PoliticsRe: Many Nigerians Abandon Air Travel As Ticket Prices Soar Above ₦‎200,000 by Konquest: 12:39pm On Sep 12, 2024
Thissystem:
The soaring cost of domestic air travel in Nigeria is forcing many citizens to abandon air transportation, as one-way tickets now sell for over N200,000 on several routes.

Routes such as Lagos to Abuja, Enugu, Kano, and Owerri have seen unprecedented price hikes, with some flights costing as much as N650,000, depending on the airline and the time of booking.

A one-way economy class ticket from Lagos to Abuja, previously priced between N50,000 to N65,000, now ranges between N130,000 and N220,000.

Similarly, flights from Lagos to Kano and Lagos to Owerri have reached staggering prices, with tickets costing up to N650,000 and N600,000, respectively.

Business Day reports that the surge in prices is attributed to a combination of factors, including the scarcity of foreign exchange, increased maintenance costs, and the grounding of some domestic airlines, such as Dana Air.

According to the report, many airlines are struggling to maintain their fleets, with fewer aircraft available to meet demand, creating a virtual monopoly on certain routes.

Passengers like Patience Kofo, who used to frequently travel with her children from Lagos to Abuja, have been priced out of flying.

“I used to spend between N500,000 to N600,000 on return tickets, but now it costs over N1.5 million,” she said.

Similarly, frequent business traveller Musa Iyal had to cancel his trip after discovering that a one-way ticket from Kano to Lagos was priced at N230,000, citing that such high costs would erode his business profits.

With rising costs and reduced fleet availability, many Nigerians are turning to alternative forms of transportation, making air travel increasingly a luxury reserved for the wealthy.

Veegil:
Former Assistant Director of the Department of State Services (DSS), Dennis Amachree, says labour leader Joe Ajaero is under investigation for supposed terrorism financing and related offences and shouldn’t leave Nigeria.

“There is an ongoing investigation, he (Ajaero) cannot leave the country,” Amachree said on a television show on Tuesday. “Let him remain in the country whilst investigations are going on.”

“For terrorism financing which he (Ajaero) has been accused of, and which is under investigation, he cannot leave the country. Even if he is leaving the country, where is he going?

“Remember, the main man (Andrew Wynne) that was suspected of financing terrorism is his tenant and I don’t think Ajaero is going to go to London without talking to that person because he is in London running his mouth,” Amachree said.

The ex-DSS chief said the person of Ajaero is not the same as the office of the president of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) which he currently occupies. He said Ajaero is being investigated on a personal note and not as the NLC chief.

Amachree said Ajaero must have been on the watch list of security agencies for him to be stopped and apprehended at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja on Monday morning.

The former DSS chief asserted that the labour leader might have fled Nigeria like wanted Binance executive Nadeem Anjarwalla if permitted to travel to the United Kingdom (UK) on Monday.

“Joe Ajaero has a terrorism case to answer, and he is not above the law,” he said, adding that the intelligence agencies in Nigeria ought to be doing everything to repatriate Wynne from Britain to Nigeria.

The secret police apprehended Ajaero on Monday morning and released him around midnight.

The labour leader was en route to the United Kingdom (UK) on Monday for a Trade Union Congress (TUC) event when he was apprehended at Abuja airport.

The labour leader said however he was confined by the DSS, some police officers likewise came around to grill him at the DSS office in Abuja over the #EndBadGovernance nationwide dissent which took place in August.

Ajaero said he was quizzed over supposed terrorism funding involving Wynne, who has been proclaimed wanted by the police. Both Ajaero and Wynne denied claims levelled against them by security agencies.

EDO2024: IGP orders arrest and investigation of officer caught on tape making unauthorized political comments about Edo governorship election

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sfJExLHYv3o

The Nigeria Police Force says it is aware of a recent video evidencing political comment by an individual dressed in a Spy Police uniform regarding the upcoming Edo State gubernatorial elections, which has been circulating on social media platforms. In a statement released, the spokesperson of the police force, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, said the NPF strongly condemns this act and clarifies that the individual is not a regular officer of the Nigeria Police Force, but a Supernumerary (Spy) Police Officer employed by a private company.

‘’Supernumerary Police Officers are private individuals trained by the Nigeria Police for specific security functions, primarily within their place of employment. They are not on the payroll of the NPF and do not swear to the oath of allegiance like sworn regular police officers, thus they have the right to belong to any political party of their choice and freedom of expression. In this extant case, the Police frowns at the wearing of his official SPY uniform and engaging in political activities.

The individual involved has been arrested for further investigations. We reiterate that his political comments do not reflect the views of the Nigeria Police, and the public is urged to disregard any such statements and trust in our continued commitment to professionalism, neutrality, and the rule of law.’’ Adejobi said

The Edo governorship election holds on September 21, 2024.

*LABOUR PARTY CALLS ON NATIONAL SECURITY ADVISER AND EFCC TO INVESTIGATE AISHA YESUFU AND ITUA IGHODALO FOR EMBEZZLEMENT, MISAPPROPRIATION AND POSSIBLE TERRORISM FINANCING

Gentlemen of the Press

(1) The attention of Labour party National Working Committee under the leadership of Barr Julius Abure (National Chairman) and Alh Farouk Umar Ibrahim (National Secretary) has been drawn to unguarded comments made against the party leadership by irresponsible irreparable irredeemable arsonist Mrs Aisha Yesufu while trying to defend her involvement in the criminal conspiracy and diversion of funds in Labour party presidential campaign account.

(2) The Political buccaneer cum scavenger said that the National Chairman of our great party Barr Julius Abure was lying as she never embezzled the funds of the party during the campaign for the 2023 election claiming that our party National Chairman was still living in the past where he thinks one can make such allegations without being fact-checked for its authenticity.

(3) Mrs Aisha Yesufu concluded the defense of her innocence like a patient suffering from Bipolar affliction where she said our party National Chairman Barr Julius Abure thinks we are still in 1980 where one can lie shamelessly without being fact checked.

(4) Ordinarily, the very silly rantings from this low-life grossly incompetent and daft Mrs Aisha Yesufu would have been ignored but for one reason, to expose the yawning emptiness in the cheap meal-ticket and ATM called Mr Peter Gregory onwubuasi Obi.
(27) Our party therefore requested the National Security Adviser and calls EFCC to investigate the accounts above for terrorism financing, incitement, fraud impersonation, felony and anarchy and if found culpable should be arrested and charged to court in line with Section 251(2) & (3) which provides thus: The Federal High Court shall have and exercise jurisdiction and powers in respect of treason, treasonable felony and allied offences.

FG blames NLC for blocking sale of refineries to Dangote in 2007

“Clearly, under the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 (As Amended), no person is above the summons of law enforcement agencies and lawful investigation. Like the United Kingdom and other civilised nations, Nigeria is a country of law governed by the Constitution.

“We are not aware that there is anyone in the United Kingdom or anywhere in Europe and the United States, trade union leaders inclusive, who will flagrantly ignore the invitation or summons of MI5 or Scotland Yard or treat the FBI with the level of disdain Mr Ajaero has subjected law enforcement agencies in Nigeria.”

He also cited the case in United States, where former President Donald Trump has been the subject of numerous investigations and prosecutions in courts in several states since he left office. Mr. Hunter Biden, son of the President of the United States, has been the subject of a lawful investigation by the FBI.

“We, therefore, reject any notion and allusion to human rights violations in Nigeria. The accusations made by the Trade Union Congress in the United Kingdom are, thus, unfounded and based on a misunderstanding of the situation,” he said.

” Besides, the Nigerian Government is being led by a pro-democracy activist president who will do everything to protect civil liberties and the rights of all citizens.

FamilyRe: Paul Bolton, 68-Year-Old Briton Is Looking For His Yoruba Father, Femi Odiendie by Konquest:
GreatAxeMan:
My British mum’s family opposed her relationship with Yoruba architecture student in 1954, now I’m searching for dad – 68-year-old Briton

Sixty-eight-year-old Mr Paul Bolton, born by an English woman to a Nigerian man in 1954. He tells OLADIMEJI RAMON about his search for his Nigerian father believed to be a Yoruba man, whom he has never met.

[img]https://images./6o5raZZauZLnAP5QsOUed8.jpg[/img]

Q: Tell us about yourself.

My name is Paul Bolton. I am a 68-year-old chartered structural consultant, living in Surrey (South-East England).

Where were you born and who are your parents?

I was born in Leeds; my father’s name is given as Femi Odiendie or Femi Odeiwde. My mother’s maiden name was Denise Rosamund Mary Williams.

Do you have any siblings and where are they?

I am unaware of any siblings on my father’s side. My mother had two children after she married several years later to someone other than my father.

You said your father is an architect from Nigeria; when did you see him last?

It is my understanding that he is an architect, assumed to be in Nigeria, but I cannot be certain of either point. I have never met my father.

In what circumstances did he leave the UK and returned to Nigeria?

My understanding is that he completed his studies in the UK; apparently he was living in Preston (North-West of England) at the time of my birth. It was thought that my father had suggested that he would like to care for me and take me back to Nigeria; clearly this did not come to pass.

How old were you when he left?

Unknown.

Do you have his photographs?

No.

Why do you think he didn’t stay in touch with his family after he left for Nigeria?

Within three weeks of my birth, my mother had to hand me over to an orphanage. My father was unlikely to have been given my whereabouts. My mother’s mother sent my mother to a “Mother and Baby” home in Leeds run by the Catholic Church in order to keep the fact that she was pregnant a secret, with a view to returning to her studies after my birth.

What was the reason your grandmother wanted the pregnancy to be kept as a secret?

Pregnancy outside of marriage in 1953 was considered to be very shameful, particularly within Catholic families, which they were. No doubt, the fact that my mother was white compounded the problem. My father met my grandmother, presumably, before my birth.

How old was your mother at the time she got pregnant then?

She would have been 19 years old when she became pregnant and 20 years old when I was born.

Did your mother tell you how she met your father?

They apparently met whilst they were both studying architecture at the city of Hull. It has been confirmed that my mother was indeed studying architecture but regarding my father, there is also a note to say that he was an engineer, so there is some confusion here.

I found a gentleman on Facebook named Oluyemi Odiende, who studied architecture at the Hull School of Architecture, but he may have died last year. My father was named Femi Odiendie and studied at the same place.

Where is your mother now and how old is she?

The last communication I had with her, albeit via a councillor from the Catholic Children’s society, was back in 1995, when I wrote to her. She elected not to meet me, which was very disappointing. She said that stage of her life needed to be kept buried. There has been no contact since. I do not know if she is still alive. If she is, she will be 88 years old.

Are you in touch with your half-siblings and what is your relationship with them?

As my mother did not want to meet me when I managed to locate her, I assumed that she wanted to keep this stage of her life a secret from her family. I have, therefore, not attempted to get in touch with either of my half-sisters; the eldest sister had severe mental disorders.

Will you like to talk about when and how you eventually left the orphanage?

My formal adoption took place when I was six years old. I was adopted by a white family, who at the time could not have children of their own. I was fostered to them 18 months earlier. My adopted parents subsequently had three of their own children – they always said it was God’s reward (for adopting me). I get on very well with my adopted siblings, albeit we are very different, nature versus nurture – from my experience, nature is an overriding parameter.

My adopted parents were very loving and caring; I owe them so much, who knows what sort of life would have been ahead of me had I lived all my childhood in care.
The town that I grew up in was predominantly white, so as a black kid, I was certainly a bit of a novelty. It was a happy childhood, I enjoyed being different from other kids and I think that it moulded my character.

When did you begin to have the desire to see your father or at least your father’s relatives in Nigeria?

It would have been at the time of the birth of my firstborn in 1993. I realised that this is the first person that I had a blood connection with, thus the urge to know who my parents were became more important to me. I realised that my children would, at some point, want to know their background, so I started my search.

What steps have you taken towards achieving this goal?

I have searched for my father by writing to various universities/colleges where he might have studied whilst in the UK, without success. I also wrote to the Nigerian High Commission in London and the Nigerian Institute of Architects in Lagos, but neither organisation responded.

Why is connecting with your Nigerian roots important to you?

I would like to know about my Nigerian heritage and in particular, my paternal family.

What will you do, the day you see your father or meet his people?

I really cannot answer this, but I suspect that it will be very emotional.

You must have got some information about Nigeria; what is the most striking thing you have heard or read about Nigeria?

My knowledge of Nigeria is shamefully shallow.

If you come to Nigeria, besides your father or his relatives, what other things will you be looking forward to seeing?

It would be good to trace my ancestors and how they lived.

Bump.

That's the warrior spirit in us. For us men, we ALWAYS crave to know our ancestries and who our biological fathers are. Genealogy means a lot in defining a man.

I'm glad he at least found some of his relatives.

My brother, I am not a baby, I have been following the political happenings since 1992 when I am almost doing my SSCE.
My brother should a candidate in an election secretly step down without informing his teeming supporters, so that they will know the direction of their voting on the day of the election or are you insinuating that he doesn't have supporters across board? By that Nuru Ribadu has gaslighted you and those that believe in that bullshit.
In a nutshell, Nuru Ribadu never stepped down. Every candidates that had ever stepped always make public show of it, as to abreast their teeming supporters.
Tinubu supported Nuru Ribadu and he lost in the election, no shortcuts.
Just to be clearer here. If you read the BOLDED section of my post properly, I CLEARLY STATED that Nuhu Ribadu stepped down at the very last minute [about 2 days before the 2011 Presidential elections of Saturday, 16 April 2011] as a result of the alliance talks between CPC and ACN. Nuhu was right about that because NOBODY countered him.

I had to step into the conversation you were having with the other guy because I wanted to set that record of history straight since people [including myself] initially thought Nuhu Ribadu took part in that 2011 Presidential elections NOT realising that he had actually stepped down two days to that election.

I too have been following the political events right from the 1979 to the 1983 Presidential elections cycles. I do NOT doubt your take on how you have been following elections since the early 1990s when you were about to do your SSCE [meaning you are about 49 or 50 years of age] as of now.

Just like you stated, supporters of ACN [and the public] were supposed to have been informed [and they were duly informed at the the last minute because an ACN (now APC member) on NL confirmed it] but it didn't go round enough to the general public. I too was surprised when I read the Sunday Punch interview or article because I NEVER heard the final official information that Nuhu Ribadu stepped down for Buhari at the last minute until that moment that the elections took place on Saturday, 16 April 2011. What I was aware of in 2011 and this was widely circulated in the media was that CPC and ACN were in talks for an alliance. So, when Nuhu Ribadu said in the newspaper interview that he stepped down, I BELIEVED him because many people were aware that a planned alliance was taking place with Nuhu Ribadu hoping that he would get the alliance Presidential ticket and Buhari would step down for him. I actually kept that that two-page newspaper interview that Nuhu Ribadu granted for historical purposes.

If you go through this post 2011 NL post got from the Daily Times newspaper, you will see where Daily Times reported that Nuhu Ribadu stepped down for Muhammed Buhari.
=> https://www.nairaland.com/645300/ribadu-stands-down

From the article BELOW you can see that Nuhu was still insisting that he would NOT step down for anybody [because alliance talks were going on in the final week to the ]. Nuhu later agreed to STEP DOWN but it was too late to mobilize everyone and I got to know that Tunde Bakare of CPC was also raising some objections about him having to step down as well for Fola Adeolu of the ACN who was the co-founder of GTBank.

"The presidential candidate of the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu has vowed ahead of next week’s presidential election not to step down for anyone."

FINALLY, in a revealing newspaper interview right BELOW, the now President Bola Ahmed Tinubu CLEARLY confirmed that indeed Nuhu Ribadu wanted to STEP DOWN for Muhammed Buhari of CPC but his party ACN told him to still hang on so Nuhu is right about stepping down for Buhari before the Presidential elections of Saturday April 16, 2011.

Tinubu supported Nuhu Ribadu in 2011 and he lost. He support Atiku Abubakar in 2007 and Atiku lost. He supported Gboyega and he lost his second term and the first term he even won was pure abracadabra.
So many he has supported and they woefully lost election.
Nuhu Ribadu of the then ACN party said he did NOT contest the 2011 Presidential elections because he STEPPED down for Muhammed Buhari of the then CPC party as a result of the alliance discussions between his ACN party and CPC party. This is what eventually led to the formation of APC by MAJORLY the ACN, CPC and ANPP immediately after the ACN and CPC 2011 alliance did not achieve it's objectives of removing the PDP. Nuhu Ribadu said this himself in a Punch newspaper interview he granted in the late 2010s that I read in response to allegations that he was dumped by ACN.

He clearly said in that Punch newspaper interview that it was unfair to accuse the ACN Yoruba folks of abandoning him with the exception of Osun State that massively voted for him due to the Rauf Aregbesola factor because he ACTUALLY didn't take part in the 2011 Presidential election of that year having stepped down for Muhammed Buhari at the very last minute to the day of that election. The news wasn't passed around enough at that time so many people didn't know that he had stepped down for the CPC candidate. Tunde Bakare too threw spanner in the works because he said he did not agree with the plan being a Vice Presidential candidate of the CPC.

dre11:
Dangote Refinery Begins Polypropylene Production In October, Curbing Nigeria’s $268m Import

The Dangote Refinery is set to begin polypropylene production by the end of October 2024, effectively curbing Nigeria’s imports of the product which is a crucial raw material in various industries, including packaging, textiles, and automotive parts.

Chairman of Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote, announced that as the refinery edges closer to full operational status, it will meet the local demand for polypropylene, previously reliant on imports valued at approximately $267.7 million annually.

This shift is expected to significantly benefit various industries, including packaging, textiles, and automotive manufacturing, which have faced challenges due to foreign exchange issues and long shipping times.

Dangote emphasised that the refinery is prepared to supply the market fully, alleviating the struggles of local manufacturers who have had to stockpile due to import delays.

The production of polypropylene will not only reduce costs associated with importation but also enhance the stability of the Nigerian economy by decreasing reliance on foreign products. With this development, Nigeria aims to become self-sufficient in polypropylene production, marking a significant milestone in its industrialisation efforts.

“Let me assure you of one thing, Nigeria from October will not import any more polypropylene, which used to be about a quarter of a million tons,” he said. “No more imports of polypropylene.”

Polypropylene, a versatile plastic used in a wide range of applications from packaging and textiles to automotive parts and medical equipment, is currently imported in large quantities by Nigerian manufacturers.

Annual polypropylene import into Nigeria is estimated at $267.7 million, according to TradeMap, which peaked at $407 million in 2022.

The latest data by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) revealed that the country brought in the product valued at N99.6 billion in the first quarter (Q1) of this year, placing it at number 12 on the top 15 products imported by Nigeria from the rest of the world.

“We will satisfy the market 100 percent,” said Dangote. “This is so because these industries that are struggling and having to go and look for FX that they will not get and still have to keep stock for four or five months because it’s not easy shipping, clearing, and whatever, can buy as they need.”

He noted that the refinery is determined to do this because it will reduce the cost of importation and scramble for foreign exchange.

“We are also in the business. And our demand also as Dangote is huge. We have Dangote Packaging and are one of the biggest demand users of polypropylene,” he added.

Saudi Arabia, South Africa, South Korea, China, and Vietnam were the top importers of polypropylene into Nigeria in the first quarter of 2024, covering 90 percent of Nigeria’s demand.

Polypropylene is a versatile plastic used in a wide range of packaging applications. It’s often preferred over materials like cellophane, metal, and paper due to its flexibility, durability, and cost-effectiveness.

It is used in food and confectionery, tobacco, and clothing industries in flexible form while in rigid form, polypropylene can be found in caps, closures, pallets, crates, bottles, JIT storage solutions, and containers for products like condiments, detergents, toiletries, and yoghourt.

Polypropylene’s versatility and benefits make it a popular choice for packaging across many industries.

“The polypropylene market is growing rapidly owing to the rising demand from the packaging industry. This high demand is associated with the increasing consumption of packaged food and beverages,” said Fortune Business Insights, a research firm.

“It also helps in reducing the possibility of food deterioration and quality loss.”

Why can't you introduce the CNG before removal of subsidy, you just ruined your own govt yourself

No matter how you try to savage the economy, the bad record is there as an inconsiderate president
@Sweeetheart,

The ORIGINAL condition was that subsidy had to be removed FIRST before the CNG equipment suppliers moved in. The major investors wanted guarantees that subsidy would be removed before investing billions of USD funds in CNG refill stations and vehicle CNG conversions kits. Conversation of vehicles ALSO takes some time because you have to put different CNG kits together. I read her on NL though that Lanre Shittu motors has an assembly plant in Lagos State where FULL option CNG-BASED big buses are already being produced and these do not need to be converted.

I hope that helps you and others to understand why the former President Muhammed Buhari removed that subsidy before the current President was sworn in. This is the reason why he said subsidy is gone on the day of his inauguration. In any event, we know that subsidy is back because as of two weeks ago, the NNPCL was importing PMS at a landing cost of N1200 and selling at the lesser cost of N720 at the depots. That's a massive lose the government took to protect Nigerian folks from more hardships that would have arisen from buying gasoline at over N1200 per liter. With Dangote Petrochemical Refinery producing from last week, NNPC had to jerk up their pump price to over N800 per liter of gasoline because of the heavy depts incurred of over 6 billion USD from just providing petroleum subsidies which is NOT sustainable.

So, the CNG option is the cheaper and BEST at N230 per standard cubic feet of CNG (instead of PMS) which some car and truck owners have been enjoying since the launch of the FIRST NNPC mega CNG refill station in Lagos State on May 30 2024 based on what I have read online. By now, I expected that many CNG-based trucks and big buses would have been released by Lagos and other states to lower the cost of food items and transportation by over 60 percent like President Tinubu promised in his August 2024 Presidential speech to make things easy for those Nigerians who are finding it excruciatingly tough to buy drugs, and do NOT have the disposable income to buy food and transport themselves.

Dangote Petrochemical Refinery can then EXPORT the refined PMS to earn massive FX inflows for Nigeria thereby making the Naira stronger, so, everybody wins at the end of the day. Many Diasporan Nigerians are concerned because things are tough for people back in Nigeria and there is a shart spike in anti-immigration protests and resentments in the UK and even people are dumping Canada because of the bad economy and relocating to other better economic climes. This has led to many Diasporans paying more attention to events in Nigeria and other countries So as to start reinvesting back home. So, Nigeria has to be put back together ASAP economically, politically and socially.

HOW A ‘FRIEND’ REPORTEDLY MURDERED CHRISTIANNAH IDOWU AND BURIED HER IN HIS COMPOUND.

Cc: @PoliceNG @OgunPoliceNG

A detailed report from trusted sources:

On the 19th of August 2024, Christiannah Idowu was declared missing after her parents were contacted by her abductors using her own WhatsApp contact. The first contact with the parent was established around 8:49pm after which they sent photos of the victim in captivity to them using the WhatsApp ‘view once’ feature.

The abductors requested for a ransom fee of N1,500,000. Christiannah’s parents raised N350,000 immediately. The abductor then requested that the money be sent to a bet account through a bank deposit channel. (Info reserved for now)

After receiving the money, on the 22nd of August, the abductor requested that bank statement of the sender be forwarded to his email (withheld).

On the 23rd of August, family complied. Immediately after that, the abductor stopped communicating with the parents.

Meanwhile, on the 22nd of August, some amount was sent to the GTB account of Christiannah and the amount was then withdrawn into the wema bank account belonging to the main suspect ( Name withheld for now).

Investigation by intelligence operatives began on the 26th to unravel details of the account number.

By the 29th, intelligence operatives had confirmation from the bank that the BVN linked to the masked Betting account allegedly belonged to the account owner (name withheld for now) who also operates the Wema Bank (account no withheld for now)

Further investigation revealed that he was able to withdraw the sum of 100,000 from the betting account before agents got the bet company to lock the account.

Armed by these information, operatives began investigation into the suspect whom they observed to have a mutual relationship with Christiannah Idowu, especially judging by Instagram posts as they both commented on each other’s pages.

The crazy thing is: the same account number used to launder some amount directly from Christiannah’s account has been posted on Twitter once to “beg for a give away free money”

With all these information at hand, the operatives began to track down his cell phone activities and text messages. The cell phone tracking led them to his parent’s house, somewhere in IKORODU.

Operatives then got confirmation of his presence in the building through active tracking of his mobile device. Immediately, gallant personnel of the Nigerian army 174bn swooped in on the suspect to conduct arrest.

After the arrest, damning evidences were seen with the suspect and this includes the victim blue ITEL A56 with IMEI:35230******.

Also, in his phones are details of the money moved and also details confirming he owns the Betting account that was locked. It was registered with his phone number.

On his phone, they found an interaction between his personal email and the email address that has been interacting with the family of the deceased.

After reviewing the evidence, the suspect was then taken into custody to enable the operatives conduct further investigations.

Upon reviewing this evidence, suspect was successful taken into custody for necessary action.

On August 3, the suspect reportedly confessed to the father and the soldiers that he killed the girl and buried her in their house.

There is also a new story awaiting further confirmation that in 2018, the suspect’s ex-girlfriend was killed in same manner. Also that in 2020, the suspect’s own biological sister met the same fate, and the same thing has happened to Christiannah in 2024.

It’s really devastating. I’ll give more updates as I get them.

It is simple!

Market Cap = No. of shares in issue x Market price per share

Oando has about 12billion shares in issue. Multiply that by about N91-N94 which is the current price range on NGX.

The answer gives you the N1trillion.
Mind you, market capitalization is not fixed. It can rise today and fall tomorrow, based on the price trajectory on the NGX.

Again, the the number of shares listed by a company on the NGX is also a factor

Morbeta11:
UAE visa only available to Nigerians from 45 years with N16 million monthly closing bank balance

While noting that the foreign government was accepting visa applications from Nigerian nationals, UAE attached a list of stringent rules that must be followed.

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) authorities have mandated that Nigerian solo tourists must be 45 years or older before they can visit the Asian country, according to a new set of travel guidelines seen by Peoples Gazette.

While noting that the foreign government was accepting visa applications from Nigerian nationals, UAE attached a list of stringent rules that must be followed.

The guideline stated that Nigerian tourists who intend to travel to the country must have an account balance of at least $10,000 or N16 million to be eligible for a 30- or 60-day travel visa.

“SIx-month bank statement under passenger name, with closing balance not less than $10000 each month” and a “confirmed return ticket on Emirates Airlines” were among the explicit terms and conditions to qualify for a UAE visa.

Other conditions include “confirmed hotel booking” and a “valid residence permit of the country of residence.”

Nigeria and UAE previously locked horns in a diplomatic row that made it impossible for Nigerians to visit the latter since September 2022.

But after closed-door concessions were made, the Emiratis announced the visa ban on Nigerians was lifted.

It's an impressive move if this is true. Every territorial jurisdiction on earth has a right to protect itself against the relentless activities of criminals and wolves by raising the bar. $10,000 isn't too much for genuine Nigerian international businessmen and investors. Only serious people should be allowed into any jurisdiction like UAE which is a major international business hub. The Ghanaians also have their own minimum rules for anyone seeking to establish a business in Ghana. Period.

The Seychelles Islands also restricted the movement of Nigerians into their country in 2023 because of the very notorious criminal activities of a hard drugs cartel with origins majorly from Anambra (one of the South Eastern states of Nigeria) who relentlessly brought in illicit hard drugs such as cocaine, heroin and methamphetamine into Seychelles and got arrested week after week. Aside from being a major international tourist destination, The Seychelles has been tackling the challenge of hard drugs usage in their country which was being fueled by some foreign criminal groups.

Nigerian man sentenced to 10 years in Seychelles prison for importation of cocaine July 26, 2024

According to the police, Godson Odinah Nwezi who lives in the Perseverance district, was sentenced on two counts, 10 years for the importation of a controlled drug and three years for the same offence. The judge presiding over the case ruled that the two sentences run concurrently, so the convict will be in prison for 10 years only.

Tbh, a lot of posters on this NL Website and other social media platforms such as X, FB, YouTube, Tik Tok, etc, are clearly uninformed semi-literates and outright illiterates! Some are just basically incels who engage in misogyny, post trashy fake news and hate speech randomly because they are bitter and have problems with finding girls to like them. The other more dangerous ones are basically part of the secessionist ipob online troll farms run by male and female members located around foreign countries such as Italy, South Africa, Finland, UK, U.S.A, etc, that the BBC's Global Disinformation Team EXPOSED in a 2022 exclusive detailed investigative video that I have posted earlier on NL showing that they are responsible for the spread of massive online disinformation, online hate speech, and the issuing of many targeted death threat videos [calling for the killing of some innocent people in the East of Nigeria which were eventually carried out] by their male and female members in order to destabilize Nigeria through their criminal enterprise. There's a need more than ever before to collaborate with the governments of those countries where these criminals operating many online troll farms [based on the British Broadcasting Corporation's Global Disinformation Team 2022 video exposing ipob] are located to disrupt their activities and bring all of them to justice for deliberately spreading fake news and other forms of disinformation using online social media.

5 stories make a lot of difference because even if they ask you to mention skyscrapers with 16 floors and above I'm sure you won't mention Nestoil tower . Helipad is just aesthetics the same way Famfa has basement . The most important features in skyscrapers is the number of floors . Period ! No more, no less .
Do you understand math at all ?

Okonjo Iweala is a great woman but she's Anioma but not Igbo .

You're wrong about Alakija being Downstream only because she's into upstream as well with oil wells and also downstream has about 55 to 60 percent stake in oil industry compared to about 30 to 35 percent of upstream . I just want to educate your ignorant azz .

I will like to see the Forbes or whatever list that name Uju as 6th most powerful woman in oil and gas in the world .

[b]Also, Alakija is top 100 most powerful woman in the world by Forbes, Amy Jadesimi is top 20 young women in oil and gas in Africa and Bola Shagaya is a great woman too in oil and gas.

I repeat,no one in Igbo lineage, whether man or woman is richer than Alakija.

And since this post is about Lagos heritage, I dare say that Lagos has been a great city before Nigeria amalgamation or Igbo immigration, whatever any other ethnic group beside the Yorubas did or are doing in Lagos is just a plus.
I'm really impressed with the way you rebutted that asinine poster's FALSEHOODS about Mrs Folorunso Alakija 20-storey skyscraper on Ikoyi Island and the LIE that idiot posted about Mrs Folorunso Alakija not being in the upstream sector in the bolded texts right above. These semi-literate creeps have NO moral integrity at all. They just tell LIES and fabricate historical events with impunity! No doubt that boy is a member of that criminal Ipob secessionist enterprise which the British Broadcasting Corporation's Global Disinformation Team exposed just two years ago as being responsible for operating several troll farms from many countries abroad while spreading disinformation and hate speech on multiple websites and social media platforms from Italy, Canada, South Africa, Unites States, UK, etc.

Indeed, Mrs. Folorunso Alakija is in the upstream and is the FIRST business woman (and a former banker at IMB Plaza in Victoria Island were she had to leave to take care of her young children back in the early 1980s) to bid for deep offshore oil blocks back using Famfa as a vehicle back in the early 1990s. I still have the newspaper reports of that deep offshore oil bid in the Guardian in 1993. Mike Adenuga and his Consolidated Oil (Conoil), Alhaji Indimi's oil company and the Ijaw founder of Moni Pulo were the first few folks to strike crude oil in the deep offshore (but some others who won their oil block bids did not strike commercial quantities of crude oil and gas back then because was a very risky venture because of the use of lower the techologies for oil prospecting). The Ibadan-born, Texas-based Nigerian-American oil and gas billionaire Kase Lawal was one of those who didn't strike commercially sufficient crude oil and gas back then.

But as of today, with more sophisticated 3D-imaging, finding oil and gas has become relatively easy.
