I would advise you not to be too concerned about that but immediately your app is approved, you can track the return and begin necessary preps. Congrats once again. phf2be: Congratulations to everyone who has moved in one right direction or the other. Please how do I know when my passport arrives Accra VO post PPR? The tracking information only shows that processed passport was transferred to Accra on yy date. |

The bolded is correct. If you have the old license and intend to renew, a fresh process of a license will be done for you and the date of the first issue will be the date your new license was produced. Note that you will go through driving school and all the other process. When requesting for Driving records, references are made from the date of the first issue. Newmum0615: Thanks a lot for this. I can't believe I never saw that part of 'Date of first issue before' on my license before. vcole: As regards this driver's license issue. I am inclined to believe that if you have the frsc biometric license and that is the license thay has expired and you are renewing it, your date of 1st issue would not change on the renewed license. So, this means that your driving experience is retained. I think that it's when the old Nigerian non-biometric license is renewed and a new biometric license is issued that the date of 1st issue changes. Everyone I know who has renewed their expired biometric license has the date of 1st issue unchanged. If anyone has a different experience, please share. See photo attached. Looping Newmum0615 |

The old one would be cancelled. you cannot have two licences running in the system. So you can either request to have a reissue for your licence to continue till the date of expiry of the old one or you reissue and its starts a fresh date from the date of the reissue. Gabzi28: no it won't. |

Hi, Just got an information that Abuja Clinic might suspend medicals for now due to the construction upgrade in the clinic. I'd advise that you call before going. IOM would be the next option but you must book online before you go. |

Hi, I presume you mean learners permit in Nigeria. I don't think there is a database for the issuance of Learners permits in Nigeria at the moment. sweetrie: Good evening house, pls I have a question regarding driver's license. I got my learners permit in 2016, didn't upgrade to getting a drivers license as I drove just a few times. I am now considering getting the license, will it be of any impact in Alberta? Or do I just start all over in Alberta? Thank you |

Got to realize in some places, Car is not a luxury, especially if you have kids. vcole: you dress warm. Get a car, underground parking, good winter tires. Go out when necessary and wait out the 6 months. Lol! Don't be terrified. You will survive. Your lil boy would even love it. |

Sometimes they ask for it and could sometimes go further to request to see your statement of account. All depends on the officer. joo2018: All the landing experiences and QnAs, I've read on the sister thread "Living in Canada" so far (page 1-173) suggests it is not checked at landing. See one I just read: https://www.nairaland.com/3617393/living-canada-life-canadian-immigrant/172#63666490
The cash you carry with you and the value of goods you are carrying seems to be more important. However, some people stated that they took printed statements of accounts along just in case. Ifywhyteman: Please I want to find out something. When does one make use of the funds fixed after PPR has been received. Do the Canadian govt need to see the complete fund in your account when you touch down Canada or do you liquidate the fund while in Nigeria, and use it for flight, apartment rental and other stuffs. Please any body with a good idea. |

I'm quite emphatic towards you. Its a sad experience. I agree with the person that advised on the police report. I would also suggest you take your time and breath, you can still have this PR without an agent. Read and digest page 1, every info you need it there. You will need to write IELTS and TEF as well as have your credentials evaluated. Kindly refer back if you need further clarifications. Emmyqueen: thanks for your comment. I'm 28, I have bachelor's degree in French studies. I'm not married yet but i have a child for him and we live together. My husband is 34, he has hnd in mass communication. He has his own business. What pathway are you talking about, pls can you explain more? |

Just making emphasis on the bolded. There are provinces, just like the one in which i am, where having a car is a neccessity and not luxury. The Transport system might be delayed by the weather but you will still have to get to work. We are not talking about 5 degrees which might be equivalent to putting your hands in a deep freezer for 7 mins or minus 10 degrees which might be like chilling in a cold room for 5 mins. I'm talking about minus 18, -25 degrees. Frost bite is real. Then you might have kids, you will have to go to the groceries... Lets plan well. dane15: My opinion is that whenever someone asks a question that bring our legs outside, we should report the post.
This will protect both the poster, the future Canny bound people and ourselves.
If you love sharp corner, please send a PM to someone you relate well with on the thread. If the person helps, good luck. If not, maybe you can look for another person.
I attended the Preparing for Canada program this Tuesday, and the truth is that you are going to need every dime of your POF.
Even if you have gotten PPR with other people's funds, ensure you have something reasonable when you are going there. This will assist you in keeping calm and studying the environment. We were told about one General Manager from Airtel, who couldn't get a job immediately despite the vast array of certifications he had. He had to engage in volunteering and other activities that were in line with his profession until he was able to get a better job. What if his POF was borrowed? He would have been left with no choice than to do menial jobs which will even divert him further from his career path to survive. The POF bought him enough time to obtain the Canadian experience required for his job. Let us not start the journey on a wrong foot. Please the POF issue is not a joke. Especially if you have a family. No one is trying to discourage anyone from going to Canada but go about it in a legal, well thought-out, considerate, reasonable manner.
I pray it ends in praise for all of us. Shalom. |

Well from my experience, the network your phone operates in will likely limit the option of the provider you will go with. Now to your question, I think it might work but might affect the services you will have access to by the provider like HD Calls, data speed and the likes. kylexy61: What if my phone supports only one of the frequencies? My infinix phone supports both 850 and 1900 for 2G (GSM) but it only supports 850 for the 3G. Will it still work? |

Ensure you declare it, not at Nigerian Immigration though, but on the form you fill in the plane and when asked by CBSA. ImperialCovfefe: Hello @all,
If someone carries 10000 US dollars cash to Canada, would there be any issues in depositing the sum over the counter into a Canadian bank account?
Thanks. |
