamentals of a stock such as financial statements and other economic indicators.

TA: Technical Analysis – Stock analysis done with using some technical tools and charts.

GA: Gut Analysis – From claims of having “gut feelings” about how a stock will move.

SA: Spiritual or Sentimental Analysis – From sentimental attachment to a stock and claims of spiritual insight into the future of a stock.

FUGAZ: Acronym for First Bank, UBA, GTCO, Accesscorp and Zenith. Conisdered highly capitalizaed banks.

MH: Monkey hunting/ Monkey hunter – An allegation/accusation that a stock is being manipulated either by calls to buy or sell off. The "monkey hunter" then profits by buying more or selling off their holdings when prices move in their favour.

Background: From story of a businessman who goes to a village to buy monkeys. He buys at different intervals at ever higher prices thus creating a market for monkeys along with artificial scarcity. He ends up selling off all the monkeys back to the villagers who hoped there will always be market for monkey sale. He disappears after selling at the highest price and all the villagers had monkeys with no one to sell to, losing all their money in the bid. Author of the real story unknown. It is posted here once in a while.

SMN: stockmarketnewsnigeria [dot] com. A now-defunct website exclusively created for stock discussions like here. Was probably owned by owners of Nairaland.

Cowboys: CEOs of notable companies who are considered to display manipulative business tactics.

Men in Black: An old NSEMPA term for deep pocket investors who can cause stock price movement because of the volume they trade, and who actually do so to cause price movement.

One Afolabi Unit: 2,000 units of any stock.
Background: I can’t recall. Someone should kindly provide the story behind the “Afolabi units” term.

JIJO: Jump in, Jump out. Term used by traders. Means buying a stock and selling at the very shortest term especially as soon as it makes some gains.

Tashere Units: Very few numbers of shares bought or left unsold. Amount depends on the person. Such shares are either bought or left in the portfolio to have a "foot in the door”, e.g. so as not to have to process e-dividend all over again or just to see how the stock will perform.

Loot: A gloating or bragging term for large profit from short term trade. A jackpot from JIJO. (As described by @Zendi)

Bull from Burundi: A way to describe noticeable general rise in the prices of stocks. An apparent play on the words bull and Burundi.

Stockfish: The newest NSEMPA term. (c. 2024) Used to denote a stock that is considered as having lost value so much that it is nearly worthless and a trap for whoever buys it. A play on shares as a financial instrument and fish in the market.

I recently came across this attached 150-year-old chart created by a farmer named Samuel Benner in 1875. How relevant is this chart, particularly to the Nigerian Stock Market? That’s the first question I asked myself. Looking at the recent yearly data of the NGX ASI, it appears to be quite relevant. We are now moving towards "B," the good times, which are projected to end by 2026 - three years after 2023.

I posted a video of Samuel Benner's 1875 chart on the U.S. stocks thread in December of 2024 as well. The market cycles projections are indeed uncanny.

PoliticsRe: Dr. Arinze Onwumelu: Sometimes, I Wonder, We Igbos Think We Are Very Smart by Konquest: 9:38am On Jan 12, 2025
PressMyButton:
Canadian-based Nigerian doctor, Arinze Onwumelu, also known as Dr. Zo, has shared his opinion about the financial prudence of building mansions in villages.

Speaking on the topic, Dr. Zo questioned the longstanding tradition, which he described as economically unviable in the face of modern realities.

“There is this thing we have in the east that for you to be recognised as an Odogwu (a wealthy man), you must build a big mansion in the village. I did it too. I watched a lot of people this last Christmas go home and open their big mighty mansions in the East, especially. I don’t think other parts of the country have this same concept.”

Dr. Zo expressed concern about the lack of economic value in such investments.

“Sometimes, I wonder, we the Igbos think we are very smart in terms of economy, but sometimes I wonder the economic value. If I build that house somewhere in Lagos, Abuja, or Port-Harcourt, even Enugu, I would have made over a N100 million in the last five years.”

While Dr. Zo did not entirely dismiss the idea of owning property in the village, he advocated for moderation.

“I am not saying you should not build a house in the village. What I tell you is what I tell my younger ones: go to the village and just build a small house, 4-bedroom, have a big compound. It’s always good to have something in the village, but it does not have to be a mansion, occupying everywhere with houses. It’s rubbish.”

Reflecting on his personal experience, Dr. Zo shared the burdens of maintaining such properties.

“What I am saying to you, I did it, my father did it, father’s friends did it, and their kids are struggling today to maintain those houses. I am spending a lot of money to maintain the house I haven’t been in over four years because of things going on in the east—insecurity and stuff. So, what is the economic value? It is just a wrong move.”

He went further to advise against repeating the mistakes of the past. “What I am saying today, you will realise it in 25 years. Absolutely no need for those houses. Use that money and put it in better locations that will give you money. This is coming from a mistake that I made. A village mansion is a waste of time and a waste of money.”

https://www.vanguardngr.com/2025/01/building-mansion-in-village-as-igbo-man-is-waste-of-money-canada-based-dr-zo/
From the maintenance and economic standpoints, the man in the article made a lot of sense. "Moderation" and NOT "showing off" or engaging in "empty bragging" is key.

I saw a travel YouTuber's video on this same topic and it was pathetic seeing completely empty big houses some of which were NOT well maintained and were already falling apart! The owners are simply based in the cities of other regions of Nigeria and abroad while only visiting at least once a year.

Indeed, a lot of gentrification is needed over there tbh. The videos I've seen of living conditions is that environment are NOT dignifying at all.

Most of the residents there constitute fishing communities originally from the neighboring Benin Republic and Togo. This is why French is used to teach their children in the schools located within that environment. I don't know if some of them are ethnic Yoruba Beninoise or Yoruba Togolese immigrants or some other ethnic groups such as Ewe, Aja or Fon from Togo, and Benin Republics, but they have to move and some token resettlement money paid to them OR better still return to their countries of origin in the meantime. But Lagos State has to be very proactive to ensure that illegal settlements like Makoko don't keep popping up by using satellite imaging to track these slums and illegal fishing settlements.

I read an interview years back in the 2010s of another fishing slum somewhere on the Lekki-Ajah axis that was demolished by Lagos State and one of the older women who claimed she was born in the illegal settlement was interviewed and she said she's from Badagry (and had no where to go because she had never been to Badagry). It was very obvious she was desperate and wasn't telling the truth, obviously because she was a foreigner from either Benin Republic or Togo. How could she say she lives right in Lagos State and had never been to Badagry? It was one of the NGOs that brought the case to media attention and that's how the woman was interviewed. Lagos State MUST be proactive and anticipate such tantrums and resistance (aided by some of these human rights NGOs in the media) from Makoko as well, but that place MUST be leveled and rebuilt with better waterfront infrastructure. Period.

If you want to buy a Nigerian used car presently, you need to take your time. Don't buy from any middle man. Those so called dealers are worst than house agent. Some of them add as much as 500k on top wetin the owner dey demand.

Look for a friend, a friend's friend or a Yahoo boy trying to sell around you. So you can have an idea of the usage.

All those "car used by a lady" "owner relocating abroad" etc na packaging.
Wetin my eye see when I was trying to "upgrade" by getting a Nigerian used no be small.

Now I don go back to my own car. When I have money I go get a Tokunbo.
Interesting takes on the Nigerian pre-owned car market.

I step out of Lagos searching for a reliable camry 2004. I saw many dealers on Jiji and nairaland. I visited each of them with my reliable mechanic.

After checking several cars, we discovered that none of the Nigerian used cars is worth buying .
They always have one problem or the other. The most common is bad engines.

Many dealers even promised to give my mechanic 100k behind my back to convince me to buy this melon car.

It's crazy that with 4.5 million, all you can get is a bad car.
We return home disappointed.

On getting home. I went back to check my own car that I have been driving for 5 years. My engine, gear, and ac are still in perfect condition and I wonder if those putting their car on sale are those with major problem.

Nigeria dealers have ruined the used car market. Is this a problem with toyota or because the car is a lower year.

I didn't consider other brands. Maybe it would have been a different situation.

At the moment, we are considering buying Tokunbo direct or on installment payment in order to evade this madness in the Nigerian used car Market
Even the foreign pre-owned (used) vehicles have to be properly verified by checking the VIN because a lot of those cars sold are either stolen from Canada, U.S.A, UK or badly accidented cars. So, do your due diligence so you get your money's worth.

Dpharmacist:
75% of Life’s Success Isn’t Taught in Nigerian Schools. This is Why You Need to Learn Beyond the Classroom

Have you ever wondered why so many successful individuals achieved greatness despite not undergoing the traditional education system?

Research shows that 75% of what we need to succeed in life is not taught in Nigerian schools, and a significant portion of what we are taught is rarely applicable in the real world.

This shocking reality highlights the shortcomings of the Nigerian curriculum in preparing students for the complexities of modern life. Our schools focus heavily on theoretical knowledge, often neglecting critical life skills like financial literacy, emotional intelligence, entrepreneurship, and digital proficiency—skills essential for navigating today’s world.

Why Is This Gap So Widespread?

1. Outdated Curriculum: Many schools still follow curriculums designed decades ago, which fail to address the demands of the 21st century. I remember one of our teachers in SS class back then who was using a 1990 text book when it was 2008.

2. Focus on Grades Over Growth: The emphasis on passing exams rather than fostering creativity and critical thinking stifles students' ability to innovate. When sometimes go to the lab and told to skip topics from the practical manual. We focus too much on theory.

3. Neglect of Practical Skills: Topics like personal finance, career planning, and interpersonal skills are missing, leaving students unprepared for life after school.

What Can Be Done?

If you’re waiting for the education system to change, you might be waiting forever. It’s time to take your future into your own hands:

Invest in Self-Education: Use online platforms like Coursera, Udemy, and YouTube to learn in-demand skills. Read books on entrepreneurship, personal finance, and emotional intelligence.

Build Soft Skills: Focus on communication, teamwork, time management, and adaptability—these are the traits employers value the most.

Experiment and Take Risks: Start a small business, volunteer, or work on side projects to gain real-world experience.

For Parents and Educators

Parents and teachers have a significant role in shaping well-rounded individuals. They can:

1. Encourage students to pursue extracurricular activities that develop their creativity and resilience.

2. Teach financial literacy early to help children understand money management.

3. Foster curiosity and problem-solving by supporting questions and independent thinking.

A Wake-Up Call for Policy Makers

It’s not enough to acknowledge the gaps in the system—action is needed. Nigerian policymakers must:

1. Revamp the curriculum to prioritize life skills over rote memorization.

2. Train teachers to embrace modern teaching methods and technology.

3. Create programs that support entrepreneurship and digital literacy from an early age.

Redefining Success

Success in today’s world is not just about academic excellence; it’s about character, adaptability, and the ability to solve real-world problems. The education system should nurture these qualities, but until it does, individuals must actively seek knowledge and opportunities to grow.

So, the big question is: What are you doing to learn what school didn’t teach you? Share your thoughts, experiences, and suggestions in the comments below. Let’s start a conversation that could inspire change!

The internet got buzzing in Jos today after a video of a pretty lady walking about naked in the Rayfield area of Jos today. She was about with her clothes in her hands. Alot of people are suspecting Yahoo boys but the truth is na only God know the actual root.

What kind of generation do we have today that instead of people especially females to rally round her and cover her but they rather prefer recording her. Arrrrh
This is a sign of cognitive or mental discordance and could be as a result of the effect of hard drugs intake (or the effect of a date rape drug) and not anything else. She may not have been the one that took the hard drugs but could have been forced to do it by some evil minded people.

Regardless, I expect that she would have been taken off the streets of Rayfield area of Jos by now so that she doesn't get sexually attacked at night. It's very unkind that some people would start gaucking and whipping out their crappy mobile phones just to start filming away and not contact the health authorities to get her off the streets. I know Jos to be a more cosmopolitan and descent environment in the past so they should activate all rescue protocols for this girl.
