TravelLagos, Nigeria: The 3rd Worst Cities To Drive by Koolking(op): 10:50am On Sep 28, 2017
Kfzteile24 conducted a study to discover which are the best and worst cities for driving, with the aim of enriching the debate around modern mobility and encouraging cities to learn from each other’s positive urban engagements and legislation.

The study examined several factors; congestion levels, public transport options, average cost of parking, cost of fuel, average speeds, levels of air pollution, accidents and fatalities, road quality and the frequency/perception of road rage. Any traffic delays or congestion caused by temporary construction work was not taken into account for this study. Once all factors were researched for 100 cities, a final score was calculated for each.

Poor urban planning or a lack of civil education can make driving the most stressful experience of somebody’s day.” commented Thomas Kloubert, CMO of kfzteile24. “We hope that this study will act as a catalyst for those cities in the negative end of the ranking to invest in safer, cleaner and more efficient roads, and consider how methods adopted by higher scoring cities can be utilised in their own locations.”

Best and Worst Cities to Drive based data analysis, noting the congestion level and average speed from the airport to downtown for each:

Here are the 10 worst city on the globe with cranky motorists:

1. Kolkata, India: 69% congestion, 11.20 mph average speed
2. Karachi, Pakistan: 59% congestion, 11.20 mph average speed
3. Lagos, Nigeria: 60% congestion, 10.70 mph average speed
4. Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia: 65% congestion, 21.80 mph average speed
5. Mumbai, India: 67% congestion, 8.10 mph average speed
6. Bangalore, India: 64% congestion, 18.70 mph average speed
7. Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam: 64% congestion, 14.90 mph average speed
8. Bogota, Colombia: 48% congestion, 12.50 mph average speed
9. Mexico City, Mexico: 66% congestion, 17.50 mph average speed
10. Istanbul, Turkey: 49% congestion, 11.80 mph average speed

Here are the 10 best cities in which to drive

1. Dusseldorf, Germany: 20% congestion, 21.20 mph average speed
2. Dubai, UAE: 26% congestion, 31.70 mph average speed

eyeview:
Am going to answer in the most objective manner.
Igbos are marginalized by govt in that the fed govt deploys our common resources to other beloved regions while the south east does theirs by themselves.
For eg, in my village in the south east,we had electricity around 1998. We raised money overtime to buy our transormers after which pledges and donations were raised to run electric cables across the kindreds.
Its too numerous and scattered across the south east.
You have wealthy individuals or groups contracting civil engineering firms to tar their own roads.
You are aware of imo airport. Do you know that the late governor Sam Mbakwe of Imo opened a purse where he was constantly calling on natives to donate as "no amount was too small for the imo airport". School kids donated their lunch monies. But this is not so with most other airports in the north or west where the govts funded the projects wholly.
Every other region in the East, South even the west go through the same self-assessment and self-effort at driving tangible development. It's the failure of leaders of the region. No sane business man wants to invest in a region shrouded in restiveness. There's absolutely no guarantee of investment. Selfishness and avarice of the leaders of the region is the bane of development of that region. If there's anything like marginalisation, the leaders should be held accountable not the central govt as propagated by insidious few. You did mention of resources and wealthy individuals, if these resources are allowed to be unselfishly harnessed and utilised, these regions can gain global recognition without recourse to the centre. Lagos has tried and it's working. Pls let stop blaming the centre for our backwardness but our so called state, local and community leaders who crave nothing but personal aggrandisement.

The proscription order was gazetted by the Federal Government on Thursday. So, there is no going back on our position that the organisation remains illegal.

Whether IPOB is registered abroad or anywhere is immaterial. The most important thing we have achieved is that the terrorist group can no longer operate in this country.

The gazette is the climax of the presidential proclamation and the decision of the court on it.

Any Nigerian or group associating with IPOB is doing so at a greater risk.”

Struck down but not destroyed. Show me a Nation which recovered as quickly as the Igbos after 3 years of attempted genocide... Igbos had to start afresh, forfeiting properties acquired all over the country while the ones back at home were destroyed... But today, it has been restored in thousand folds.
So tell me, why wouldn't they be jealous??
If the bold is a fact and the igbolands are better developed Nigeria, so, where is the much-touted marginalisation coming from?

History will be made of them.. were they forced to stand-in for the felon at gun point?

Pro-ipobs are jokes. their bark is worst that their bite. The same way they were beating their chests that any attempt to arrest kanu, the zoo will burn. Where are they now after a handful of Nigerian soldiers were testing their microphone to commence the music? None of them was anywhere near to dance.

The 3 sureties will be arrested if kanu failed to appear from his hole, nothing will happen. Pro-ipobs are world record comedians.

'Funded in France' is not the same thing as 'funded by France'. The Minister of Information was quoted out of context by social media.
Thanks for rephrasing the release for clarity sake.

That's the point Nigerians - I guess ProBiafrans refused to acknowledge. Most commentators on Nairaland are not interested in objective arguments, their opinions are clouded by personal quest for 'Likes'. They just want to comments and be liked.

FG was crystal clear on the press release, but self-righteous Nigerians are heating up the issue out of context. Sad!

No one ever fight the government and win. If some of my Igbo brothers exert the same energy in pursuing Biafra mirage in making Nigeria works, Nigeria will work. They rather believe in 'divide and rule' and badmouth the country that would have been their first neighbor if biafra was to be considered.

There is no iota of patrotism in them. We seriously need to change our orientation from the North to South to West and East

Nigeria has come a long way. It is highly placed in the committee of nations. Nigerian military is highly trained and ranked among the best in the world. It has made giant strides in African peace missions.

Leave sentiments for once and this attitude of finding nothing good in your country. Learn to applaud and encourage when it's well deserved.

Let free our country from our own shackles.

RomanceRe: I Am 30yrs, Earn 35k A Month And Will Marry A Student In A Months Time. by Koolking(m): 12:54pm On Sep 07, 2017
donpata:
I was moved to write this epistle cos of the fp topic of marrying someone who earns 35k yesterday. I have seen such questions on NL but I normally ignore them. Someone even asked if a lady can marry someone who earns 100k embarassed. I normally laugh at the comments and move on. I laughed at the sheer ignorance of many commenters, and the foolish statements many made. I decided to assume that 70% of the people who commented are either undergraduates still studying who have a big Disney picture of the sweet employment awaiting them or some who have not really known what is out there in the world. The remaining 20% earn well probably and so feel life should be like that for everyone. The remaining 10% commenters are those who really see life as it is in reality – DIFFERENT STROKES FOR DIFFERENT FOLKS. Now am gonna be objective and subjective at the same time. And let me warn you – IT’S LONG tongue

I CAN TRULY GO ON AND ON BUT CALLING SOMEONE A FOOL AS MANY DID ON THAT THREAD YESTERDAY IS QUITE ILLOGICAL. My dad married at 24. My mum was 19 then. Both are now degree holders. Things have changed and that’s why I am marrying at 30. I don’t want to clock 50 and yet taking my first child to write Common Entrance. If you like say I am rushing.
Firstly, I love my fiancée die. 2ndly, I am a Christian and my bodily desires are building up strongly. Marriage is the way out. 3rdly, I love kids. Since they are an inheritance, I can’t wait to have one as God wills. Lastly, I wanna retire in peace. Not old man using my pension to train undergraduates and Jambites.
Finally, I am not complacent with where I am. I have handled a few millions before but this is where I am now. I wanna go for my phd and I hope to reestablish myself in business. But I can’t again let my social life suffer cos of where I am today. I have a job now; low paying as it is, I know if well managed, I will make it out. Even if I remain in the employ of the State Govt, I cant earn 35k forever. I am young and will keep moving on.
If you are real on your mission, you are brave - In fact, one of the most bravest dudes I have come across. I have so much respect for your person and believe. I must tell you, you are extraordinarily blessed with a woman who completes you.

Everything works for good to those who believe. Since you have determined, you will excel.

All the best bro

Bold statement is extremely contestable. Media in the civilized continents are not in the forefront of making corrupt dealings in high places the mainstream reporting. In African continents, corrupt is loud and it's more of a political gimmicks by political opponents.
TravelRe: 5 Thought-provoking Facts About Africa by Koolking(m):
Opinionated:
Africa is Home to the Only Nation in the World to Voluntarily Abandon Its Nuclear Weapon Program

South Africa is the only country in the world to voluntarily abandon its nuclear weapon program. The reason the then president of South Africa, F.W. de Klerk, gave for dismantling the nation’s nuclear weapons was that he saw no value of nuclear weapons in fighting wars, and the prospect of using them against neighbouring countries was too appalling for him to consider.

Africa is a Continent of Extremes

Africa is considered a continent of extremes. It is a continent that’s very rich in mineral and agricultural wealth, but at the same time considered the world’s poorest continent, with many of its people suffering poverty and sicknesses. The continent is also extremely large, as well as extremely dry, with an extremely young population, so young that over half of the continent is under the age of 25.
Above facts are extremely thought-provoking. I respect Ex-President De Klerk for such novelty feat. He deserves world peace prize.
