Agriculture › Re: The Difference And Similarities Between Plantain And Banana Farming by Konquest: 7:19pm On Jan 11, 2024
Earthstorms:
You are wrong in some of the things you said in your video.

There are major difference between plantain and banana that you did not also talk about.

Banana bears more suckers than plantain, you said plantain bears more suckers. Infact one of the ways to identify a banana stand in the wild is to look at how crowded the stands are. Banana stands become more crowded than plantain stands if suckers are not removed.

2. Bananas are more weedy than plantain, so banana compete more with weeds than plantain. If you leave a plantain farm unattended, weeds will destroy the farm and the numbers of plantain in the farm will reduce drastically. However, if you leave a banana farm unattended, it will outcompete weeds and continue to thrive in large numbers, however the numbers of suckers per stand will increase so much that the bunch yield per sucker becomes very small due to competition between the banana plants.

3. When left unattended, Bananas do not die out while plantains die out after a few years.

4. Banana is easier to grow in places with high weed pressure when compared to plantain.

There are bananas I stopped maintaining 6 years because the variety is not ok for me, they are still in the farm doing well without any care, whereas my plantains needs active weed management to survive.

5. Plantain leaves and leaf stalk are yellowish green while banana leaves and leaf stalk are whitish green. This is the easiest way to distinguish plantain from banana if you know what to look for.

6. You can use unripe banana for many of the things that you use plantain for. You can turn it into banana chips just like plantain chips, you can also turn it into banana flour just like plantain flour.
Deep insights.

Relocate to delta state. I can give you free land to farm.

See the electric fence Energizer I bought from china. Each one can power 40 km of electric fence.

It will power the fence with 12,000 volts of electricity, cows can not cross it.

It will be powered by solar with battery backup. I plan to use it to protect my farm from cows and thieves that are stealing my plantain.
That's an awesome and innovative invention from China.

The classic book "Trading in the Zone" by the trading veteran Mark Douglas, is still very relevant here as well. I first read the book in the mid-2000s and it can be used to complement any video or training on trading psychology.

My God...I remember when I used to work In the Diamond bank now Access bank in 2013 as a full staff marketer....I was bashed because of low figures, disgraced during MPR, talked down on my colleagues, my salary was poor and I felt my future was bleak. It was a long struggle till I left for keystone bank and the harassment to meet deposit and risk asset continued...Imagine being told to raise 400m in 6month
I was always responding to queries stating why i havent met 60percent of my target..this affected me in many ways and I still have PTSD. Omo thank God....My Jehova came thru and gave me a good oil and gas offer that disgraced my enemies...They thought they had won by kicking me out..little did they know God had a better plan. Bank job is not for the weak!!!..I totally understand her frustration. cry
The marketing staff in the banking sector are indeed going through a lot of enervating experiences while trying to meet their targets!
Some of the females among them end up having affairs with potential bank clients just so as to meet up with their targets.

Gosh! She obviously took her life because of the LOW bank target figures as can be seen from the suicide note.

She didn't have to take her life tbh. There are folks who have made it in life by sharing their pains and fears with others, then they intentionally focussed on doing lucrative jobs that others don't like to do and they have leveraged on that to become successful millionaire entrepreneurs as of today.

The banking sector can indeed be very enervating especially for the marketing staff of those banks.

Pallazzo:
Hello Guys,

I opened this thread for those that want to travel to The Gambia, do business (including import and export), or just travel for vacation/tour.

The Gambia is a small West African Country with roughly around 2million people in population. With virtually no natural resources, The country depends 'almost' on Tourists, Tasks, and Foreign intervention to survive.

Gambia enjoys almost 24 hours electricity in most of the towns, clean steady/healthy tap running water, with lots of Foreigners in the Country.

I happened to tour many sites in the country, they have beautiful hotels. Most of their hotels are beach hotels like... Kairaba Beach Hotel, Senegambia beach Hotel, Kalimba Beach hotel etc.

There are many Nigerians there, and Nigerians export items like bitter kola, alcohols, bitter drinks, food items, etc... On return, they import Fish from there. The Gambia has fish, and they're cheap there.

Many Nigerian students are there as well schooling and working.

Let me stop here. In case anyone want to go for vacation or want to learn something from The Gambia, drop your questions and I'll answer here. Please, all questions and answers will be here on this thread, not PM.

Business › Re: Do You Ever Feel Guilty Spending Lavishly Knowing Many Are Poor by Konquest: 9:57pm On Jan 10, 2024
tosinhtml:
Extremely NOT.

I used to be that person that over show poor people kindness, but recently I have realised that poor people see what you have and believe you don't deserve it, they look at you & ask themselves why they are not in your position. Anytime someone notices my freehandedness in giving out money, they always try to come up with issues from the family that is of no business of mine just to syphon money out of me.

Today their mother has a broken leg, tomorrow their sister is pregnant but doesn't have money to pay for hospital bills, next tomorrow their Dad is in the hospital and needs 250k for surgery. Their needs are endless.

I still have an open hand to giving to the poor but strategically, I do it to buy loyalty now because the only thing the Nigerian system understands is MONEY.

During Xenophobia retaliation attacks in Jakande Lekki, I saw poor people looting out franchised Shop Rite and their usual tone & consensus was that the Rich owns the place, they buy from there. Why should they be able to purchase those things while we are not able to do the same. I saw old women in their 50s, Men, Ladies & other able bodied men loot electronics and goods from honest people's market with an excuse that they are poor. Random big cars on the road in Jakande were attacked & the excuse was that they are rich, they are the ones stealing Nigerians money.

The poor lives on survival instinct, I can never feel guilty for enjoying the riches God gave me & also from the work I did.

Let them go & work!
Gosh! That's really pathetic of those mentally poor people males and females who looted the shopping mall. If they habor such resentments towards successful and rich folks, how can they ever be rich mentally and physically?

Such an asinine behavior for poor people to blame others for their own actions and inactions when it comes to wealth generation and financial independence.
Business › Re: How To Prevent Employee Fraud/ Theft: 22 Tips by Konquest: 8:57pm On Jan 10, 2024
Businesstools:
1. Ensure that no individual is responsible for processing a transaction from start to finish. E.g. The person who authorizes the issue of inventory should not be the storekeeper.

2. Restrict access to your company’s physical and financial assets, including financial records to authorized persons only.

3. Verify your assets (inventory, cash, equipments, etc) regularly to ensure that what is recorded in the books is actually on ground.

4. Before hiring, do a pre-employment background check on all prospective employees. Call their former employers and ask questions about their character and why they left.

5. Develop and implement policies to determine how financial transactions are initiated, authorized and reviewed.

6. Invite external auditors to review your business accounts, transactions, and procedures, at least once in a year.

7. Encourage your employees to report any incident of theft or fraud directly to you, and promise to reward them if they do.

8. Do not take any case of fraud lightly. Investigate properly and discipline defaulters to pass a message that you have zero tolerance for fraud.

9. Do not allow employees to visit the business premises after working hours. If you can afford it, install CCTV cameras in all high risk areas.

10. Fraud perpetrators usually display behavioral traits that can indicate intention to commit fraud. Observing your employees closely can help you identify potential fraud risk.

11. If you notice unexplained drop in sales, rotate the attendant. If sales improve, it could be a sign that fraud has been ongoing. Carry-out a thorough investigation.

12. An increase in sales when a key employee proceeds on leave could be a sign of fraud. For this reason, beware of any staff who doesn’t like going on vacation.

13. Monitor employees who appear to live beyond their income. Also, those into gambling & drugs. These are extravagant lifestyles & you can’t afford to be funding them.

14. Some employees use their employers’ business for their own personal business. For instance, they bring in their own stock, similar to their employers’ to sell. Watch out!

15. Report loss/ theft of your check books/ debit cards immediately. This will enable the bank block payments or other transactions on the missing card/ check numbers.

16. Respect and treat your employees well. If you do, only a person without conscience will steal from you or conceive evil against you or your business.

17. Set up an anonymous way for your employees to alert you of any concerns related to potential fraud within your company. Take these alerts seriously.

18. Avoid using multiple bank accounts for your business. It makes it difficult for you to detect inappropriate movement of funds.

19. When your accountant insists on handling tasks that other departments or individual is responsible for e.g. purchasing, it could be a sign of fraud.

20. If your accountant continually misplace or misfile important documents, e.g. payroll records, deposit records, receipts etc., it could be an indication of fraud.

21. If deposits are frequently lower than expected. You should compare sales receipts with amounts deposited into the bank account and query any differences.

22. Be on alert if your accountant continuously looks for excuses why not to follow the company’s established accounting or administrative procedures.
Impressive tips.

It is good you know it is not easy to remain after studies in the US. That said, no company will issue you a work visa based on truck driving. Your best aim is to marry an American, most likely an African American, so you can obtain Green Card status (permanent residency). Also, authorities don't recognise certain skills certifications obtained from certain developing countries. If that were possible, the US would have listed Nigeria alongside South Africa in visa classes for certain jobs.

I checked Reddit/MBA, the labour market is dealing with foreigners really bad. Indians don hear am after collecting hooge loans. That is the advantage our people, especially men, have: there is an existing black population to mingle with and marry. Like this now, if I want to school in the US, I would target Atlanta where rumours have it that black women are in dire need of single and heterosexual black men to date and marry.

Green card in the bag grin grin
Better to stay off those shawties on the southside of Atlanta.

Why is Onome (Matse's) cousin moving to Israel at this time of military tensions in the Middle East?

She should just stay off anywhere near the southern parts of Israel because it's closer to Gaza though. Anything can still happen there because the hyped Israeli defense system failed for several hours when those criminals invaded several communities in the southern parts of Israel on October 7, 2023.

I know folks who have relocated from the Middle East back to the U.S. because spontaneous violence can erupt in that region and you get trapped in a foreign country. Just thinking out loud.
