Travel / Re: Herbert Wigwe But Traveling In A Helicopter At 22:00 Hours Id Madness??? by kulzinnyjo(f): 11:01am On Feb 13
This is absolutely correct. If he had a stronger team and someone who is fearless, they would advised them to wait till tomorrow morning and travel first thing the next day. when i saw the news, i thought why would you travel at 9pm on a helicopter and also raining bad weather. Its crazy. I am so sad Africa lost a rare gem. he is still young enough to achieve more success.

zoedew:
Honestly! Guess he had to meet the appointment. Wished he had logistics staff who are tough, bold and independent minded enough to cancel charter flight arrangement for a private jet. If the Special Assistant had the benefit of the prediction whose link is attached here and was bold enough to cancel the helicopter charter arrangement. He would have blown a fuse but it'll just stop at that. He flew in a toy of an helicopter!

Travel / Re: The Shelter Where Some Nigerians Are Living At Mississauga In Canada by kulzinnyjo(f): 12:07pm On Nov 24, 2023
This is absolutely spot on. You really hit the nail on the head. But our people will not understand. If one wants to go to Canada by all means, it must only be for the short term, get education and work experience which is not really the best in the top tier countries and leave a few moments later. Canada does not have any longevity for human habitation, both in people, agility, problem solving/innovative solutions, economy and well being. Even the Core Canadians know this and see no future in thier country and many dont live there or planning to exit too. Very sad but true. Nigeria is better. Well done and Godbless.

BabaRamota1980:
In terms of resourcefullness, manpower and skills, Nigeria is ahead of Canada, man to man. Canada should be on the bottom list of countries Nigerians should go. Infact, until 15 or 20yrs ago Nigerians would turn down offer to migrate to Canada. So what changed, and now every fool wants to go to Canada? The influence of human traffickers/salesmen and Churches. These two factors have contributed massively to this point that Canada has earned high profile as a destination country.

The reality of harsh conditions in Canada is hidden. Blackman loves things that glitter. So when they see pictures of buildings and streets in their glittering lights, polished and gleaming they are instantly enamored, and begin to imagine themselves walking on that street, living in those homes and occupying a office desk in those skycrapers. So when a trafficker approaches with an offer to help with visa it is a easy sell.

Reality happen when they are taken from airport to a refugee tent like this one.

Those who are lucky to get work visa are no better. They must pay rent, pay for electricity, pay for heating, pay for water, pay parking, pay trash collection. Goes to store to purchase food and must pay tax on top. Pay tax on income, pay toll tax, pay car registration tax, inspection tax...and upon all this lives in a neighborhood opposite of the glamor and glitter of Canada in pictures. He works in the skyscraper buildings but in security uniform.

Canada is a very big country, almost half the size of Africa, if not more. Yet, they have less than five metropolitan cities. Vancouver, Ontario, Quebec, Toronto. Thats it! It is wrong to say Canada is cold. Canada is frigid! Six months of the year you will be in thick socks and boots, jackets and gloves. Streets are deserted. Dark even at 3:30pm because Sun will set at about 3pm. Everyone stays off the streets, so then loneliness sets in.

Those caught up in the ugliness of this drama are too dissapointed and ashamed to own up and say they wished they had stayed the fck out of this desolate land. If they dont cry, others dont know not to go in.

Canada needs to boost economy, it is using migration to uplift labor lifestyle for its citizens and also keep a high population of taxable earners.

NYSC / Re: Opinion: NYSC Has Outlived Its Usefulness by kulzinnyjo(f): 5:00pm On Oct 11, 2023
I really agree with this. Government should stop providing too much money to the young individuals because, they will use it and run away and leave their homes dry and empty. Sad but true. Those people, graduates and etc will give thier best to the West, UK, USA, Canada, Australia and nothing back home..Yes its great to go abroad and gain skills and knowledge and for better life. But How many people have returned home after studies or scholarship to give their knowledge and skills back to their country? little or close to none... Its sad. I know Nigeria is tough but with strong will and zeal, something postive and good change can be done. Very heartbreaking.

tven:
Federal Government should give them money. Lol. They will use it to Japa. All the Doctors that enjoyed cheap education and fat allawee during NYSC have all Japa. Government should not give anyone money. Anyone that collects FG money should have his/her international passport seized and placed on travel restrictions. No one can be trusted. After enjoying Nigeria, they'll run to help develop UK and Canada. Nigeria Government, be wise ooo. Many have used millions they could have use to create wealth and employment in Nigeria to Japa because they want to enjoy and you're telling govt to give people money. FG, I warn you again coz I know you're reading this. Don't give anyone money without placing them on travel ban. Nigerians are self-centered people. My opinion

They abuse the system. UK failing fast. So sad.. They need to learn from scandanavian countries who are so clean with controlled immigration.

Travel / Re: Jakpa Syndrome: Hausa’s Not Joining The Bandwagon And The Implications To South by kulzinnyjo(f): 3:48pm On Dec 12, 2022
You are right. The implications are more than opportunities for southerners. When you leave, you have opened the door for the northerners to occupy and hence distancing yourself and now you keep shouting we southerners are marginalized, we don't have connections, bla bla lol. How can you have connections when you are not around?? Lol.. Unless we southerners japa to come back, which rarely ever happens or/and attain a very high level of success like. Ngozi Iweala or Kemi Badenoch or even more like ELon MUsk, If not, im sorry it's really sad all round sad. God bless everyone

HRprof:
With the wave of Jakpa going on in the country I still do not understand why Hausa’s don’t join the bandwagon to Jakpa abroad. I have pondered into this thought and I felt I should share my personal opinion and the implications that might affect the south west, south south and south East region if continue on the ongoing Jakpa.

Come to think of it , some of the reasons given by those who Jakpa is sighted insecurity meanwhile Northern Nigeria has the highest share of insecurity, the most affected region yet they don’t Jakpa to abroad rather they Jakpa within Nigeria to a place they felt is more safer than the North, however occupying the community of those who Jakpa abroad? Recently there are flocks of Hausa in all southern region.

Looking at the implication to the Jakpa abroad region:
1. With the insinuation that some persons want to islamize Nigeria with this it should be an opportunity for them to accomplish that.
2. When Hausa’s occupy the Jakpa syndrome communities they will possess your possessions and conquer your region.
3. The northerners will install Emir to all the Jakpa communities and take over their region
4. When they Jakpa people decide to return back to their country they become third class citizens in their fatherland.

Let discuss !!!!
Note; Not war !!! Not tribal sentiment !!!

Wow this is very interesting. Thanks for sharing. I have never heard of the boaz and ELimelec story and insight. One has to be very prayerful and really dig deep to understand where God wants them to prosper. Although ELimelec left the land when there was famine, it was still a bad decision moving, or whereas the location they relocated to wasnt a fruitful place. So. Crazy. God help us.

Migration didn't start in our generation. People have been doing it right from creation. As for me, I believe strongly that I will live life to its fullest in this country. Boaz became a billionaire where Elimelec japa from... it's all about mindset.

Travel / Re: Why Do Nigerians Abroad Stay Several Years Without Visiting Home For Once by kulzinnyjo(f): 12:03pm On Sep 15, 2022
Ahh you nailed it. Very well said. The thing about the west is that it kinda traps you but you won't even realise it. Reality literally sets in a few years after the 24hours light and good roads. You then begin to feel it but will hide your feelings under the notion of *that country with Buhari or whoever is president is poor, rubbish, unsafe and bla bla bla* but deep down you realise that you are never really from that part of the west that you now call home. But it's too late. Your children whom you sacrificed for a better life don't even care about you as much as you would like, speak your local language or know thier history or culture. You watch them roam around the streets of London and New York and ponder on what could have been.. Thier American and British accent that was cute when they were kids doesn't really matter to you anymore. It's weird and filled with Mixed emotions. But it's all good. For me the west or diaspora is a like a project, get the money, get the job done and move back home to where you really belong and come from. Why can't we return home and add value to our society after all this japa or whatever. My fellow Africans, we really need to wake up. It is well. God help us.

Quintopia:

Stay there talking rubbish. You people take NIgeria for granted. You don't know what you are enjoying in Nigeria until you leave Nigeria.

In Nigeria you can wake up tomorrow and start a full-blown business, and become your own boss.

Within a short period period you're employing people!

I mean, this is something you just cannot do in the USA or UK. Their business environment is locked in to the elite class there, and is hugged and sewn up by those who were there before you.

The market for everything there is saturated, and with the various taxes and overheads you'll pay to run your business, plus the heavy competition you'll face, you'll be lucky to be in profit after 3 years of running the company.

In NIGERIA you can start a business today, and by the following week you're in profit.

Sit there talking rubbish about Buhari and Nigeria.

That western word where I lived for decades, by the time you're there 2 months, you're missing Nigerian food, Nigerian freedom, and general Nigerian vibes that you're used to, where there's always something going down, be it a party, a business deal, a new babe.

You will even miss that your gen.

That warm breeze that you collect when you go outside to start your gen wearing your singlet and shorts. Maybe having a short conversation with your neighbour or your gateman.

Or the one that you'll come out of your house and see one small boy and send him to buy you akara from the next street.

It sounds crazy, but you will miss all those things after a few months (not to mention years) of being in the strict, monitored confines of western living.

You want akara? Nobody to send. You go there by your damn self and buy it.

All the 'constant light', 'good roads', etc that made you to japa will just seem like no biggie after a while.

You will come to realise that there is more to life than those things. And if someone offers you a ticket to Lagos, say for a week, you will dobale for the person, gba o!

Ah!

In fact Lagos or wherever you were based in Naija would seem like heaven after a while, and even more so due to the high cost of getting there (thousands of dollars). cool

Meanwhile, as you struggle to pay your bills in your small apartment, while answering yes sir to your oyinbo boss - whom you are more educated than, but under him because you are a black foreigner - you will be hearing news on your Whatsapp about this or that one of your old pals in Naija that has just completed his 6 bedroom mansion.

Suddenly, the whole japa thing starts to feel like a bad joke.

But by then it's too late. Those back home think you are 'enjoying abroad', and so you'll need to have a damn good reason to have surrendered all that 'enjoyment' to return home and be 'struggling' with them.

You are spot on. GOD BLESS YOU

franchasofficia:
Yeah I get you.

But the truth is, Canada is an option for people that are tired of Nigeria and can't get into any other developed country like US legally.

Canada is not built to make people wealthy, it is built for people to live comfortable middleclass and upper middleclass life.

Anybody that wants to become rich or wealthy should delete Canada.

Canada is for average thinking people who just want to break family poverty and give their children a guaranteed future of middle class and upper middleclass lifestle.

You are 100percent true. No freebies there. Hahaha Nigerians always looking for the easy way out. Lol Thank you

MT:

You do not have understanding of what you are writing about. Canadian citizenship gives you no leverage in the US, I repeat. You need to find the job and the sponsor, and be subjected to the same immigration rule like someone from Africa. People from Africa too need to find the job, get a sponsor and follow through the immigration rule.

Show me one advantage with proof a Canadian with citizenship has over someone from Africa as far as the US immigration is concerned. People get transferred from Chevron in Nigeria to the US as well. This cuts across. You only feel because US and Canadians are neighbours, the rule should be specially applied to the Canadian. Hell No!

Your Canadian citizenship only allows you to visit the US visa-free for maximum time of 6 months. If you spend a day more, it is a 10-year ban.

My dear, tell them the truth, everything takes time. No overnight success, if you are emigrating to uk or the west at 30 or 35, why not condition you rmind that it will take you 5 to 10years to get the papers if the goal is to be a full citizen. But we like short cuts and Sharp sharp way of doing things. In the west you have to work hard and be steady. You don't rush into things because you are in a foreign country. But good luck to those taking that risk. Our people too has lost all passion and creativity, now everything is about going to another man's country for economic, political and social refugee. It's sad but God help Nigeria.

zztop:
The sad thing about Nigeria now is that people are just looking to survive. It doesn't appear there is any ambition any more. If you are ambitious why would you want to japa? Nigeria has a population of over 200 Million. If you can't make it in Nigeria then the odds are you won't make it anywhere else. There a lot of false assumption. To really establish yourself in country like UK, it will take at least 10 years . If you are coming to the UK at 30 then you will only just start making it by around age 40. There are lots of young Nigerians here who are just sitting down not doing anything just like eran eleya waiting for a buyer. There are no short cuts in life. Life is difficult in Nigeria but it is also difficult everywhere as a black person you will be at the back of the queue.

There are lots of young Nigerians who seems to be making it.

Really agree with you, can't believe he was going through this but was contesting for positions In the last few months. God help them.
FreeStuffsNG:
Hmmm.

I recall having this conversation with my wife during the week when the case of Sen. Ike Ekweremadu came up and I was completely in an incandescent shock that this man actually has a bed ridden daughter yet has been all over the place attending political meetings for his political ambition instead of taking time out to sort out this his daughter's pressing health needs shocked

He was all over the place during the PDP primaries, he lost the PDP gubernatorial primaries for Enugu state then started planning to decamp to APGA, then APC and was even taken to APC national Chairman by HE Uzodinma when APC stalwarts in Enugu APC,led by their state Chairman, outrightly rejected him. He is not returning to the Senate as well. Eventually, he lost on all the political fronts.

Sen. Ike Ekweremadu was all over the place so much that he did not follow through on the health and lifestyle choices of his children.

He did not follow through on what I believe is more important than his political ambition; the life of his daughter and a family at the low ebb of the apprehension of losing a child to kidney failure.

Ike Ekeremadu was so consumed by his political ambition that he had no time and seriousness to do due diligence and background check on the character they got him as a donor for his daughter , I doubt if with his PhD, he even had the time to follow through and read up to ask the right questions from the professionals, understand the risks and benefits of why it could be better for one member of his family of 6 to donate to the daughter instead of a stranger and seek help to find out if there are some of the tests which can be done on the stranger here in Nigeria before bundling a total stranger overseas.

He was so consumed by politics that when the 22-year old donor went rogue and was allegedly scheming behind him to deny his age and report Ike and family to UK police, it probably escaped his detection and intervention soon enough so he can be the first to report to UK police and then return the donor to Nigeria for him to immediately restart the process of getting alternative donor(s) for his ailing daughter whose life was more important to him.

He forgot that he was first a father and husband before becoming a Senator,Deputy Senate President and SSG.
He forgot that he will finish as a father and husband.

I compared him to Biden and I believe that he could have followed the Biden example. Then V.P Biden had a dying son in 2017 and had the opportunity to contest against Trump for the US Presidency but stepped down to support his dying son.

Biden was to sell his family house before Barack Obama intervened and offered to pay for the treatment. Biden's boy made his Dad promise him that no matter what happens, Biden must not give up his life long ambition to be US President, Biden's boy later died. Biden grieved without the guilt of abandoning his son for his political ambition.

In 2021, years after his son had passed, Biden contested and won. There are many Nigerian politicians who will do like Biden but not like Ike.

Family is so important that we even need the approval of a sick dying one before we place anything above their life

That is the lesson Ike missed and about to lose from both ends as his wife who takes care of the daughter remains in prison until July 7.

Last two weeks was Father's Day and I really truly hope that fathers used that day to reflect and understand the real responsibility of fatherhood. It is the hardest job for a man but it gives the greatest reward if you do your best at it.

As a father , I have realized that it is not possible to outsource that role of a father and not pay heavy fines.

May God heal that Ike Ekweremadu's daughter and may God help the Ike Ekweremadu family in this their difficult time. I know it is a difficult place for them May God help all fathers to realise that "your child is your responsibility".

That you pay all the bills and have a devoted and responsible wife/mother of your child won't still make up for your negligence.

Your child is your responsibility and not even your ambition can replace what you will miss if you neglect your role in the life of your child.
Do not be like Senator Ike Ekeremadu who was literally chasing rats around the house when his house was on fire.

May God help us all to succeed and may our children not develop kidney failure ( Amin). May our labour of love and sacrifice be rewarded in our life time and when we are long gone(Amin).

I just don't like people that have the look of that boy (the alleged donor) as they always turn out to be criminals. Apparently,he played a fast one on the Ekweremadus ! Yes, it's sad. The boy could have calmly returned home. Maybe he can always return back to uk for studies or to hustle and will be granted visa given his travel history. But he chose to drag some one else who's daughter is dying foR his own gain. Even if they are politicians, don't play God, maybe the senator can help you with a small token but greed got over him. Guys lets check the character here please. Humility and contentment is key. God bless you

ajl:
This is a case of a desperate young man who rather than return to Nigeria empty handed decided to seek refuge in the UK justice system by falsely claiming he is a minor. The fact that he couldn't provide his kidney after test showed that it won't match meant that he wouldn't have earned or benefited from any agreement he had with the family before. But rather than return to Nigeria empty handed, he choose to make a false claim probably without the knowledge of the repercussion of his actions. He may also end up in jail. I won't say because your average politicians are evil and then promote injustice. Who would boldly go to the embassy with a letter to apply for visa for someone he want to harvest organ from, and also go to a legally operating hospital to carry it out? The only crime of the senator as with other politicians and public offcials is their refusal to build hospitals that could provide the same service in their home country.

I used to be angry with Nigerians abroad. I would shout at the struggling ones..." return home". But the day God opened my eyes, I stopped it. And it is unfortunate, we will keep becoming more nuisance to the outside world. We will be like the Chinese of those days that wanted to run away and the present Indians.

I have written about it...our population is exploding. Nothing is in Nigeria again. There is no job and our people are still giving birth to kids like pigs and rabbits. Poland is just about 37million population while Nigeria is already over 200 million. Look at the gap. And Nigeria is just 3 times bigger. Poland is not that rich too. Imagine our population is cut into 4, people won't be running out like this.

That Switzerland, it may interest you that Nigeria has a better GDP. But when we are too many,...hmmm. What one person should have, 50 are sharing in Nigeria. These nations will not allow us in. It is normal they allow Ukrainians to remain there....but I doubt they will allow Africans to stay. They do not want overpopulation And then those coming in are refugees. Not good for them at all. They know if they allow Nigerians to stay, you will go and start giving births like pigs there...but first, you will start with being stupidly smart by trying to cut corners while making money.

Please, we are the only ones who can educate ourselves. No president can make Nigeria prosperous with this way of our life. We keep giving birth like rabbits. Our GDP is not bad for goodness sake. It's why they say there is money in Nigeria. It can not circulate because we are too many. So, some few people will lay hold of it.

Nigeria cannot get better. It will keep getting worse. The figures are there. So, it is normal for anyone there to want to not return cos nothing is happening at home. But it is the best option to return home. I am encouraging everyone there to return home. Poland will be strict. Poland is just getting out of poverty gradually. She is trying to join NATO too so that there will be more prosperity in the land. Poland cannot afford to take in African refugees.

I have been recommending 1 child per woman every 10 years. This is the way out. The tension will reduce in the first 10 years if we start. And then, the population will normalize itself. Also, inflation will stop increasing. Nothing anyone can do...with this rate inflation will keep going up. This is the truth Ngozi Iweala was telling us but we refused to listen. Then APC came in with lies. They saw it and relaxed. It was the reason Buhari just went all out to "borrow and borrow and borrow" just to set up facilities and his name will not be erased in history. Nothing anyone can do with the present situation we are in.

Now imagine every Nigerian outside without papers returns. Hahahahha. Maybe we will be 250 to 300 million. Who knows?

Let us deal with the foundational problem. Believe me...our GDP is not bad. Economically, we aren't doing badly. Sex and food issues are our problems. Even NL will soon start moving sex, my boyfriend and girlfriend threads as soon as it's noon tomorrow to the front page. And then add snake threads where they are roasting them for gluttons to hail them. Food and sex are killing us.

Wow you are sooo on point. Love the argument and analysis. Yes Nigeria is crazy but yet we are still producing high GDP and generating revenue, I guess something is not right in our communities and overpopulation is probably the problem. Nigeria is getting densely populated. It's crazy and now we are flooding other countries to gentrify thier cities. We have to do something asap. That's why Canada and other countries with low birth rate were opening the floodgates to us, so that we can work and build thier countries while ours remain poor and dilapidated. This overpopulation is causing huge inflation, strive and negative hustle culture that promotes toxic environment (causing people to cheat thier way to Gain something or defraud someone or the system) may God help us in Jesus name Amen.. Africa rise up please!

I personally requested to serve (NYSC) in d north where others find less appealing to them.
Even when I'm called to serve within Africa at anytime I choose like Liberia, S.leone and Nigeria.
I believe we lack access to good medicare and I'm obligated to render d service within my capacity.

It's a choice.

Wow!! Really?!!!! Awesome! This is basically me!!!, I want to give back to my motherland. Africa needs me too and I will Give her my best especially when I'm Young. May God help both of us and others who are in the minority (hopefully that changes positively soon) to develop Africa. It's not an easy road though. Wow you hit the nail on the head!! So apt!!! . So sad with our attitudes, especially when get abroad it's really sad how we have no regard and Manners to our guests and neighbors. We ruin the countries we emigrate to, when we have worked hard to get here. Instead of us to lift ourselves higher and also help the communities we now call our new home. But we try to play smart to cheat them and sadly our own selfs and people. There are many Nigerians who has helped thier fellow countryman with reference, guarantor for accommodation and job opportunities just for us to default on payments and be lousy with those opportunities. Then ruining the Nigerians reputation that helped us. I used to be like you to, but I realized it's the Nigerians that are the problem of our country. Most of my Nigerian friends here in the UK and diaspora have this sad attitude, like *oh I want to go back to Nigeria to enter politics so I can make money and enrich myself and family * With the belief that *that's naija, it's the system, you can't change or beat them so make i go chop my own* instead of thinking and planning on how to give back to our communities and empower them but no it's the same thing that the complain about the politicians because we like to hustle and play smart with people who are honest and kind to us...most of us don't want to sacrifice for anything, we don't want to demand for change and justice in our own countries but rather we ruin other people's homes and countries and think we are sharp. Then we run to church to pray for miracle we aren't worthy of with our attitudes and sow where we didn't Reap. God help us!!!

Ojady:

Rubbish it sounds and is to one of the oppressed Nigerians who want to japa just because others are doing so, and have no clue or plan about where they are japaing to.

As for: " the most educated..." you refer to, an EMPHATIC, YES I AM ONE OF THEM! When you meet a Nigerian who has paid countlessly for the atrocities, committed by unscrupulous Nigerians out here, (including those in Government) you decide, to go EQUALIZER on ANY NIGERIAN who decides to go against established rules. Circa 2010, I was pro-Nigerian masses, ignorantly blaming the politicians and Government for everything wrong with Nigeria. FFWD to 2018 to date, many Nigerians here are simply put, crooked, uncultured, disrespectful and again, UNCARING of the country they have come into.

As per "...learn to love your own" do you mean condone, cover or promote bad behaviour and let innocent people suffer for the mindless behaviour of those before them? How many Nigerians have you loved? If you re based in the diaspora, how many Nigerians, have you accommodated in your house, how many have you helped come abroad and stood as a guarantor for, only for them to ruin your reputation, how many have you loved to send you common leather sandal or email to encourage you when you suffer covert discriminaton out here...If you have not Japa'd (sic) yet, YOU WILL GET HERE and then, you will get to practice your "learn to love your own" philosophy and if you have, you just observe most Nigerians you come across, they really cannot hide what and who they are. Or are you one of them?

As for " the white man doesnt care...", my dear, the white man only cares about his country, his comfort, his convenience and greed, anyone who is not a threat to that, the white man is cool with.

All the money borrowed to fund the corona virus interventions plus the ones stolen by people will have to be paid back, starting in April. I don't want to contribute too much to what I did not benefit or only benefitted little from.
I want to leave for several reasons. I haven't really felt at home here and ideally I will like to return back home. Also, I like to travel and work in different countries, this will make it easier for me to achieve.

OK thank you for replying. I understand, yes UK is kinda going down but they are hiding it and people can't really see it. You are right, why allow the UK govt take from you so much with little in return, and making the public pay for thier bad actions. I have an offer for a job back in Africa and might finally decide to take it and leave and spready wings and windows of opportunities. Same with you, Although successful, I wasn't really fulfilled here and need to make a positive change fast now I'm young. Freedom is here for you and us, lol. Best wishes and God bless you

Citizenship granted. I now have the freedom to explore opportunities outside the UK while you all pay off our debts grin

That's awesome. Congrats @5gee but why do you say pay of all our debts and why do you want to leave?! Is UK in a big economic crisis that makes you want to leave so badly. Please kindly share. I'm considering leaving the UK too. Thank you

Hi, Please I have a question, I am currently registered for batch b nysc, I wanted to find out when you can start work at your ppa with the camp finishing on 14th December for stream 2. I need to travel for a medical treatment in January, so I might not be able to start my ppa till 1st week of February. I am just trying to decide if I should defer the nysc till batch A 2016 or start this Nov and ask for about 1month leave in January for the treatment. Question is how soon can you start the ppa, especially as camp finishes 1 week before XMAS, does that mean you work during xmas? Please help thank you!!!!
