I live very close to the exact spot where the fire incident broke out. This fire started around 2AM in the morning and it occurred when one of the pipeline vandals who was on fire ran to the tanker they had already loaded and asked the driver to open the door for him, so that he wouldn't be lynched by the local vigilantes who were hot on his heels. The fuel in the loaded tanker was attracted to the flames on the guys body and that was how the tanker exploded. State security operatives even assist these vandals. And they are protected by prominent persons in the community who expect "royalty" to be paid to them. Wicked people shall never know peace! Now, around that area, which is called Fire Junction (in memory of the previous fire that occurred in that area circa 2008) there's a junkyard where roadside mechanics ply their trade and incidentally, one of the pipeline valves that was sabotaged by those vandals exists there. It was open for their oil-theft business that same morning. The flames from the burning tanker which were carried by fuel eventually moved to that point and all hell went loose. That was when people noticed that something was out of hand. The thunderous booms from the explosion rocked the very ground. We were lucky that cooking gas plant was not affected. If it was, we would have gas cylinders flying like missiles and causing more havoc. When firefighters were trying to put off the flame, some of the mechanics who know the exact point where the pipeline in their open workshop is exposed tried to hide it from the firefighters but residents who saw it alerted them. The area boys were asked by some evil men to chase people in close proximity to that exposed pipeline point but it was already too late. Although the firefighters came late (most of the fire stations don't run shifts and most residents called them from around some minutes to 3AM that morning only for them to arrive by to 7!), I commend them for their efforts. Truly, they tried. To those that support, benefit or encourage illegal oil theft; your days shall never be long, you shall know no peace, your paymasters shall kill themselves and you as well, and as you have declared by your actions to endanger the lives of innocent people during unholy hours of the day, every step you take and every breath you breathe draw you closer to a horrible end where people will clearly see that the wrath of God descended on you. |
They should remove, not suspend, this confounded ignoramus from the Senate and sentence him to 5 years imprisonment that should be accompanied with community service by cleaning public toilets and clearing designated refuse dumpsites. Shame on him. Crying wolf when you are the werewolf. Madness is evident in his lineage. |
Ever since the song Wetin We Gain sang by Victor AD went viral, it has spurred millions of youth to engage in unscrupulous and immoral activities that purportedly catapult them to instant, ridiculous wealth and social status. Like this unfortunate fellow. Maybe that's the last song he listened to before heeding the advice of the ritualist. Just maybe. |
Her name says it all. "Join me to praise the Lord!". |
All talk, no action. Don't trust any Nigerian politician. I wish I was Thanos and snap my fingers so that all rotten Nigerian politicians would die off and be never remembered. |
Buhari should know that all this talk from him about condemning and expressing deep shock and sadness exposes just how inept, inconsiderate and idiotic his actions toward improving security in the country are. From failed promises of bringing back Leah Sharibu to eradicating the menace of BH (not to talk of the hardships facing the common Nigerian and the loss of local manpower to foreign nations because of poor welfare and sadistic government spending), Buhari has shown that corruption and insecurity are the hallmarks of his administration. Well, there won't be any claims of inheriting problems from a predecessor. Buhari is now his own predecessor and any thing wrong with Nigeria now is the result of his own actions/inactions. |
Then after the employment, what happens? I'm sure there are still unqualified, ghost teachers on the payroll of many federal educational institutions. Give teachers better pay and better welfare packages and not this rubbish new minimum wage. Same should also go to doctors. They are the most unappreciated, neglected and abused class of workers in Nigeria. |
Once one of the safest northern territories in Nigeria (the seat of the Caliphate) and without any record of violence from Boko Haram, Sokoto state has now begun to experience its first wave of violence from herdsmen. It seems most northern governors thrive on, trend with and tolerate violence. |
Just one slap from his hand may permanently reset her brain. |
The mod that pushed this to front page is stew-peed. |
In China, no matter how influential you are, once you run seriously afoul of the law, they will deal with you as you deserve. There are paedophiles, ritualists, pen-pushers and pension-looters in the corridors of power here in Nigeria but the law cannot touch them because of our heavily flawed human nature that worships authority backed with money. Imagine Zhao, a senior member of their chamber of commerce, executed for raping minors!! We can start with our universities and weed out the bad eggs then graduate into the Senate. |
This is all past tense now. Police was your friend. |
Chu Kwu Di marries Li Wu. |
The gods are hungry. But why will the deity attack the husband? Why not the man who defiled her? This their version of magun, ko ye mi. |
I'm happy that his case, even though it took close to eight years, was resolved based on logical, evidence-based investigations. Singapore is very unkind to Nigerians caught with drugs. Hopefully, this will set a precedent for future cases like these. |
Expect hike in T-fare with its entry. |
Game of thrones is just a moniker for the real show - a display of incestuous tendencies in power-drunk individuals first with two shameless siblings Cersei and Jamie and then Dani and Jon, although Jon's love for Dani waned after he found out that she was his aunt. The Lannisters and Targaryens are the dueling families in the show and the underdogs (which should actually be underwolves), the Starks, emerged vindicated. That the Starks reunited and waxed stronger was my only solace. Anyway..

The Customs boss will not point a finger to the many wives and girlfriends of Customs officers and even fellow officers that sell rice and other contraband goods that they forcefully obtain from so-called smugglers. Idiotic raggamuffin! |
A sage has finally gone home. |
Never argue with a man in uniform who is armed. Just comply with lawful directives. And if you think bringing out your phone to record will help while you're being searched, your cup has already overflown. |
priceaction:True talk. All those buses just waiting to turn to glorified molues. So sad. |
amaniro:NL mods are unabashedly the best hate speech fuelers in Africa. It is in NL that the word "Afonja" was first used to coin Yorubas. It is in NL that the word "Fl@theads" was used to describe Igbos. Sooner or later, growing generations of social media savvy Nigerian children may forget the true name of ethnic tribes in Nigeria. Thanks to the tribalistic NL mods who don't do anything to sanitize their forums. IMO, they should just arrest one of them for crimes of promoting hate speech. The flames of ethnic bashing are too intense here. |
ollah2:Enjoy your day. None of us can be right all the time and no faith is worth believing if it does not respect the sanctity of human life and upholds it. Your last question is purely subjective and seeking a separate recourse to justify your personal intentions. I prefer objectivity. There are ongoing cases of people in all parts of Nigeria engaging in ugly sexual acts with not just their children but their relatives. Sometimes, most of these acts go unreported. When we get to know about these things on social media, the Nairaland Nigerian factor (which is an agglomeration of different faiths, belief systems, norms, cultures, mannerisms, caricatures etc.) doesn't address it objectively but rather pursues a course of action that incites ethnic conflict. And you and I are getting caught up in it. Can we not keep doing this? |
ollah2:You give what you have. As I said, you've severally used the words bigot and hate in your comments and for reasons best known to you. It doesn't give me pleasure to call you Mr. Bigot but it seems you have a knack to lash out at anything OR any person that projects a reason for you to use the word bigot. The person you replied to expressed extra knowledge about traditional practices that parents use to sleep with their children and listed, not just the Yoruba, but other prominent tribes in Nigeria that do practice such. If you're a traditionalist and it offends you, take heart. I could offer you a handkerchief for good measure so you don't need to use your hands. I find it target practice to speak with you on not just your favorite subject but to also ask you to discontinue your bigot-and-hate tirade on NL. It's really becoming a nuisance. Just run a Google check on your moniker and see the words bigot pop up rapidly like mutating Ebola virus. What sort of penalty befits the man's heinous act? |
ollah2:Mr. Bigot, (and I truly mean no offense, just that the word bigot, statistically going by your posts, is synonymous with you) how market? You never change, do you? Any post, anything or anyone that lights up the bigot lobe in your brain to spew forth its bellicose contents via your buccal cavity is really a treat for you. Anyway, a father raping a child (two for that matter) is ultra bad. What would those girls grow up to think about other men who are fathers to their own daughter(s)? They may "advise" their girlfriends to stay away from their dads by sharing their experience. That begins a cycle of negative perception, distrust and misguided aggression shown by girl children to their fathers. |
Post other pics showing the evolution of the Lexus brand in the listed timelines. That would help! |
Even at the airport, Customs and Immigration, they are as shameless as ever. Two of them from Immigration asked us to sanwo before we could be allowed to go through the boarding gate into the waiting lounge. I asked him if he was OK, and he said, "Do I know that he can stop us from traveling?". I dared him to do so. When he noticed other people coming to meet us, he let us pass. They are greedy, wicked people. The few of them that don't conform to their nasty antics are not allowed in their money-spinning activities but relegated to some other obscure work. |
Colon cancer, hole in the heart and kidney palaver!!! On top of the supermodel thingy. OMG. This one was TRIPLE BRUTALITY. She could not have done a combo breaker. May her beautiful soul rest in God's perfect peace. |
Go for his masters. Leave this urchin alone. The police know who his masters are and I will not be surprised that the policemen who caught have knowledge of the person who sent him. |

Pope22:Go to Rome where they will celebrate Mass for you, onye Pope22. Happy birthday. |
