TravelRe: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part3 by kpolli(m): 4:18am On Dec 20, 2012
BossyBawws: Greetings everyone,
Please lets discuss. I was granted admission to Devry University's Keller Graduate School of Business for MBA in project management in Virgina, USA. The school has it on their webstite that "they do not require completion of the GRE and GMAT exams if your undergraduate gpa is at least 2.70" of which most us of meet this requirement. I have a ba in Philosophy. Why are the vo's denying visas for this purpose? why?

I have another interview on friday morning and have been searching for answers until i found this website and saw all these questions unanswered by the EXPERIENCED PARTICIPANTS of this forum. please explain why we must write gre and gmat when our schools said no. Let us all VIU & Devry students join heads to defend our schools with the help of gurus to make good answers to the vo concerning these tests. 2012 already coming to an end and there is no way we can write gre or gmat at this time of the year.
I look forward to everyone's input about this important unfair condition by the vo at the american Embassy. People go to UK without any exams so why must the vo speak for different schools in america. their job is to issue visa only.

Regards,
BB.
Do you want a degree that no employer would accept? Then go to Devry, the VOs are helping you by denying

Hi Nairalanders. I`ve been away because of my tripple life. My son turns 7 today (sigh..... now he has the liberty to think I`m not as smart as his first grade teacher). Everyone is invited to come grab a cup cake with angry bird rings.
Where is the venue?

How many times have I said VIU, Devry and co can not sponsor international students una no dey hear word. . . Graduates of those schools can not be employed by big companies. . . They are what we call technical schools, that's where awon mechanics (blue collar jobs) dey go learn. . . .

CareerRe: Job, Graduate Program Or Marriage? by kpolli(m): 2:10am On Dec 18, 2012
My Vicky: Which is advisable? To continue working as a contract staff with no job security, marry in such an uncertain condition or take a partial scholarship offer to pursue graduate studies in the United States of America thereby postponing wedding for 2+ years?
It is very pitiable that so many companies still thrive in Nigeria by subjecting graduates to the so called 'contract employment' agreement and the Nigerian graduates are just comfortable with such 'inhuman' and obnoxious terms and agreement. The challenges of a homo sapien are multi faceted; you have got to think about good job, marriage, personal development, advanced degrees and the likes. which one should come first? Should it depend on the individual or circumstances of life?
If ur picking graduate option, marry b4 doing so cos u myt not marry her anymore oh

phy: Well I didn't take any and all the people I have asked didn't take any from naija till they got to the US. Who will trust the yellow card that you can get for N50 at MMIA - not even SA.
Not only yellow card. . . To do TB test no be beans here, to do MMR no be pure water, its more than 10k cheaper in Naija for each. . . . Plus u can do yellow fever at any LGA in naija

jasmine21: Hello people,
Please can someone help me some information here?
My middle name from my birth certificate is ZZZ but i changed it since Secondary school to YYY. From WAEC till University, my middle name reads YYY on certificates. When i did my e-passport in 2010, i was advised by my cousin to use the middle name in my birth certificate (ZZZ) in my e-passport which i did. Now my problem is this;
i registered for GRE exam with YYY middle name some months ago but registered for my TOEFL exam later with middle name ZZZ. ( I totally forgot about GRE name). I am applying for US Student visa, I am very worried Please advise me, will i still be granted my Student visa?
Get a court sworn affidavit and get ready to explain

biofem2000: Nairalanders, how are you all doing. Exams should be over by now(phew!!!)
OK. Where is the "rolling my eyes" emotion?.
I `ve never heard about this school; granted there are many schools in the VA/MD/DC area that I`ve never heard about but this sounds .........
But, Good luck! When you get there, you may want to look around. There are so many good schools in the VA area.
I have, same level as Everest and Phoenix. . . . They can not sponsor international students cos of their reputation but bros can prove the rumor wrong

CAMEROONPRIDE: thanks my bother . cool cool
tho m surprised cf bold/
walmart stuff are not that cheap only products by great value and those stuff are of low quality.... Plus if u check the weight and price of others, they are the same price. . . . They just split their goods into smaller bits and sell
TravelRe: Life In The Usa As A Student. by kpolli(m): 8:15pm On Dec 07, 2012
CAMEROONPRIDE: HI, my brothers and sisters i have several concerns
1)jobs: ,how did you find a job (either part time or full time ? do i just walk in a store and ask for an available position? is it though esp for someone with no really credentials and job experience? about the forms that you fill etc do they even consider that? or you have to know the manager or be recommended by a friend to the manager.

2)Wal-Mart: can someone tell me why wal-mart is cheaper? i mean are their products even good cause if they follow the same sanitary, taxes etc process that the others companies follow why is that they are cheaper. i ask cause i worry about my health.

3)Mingle: I'm a Cameroonian who doesn't really know any other Africans/Cameroonians where i live(NJ/NYC). but really misses those Africans(u know what i mean) parties/club. can someone help me out with names of club etc?
that's it for the moment thanks to whoever gonna help me

NICE THREAD BTW!
1) Depends on your visa type
2) We don't ask, we just buy. . . Plus notice that alot of walmart food expire soon and their remaining stuff are not of high quality
3) Am down south so dunno much about NYC but I am sure google can help

HAAAA! You need oooo
TravelRe: Life In The Usa As A Student. by kpolli(m): 8:10pm On Dec 07, 2012
Jongrac: Well-done guys, you all are doing a great job here @ this forum.
Please I need info on the necessary medicals to run here in Nigeria before leaving for the US, read a post in this forum that advises one to do it here before departure cos its a lot cheaper when compared to US.
Will be leaving for Spring 2013 Semester for graduate studies.
Thanks.
Go to luth, they do must of the medicals plus check the school health care centre site to get the least of tests to do. . . Damn you just reminded me, I owe this people one test cry

Snazzygirl: @ imperiouxxx....That's what is obtainable in EVERY graduate school ke, Eros jst made dat statment incorrect since he got admission. Most schools require GRE but some accept toefl and waive GRE depending on ur course of study. I agree GRE carries more weight so it makes sense to write it if trying to impress d VOs.
They do this cause they would never give you assistantship, you wud be a guaranteed paying student. . . Be wise, just do gre. . . . The $200 exam can save you $10k worth of fees. . . To be warned. . .

Yvete: Its funny how people get so emotional online. Bigfrancis did well, but Ceejay needs to research the admission process on his own. Let's encourage newbies to read this thread from part 1. There's so much information that would help. Some people ask questions that may have been discussed just a few posts back. Would you rather repeat the same info over & over? Everyone means well and I don't see anything wrong or rude with kpoli's comment. Maybe he should mind his business, I guess.
From now on, I will

Come on! If he doesn't know the process to apply to a school he doesn't deserve an admission. . . . And he strikes me as an immigrant, he doesn't want to school. . . Am not attacking you. . . I was just wondering why you bothered answering him. . .

Do you know how much their fees is or how much it will cost for one to go for masters program there. I have a brother there, is this an advantage?

talk2D: Hi everyone, i went to WAEC to request for transcript and was told, they send out "confirmation of result" .Fine!
The issue am having is that, the university am applying to, requires academic record/TRANSCRIPT to be sent by WES(evaluation service) and i notice that WES do not require High school transcript(as required doc) for Secondary Education category.
Can someone figure out what am not getting right? Thanks
They will evaluate your high school transcript not waec result
