The party about to start

Ekevho to anchor home
|
Congrats to Tobi Amusan. She’s shut them all up. I think she should be drafted to the 4 x 100m relay team. Last photo…with Jeanette Kwakye of the BBC.
|
advanceDNA:Ok sir. Bye. May your day and week be blessed. |
advanceDNA:Bros go and watch athletics. Thank me later My girl Tobi Amusan just broke the commonwealth games record…12:30 She has done it again. She’s silenced those blaming the timing equipment and her shoes. Bye and have a good day….she made me some money as well. Stay blessed. |
advanceDNA:If you ever get to that stage where you’d have to manage a big department or organisation, you’ll need serious management training. Your sort of personality need to be retrained and encouraged to disabuse your mind of so many bad orientations. Your development should be such as to prompt you to go on certain courses periodically. There’s something about you that’ll make you to relapse and go back to your old ways. You should be trained and closed monitored. |
advanceDNA:I brought that in because of your sort of mentality. The opportunistic habit of using technicalities to treat others unfairly. As long as you are safe and protected by certain clauses, nothing else matters. That’s the mentality that nurture and enable the fertility of all sorts of nonsense. Yes I mentioned Lebanese. Is that a problem? Why pick on Lebanese? Didn’t you see Chinese and Indians mentioned? |
advanceDNA:Arrogance is bad. That needs no emphasis. Just because you are protected by clauses and fine prints doesn’t mean you should treat people with disrespect. A bank like first bank should treat its customers with respect and with fairness and that includes its potential employees and job seekers. Elsewhere, this man can rattle the bank and really escalate this matter. What the bank did isn’t malpractice but it’s good practice to acknowledge the fact that they modified their recruitment process after the submission of applications and it’s good practice to communicate this. |
advanceDNA:There is no ‘entitlement’ here. It’s rather your type of mentality that encourage employment malpractices and irregularities in Nigeria. There is no regulation. Everyone act as they please. Military don’t know their job description and boundaries, same with the police. Governors and other politicians handle the state treasury like it’s their private account. A Chinese, Indian, and Lebanese employer slaps their employees or expose them to dangerous machine in an unsafe working environment and nothing happens….yes the employees and those in authority “don’t owe you shit”. That’s the mantra. A simple feedback, notification and a simple apology was all that man needed. |
advanceDNA:The applicant’s crime was that he complained about a certain treatment from First bank. He applied for a job role with clear age specification and in the middle of the recruitment process, the bank made adjustment which discriminated against him…the problem here isn’t whether the bank was within their rights to do that, the problem is that this man felt victimised….1…because the adjustment eliminated him and…2..the bank didn’t inform him about the adjustment. Should he then act passive and move on because as you put it…”the organisation doesn’t owe you shit”? This is the problem…The man deserve fair treatment and first bank as big as it is should do better or should’ve done better. That customer service stinks of arrogance and unprofessionalism. In some countries and I mean saner environment, there is an Equality Act of which age is a protected characteristic. The applicant has been treated unfairly. He didn’t apply based on an entitlement that his age must be considered. He satisfied the requirement but adjustment was done. Can First bank objectively justify that adjustment?? Even if they could, they still would’ve acted poorly, their HR team need to do better. This applicant did something good for the bank and that’s the fact that he complained. There would be loads of other passive applicants queuing behind him and observing from a safe distance. First bank should have done one thing and it’s a very simple thing…..Inform him of changes to his application and a simple apology.. A simple act of respect can change things…much the same way you’ll mistakenly nudge someone behind you and utter….sorry. |
advanceDNA:He has the right to complain and it’s the responsibility of First Bank plc to respond to his complaints. Whether First Bank reserve the right to alter the age specification or not, don’t you think that they should’ve informed the applicants of their action? |
hollandis:Elaine is a legend. It’s all hard work and genetics. Congrats to Ofili.
|
Onwuzurike missed out. Richards of Trinidad and Tobago took the good in 19:80.. Hughes got silver and Joseph Amoah of Ghana took the bronze.
|
BOOOMNAIJA:I hope they do well tomorrow. It’s one thing to have a strong relay team, it’s another to exchange the barton properly without any foul. USA team with their formidable quartet dropped the barton at Beijing in 2008. At Rio in 2016, the USA were third but their barton exchange was outside the exchange zone so were disqualified. A lot can go wrong. I wish them well. |
Congrats to the Nigeria 4 x 100m relay team. Hope they get a medal tomorrow.

Fiyin007:
|
Amerengues2:Elaine Thompson will definitely be their anchor leg. She came for the commonwealth games to get the gold and she wouldn’t miss the 4 x 100m. England will do the same. Neita will run in the finals. They were unfortunate not to have Dina Asha Smith…. Nigerian ladies have done well so far, I think Tobi should be there, not sure what her time will be on the flat, even without her if the girls execute their job well, they’ll be on the podium…good thing is Nigeria will be in the middle lane. |
If Jamaica runs with that quartet, they will struggle in the finals. I think they’d bring in Thompson-Herah in the finals. England will definitely introduce Daryll Neita to anchor for them…Bianca Williams might be sacrificed. A good lane and good barton exchange with no lane infringement will get the Nigerian girls on the podium. |
Brilliant run by Nigerian ladies in the 4 x 100m relay. The anchor leg Nkwocha ran down the British girl for the first position. I think they qualified with the best time and hopefully will be in the middle lane for the finals. |
Danielnino00:Enoch need to work hard too. The one athlete I had high hopes of winning lots of medals was Divine Oduduru. He was such a talent and the Nigeria version of Noah Lyles. I wonder what happened to him. Dude has got lots of potentials but sadly something went wrong. |
fergie001:Don’t mind me, I knew it was an error. |
fergie001:He needs to train harder. He was the reason the 4 x 400m relay team didn’t qualify. He should improve on his personal best and be a bit more consistent. 47s or even 46 was never going to get him anywhere. |
fergie001:It was 20:59….No one can run that fast in a 200m |
walkbrazil4k:Do you eat snakes? |
Offpointng:Why would the Army be allowed to pass before the civilians? Were they on emergency duty? If they were, there’d be another vehicle with a siren indicator before their bus or on their bus. This was just cowardice and an unnecessary display of strength by the Army. This is one of the reasons Nigeria remains a shithole of a country where anything goes. |
fergie001:I think the common wealth games record is held by Brigitte Foster of Jamaica now Brigitte Foster-Hylton. She ran 12:65 in the 2006 Melbourne Australia commonwealth games. Four years later in Delhi, Sally Pearson ran 12:67 and she repeated 12:67 to win the gold in Glasgow, Scotland in 2014 commonwealth games. I remember this game, Tiffany Ofili or Tiffany Porter, Cindy Sember’s elder sister took the silver. Hopefully the wind will not interfere on Sunday as Amusan breaks the record. Wishing her well. |
fergie001:Brume will get the 7m mark. Relax |
Ruth Usoro in the Group A of the women long jump qualifying. Ese Brume in Group B. Hopefully Nigeria might pick 2 medals here. Gold and either silver or bronze. |
4 x 400m men’s relay underway. Heat 1 Nigeria in 4. Johnson Nnamani Samson Nathaniel Ezekiel Nathaniel Sikini Adeyemi The relay team not really doing well. Nigerian trailing behind Botswana and Jamaica. Sikini Adeyemi messed up the third position for Nigeria. Zambia overtook Nigeria in the final leg to take the third position. Nigeria might still qualify. |
Tobi Amusan in lane 3 of her 100m hurdles heat |
Tobi Amusan starts the defence of the gold medal she won four years ago at the Gold Coast 2018 tomorrow morning…05/08/22 She runs in the third heat around 10:45am |
Goodness Nwachukwu with the gold and world record in women para discus. |
