Any muslim who leaves Islam, in my eye, is a complete idiot. And the reason is that the religion is the only one that fits human nature and elevates the humanity in all of us. It encourages the doing of good, and discourages the doing of evil. Why will anybody leave a sure thing, under One Single God, the Creator, Allah/Eloi the Almighty, for clearly a deviation, which is the belief in more than One God, whereby one of them was a human slaughtered senselessly on the cross, so that his soul could be cursed?

What kind of elevation of humanity?

The one where a muslim is worth more than a christians, and a christian and a christian worth more than a Jews, and a Jew worth more than an atheist, and if all these are men they are worth more than women? And the eltisim system starts all over again? Seriously? That is elevation of humanity? Where some people are worth more than others? That is elevation of humanity?

Try again, elevation is when everyone is equal and treated equally in society and religious practices. You are in the U.S. with the freedom to practice your religion, and your taxes are not more because you are a muslim, you are not subject to any oppression because you are muslim and the laws of this country are built on the principles of Christianity.

In muslim countries, Christians can't even walk on the same street as muslims, and they have to be subjected to the jizyah tax because they are christians, they have to pay money to believe what they believe. They can't even pray their prayers, but you, you do so freely even in the work place. And you want to say that islam elevates humanity?

sorry, but if i was a jew back then, that would convince me of his holiness, yet the jews still turn and don't believe in him plus, this would have been noted by the josephus, philo and the talmud and the other gospels as well as written into the mishna (oral law and history). they are totally silent on all of this. this would have been one of the most important stories in human history. matthew claimed it was seen by many yet names none of the witnesses or who the saints were. if you notice, the bible is big on naming people as a rule. so lady how does writing to different audiences explain this?

He mentioned that religion or believers is one of the main reasons why Nigeria is in the state it is in, and I am asking how so when the US is also very much as religious and not in the state Nigeria is in.

It is saying that we shouldn't take on an unbelievers belief, we shouldn't follow them in their paths and become unbelievers also or become lukewarm or hide our beliefs or be like them. But it in no way states that you cannot marry an unbeliever, and that you cannot associate with them. If anything this verse would be a better argument for not associating with unbelievers than it would for not marrying unbelievers, as the point of marriage is not even hinted here.

To be unequally yoked with an unbeliever is to be holy and to be yoked with them is to be unholy with them, so what leads to unholiness? Marriage with them? No, just because one is married to a serial killer doesn't mean that the person committed the crime and has a hand in the killings, and that doesn't mean that the person condones such killings.

In all the passages about being unequally yoked in the Bible, both in the Old Testament or the New Testament, yoke never referred to marriage, but to a person being holy.

A person can still be holy even while married to an unbeliever.

You're choosing to read that verse in colored glasses. It starts off by saying: "If any brother has a wife who is not a believer and she is willing to live with him, he must not divorce her".
- "If a brother has a wife" . . . It is already established here that the two people are already married. Not that the brother is going to get a wife who is not christian

A palestinian who was just learning about Christianity or reading the bible and got sold right away after the first verse of "forgiving or loving your enemy!" Was he not aware that the Qur'aan contain many and clearly more superior verses talking about forgive and kindness to your archest of enemies? So when will you guys make up your mind on how the quran is to be read, because it is either there are abrogations or everything is binding for all time, so which is it?

Sex achieves the following purposes
1 Reproduction
2 Recreation
3 Relation

You were right on one, Reproduction. You do not need to have sex to have recreation, you will be satisfied by other means. You don't need to have sex for relation, before sex occurs there already is a relation, you don't just point to a person and have sex with them. Even in one night stands you at least know something about the person.

Reproduction is the only thing that is reliant on Sexual organs. It is the main purpose of sex. The ends is procreation, the means to the end are recreation and relation.

Because we are complex beings we have found means to seperate them, thus one can gave sex for a variety of reasons. I hope you know there is something called IVF and so sex per say does not have to be involved for one to reproduce.
One can choose to have sex for any or two or all of the three purposes.

IVF is unnatural and even that cannot be done without the reproductive system, and that's what I've been getting at. Most people don't choose to have sex for procreation, yet procreation occurs, why?
Most people choose to have sex for relational purposes and yet they end up at procreation, that's why we have abortion and birth control pills and condoms, why do we need this if the main purpose of sex can be relational or recreational?

I am not a sex professional, but I don't need a textbook to tell me that when a man and woman have sex the end result is procreation. These professionals only elaborate more on the practice of people today. They don't state what the main function is for, they only state that well nowadays people are using sex for exercise and relational purposes, because these just happen to be the benefits.

We have shifted the purpose of sex to include many other things, and that is why we are having homosexuality and are now trying to define it as natural to the human species.

Catholic dogma is Christian dogma. There wasn't supposed to be any confusion in the Christian community to begin with, when people strayed from Christ's Church we started having church of this and church of that. There is one Church with authority, and that is the Catholic Church. People mistakenly think that Catholic is a denomination. It isn't, it is one of the descriptions of THE CHURCH as in the BODY OF CHRIST, as in what he asked his Church to be.

The feasts of unleavened bread lasts for 7 days, the first of those days being the passover.

They are on the same day. I believe I mentioned somewhere earlier that in order for one to understand the New Testament, one has to understand the Old Testament.

um it wasn't written to hausa people neither was it written to english people, and I didn't say that mountain would be changed to plain if it was translated to another language. I am saying that when Matthew wrote his gospel he painted a picture the Jews would relate to, and Luke painted a picture that gentiles would relate to.
So it doesn't matter if you are reading it in gibberish, it will still remain that matthew painted a pic for the Jews and Luke painted a pic for the gentiles.

uh yeah, you actually need to study the culture and time of the people to understand what the writers were trying to say. These books were not written for Nigerians, they were written to a certain people, so we need to understand their culture first and their language possibly to understand what they are saying. This is why the Church is the interpreter of scripture.

oh my goodness go and actually learn about these people that lived in that time. we can better understand what they're trying to convey and why it is the writers used different descriptions to tell the same story, when they do so. Let me tell you a little 'secret'. Jesuits are much more involved in INCULTURATION now especially in Africa and Asia. Instead of imposing European philosophies and viewpoints on Africans and Asians, Jesuits are now trying to find out what God could have been saying to these people through their customs and way of life. The outcome of this has been very very interesting. The rest of the Church will be very surprised at some of the results!! Especially in Africa!!!

The simple point here is that a christian should not marry a non-christian. Its different if one converts during the marriage, the biblical directives are different for that situation

How can one convert if we are not allowed to marry a non-christian in the first place? There would be no need for that passage then.

There isn't a passage that states that we cannot marry a non-christian, however because we know the hardships in marriage it is always easier for us to marry within our beliefs.

Personally I am not looking forward to marrying a non-catholic, I don't want any confusion in my home, but if the person God truly wants me to be with is non-catholic then so be it.

Marrying a christian does not guarantee the marriage would work and marrying a non-christian does not guarantee the marriage would not work.

These are things that come with it. The usual end result when proper sexual intercourse takes place is procreation, it just so happens that it is pleasurable. Pleasure can be derived from many things, but you can only procreate through the sexual organs/reproductive systems.
A benefit of sex is a boost to the immune system, whoo hoo, however, the immune system can still be sustained with other means, infact if one needs a boost in the immune system the cure is not sex, but you can only procreate through the sexaul organs/reproductive systems. Sex is also beneficial for good exercise, but we all know that when someone is obese the doctor doesn't prescribe sex as a type of work out, they are to go running, walking, dieting, lifting weights and all that. So as you can see exercise can be gotten by other means. But you can only procreate through the sexual organs/reproductive systems.

To have sex, one needs to move, that gives exercise, exercise is moving, and it helps boost the immune system, but we all know that the sexual organs/reproductive system are used for procreation. That is the only way you can procreate, that is the main function.

The mouth is not a sexual organ, the anus is not a sexual organ, the hand is not a sexual organ. The sooner we start remembering that the better for us.

This actually helps my argument. The male and female sexual organ compliment each other, even for men to get pleasure they need some kind of a hole. Firstly,  I  am calling for atheist, agnostics, skeptics and doubters to readily self-identify within their communities.  As is evident from some post here on NL, there are many atheists, agnostics etc, here whose close family are not aware of their non-belief in the family's local deities.   Self-identifying within you community liberates you to lead a philosophical consistent and intellectually satisfying life.

Obviously, self-identifying will attract criticisms from the religious members of your community.  This is where educating the religious public comes in. To effectively educate them you have got to be able to show that the religious claims are simply falsehoods and you have got to be able to offer a better approach that is more consistent with the nature reality.

In fact, what I am suggesting is akin to the civil rights struggle of homosexuals and African-Americans in the USA.  How are we going to break down the marginalisation and bigotry against atheists if we never self-identify.

You are calling for what you've been fighting against, that's what's making me laugh. Oh I get it, I get it very much. You however don't seem to realise that all you've been fighting against, is what you are trying to accomplish.

Please do not identify the struggle of African-Americans in the USA with the struggle of homosexuals and atheists. Look at the people that fought for civil rights, they are religious people and they will tell you that being black is not a choice, homosexuality IS a choice, it has not been proven to be genetical and natural, and until then it can never be identified with the struggle of AAs.
