FALSE! Are you even current about the real events happening in Ghana and online at all? This is just a normal politically correct move by that Ghananian government official. The Ghananian government officials are NOT impressed with that guy (who started off selling cassettes in Ghana in 1995) and his attitude of referring to himself illegally as HRM when he is NOT even from a royal family in his village.

In reality, millions of Ghananians on the street level are NOT happy with the many crimes committed in Ghana over the last 15 years by people from the East of Nigeria. Recently, a bank armed robbery and money counterfeiting syndicate were arrested in Ghana from the same area of the East of Nigeria. These coincided with this Eze issue and this is why the Ghananians are not happy with Ibos.

The capital punishment in India, South Africa, Nigeria, Ghana, Ethiopia, and indeed many countries of the world would eradicate these hard drugs trafficking crimes. Those countries of the world that do NOT have the death penalty are inadvertently responsible for allowing these crimes to persist.

An economically advanced city-state such as Singapore has a death penalty in place and they are better for it as of today. A boy called Tochi from the East of Nigeria was executed in Singapore for that same crime back in the 2010s, but Singapore did NOT listen to appeals from Nigeria to free him. Period.

I'm aware that some prominent Ibos (such as Orji Uzor-Kalu) have spoken against the use of this illegal Eze Ibo concept outside Iboland for more than 20 years now yet, these guys continue to proliferate illegally.

The simple use of "Chairman or President General" of Ibos in Kano or whatever location they are in around the world is okay but they like to engage in needless show offs. The IRRESPONSIBLE illegal use of the title HRM by these impostors (who also appoint other so-called sub-Ezes in different LGAs of the states they live in) when they are NOT from royal families even in their villages East of Nigeria.

The official Kings of the ALL the over 250 distinct ethnic groups in the non-Ibo states all over Nigeria from the Obongs, to the Obas in the ENTIRE Yorubaland (from Nigeria, Benin Republic and Togo), the Amanyanabos, to the Sarkis, etc, MUST ensure that they do NOT have anyone calling himself an Eze with the HRM title again. Lagos State especially MUST enforce this because it's there that these things have been bastardized the one calling himself an Eze Ibo of Ajao Estate, illegally using the title HRM which is ONLY reserved for people from REAL royal families worldwide.

The controversial Igbo king who has been living in Ghana for over 20 years and is married to a Ghanaian woman made headlines recently after buying plots of land to build a hospital and Igbo village in Ghana.

Rumors claimed he went into hiding after the news spread, but he’s now back in public — seen confidently strolling the streets of Ghana to loud cheers and celebration from his Ghanian admirers.

The dude was eventully arrested as indicated in the video RIGHT BELOW after this event in the video where he was spraying money on people. He had absolutely NO right to illegally use the title HRM when he isn't even from a royal family in his village. Ghananians were further infuriated by this incident because of the many cases of back-to-back crimes linked to many arrested S/E people in Ghana for years now.

You are spreading disinformation and defaming folks of Yoruba descent. The Cyber Crime Law has recently been signed to tackle online and offline disinformation.

First off, the man was finally arrested in Ghana after that open money spraying in public as seen in just one out of the many videos right BELOW.

A lot of Ghananians and many Nigerians (out of the over 250 ethnic groups of Nigeria) living in Ghana such as the Yorubas, Bini-Edos, Ijaws, Efiks, Hausas, etc, (including Ibos made videos to criticize that man who illegally used the title HRM when he is NOT even from a royal family in his village.
The Yorubas have lived peacefully and had contact with Ghana for over 400 yeàrs with some ancestral links with the Ga Adangbe people of Accra and contiguous environs.

It should be condemned in all ramification and it is definately in bad taste with a tribal bias.

All this division started after Peter Obi won the Presidential Elections in Lagos !

Haba ! I am a Yoruba Lagosian, over 80% of my friends are Igbo's and we never lived like this in Lagos State.

3/4 of the commercial activities and SMEs in Lagos as at today is promoted by the Igbo's being commerce centred. We lived as brothers through decades.

Let Government know that the seeds we sow today will germinate for lifetime.

The last LG Elections also showed same pattern with threats and bully of the S/E people with tearing of LP posters in Amuwo Odofin.

We are not like this in Lagos and politicians should not divide us !
First off, you are posting disinformation here with your innuendos and political correctness. Your so-called estimate of 3/4 commerce in Lagos State adduced to those people is subjective and has NO basis. Several ethnic groups from the Yorubas, to the Hausas, to the Edos, etc, quietly engage in interstate and intrastate commerce in Lagos without pomposities or exaggerations from the several markets around Lagos State and the entire Yorubaland in both wholesale and retail so what are you on about falsely claiming that 75% of commerce is done by just one tribe.

Second, that change of street names was done several months ago in 2024 by the local authorities NOT the state Government and I remember the story hit the NL front page. So this OP posted a recycled story from last year! The Local Governments in Nigeria have the constitutional right to change the names of streets in their domains at ANY time as that is within their purview. This has absolutely NOTHING to do with Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu. I can even see Daddy Showkey's name among the freshly renamed streets. Daddy Showkey is from Delta State and an Isoko by ethnicity and I saw a Yoruba street name that was renamed from the old to the new street in the screenshot.

People must be guided about bringing up primordial sentiments like this to stir up needless problems in the public domain. The newly signed Cyber Crime Law is very active so ignorance of the law is NOT an excuse. Period.
PoliticsRe: Gov Diri’s Defection To APC Non-Negotiable, Sacrosanct - Gov’s Aide by Konquest: 10:41pm On Jul 16, 2025
TimeManager:
The Technical Adviser to the Bayelsa State Governor on Print Media and Public Affairs, Hon. Wisdom Oniekpar Ikuli, has appealed to political stakeholders to support the defection of Senator Douye Diri, from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Hon. Ikuli, the convener of Concerned Bayelsa Stakeholders, a group comprising indigenes and non-indigenes resident in the state, made the appeal during a world press conference in Yenagoa, on Tuesday.

According to Ikuli, there is urgent need for Bayelsa to join the APC, the party in power, because most of the characters left in the PDP are people who conspired to deny Bayelsa State and indeed the entire Ijaw Nation, a second term at the Presidency in 2015.

Explaining further, he said there are concluded arrangements to hide under the excuse of crisis and countless court cases in PDP at different levels to work to nullify the nomination of all candidates that will emerge under the party platform.

Bayelsa State, he said, is presently standing alone as the only PDP state in the whole of South South, noting that the the greatest challenge is the hijack of the PDP by few individuals who have set up traps for Bayelsa citizens in 2027, particularly those who intend to fly the flag of the PDP.

He assured Bayelsa citizens that in the next few days, the concerned Bayelsa stakeholders will begin a daily Rally on the streets of Yenagoa to prevail on the governor to consider his defection to the APC, stressing that his move is non-negotiable and Sacrosanct.

Parts of his address read: “our fathers, High Chief Harold Dappa-Biriye and Chief (Sen.) Dr Melford Obiene Okilo admonished the Ijaw Nation to always align with the government at the centre largely due to our distance from the centre and our difficult terrain in order to attract development to our area.

“For instance, our adherence to their advice and our alignment with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) that was the government at the centre helped Bayelsa State and the Ijaw Nation to produce the Vice President and later, President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of this country in the person of President Goodluck Jonathan.

“Sadly, today Bayelsans and Ijaws in general are not among first 40 Nigerians from the Offices of the President, Vice President and Services Chiefs. Ijaws have been relegated and rendered politically and economically redundant and impotent because we are not with the government at the centre.

“Ironically, Ijaws who are the majority in terms of population in the geographic Niger Delta area (South South) and the fourth largest tribe in the country, Ijaw Nation that contribute well over 65% of the oil and gas wealth that are used to run the affairs of the country have been rendered powerless because of our non-alignment with the ruling party.

“Again, there is a power sharing and rotation system between the North and South. The North having done their complete eight years under late President Muhammadu Buhari is supposed to support the South to complete her own eight years under incumbent President Bola Ahmed Tinubu who is working round the clock to strengthen the South.

“The President has graciously appointed illustrious sons and daughters of Ijaw Nation and Bayelsa State in particular into key offices.

“We appreciate his appointment of Senator Heineken Lokpobiri as Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Oil), Chief Samuel Ogbuku as MD of NDDC, Chief Ebitimi Amgbare as MD of NDDBA and Hon. Preye Aganaba as the Executive Director of Human Resources of South South Development Commission (SSDC).

“We also thank President Tinubu for approving Federal Government take over of the Second Phase of the Nembe-Brass Road that will help to link the Ocean where the vast wealth of Bayelsa State is.

“It is based on the above that we unanimously appeal to the Governor to defect to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to show Southern Solidarity with other Southern Governors who are with Mr. President.

“But as we move forward, one of the greatest priorities in the alliance with the centre should be the actualization of the Agge Seaport that will help to boost the state economy and also bring about unimaginable transformation and prosperity.”

https://tribuneonlineng.com/diris-defection-to-apc-non-negotiable-sacrosanct-govs-aide/
For the information of these random and highly uninformed posters right on this thread engaging in disinformation and historical revisionism, the former President Goodluck Jonathan had an agreement NOT to go for a 2nd-term in 2015 as President with the PDP power brokers after Yar'Adua passed on and it was widely circulated in the credible online and offline media outlets indicating that Goodluck Jonathan said he was NOT going to recontest after his 1st full tenure as President ended but he reneged. .

His failure to honor that political agreement led to many far-Northern Nigeria and Middle Belt PDP members leaving that political party for the APC. Therefore, contrary to the total B.S. that poster on page 1 of this thread wrote, the current President Bola Tinubu of Nigeria or other Southern Nigeria political members of the APC (or any other political party) NEVER betrayed Goodluck Jonathan in 2015 by voting against him. Period.

Afrobeats singer Seun Kuti has reacted to the recent death of former Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari, offering sharp criticism and deeper reflection on the state of leadership in the country.

In a viral video, Seun questioned why many Nigerians celebrated Buhari’s passing, describing such reactions as misguided. He argued that real justice would have involved holding the former leader accountable while he was alive not merely rejoicing over his death.

The outspoken son of music legend Fela Kuti also revealed what he described as a shocking misuse of public funds. According to Seun, the Nigerian government allegedly spent a massive sum monthly on Buhari’s medical care in the United Kingdom while millions of Nigerians suffered from a broken healthcare system.

He condemned the priorities of a country that allowed a former president to live in foreign luxury while average citizens struggled for basic care. Seun expressed frustration that taxpayer money supported elite medical treatment abroad, yet failed to improve the system at home.

Seun’s comments added another layer to the public discourse, which has remained sharply divided since the announcement of Buhari’s death. While some citizens expressed relief, others urged restraint and respect.

By calling attention to injustice, inequality, and systemic failure, Seun Kuti continues the activist legacy of his father, using his platform to demand accountability in both life and leadership.

The post highlights Nigeria's fluctuating foreign exchange reserves, dropping from $14.59 billion in 2021 to $3.99 billion in 2023, then surging to $23.11 billion in 2024, before a reported $5.96 billion inflow in May 2025, reflecting volatile economic policies and market reforms, including the Central Bank of Nigeria's recent shift to automate FX trades starting December 2024 to boost transparency.

Confusion in the data presentation stems from unclear differentiation between annual reserves and monthly inflows, as May 2025's $5.96 billion represents a 62% month-on-month surge rather than the total reserve, aligning with a Q1 2025 net inflow of $15.20 billion reported by Nairametrics, suggesting a rebound driven by investor confidence and diaspora remittances.

Historical context reveals Nigeria's reserves hit a peak of $62.1 billion in September 2008 per CEIC data, yet recent economic forecasts from PwC warn of potential 2025 challenges like naira pressure and GDP growth decline due to global trade tensions, challenging optimistic projections like the $45 billion reserve target for December 2025.

PoliticsRe: Dangote Files Paperwork To Build Nigeria’s Biggest Seaport In Ogun, LNG Terminal by Konquest: 1:57am On Jul 15, 2025
MCentral:
Africa’s richest man Aliko Dangote has filed paperwork to begin construction of a Deep seaport near his fertilizer and oil refinery plants to make it easier to export goods — including liquefied natural gas — and support the rapid growth of his industrial empire, Bloomberg reported.

Dangote plans “to build the biggest, deepest port in Nigeria,” took wings after he sent in the paperwork for permission in late June, he said in an interview.

The proposed Atlantic seaport in Olokola, Ogun state, lies about 100 kilometers (62 miles) by road from the billionaire’s fertilizer plant and petrochemicals refinery in Lagos. Dangote currently exports urea and fertilizer through an on-site jetty he built, that also receives heavy equipment for the refinery.

Once completed, the port will link the conglomerate’s logistics and export operations and rival facilities in Lagos, Nigeria’s commercial capital, including the Chinese-funded Lekki Deep Sea Port opened in 2023.

Lekki Deep Seaport currently has a capacity of 1.2 million TEUs (twenty-foot equivalent units) per year, which is planned to be expanded to handle 2.7 million TEUs annually.

It can accommodate vessels with a capacity of up to 18,000 TEUs, including container ships, bulk carriers, and oil tankers.

“It’s not that we want to do everything by ourselves, but I think doing this will encourage other entrepreneurs to come into it,” he said.

Dangote also plans to export liquefied gas from Lagos, a project that will involve constructing pipelines from Nigeria’s oil-rich Niger Delta., vice-president of the group Devakumar Edwin said in another interview.

“We want to do a major project to bring more gas than what NLNG is doing today,” he said, referring to Nigeria LNG Ltd., a joint-venture between the government, Shell Plc, Eni and TotalEnergies SA, which is currently the continent’s largest exporter of LNG.

“We know where there is a lot of gas, so run a pipeline all through and then bring it to the shore.”

Dangote already sources natural gas from the Niger Delta to supply his fertilizer plant, where it’s used as feedstock to produce hydrogen for ammonia — a key component in the production of the crop nutrient.

https://moneycentral.com.ng/companies/article/dangote-files-paperwork-to-build-nigerias-biggest-deep-seaport-in-ogun-lng-terminal/I
That's an impressive move.

The Olokola Deep Sea Port area straddles both Ogun and Ondo States and with Ondo State being an oil and gas producing state, which is also contiguous to Delta State, the logistics of haulage for exports will be easier for FX earnings.

This is the second time you are posting this your support for Omoyele Sowore (who self-identified himself in a video I saw late last year as an Ijaw) on this thread page. Omoyele Sowere is NOT a credible option because he is far worse than those he criticizes.

He constantly uses his Sahara Reporters online platform to spread toxic disinformation and unverified news reports which he has done multiple times this year alone.

This is NOT the Omoyele we used to know back when he was the Student Union President of Unilag and a pro-democracy activist. His Sahara Reporters was a credible sources of investigative reports back from the 2000s but from 2019, I started noticing scewed repotage in SR and he started making outlandish comments. I initially thought it had to do with the pain from the loss of his younger brother who was kidnapped in Edo State and that he needed therapy.

For those of us who are VERY discerning of international geopolitical events, Omoyele has lost the vibe and is NOT a credible Presidential material for folks living in Nigeria. He has to even start from the local political echelons such as a Sate House of Reps member before transitioning to Federal House of Reps member or a Senator, etc, before he can be taken seriously for a Presidential role. He's ONLY made matters worse for his image with the lies and disinformation his news outlet gives out just the same way the very notorious People's Gazette does with fabricated news reports and headlines that have NO bearing with the body of some of their articles.

If this is how the Bendel State (now Edo State-born) iconic investigative journalist 'Dele Giwa and co-founder of Newswatch Magazine practiced journalism back in the 1980s before he lost his life from that horrendous parcel bomb explosion at his off Allen Avenue residence in 1986, we would NEVER have had a benchmark or standards for investigative journalism reportage from Nigeria. This is why I NEVER missed reading the Newswatch Magazine and 'Dele Giwa's columns when he was alive.
