While we were dating, one of his 'ex' he said to have dated a year ago,but couldn't take the relationship further,because she is not ready for marriage till 2015 when she would be 23. They kip close tabs that my hubby calls her in my presence while we were courting before he goes to bed,but doesn't do same to me while am away. He told me that he can't let her go,that she is just a friend & a drama queen because she likes attention. I saw no harm in that,months went by he didn't stop chatting wit her. I was away in lagos preparing for our wedding,my hubby was always chatting her up calling her names he never called me or romantic words he wld never said to me. I almost called the wedding off but my Mum told me he wld learn to be romantic. My hubby was busy lavishing the romance on his 'Ex'. During our wedding she called him,was asking what was happening,I was so pissed I had to control myself. During the honeymoon too she was chatting & calling. 2weeks ago I saw the chat between him & d lady I was so heart broken. Things he never said to me,I was so angry we quarreled. My parents had to sought it out. The painful thing is that he still keep tabs with her,not minding the damage on our marriage. Whenever her issue comes up he keeps malice with me I have to start begging. I am so confused

This is my first post and I am in a dilemma.
I have been in a serious and steady relationship for a year and half now and we hope to get married soon.
My problem is that my bf is naturally stingy. I am ardent advocate of romance without finance but men need to understand that even if a woman has a million, nothing pleases her more than knowing her man can provide a hundred for her.
I am very independent and I have my own money but I get broke sometimes cos I have a family to take care of. My bf always had a ready made answer of "I don't have" whenever I tell him to lend me money.
My brother gained admission into the university and I had to pay his acceptance fee. I was very broke so I asked him to lend me some money and he gave his usual answer. I just laughed it off only to discover today that he bought a brand new phone of over 60k and I needed just 25k.
I have made several sacrifices for him in the past including selling my ipad because he needed money to finance something and I didn't have it at that time.
I can go any length for him but he feels its a taboo if he makes sacrifices for me.
I called off the relationship tonight cos as I was telling him he offended me, he just kept shouting that I shouldn't bother him and not drop my problems on his head.
Isn't he the most insensitive lover ever?

bugativeron: I dont know about you. But as for me I am tired of this country and it seems nothing will ever work again. I need to look for a legitimate way of getting my family out of this country. Me, my wife and my two children. I am tired of spending my income on things that are consumption in nature without being able to see what lies in the future. Like I said it can be frustrating seeing the way the country is being run. But my greatest fear is for the future of my children. Please forget any advise not to go my mind is made up. Mind you I work and I am not sure i earn badly, at least earn above 8m annually with my wife we earn over 10m. But i cant just continue with the frustration that come with this country. PLS YOUR ADVISE ON LEGITIMATE WAY TO LEAVE AND NEVER TO COME BACK AGAIN.

DARREG: i joined nairaland since 2009 thinking i would be able to enjoy myself but one thing i have noticed about the girls here is that they are not ready to mingle. Most of them have this holier than thou atitude like they are above all guys. i am tired of socializing with this kind of girls.
