I forgot to tell you guys. Was watching Nigezie 3days ago when I saw this Naija freestyle competition advert (forgot the exact title) that ll be held in Abuja.

Winner gets 3million naira,runner up gets 1million or so(forgotten) plus both will also get one Year recording contract, I think. The application form is 3k.

I memorised the website for the application but can't seem to remember it again.

Those of you serious with audio should ask around and apply. Who knows!! You might just win. I wouldn't mind 100k for this info sha when that happens.

And mikuz, I don't see the rationale behind you locking ffr cos not everyone chitty chatters there. Some drop bars too you know. I don't do the regular and traditional 3 line set up before a punch again cos I was advised by a veteran USB textee to quit it cos they are fillers and are unnecessary and that I should use one line or 2 line as set up instead..and do two punches per quatrains..
Its funny how some people still don't get it and I still lose punchline crit when 2 different punchlines are rammed in a single quatrain... Smh

I get your point but everything I know about text battling today is from this section of Nairaland. When people give someone wordplay as a crit here, isn't it based typically on homophones?

I met the system that way... I met vets giving the wordplay crit to the battler with the most well hitting homophone... OK, show me one battle where someone won wordplay without homophones?

You used 'Tropics' .. 'Forest' .. then ended with 'Termite' and 'woods' in one bar and it was cool cos you centred the whole bar around one environment but I didn't see it as wordplay, I saw it as creativity(onomatopoeia... Imitative harmony)... I saw tropics and forest as a set up that made the final delivery of Termites lost in the woods more hitting.

If NL decides to introduce such imitative harmony as wordplay too and not only homophones then fine, I ll adjust and start voting that way, But If I were to decide, I wouldn't incoporate it into wordplay. I ll leave it under punchlines /metaphors cos puns and onomatopoeia are set ups that make the final delivery of a puch/met more wowing.... OR better still, we should create a new Crit for it.

Like I said, i wouldn't incorporate it into wordplay cos I ll rather give the wordplay crit to the battler with the most wowing homophone to pun,onomatopoeia anyday anytime. I ll keep voting that way but if NL agrees to add it to the voting system, then it ll be cool.

You can download Meme Generator from Play Store. Its an app that has a lot of images, so all you do is just to add text(s) to your choice image.

But I mostly use Pixlr cos most times, I prefer getting the images myself from Google search. Pixlr is on Play store too... Its an all round photo editor that has an add text on pic feature.
