BrockSamson:If it were you they caught at that time of the night, religion aside, you would blame the devil. We may not even hear about you because since you aren't influential like the lawmaker you may have been dealt jungle justice. Your talk about narrow a worldview is not even enlightening, talk less about your whipping up the past about what Christians did. Oh, and don't ever compare what God instructed his people to do to what Owoeye claimed that he was doing - shame on you for that because you clearly don't understand the difference between something divine and something man-made or made-up. Here's what I think - I don't think there was a frame-up on Owoeye. Why would a kidnapper frame a politician and ruin the chances of his (Owoeye's) value to him by setting him up for a ritual act at that time of night? Kidnappers are not known for being very elaborate in planning toward that direction. Fact - I am 100% sure bathing in public place in the middle of the night does not violate any criminal law, hence no police has no right to detain him.Why don't you do this yourself and let's see the outcome, hmm? I am not in agreement with sacrificing to idols/other-gods but I Imagined myself to be a leader in a place as diverse as Nigeria. Does the fact that our religion is at variance mean i shouldn’t judge righteously.Prevaricating is your style then. Evade the obvious but remember that those 52 cows were not killed as a result of misinformation, they were killed because they felt it was safe to cross a busy rail line. You may continue feeling safe and smart with your arguments that eke out emotional sentiments from historical events but no iya oloja will support you - she'd rather kill you [if you were Owoeye] to appease the countless market-goers who will feel slightly safe that a social miscreant has deleted from their community. But I prefer you to be alive and confess. |
No nose?! Oya, medical students what sort of deficiency or excess is the cause of cyclopism in childbirth? EDIT: Actually, the correct medical term for this condition is not cyclopism but holoprosencephaly. Google it. |

BrockSamson:Going by what you have said, is it proper for a person to carry out a religious rite in a public place, at an unholy hour with blood [be it the blood of a human being or a cow]? In my experience, clandestine ritual activities that involve blood sacrifices are unholy and diabolic. Yet you and your people say that he did no wrong. Fasting is holy. I do not know about the others being holy, but that is my opinion garnered from personal application of such knowledge and backed by sound Christian teaching. If he was not caught, a lot of people may have died or become disadvantaged or something else worse. I am happy that he was caught and that his evil act has been exposed. You should not be ignorant of this. For the greater good of the people of Osun and Nigeria, this man was exposed and will be eternally shamed including his household. Anyone who supports him and says he's done no evil shall partake in his shame. |
The OP and the mod or mods who pushed this bigot sentiment to the front page at NL are totally foolish. Why do we need to whip up ethnic news that does not unite us? Then we see people posting, without pictures, to argue about something that does not contribute to the development of the country, much less their own personal growth? The only reputation Nairaland seems to have is warehousing social and ethnic miscreants and the fake news they distribute. If this were in a much more cyber-regulated country, some people here, even mods, would go to jail. |
What of all the countless project vehicle designs that university students use to impress their lecturers in final year project that have never entered Nigerian market?
|
I talk am. Predictable politicians. Yet some of us youths will still fall for this class act and cry quietly the same way most of them are doing now under Buhari. https://www.nairaland.com/newpost?topic=4725753&post=71076919 |

Next thing he will visit Sandaji Filling Station and the hospitals to commiserate with those who lost loved ones that were killed in the gas explosion. Typical Nigerian politician. |
Why should I provide my BVN and PVC number [excluding other forms of national identification that are safer to share] to the FG just because of NGN10,000 that cannot help me do fruitful business? There are other NGOs, financial institutions and microbanks that lend money without the type of collateral that FG is asking for? All they require is some form of social collateral that the economically active poor can provide. FG knows that the masses do not trust them and that's why they want to know who is borrowing their money through this scheme. BVN is personal. Sharing it publicly (because those forms will be warehoused somewhere before the data is compiled to an online database if there's any) is dangerous. This government initiative is messed up. |
dainformant:Who misinformed them? Who was the person that gave them information that they could cross over the rail track at a point where there is no terminal rail crossing sign for interpretation? I see that the cows were crushed over a bridge. What on earth are cows doing crossing along a bridge? A commissioner of police saying such things about cows should at least get his facts very right before blurting out to the press just so that he can cover for his brethren. |

FIFA it is uncouth for a professional coach in the field or in a press conference to use derogatory remarks against another player, another country or the citizens of another nation. Will you allow the Libyan coach to insult us? Every nation has its ills but it is unfair and disrespectful for another nation to use such ills to insult it. Fair play on the pitch should also translate to fair play off the pitch. The Libyan coach should be disciplined so that next time, he won't make an expensive joke again. |
This kind of news on a Monday morning? Some people have no joy at all. |
PrettyCrystal:Kaiama LGA is in Bayelsa state, not Kwara. RIP to the dead, hopefully. |
Son, never despise your father, when he is old and his youth has fled from him or when he has died. Do not mock the dead but pray for their salvation that they may be admitted into heaven. When they get to heaven, they can pray for you. |
NAIROBI (AFP) - Kenyan police on Wednesday (Sept 5) raided the African headquarters of the China Global Television Network, briefly detaining several journalists as part of an ongoing crackdown against illegal immigrants, an employee told AFP. Cellphone footage of the raid seen by AFP showed armed plainclothes police bundling Chinese staff into vehicles while demanding that reporters of other nationalities produce their passports or accompany them to the police station. "They had automatic rifles, it was scary," said one foreign reporter at the state-owned television station on condition of anonymity. Kenyan police chief Joseph Boinnet confirmed the raid on the office in search of illegal immigrants. "All the foreigners who were arrested at CGTN have been released after their documents were confirmed to be okay," he told Capital FM radio station. In a statement, the Chinese embassy said it received a call for help from 13 nationals, eight of whom worked for CGTN, while the five others were employed in the same building. "They stated that they were detained by Kenyan police even though they held legal documents," read the statement. Several such events happened recently. The Chinese Embassy (is) expressing its concern to the Kenyan side through diplomatic channels. CGTN, an international English-language television station, broadcasts across the globe, with major news centers in Nairobi and Washington. Kenya last month began hunting down and arresting those illegally in the country after holding a 60-day exercise in which every foreigner was required to revalidate their permits - a laborious process that can take up to eight hours. Last week the interior ministry released a hotline number for members of the public to report illegal immigrants. "It is extremely worrying that citizens are being encouraged to call a hotline to report cases of suspected undocumented migrants. This approach is likely to ignite xenophobia against foreign workers, refugees and asylum seekers," Amnesty International's regional deputy director Seif Magango said in a statement on Saturday. China and Kenya maintain strong relations, with Beijing funding numerous infrastructure projects in the country. China financed 90 per cent of a US$3.2-billion (S$4.4 billion) railway linking Nairobi to the coastal city of Mombasa. |

GSA01:Plates can move and a tectonic plate is very mobile, albeit at micro pace. But there is movement. Nigeria sits on a craton - A craton is an ancient part of the Earth's continental crust which has been more or less stable since Precambrian times. However, there are fault lines at the surface of this craton that allow for water, natural gases, and oil embedded in the rock layers above the craton. Movement along fault lines in the Earth's crust caused by the tectonic plates can chip off small parts of the craton and create micro-fissures where the impact of the friction may be transferred. We may not experience earthquakes in Nigeria for a long time - say in the next quarter of a billion years - but we can experience tremors because of the movement of interplate fluids, orogenesis and the Earth rotation. |
After the white elephant project to look for oil in the Chad Basin, this is what you get. Rock blasting, drilling through metamorphic rocks, which by the way are much more prone to seismic activity in that region given the dearth of underground water to dissipate the energy vibrated through the rock layers, can induce mini tremors which when they aggregate can lead to the event that happened in Abuja. If they know any better, they should not activate any movement in the Benue Trough, because a tremor in Abuja can affect areas like Kogi, Kaduna, Ebonyi, and Taraba. |

I will not mince my words. The so-called prophecy about the Ekiti election results from Apostle Suleiman is not a prophecy at all. There has never been a failed prophecy unless it was not ordained by God Almighty. All failed prophecies are words of men, not God. A prophet begins delivering the prophecy from God by saying "Thus says the Lord" and nothing else. It is not a wavering this-or-that-may-happen style of messaging. It is specific, with a condition of what may happen if the message is not adhered to. All these men posturing as prophets of God need to be cautious - just because you command respect from men through wealth, influence or connections does not mean that what you say is God's word OR that it is cast in stone or gold. They are mere soothsayers and not prophets. |
shanequeen:Should be that of the okada rider who was carrying her. Read OP's post again, then you will understand. |
MDsambo If it was a Muslim that survived the accident, should we be thankful to Mohammed his servant or to Allah? Praise God for the good thing he has done and you've done your part. Why bring up the issue of religion? What if, just as an example, a pastor who worships God Almighty healed you of an illness would you praise Allah or God? |

If there was blood as you say; was it confirmed to be human blood; No. Even children of isreal were instructed to use blood at a point of their sojourn in Egypt.
