madridsta007: Of course. And I think they know it. (Meanwhile, I was being sarcastic there). I have followed events in Nigeria for over 2 decades now and I have been priviledged to have read about Nigeria's pre-colonial, colonial and post-independence times. There is one consistent theme (amongst others) and that is the amnesiac nature of Nigerians.
Nigerians forget a lot.
So I expect the South West to attempt to galvanise the "South" through their immaculately gifted press-men. Eventually, when the Fulani Cabal goes in for Tinubu. Which they would. Would they win in their attempt to galvanise the Southern base? From historical evidences, they would. Nigerians are forgetful. Dangeorusly so. Would that "remove" Buhari and his Fulani cabal? It depends if they reach out to another part of Nigeria to build an alliance. If they do, then they would remain. Nigeria "exists" on the foundations of a Tripod- Hausa, Igbo, Yoruba. One can rule effectively standing on 2 parts of that tripod. Yes, Nigerians use to be forgetful but not anymore with the advent of social media and citizen's journalism. The SW has lost the hegemony on the media, nobody will listen to their cries of 'aluta and activism' when they leave the high table again in Nigeria's volatile political system where Opposition becomes mainstream and vice versa within a twinkle of an eye. |

Omoodua007: Getting it wrong Loool we played opposition deliberately and we built the wealthiest Region in Nigeria / west Africa
We removed military from power and grew the seed of democracy
Now we are ready to play mainstream politics
So shut it You have 0 clout You have 5 states Yorubas occupy 10 We have more political clout than you Lol..Nobody plays opposition politics willingly in Nigeria. Not even Awolowo who tried to be president severally or MKO. You wanted to be at high table so you can 'chop'. So shut it! Those of us who have have studied Nigerian politics know that a politically volatile and unstable country such as this can never have permanent mainstream and opposition players in the politicosphere. Your seat at the high table is not permanently guaranteed. Even you know this. Same with East and others. So quit being airheaded. Every other thing you said is just a piece of nincompoopery. |

madridsta007: The whole of Yoruba land would have staged a second Occupy Nigeria Protest. Sowore would have galvanised using Sahara Reporters medium.
Anyway, I trust the South West. They will soon protest. They are not hypocrites so they would protest this rubbish. I trust them . There is no protest that will come from yorubaland that will be supported by the rest of Nigeria anymore. I still feel like a fool trekking from the streets of yaba to Gani fahwehinmi freedom park to protest the fuel price hike during GEJ. I feel used and ripped off. The whole thing was a scam. What if I had been shot that day? |

You only started getting your so-called mainstream political calculation right in 2015, just a few years ago, you've been getting it wrong since 1960s till then. Stop insulting people, yours is also likely to fail too one of these day. Don't be an airhead. |

jumper524: lol, it takes a northerner to understand their politics. Stop analyzing our situation we know and understand better. Come 2023 am voting a competent southern candidate and majority of we northernerns are doing same.. Note: majority of Nigerlites are Muslims including the Gbagyis there. and for the records, religion is never a voting factor in Niger state, southern Kaduna the only region with high christain population approximately 75/25 yet in terms of final result in the entire state, it was still 54/46.
Face it: religious sentiment is dying by the day in the north. Kaduna and plateau state of today can hardly ever have religious crisis unlike previous years, people are getting smarter by the day.. Another conveninent lie you are blowing here is that religious politics is dying in the north. It's a lie you are telling yourself in order to sleep at night because you know that the same anti-southern/christian propaganda that APC used in 2015 and 2019 to mobilize almajiri voter will be unleashed on you if the SW contests in 2023. |

Mind you the north never voted against Atiku because of peter Obi. You guys can keep deluding yourself in the lower political space all because of the mentality of "i was right all along" Things have changed over time and things keep changing. You better move with the pace or you derail with previous results.. That the north voted against Atiku because of Peter obi is the biggest lie you SWners always peddle because of your knack for propaganda, you also wanted VP the ticket for SW in pdp and it wasn't given to you that's why you are bitter. Your major aim in 2015 is to shut out South East from both parties but it didn't work out. Atiku/Obi got more votes from the North than many of us even expected, including you. Stop deceiving your hateful selves. |

The easiest ways to make seperatist group like IPOB lose their ammo is to ensure the presidency moves East. We are well aware that there are elements who enjoys the pain and resentment that the East is going through. The only reason they want the East to be denied presidency is not because their lives will be better but it is just to continue to taunt the East. These people know themselves are all over this website. These anarchist elements are more dangerous than boko haram, opc and ipob put together. They know themselves and must be checked. |

Although sources said APC plans to delay the selection of its Presidential candidate in 2022 to see how PDP solves its own puzzle, the idea of retaining the Atiku/Obi ticket sounds a plausible option. I still maintain that PDP must never make the mistake of zoning the 2023 ticket till APC zones theirs. APC is the ruling party they should take the first step which will determine how PDP shoots. If it means postponing the PDP national convention, so be it. But PDP must never choose it candidate before APC does, if they are wise and serious about 2023. |

It's going to be a tough one for Akpabio. Akwa Ibom is a core PDP state including his own local govt. If he resigns his ministerial post, he might lose at both end and become vulnerable.
He should be wise like Ngige, Sylva and co just stay in his ministerial post. APC's fortunes in SS states are worse than in the SE. Ekpeyoung is likely to still have him thrashed at the re-run.

partnerbizn5: The executive is the problem. They have so much powers. The ultimate power is guns.
---Mao Zedong
The court can give orders but the judge won't go there to challenge those with guns, if they fail to respect the order.
Another issue is our culture and orientation. We don't respect institutions. This exactly why the FBI, police and CIA are under the Department of Justice (DoJ) in the US. The white man knew that absolute executive powers corrupts absolutely. Black man should learn. |

The same people who want to stiffle social media were the same people who rode on the same social media to denigrate and insult the office of the president during GEJ's time.
Anyway when the bill becomes law, tobcall the president to order on social media will lead to imprisonment. Many will go to jail. They are already testing waters and have already stiffled the print and conventional media with fines, license withdrawal and threats of shutdown. Channels and AIT are case studies.
I also wonder why the sponsorers of anti-social media bills are always from the north. Last dispensation it was Sen. Na'Allah who sponsored the failed bill during Saraki's time as Senate president, today it is another senator from kaduna. This is really disturbing. |
