SarkinYarki: The crew flew by the book , one engine lost thrust at V2 the pilots followed the safety checklist by making an air return with the remaining engine . Great flying , this is the simple procedure the crashed Dana's captain refused to heed since he didn't want to miss his own flight to the US Sometimes it's just the emotions of the pilots that actually mastermind the cause of plane crashes. If they follow SOPs, and routine checks without beclouding their sense of judgement, there will be hardly any crash. |
Politics › Re: The "I Don't Have Change" Syndrome In Nigeria by LabDNA: 6:58pm On Nov 05, 2019 |
Staro: OP, the right place for this topic is the Business Forum.
This very bad habit is common among Yoruba traders in Lagos (Excluding Yorubas in Ogun, Oyo, Ondo, Osun and Ekiti). Ibo traders in Lagos will hardly turn you back because of change.
You approach a Yoruba woman in Lagos' shop and the attacking question you get is "what do you want"? (or " ki le fe?" ). Seriously, this question disgust me, especially the English version. I could tolerate "ki le fe" but I fire back immediately when they ask me "what do you want"
You are very right Yoruba women traders should stop using the phrase 'ki le fe' (what do you want). It makes the customer look like a thief who is being challenged. |

Whenever I decide to enter a public bus, even if the conductor shouts 'enter with your change', I'll still enter with my N1000 or N500. It is his responsibility to have change not me. Ofcourse they usually lament when I bring out the money to pay but I just keep shut or tell them politely that I have no other money. I never argue with them. One way or the other, they end up giving me my full change/balance or forfeit their own money.
Having money should make thing easier for me not harder. |

ProWalker: So you know you can’t dictate to people In democracy but you are always quick that Nigerians must elect an Igbo man as president
You see baa? ? You are the most hypocritical person on NL.
Very disgusting thing you are It is the people that dictates the politicians, just as the yoruba asked for the speakership and got. Give us an instance where APC dictated to the SW? Look if you people are not ready for real democracy, why not start campaining for the suspension of democracy and enthronement of military autocracy but count the SE/SS out of it. Your 'by-force' 'Imale' mentality makes one wonder if you are really ready for democratic government or just deceiving yourselves. |

mercyville: The first step is to tell all your people to become APC card carrying members, your representatives included.
Ohaneze,Ipob and massob will come out to voice out their support for APC.
You will vote in APC governors at least in 4 or all your 5 eastern states.
You would sign an agreement (international observers will be present) that when you are made president, you would not be vindictive especially against the North, you would not split the country etc.Are you ready to do these?
The people you are dealing with are smarter than you are. That's not neccesary, you cannot dictate for them in a real democracy. It is the party that wants the votes not the other way round. How many states in the SW were governed by PDP when OBJ was president under pdp? Was Odua people congress pro-pdp or pro-AD in 1999-2007? Like I said you can't dictate to people in a democracy, if you want autocracy, plan a coup, suspend democracy and then start dishing out orders but for now allow democratic waters to find it's level. |

respect80: You're right but not absolutely. Not absolutely in the sense that you're even considering the possibility of APC giving their ticket to SE. From all indications, you seem not to understand the reproach and bitterness with which APC as a party has for the SE. Don't even think about it.
I think the main uncertainty surrounding 2023 is whether the north will yield to the SW by giving APC ticket to a south westerner. And if they do, I think PDP would be reasonable enough to give theirs to the north thereby throwing the north's loyalty on a scale to see if they will snub their own and vote for the south western candidate. It is not cast in gold yet that APC cannot zone the East. They also want the goodwill of the East and have lost vital grounds in states like Oyo and Ondo in the SW. It is commonsensical that they try to make up for that by patronizing the SE/SS bloc which is a powerful voting bloc just as the NW/NE. If they must make better inroads in the south, an Eastern presidency ticket is their surest best. It will threaten PDP's stronghold and throw them off balance. Practical politics |
Politics › Re: Any Igbo that ask Pdp for Presidential ticket is an Apc mole! by LabDNA: 2:48pm On Nov 05, 2019 |
mercyville: Your practical politics will kill APC because you will vote for PDP thereby taking power from APC.Do you think this is right and will APC like this scenario? At that level it becomes candidate-dependent. If the candidate in APC is Dr Ogbonnaya who is highly cerebral and have been with Buhari since ANPP days and PDP props up Ekweremadu the yam eater, the East will vote APC at the drop of a hat! It will be good for the polity. Let the party choose the best from the zone. |
Politics › Re: Any Igbo that ask Pdp for Presidential ticket is an Apc mole! by LabDNA: 2:17pm On Nov 05, 2019 |
kelvinginzie: I see some south west haters of igbos here are now advocating that Pdp should give igbos their presidential ticket knowing it will end in a great loss. They think they are smart, they want Pdp. To field an igbo candidate against Tinubu/Apc, knowing that it is just like fielding India against Brazil. Why didn't Apc south west contest in 2015 and 2019 for the Presidency. They think they are smart Any igbo that ask Pdp for Presidential ticket is an Apc mole It is conditional. If APC gives the ticket to SE, PDP will do the same. But if APC gives it to SW, yes anybody who is asking for PDP to give to SE is a mole who wants an easy ride for SW presidency after the SW have been in presidency for 16years. If the SW can't wait for SE, then they must be ready to face the North+ SE+SS . It's practical politics. |
