I really don't feel very comfortable when people sound as if one is cursed if not running his own business. Am not against self employment or personal business don't misconstrue me, but please hear me out. If everybody runs his own business; how are we gonna have the conglomerates and the multinationals that we have today? Do u expect every business to be a one man shop or what?

I believe that people can have joy and satisfaction pursuing their carrier, either by serving an entity or being on their own. What we need in this part of the world is to have proper structures for running business and also enshrine dignity of labor in our business environments. People at the top need to eschew high handedness and stop being self centered. The evil in our land is that employers are so relegated and not well catered for, while business owners are busy living large, things now turn out to master-n slaves scenario instead of employees being seen as stakeholders.

Please hear me again, am not saying people should not be on their own, i ve got my my pans for my personal business, but i disagree with the school of thought that except you stand on your own , you cant be fulfilled. Its the capitalist nature of our environment and the corrupt and selfish attitudes of our leaders at all spheres that make thing loook that way.

I stand to be corrected
well said.

My grandmother was a deeper lifer too, she didn't really like my mom because my mom refused to be "In bondage". She thought my mom was a sinner because she used jewelry, and so on and so forth. She even got angry at my mother for getting ear piercing for me and my sisters so i can relate to all those things. ahh Those good times we use to follow her to church, and we will always hear about trumpet sounding.
i grew up as a deeperlife memeber too and i think thier doctrine helped shape me. I left because church services were becoming "boring"

Phones / Re: Nigerians Spent N603.2bn On Phone Calls In Six Months - Investigation by kumbalo(m): 6:59pm On Aug 18, 2012
Les: I've been pondering on this maself. I miss Nitel of the good old days. This is just ma thought and not a fact. The amount an average primarY skul pupil spends in a month to buy airtime might be half if not upto wat nitel bills in a month, the total amount a sec skul student spends in a month to recharge might be upto twice of wat nitel bills in a month if not above it. A uni student, ofcourse will be higher. Finally coming to dads and mums and other young boys, young ladies and young men especially those that are into business. The amount they spend in a month is incomparable to wat nitel bills 4 a month. Those days, i dont think nitel bills upto 3k in a month despite the fact you'll make calls witout any interruption (one minute remaining-very annoying), but ma dad gives me 3k to buy mtn airtime 1.5k, 2 at once o in the morning alone plus other subsequent ones dat follows as the day goes by-750, 400- i don think he goes below dat. The worst fact is dat 4 example, Mtn is owned by S.A, all this money is being used to boost their own economy, imagine where 9ja makes this kind of revenue through communication sector(nitel) under good governance, you know d kind projects it would have covered? I weep how 9ja relegates their indigenous technology for foreign ones- toothpicks(am pretty sure our forefather didn't know wat toothpick is but they ate bigger animals like elephants). If only 9ja'll bring back networks like nitel where one pays only at month ends at minimal cost, this would have been an advantage to us, afterall that's how other countries operate- USA, etc!
as for the last sentence, it will not happen...NOT NOW. We've been sold out. You need to know how many people get paid from the MTN contract. I'm a nationalist so i don't encourage their biz. Thoug it may not count for anytin but i'm happy i did
