Chuck87: My interview: Got up at 3, did some good praising and worship and prayer. Needed it Got there at about past 5, at 6 they began the regular checks, the whole time I was singing and reminding my FATHER under my breath that it's HIS turn oh, to do what we have been talking about. Anyways I was called at about past 10 and here is how it went Me: good morning sir CO: morning CO: please sign these forms here CO: do you swear to say the truth... Me: I swear CO: are you so and so? Me: yes sir CO: why did you apply for the programme? Me: because I felt it offered a better opportunity for schooling and work and to further better yourself then I mumbled a bit CO: nodding, are you travelling with your wife? Me: wife?? I'm not married!! CO: never been married? No kids? Me: no, no, no Co: have you been to the US before? Me: yes, once Co: what purposes? Me: j1 visa, work and study sponsored by my school and cieee Co: where did you stay? Me: Montana Co: surprised. Co: nods. Ok. What were you doing? Me: worked at McDonald's Co: did you like the food? Me: free food never tastes bad Co: laughs. Then I tell him about some of the places I visited. While I was talking he was returning my original documents and approving my visa All this took less than 3 minutes oh. Meanwhile, when I came he was the co I was trying to avoid, he turned out to be really pleasant! I give GOD all the glory cos it's not cos we deserve anything more than the other but HIS mercies! TX loading yo! Congratulations Chuks my broda. Welcome to America! |

tolubillion: . Pls which flight did u booked and at wat range I booked Delta Airline which took me straight to Atlanta (My Port of entry)before boarding another flight to my destination. It was quite expensive though (N300+ per person), perhaps because we travelled during summer and our 'destination' is not a popular one that cheap airlines like Emirate, Qatar or Turkey fly directly to. Where are u heading to? |

oayombo: Please house, i need this urgent info. I have a relative that won as a single, got married and even had a child before her interview. They were all granted visas. The issue now is, i want to help them pay their green card fee and they are sceptical about case number, they have different case numbers on their visas but on the slip given to them at the embassy only a unique case number was written there. They all have different alien numbers, obviously. So my question is, which case number should they use. Idriez is right, just a little addition; Your case no is ur AF no and its just one! However for a winner with beneficiaries i.e. spouse and children, 01 is added to the case number of the winner (principal applicant), 02 to the spouse, 03 to the 1st child, 04 to the next and on and on. Alien number shouldn't be a problem because that is written clearly on the white paper given to u 2 the embassy for each person. Regards. |

Hi my peeps. Just to intimate u guys that we (Myself, Shewen4God and our daughter) arrived America a week ago (North Carolina to be precised) and we had a safe and interesting trip. We thank God for His mercies and ur prayers as well.
We are settling in gradually. We've filed in for our SSN and we were asked to wait for a minimum of 10 days before we get it. We hope to receive both greencard and SSN before month end by His grace cos a lot of things we need to do here depends on those two items.
Lastly, this is for the ladies that won as singles i.e. played with their maiden names. You are expected to effect ur name change on ur passport in Abuja (if u already had a passport before you played)before going for ur interview so the name on ur visa can bear ur husband's name and you wouldn't have to go thru what we went through, trying to change it now in the USA. We travelled to the USCIS office within the state and we were asked to wait for the greencard to come out first after which we will fill a form for change of name and pay $300.00 for them to change the name on the greencard. You need not go thru all these.
Best wishes for those still waiting to be interviewed. Regards. |

I got to the embassy 4:18am, waited till 6:20 before we queue according to the type of visa and appointment time. After the security checks, we were ushered into interview hall, paid $330, tendered my credentials and waited close to 2 hours for my turn. People with kids were first attended to before adults. My interview was short and simple. I was interviewed by the handsome young guy on window 15. He was nice to me and asked me questions relating to my about my education. Below is my conversation with him:
CO: Good morning Me: Good morning sir (with a smile) CO: I will like to take your finger print Me: finger print capture. I raised my right hand and oath was administered.
CO: details of your education with date Me: bbbbbbbbbbb CO: Have you ever been married? CO: any kid? Me: No CO: Congratulations.

But, we did our traditional wedding in December last year, not yet done the white wedding though! And not planning to do it soon, finance and all. Well! He filled the online application as a single man but he wants to include me in the selectee's information to be sent to Kentucky as his wife so we can travel together. I am worried. Will his changed marital status affect his visa outcome? Its a risk worth taking as long as u guys are sincere. She showed him wen he wus askin ow we met n repeatn d question all ova. Good pipo ov nairaland the CO opened my wifes FB wall n mine, he later asked me if ds is me on a printed sheet wich my FB wall was on. I ans Yes n was stunned. Al d birthday picture n weddn pictures we posted on FB was printed out. I m not a FB person so d pix I had on FB wansnt mach tk God for my wife who posted most of d pix n she also bears my Family name on FB.
I don't knw why our interview went lik dat may b cs we were quite yung. After al d drilling n all. We were so exhausted n I was cold cos arund 4pm d hall was almst empty. I felt dy would put us on AP but to God be d glory @ about 4.30pm we were d last set of pipo in d hall jst me n my wife. Al other windows were closed d CO called us n he brought two white sheet n told us to pick d visa up. My wife hugged me with tears n I alst did d same but as a man I held it back. We were so api we jst stepped out ASAP n forgot to collect our NPC n my wifes result plus marriage cert. We went back for d docs today n picked it up.
Prayer is the key even with al docs pls focus on God. USA here we come! I and my wife cnt wait to land in Chicago. Praise God! Congratulations. Really tough but thank God, it's victory @ last! Did u guys marry after the results were released? (though that shouldn't be the reason for the long interview). Thank God u scaled thru. Welcome to America. |

mata1ng: I thanked God for His goodness upon me and my family, the tension of over a year finally become real today. Thanks to every members of this great forum indeed it is a tutorial centre and information centre for the immigrant (EXPO). You guys are doing a great job from page 1 to 763 pages no be moi moi. God will reward you all. I have been following this thread from day 1 and it’s my turn to share my experience. We got to the embassy @ 5.55am for 7am appointment pass through all security checks before gaining access into the hall. We were given a tag and made payment for $990 and waited for our names to be called for documentation at the window 17 and asked us to wait for our tag number to be called for the interview (I thought it was going to be a board room interview but what I saw was like a child’s play) I did not know the interview was already going on because we entered the hall a bit late due to the security check. The guy in window 14 was friendly and straight to business no waste of time he approved 5 families before we were interviewed by the nice elderly man @ window 16 who also approved 3 different families before our turn but thorough. There was a particular couple he interviewed one after the other for like 3 rounds and they were with baby but he later approved their visa, but the oga at the window 15 only interview one applicant for more than 1 hour and he asked the man to produce a particular document before 1p.m. (Please when you are seated try as much as possible to see what is going on because while we were seated we saw the positioning for the thumb print and I explain the process to my wife as this gave us some credit because the CO was just saying beautiful good till we were done). Our number beeped at window 16, we were asked to raise our hand to raise our right hand to take an oath, we did. He showed us the document sent to KCC and asked us to sign and we did. He saw us exchanging our baby who was sleeping to another to enable us complete the finger print and signing so he asked my wife to go and sit down with the baby that he has some questions for me.
Co: why did you play this lottery Me: To enable me go to America to learn new things and give back to the Americans what I’ve learnt Co: Do you have any relative in America Me: Yes my host ( He checked the form and mention his name and his address) I said yes. Co: How is he to you. Me: A family friend. Co: Apart from your host who else do you have in America Me: No one Co: Any member of your wife family in America Me: No. Co: Tell me about your highest level of education. Me: When I sent the form to KCC I had OND but now I am through with my B.sc Co: In what? Me: Banking & Finance. Co: How many years did complete you programe. Me: 5 years (He wanted to raise and exception and I quickly told him it was a part time programe) Co: Oh I see. Me: I smiled. Co: Do you have any other child apart from your son? Na so God do am ooo. He still dey do me like a dream. Congratulations. Really interesting testimony. Ur experience was VERY similar to ours. We were also interviewed by the elderly man but he was in Window 13 then. We were asked similar questions too and I remember our baby was sleeping during the interview as well (though she woke up when we were about to be granted the VISA). Really amazing!!! Question: Was your wife not interviewed as well? So when are u guys planning to move? We are moving soon by His grace. Best wishes. |

Regulars on this forum, where are you guys?? This forum is getting boring!!! Yeah, I know most of us are thru with our visa processing but settling down properly in a 'foreign land' is equally important. Your inputs are still very much needed here both about your experiences over there and responding to questions begging for answers here. I'll attempt to mention a few names: Adesojiaderemi, Gentiger, Temmytanny, Godhelpmeooo, Junkerhill, femsoj, Spoondar, Leripa, Honeydee, Brightmoon, Imcool, Jamaicanlady etc. Where are u guys?? Abeg show face o! |
