What I am trying to say to lady is this, when a story is being passed down generations by generations it is bound to loose some things, the general message usually remains the same but the story itself changes with time.

Oh hun, it's not that I don't understand your point, I do understand it. I won't recommend that people use "oral tradition" to pass it down today, but that is today. Back then, it was the only sufficient way, and for something sacred, i doubt they treated it lightly as if it's some "story story" or "tales by the moonlight"
Like I said the Jews are still succesfully passing down sotries word for word, and they've been doing so for at least the past 5000 years. How difficult is it to realise that if they've been able to preserve it for so long with the changing demographics of the people, that those before them who weren't facing the challenge of a changing demographics would be able to preserve it fully?

You still haven't answered my questions. Should lying and murder and stealing be allowed by the church because people are doing it?

The Bible and Torah are the same, word for word. The Bible is the Torah with addition of the New Testament. The Old Testament of the Bible is the Torah.

Old Testament = Torah.

Nothing is ever perfect. Yes there would be need to change it because of the ever changing and growing world and minds that reside in it.

It was the best way at that time. That is why I stated that it is relative to time. If our children of tomorrow find our methods to be inefficient does that mean that the conversation we are having at this point is untrue? Does it mean that the history books written down are untrue about history? No it doesn't. It only means that at this particular time it is what is efficient.
Oral communication was efficient at that time, but today it is no longer efficient. But that is not to say that because we today don't find it inefficient, it must have recorded false things. Just as it would be wrong to say that because our children will find our method of communication inefficient in the future, we too have recorded false things.

I agree the example I used was behavioural tradition, but there had to be an oral backing the slaying would not go on without an explanation.

It stemmed from a belief system. Oral tradition is not particularly a belief system, but a recording of historical happenings. Just as you don't have to have a set of beliefs or believe in God to know that world war II happened in history. It's just a recording.

The church is not ignoring the facts facing them, it just simply would not choose to have a double standard and it wil not waver in a belief.

Actually there are very high rates of breakthrough ovulation, we know this is possible because a lot of women on the pill do still get pregnant. But with the hgh concentration of chemicals the child is unable to survive. But look up more on that.

I think you should go ahead and tell me where it is in the scripture that it is against God's law.

There is no scripture talking about contraception and you know it. Neither is there scripture that tells you the different ways of murder. It doesn't outline, well if you use a gun, it is murder, but if you use a knife it isn't murder.
Neither is there a place where it states that certain lies are worse than the other.
It all falls under the no fornication and adultery rule, and the be fruitful and multiply rule.
I will have to start getting technical about the whole issue, but since you say you were raised Catholic, you should know about this, unless you were lying about that.
It is against God's law because it doesn't allow for his will to be done. If he says I want you to have a child, it is not up to you to say no not now.
That is where the whole God's will comes in. And it is also against natural law. Plainand simple. The woman's body is already designed to make sure there are times that she won't be able to get pregnant, and there are times that she will, why start creating a whole new timeline. Unless you're trying to say that nature isn't sufficient.

That's the thing the "intent" to prevent conception is not there. If the intent to prevent conception is there then the couple is wrong. The intent of the billings method is to space out conception without the "intent" to prevent conception. So if a couple happens to get pregnant in the time frame the woman is not ovulating then they are to 'intently" keep the baby as a blessing.

And please refer me to a journal on your assertion that marriages without contraception last longer.

That's a book that talks about issues like that, it is from 1992, however contraception was rampant at that time too, so it is still admissible.

It's quite difficult to find these things as it seems you're expected to buy the articles, lol.
But I am not at home and do have a book that contains information on such articles, when I get home I will look it up for you. Or you might want to do the research for yourself.

But not just in articles but also in the way the world has shifted. There are more people getting divorces today ever since contraception became an issue.
Those who engage in premarital sex are often left unsatisfied by their spouses. Those who cohabitate before marriage are more likely to get divorced sooner.
You can certainly get info on these if you research enough.

Why is it that couples who don't use contraception have a longer lasting relationship? Because they invest in the relationship, and take responsibility for the marriage.

It was strictly historical and not belief.

You're right it wasn't about Osama, it was about weapons of mass destruction that was never found.
And since when did that become an excuse to terrorise people. Granted there were terrorists in Iraq, but when they got the chance to get Osama, they shifted focus to Saddam, that is very suspicious.

4) On the issue of oral tradition I think you were just all over the place ( I don't want us to debate how long ago writing had started ) , at that time I would say oral tradition was easier, but I think the bone of contention here is if it distorted the story.

So how is it that after almost 5000 years the Jews have been able to hand down oral tradition without distorting the message. Today it would be difficult to hand things down orally as we've already been conditioned to be writers and "storers" in computers and the likes.
But for a people that lived in a community and held these traditions to be sacred, I doubt they left much room for any distortion.

My dear you can ask any body involved in communication and they would tell you just how bad the distortions can even, better I will urge you to do an experiment write a short story down and read it to a friend, then ask this friend to tell this story to another friend and by the time it gets to the tenth person go and hear the story and compare with your note to see how it has changed. It may have been the best then yes but it distorts story which is very important to us. Plus I do not think its an insult to say it was not effective, sad but thats the truth.

Using the present day to define the past doesn't make sense. You don't take culture of today to define the culture of yesterday.
If the information I am handing on to my friend is considered sacred, you better believe he or she would transmit it responsible and with reverence. That is the difference between transmitting non sacred information and sacred information. If it is considered sacred it wouldn't be passed down lightly and without reverence. We're talking about sacred tradition not just any random tradition. You're talking about a people that have so much respect for God that they did not see themselves worthy enough to say his name to the point where vowels in their language disappeared form the language. It is not any type of information to be passed on, it is sacred information. If you are treating it like any information, then it won't make sense to you, but it is not just any information, it is sacred, and have you ever tried having a discussion about something sacred with someone who believes strongly in it. They don't take it lightly. So it's not a regular information that would be taken lightly, that's what you're leaving off your discussion, that sacredness of information.

It is offensive, because centuries from now, our great grandchildren or great great granchildren will look at our methods of communication as inefficient, and here you are thinking that it is efficient. It is very relative to time. If you feel that our method of communication is efficient, you would feel offended to know that your own future generations will consider you're reasoning minimal. You are in turn doing to the past generations what the future generations will do to us.

Tradition does not always speak the truth, does not always hint at it, traditions are mostly practices that stem mainly from the beliefs of man at a certain period of time. The killing of twins in calabar was a tradition but certainly not the truth or even a hint at the truth of how twins came about.

Ok here you're talking about a practice that is stemmed from something. The tradition you're speaking of is behavioral. The tradition I am talking about is oral. There is behavioral tradition that is handed down and then there is oral tradition that is also handed down.
Oral tradition is pretty mush a telling of what happened. The tradition you're speaking of is the doing of something.

i) The catholic church adopted the position of aristotle that the sun moves round the earth, it was a well know tradition then. When Galilleo came up with proof that it was indeed not true the church was stuck with the option of either saying its "scared tradition was wrong" or that galilleo was wrong, what did they do? They convicted him for heresy and he was imprisoned for life. The church recently apologized for it and have changed that "tradition"
ii) Fast forward to today, the church has strict rules prohibiting the use of contraceptives even though surveys have shown that 80 percent of sexually active adults do not adhere to this, they however approve of the billings method which is another form of preventing pregnancy but this time naturally and the man ejaculates inside the woman but the intent of contraception is there. Many lives are lost every day in africa to Hiv Aids especially in Kenya where there is a large catholic population, lives are going and you are holding on to tradition?

There is a big difference between the first scenario and the second. No where in the Bible does it say that the earth is flat or that the earth being round will go against natural law. That is just out of ignorance of the earth.
The second scenario is against natural law. The prohibition of contraceptive is not a "condoms are bad thing" situation, but that it is against the natural law of life or God's will.
Second it is a double standard and against God's law for the Church to permit the use of contraceptives, particularly birth control, most forms of it are abortive, and that is against natural law not just God's law. Life begins at conception period. The fetus is not a thing until it is born, it is human. Just as a baby grows into a full adult, a fetus grows into an infant. If we're going to start to see it as different, then why don't we permit the killing of infants before they are adults, because just as the fetus grows, the infant grows.
Let me put it to you like this, I have an urge to kill therefore the church should permit me to. The church is against killing of people but I don't want to adhere to that rule so the church should go ahead and change its stance on me killing people?
Does that make sense to you?
There is no such thing as a pick and choose commandment to obey. You are not supposed to be having sex before marriage, and then after you marry you are supposed to be faithful to your spouse, tell me if these people stay true to their faith, how then will they contract HIV/AIDS sexually.
If the excuse is that they don't adhere to it, then a murderer doesn't adhere to the no killing commandment either, should the Church change it's view about that. If they're Catholic and decide to go killing, well they're not adhering to the Church's teaching so why shouldn't the Church change it's teaching on the killing of people and allow them to go on a killing rampage.
These people have chosen not to adhere to the commandment of God, then they should go ahead and not adhere to the Church of God. You can't say o I can't maintain myself and I know it's wrong so I will have sex outside of my marital home, and then turn around and decide to obey the Church's teaching on contraception, so all of a sudden they have respect for the church now?
The Church isn't liable for the decisions of these people. They are. Yeah I know they're living with HIV/AIDS and I want to feel sory for them, but they cannot hold the church liable for their actions. They can't in one instance obey the church's teaching and then a blind eye to the other teaching. That is utter disrespect for the Church and God.

The idea that the church should change its teaching on contraception because people want to have sex is absurd.
People want to lie to get themselves out of situations, should the church now say that lying is okay. Lying is even more popular than contraception. Everyone will lie, but not everyone will use contraception.
So should lying be allowed now?

By the way the issue on contraception is not a "tradition" or something that we want to do because we want to be hard headed, no it's a law of God. It goes against God's law as well as natural law.

Also studies, yup that's right facts show that marriages that don't use contraception last longer, are much stronger, and are more meaningful. Why? Because both partners take responsibility in the relationship, and they appraoch the relationship not as a something to do, but life itself. They guard it.

Also Pope Pius IX (I believe that's the one) who predicted the troubles we would be having in our society today. One in particular, is that women are not valued as they used to be. Now there's this chance for a man to sleep with a woman and leave her, because he knows he has no responsibility to her. He's not tied to her in anyway, and with the contraception he doesn't fear that she could become pregnant. It is an easy way to get out responsibility.

As for spacing children, the billings method is very effective. It takes responsibility in the marriage from both the man and woman, not just the woman alone. And it promotes trust in the marriage. Why would a married man need condoms? He can freely have sex with his wife. He should have nothing to hide.

It also makes sure that the couple are not objectifying each other, and using each other for sex. If the relationship is built on the foundation of I gotta have sex, then it is more likely to fail.

it has stood for 2000 years so yes, I believe it will. Once again it isn't just some tradition, we're not going to go against the law of God. Whether you like it or not. Whether it is popular or not. Whether people want to adhere to it or not. God's law does not change to fit the popular vote, or to fit what humans want. Humans change to fit what God wants. Not the other way around. But I'm sure this is lost on you because you don't believe in God, but if a person does believe in God and has this view then they need to reconsider if they truly believe in God and worship God or of they believe in themselves. Both can't be masters.

They will applaud me for being disciplined in my faith, and putting God above myself. Oh and for not following the bandwagon of "well everyone's doing it"

I am sorry that you weren't properly catechized as a Catholic. I always say, if someone is properly catechized and are active in their faith, even if they're not so active, they will not loose faith. because they will know the truth. I hope you remember what catechized means.

Well I am supposed to be working with abused kids in a house, but when the storms came by a tree fell on the roof of one of the houses. So the kids are all in one house and they don't need that many personnel. I have to wait for a few weeks for them to fix the house. I don't know how long it will take and they don't know either. So my best bet is to find another job.
I was really looking forward to working with these kids, I love children.

I certainly agree with you the bible is not a scientific book, so also is the quaran but if they are to be held up as holy books or book of truths they should pass simple tests that are believed to be universal its that simple.

It is truthful universally, but it highlights the truth of a Supreme Being and not a scientific truths, so to measure it in the "truth" that you're thinking of is comparing apples and oranges. You can't use another standard to measure another standard.

I think you may believe that religion or at least the christian religion is a theory or an ideaology, that is a big mistake on your part. You're approaching it from an angle that it never claimed.

As for the quran, well I've heard a few muslims claim that it is a scientific book. So you can challenge them on that. But to apply that to the Bible, you will hit a very massive dead end.

But it is our belief that science helps us to understand clearly the truths of the earth. I think you might want to know more about the Christian religion before you start jumping to conclusions as to what it is. As we as humans grow and we educate ourselves more, we learn a lot more about the earth, and to tell you the truth it helps a lot with the Christian religion. I know it seems so impossible, but it is our belief that everything on this earth has been given to us and as time progresses we learn more about the earth and uncover more about the beauty of God's creation.

By the way creationism is not a theory, nope not an ideaology and the Church doesn't think of it as one. But a lot of people on the outside looking in, don't even try to learn and understand it. They make claims which leads to clashing with the religious

Be careful not to put your own meaning of holy and truth into the Bible. Holy is sacred, it has nothing to do with outlining every dimension of the earth, or mathematicl methods. Same thing with truth, it is not meant to outline the dimensions of the earth, or the scientific method, or mathematics, it is soley to give focus to the Supreme being and It's relationship to the human race and the earth.

I mentioned that if the Bible was to have ALL the stories of people on the earth, there won't be enough books for it. To even write about ALL the things that Jesus did while he walked the earth, there won't be enough books to contain it, not to talk of what's been happening from the beginning. But you are entitled to your own point of view.

As for moses, yes he had first class education which would have included the story of cain and abel and not that he was inspired.

You seem to be contradicting yourself here. First you state that Moses is inspired and that God isn't, and now you're stating that Moses was not inspired. Please choose a standing point.
But to address the issue at hand. Moses was inspired to write down these stories, and while writing it down, God made sure that he wrote what needed to be written, basically the basic points that will send the message. The stories are not the "inspired", his writing of the stories are "inspired". The stories have been passed down from generation to generation for many centuries.
The stories he got it from the Jews, don't forget that the Jews lived in Egypt before Moses birth and while he was growing up. So you are right to know that these stories existed in Egypt at the time Moses was alive, the people who guarded the stories as sacred or holy lived in Egypt.

Stories being handed down as tradition without writing cause stories to be distorted, and that is the reason why oral tradition is highly questioned its a lot different from writing.

So then the histories of people were supposed to do what, linger away until someone who could write would surface, how did they even know of the concept of writing to even wait fo it.
Every people have their own way of preserving their history at that time handing down of tradition was the perfect way to preserve it. Today, writing it down seems to be the perfect way to preserve it, infact the computer is becoming the perfect way to preserve things, soon enough writing down will be gone, and those after us will think that writing down was not an efficient way of preserving things.
You cannot take the "technologies" of today and apply it is efficent for the past. People in the past did not necessarily think like us, and did not live like we do.
It is actually insulting to think that they're not efficient in preserving their history.

With that being said, you do know that the Jews don't have all their tradition or holy "scripture" written down. You do know that for at least the past 5000 years they have efficiently preserved their oral tradition without any changes to it, word for word. You're expecting those people to not be efficient in preserving their history or their ancestors?

Whenever there is a conflict or a clash of stories one can always refer to the written copy so that they know if the story has been distorted or not

There's never been a clash or at least not until 100 AD. And you know that's a very far time frame from When Moses wrote down these stories.

Besides if they were handed down them it might have just being a traditional story and not what really happened.

You might do well to educate me on tradition really, because tradition speaks of the truth or at least hints at it. It isn't just made up. Tradition is a truth of something that is handed down. Tradition literally means to hand down. It doesn't mean that if it is tradition it is made up and untrue.

I think it is wrong to say that the bible is a scared tradition, I am in awe, oral tradition is the worst way to preserve a story and besides if this was a book inspired by God then it should get facts straight

To you oral tradition is the worst way and that's because you live today. Moses just gave us a piece of ancient egyptian mythology. The dates of the writing are not in any way confused with the actual dates that these events were supposed to have taken place these writings were dated but the dates of the events were calculated from then.

Really? Because the stories speak about the Jews and not the Egyptians, so did the egyptians all of a sudden think highly of Abraham.
And that's kinda funny seeing that history or factual history tells us that the egyptians didn't believe in one Supreme being, they had several gods. And why would they paint themselves in a bad light. That just doesn't make sense.

Good points but I think the bible is faulty with historical facts too so don't be too quick to blame only allah, you say the question I asked is ridiculous but the story of cain and abel is big in christianity.
There is historical evidence that the story of cain and abel was already on before moses was born and was widely known in ancient egypt, do you think some of it might have crept in?

On the contrary, the Bible is not a scientific book, therefore it will not satisfy the scientists taste, when he or she looks at from that view alone. The Bible is more of a send the message book, and telling of the power of God. believe me if every single thing was documented there won't be enough books in the world to contain it.

Now as for the story of cain and abel being on before moses, that has always been true. The Church has never claimed that the world began when Moses started writing. Moses did not witness all these things. Infact Abrahamic period was full of nomads, who did not write. But the stories were carefully handed down as sacred tradition over the centuries that man had occupied the earth. This is why Catholics believe strongly in sacred tradition. The Bible itself is sacred tradition. After all it was by sacred tradition that the Isrealites were able to know the name of God and recognise it when Moses spoke it to the Isrealites and they were able to tell that God truly sent him. Certainly common sense will let everyone know that Moses was not present on the days of creation. But it is our belief that God preserved these truths about himself and the world until when it was able to be documented.
It wasn't until the mosaic period that man was able to write, and much more legibly than before, Also Moses was very educated. He was raised as a prince in egypt, the egyptians were much more advanced than those who surrounded them, so moses could read and write, he basically had first class education.

But these stories, leading up to the Mosaic era, that you read in the Bible were handed down from generation to generation much like how our ancestors in africa did. That was the only way to pass on history. It was quite simple because they always lived as one family, and the community was not as wide spread as you may have it today. Where mum and dad live in one state and the kids are in another. They lived among each other, mother, fathaer, cousin, nieces, nephews, and even at that time cousins were to be righfully married. they couldn't just take a trip and come upon a damsel and choose her to marry as is done today, no they were supposed to marry within their kinsmen.
It is rather something to be admired, because even till today the jews still have the same oral tradition that is passed on and it is unchanged. So i do believe strongly that these stories were well preserved not just by man but by God as well.

I think the misconception is that everyone is expecting these stories to date back to when they were first written down. That is only dating the writings but not the stories. The stories date farther than the time they were actually written.

I think you don't give Adam and Eve enough credit, they probably weren't stupid. Ever heard the saying "nothing is new under the sun"? We do not know. But it is quite irrelevant to the message to be gotten from the story. The Bible does not need to start pinpointing and naming people that existed at that time. The Bible tells us that Adam and Eve had more children other than Cain and Abel, but their names were not mentioned, why? because the point was about the jealousy of a brother to another and the result of jealousy and the consequence of the result.

Then you haven't read fully the Old Testament. Infact the Old Testament is full of the Love of God. You have it in your mind that God decides to kill people that don't believe in him. Well do you know that there were many times the Isrealites worshipped other gods? Why didn't God erase them from the face of earth? Because of love. ANd it's not like they only did it once, they did it many times. Yet he was full of forgiveness and came up with many ways to rescue them from their sins, until he was to send the ultimate ransom, his Word in the flesh.
The thing of the old testament is that the concept of all that was done never goes away, for example the law, but the methods were to be done away with. For example the sacrifice of the lamb to atone for sins all the time or at least once a year, was a method that was done away with but the concept of the sacrifice for atonement was not. Jesus became the ultimate sacrifice, and therefore no more lambs or goats or whatever were to be slaughtered at the altar.
The laws in the Old Testament all derive from the ten commandments, they're just in more detail, but they all have one root and that is the ten commandments. Christ fulfilled that law, and set the proper interpretation for it, after it was abused by the Isrealites many many times and misinterpreted by them.

There is a saying that the Old Testament is the New Testament, hidden. And the New Testament is the Old testament, revealed. I hope you understand that.

Yeah the Bible is still debatable, but the apparent facts that all mankind know that are not dated back to the first year are well documented, and those are the facts that allah got wrong. Ask any muslim, they will tell you that nothing has changed in the quran, as it was recited to muhammad so is it documented. With that claim, I know that allah isn't God, but human.

As for the Bible we never stated that God himself wrote the words down. We've always held that the writers were inspired, and only those things that God wished to be written was written down.
The "errors" that may arise are mostly from copyists mistakes, and not from God being wrong, and these mistakes are very rare. They do not undermine the meanings of the Bible. The most someone can come up with is a word missing here and there, and that's it. But the message has never been changed. That is a fact, since you like dealing in facts.

The only way we are able to understand the divine is by the grace of God, God grants us the graces to think like him. Our first parents choose to disobey and therefore introducing sin to us. With Christ coming he set things in the order it was always meant to be. Those who want that order listens to his word, those who do not, forsake his word. Those who do listen are to be like him and walk in his footsteps, that also includes thinking like he does. Therefore taking us to think the way we were supposed to. After all there were those who were unable to understand the "right" way to think or the way God thinks.

So yes we are to be like Christ and be transformed from glory to glory.

As for the going into church. we may get into another matter, than I don't have the time to get into, but I will state my point.
I am Catholic, if I attend a Catholic church that is doing the exact oppostie of what they are to do, they wil be reported. Truthfully a lot of Catholics keep the leaders of the Church in Check. There is accountability.
Even if they celebrate the mass wrongly, they are called to it and must rectify for it. There is no room to abuse the House of God.

Smae goes for anyone who is a Catholic. They are automatically excommunicated from the Church (Body of Christ) upon engagin in such an act. She may attend mass, and not tell anyone of what she's done, but she cannot hide her act from God. And if she were to die before reconciling with the Church, well I'll leave that to your imagination.

McCain talks about bi partisanship. Well Obama and the democrats agreed to offshore drilling as long as the oil compaines don't get tax cuts. McCain said no. Why? Because it doesn't provide tax cuts for the oil companies.

He keeps stating that Obama wants to raise taxes, I think he's really delusional because Obama has been talking about cutting taxes for the longest time. But wait a minute look at the people he's talking to. He's talking to wealthy republicans, so ofcourse Obama wants to raise taxes for the rich and cut taxes for the poor and middle class.
By the way, the census is that republicans are richer now than they were eight years ago, and everybody else is poor, hmm I wonder why?

He's talking about reduction on dependence on oil? and he wants more drilling? he says that with the tax cuts the oil companies will research alternative energies. That was the plan eight years ago. bush laid out that plan, well eight years later we still haven't researched alternative energy, but they've been getting the tax cuts. and the CEOs have been getting raises I know because I've met a good number of them, they come to my business school.
Not just that but he has voted against alternative energy EVERYTIME, and up until a few months ago he still had that view and was against oil drilling, but wait a minute he wants to win so he adopted the same ideas of Bush.
He's saying he's not going to be like Bush, but watching him in March on Meet the press, this guy says that he is in support of Bush's policies, and then standing in front of the senate house stated that he's voted with Bush 90% of the time.

People are loosing jobs left and right and I fell victim to that, thank God I just found another one. But it isn't enough to pay all my bills, so I have to cut back on a lot.
Thanks to Bush I pay money out of pocket, and with this job, I can't finish paying the tuition I owe, because it doesn't pay enough. So when graduation comes by I won't be getting my diploma, until I work some more and finish paying, but here's the down side to that still, I can't get a job and keep it without my diploma. I may get it but I better produce it soon enough or else I am gone.

He keeps talking about the lobbyists being gone from washington, yet his campaign is being run adn funded by lobbyists and big oil companies, at least $1.5million comes from the oil companies.

McCain does not in anyway address the issues for me or my family or anyone I know.

The only thing I may agree with him on is Pro-Life, and I don't even trust him on that, I also don't agree in the way they think they will stamp out abortion. Banning it won't stop it. His position is not even to ban it, but to allow the States to be the ones to make that decision. He wants to overturn Roe v. Wade which I would support, but finding out that McCain wants to get rid of equal pay for women, I don't trust that overturning Roe v. Wade is about abortion. Soon enough he will take away the rights for women to vote and the next thing you know slavery is legal again.
The people that preach about this and hold everyone to a higher standard, can't even live up to that standard.
Everyone is talking about how immoral Obama is because he thinks a woman should make the choice for herself, yet they skip the fact that McCain committed adultery twice on his ex wife, and even before divorcing her, made plans to marry Cindy.
And them Cindy as rich as she is, still finds the need to steal from her company.

When will we start asking this man to explain himself with his contradicting views. First he's with Bush and now that he realises that won't do him any good, he says he's not with Bush. But he still has the same policies as Bush. I am still waiting for him to show me that he is different from Bush.

I have heard too many lies coming from his mouth. I thought maybe I will get the courage to vote for him until he picked that hypocrite of a lady. And the reason he picked her bothers me. Seriously does he think women are so stupid that they will vote for anything in a skirt.

I believe that Republicans try to stay mindful of the fact that whatever they focus on grows strongest and beneficial to the world and they do their best to breathe deeply and make sure they are focusing on what America and the world want - not what they don't want. Iraq war for a example is a project I support anytime but many people have continued to lash Bush for that war without getting the terrorist real message. After America is destroyed, Britain will follow and their plan to Islamize the whole world is their for all to see. We need someone who will continue from where Bush will stop until every terrorist group is found and eliminated.

Do you know that Osama Bin Laden owns a lot of land in the US as well as companies, and that they are helping the american economy?
Do you know that they almost had Osama Bin Laden when they went to Afghanistan, but then shifted the focus immediately to Iraq and Saddam Hussein?
Iraq and Afghanistan don't share a border, how did Osama end up in Iraq in one day?
Where are the weapons of mass destruction that were never found?

i listened to Gov sarah palin's speech this morning and men i was impressed! in fact, for some minutes i became a republican . . .

Her resume looks good, but when you poke deeper you will find hypocrisy written all over her. I liked her at first and what seh stood for until I realise she i sno different from the others who do the opposite of what they say. She makes the whole abstinence issue look bad. She wants abstinence to be taught in school, yet her underage, unwed daughter is pregnant. All people are saying is look what abstinence talk does, she gives us a bad name.
She is always holding everyone to a higher standard, but she doesn't want to be held to the same standard. It sickens me.
She wants girls and women who get pregnant to keep their children, yet she cut the funding for the program that helps these ladies keep their children.
I don't understand the republican mentality.

I liked her at first but doing my research on her led me to disappointment. I didn't listen to her speech I was at praise and worship at the time, but I heard the commentators talk about her speech, and I hear she dissed community workers. That made me upset, I am a community worker, when things go wrong, I buckle down and volunteer to help make it right, and here she is making fun of the community workers. They said she pissed off a lot of firemen, police officers, and the likes last night.

She needs to be careful dissing Obama on that issue, because it will be detrimental to her. Obama gave up wall street for main street, and he reformed his neighbourhood, and organised community workers and got benefits for them, that is his golden egg. She needs not touch that. It will backfire a lot.

As God in human form, I believe he would have had to experience the full gamut of human emotions to fully identify with us. Being without sin has nothing to do with experiencing failure. To fail is human after all.

Fasting is very good for us to consecrate and concentrate our minds and beings on the Lord but it is not made compulsory in the Bible

If we are to be "Christ like" why not be like Christ and fast as he did. Besides the Bible and yes the NEW TESTAMENT speaks of fasting.

To the person who said no Old Testament, on the contrary the Old Testaments help us in our belief as Christians, Christ did not abolsih the law he gave the proper interpretation of it and put it back in order. The way it was supposed to be.
It is hypocritical to pick and choose what to believe in the Old Testament.

Hurricane - can this affect foreign exchange? We are serious about this, whether dollar will fall and we suffer it in forex. Guess, we are much afraid the way we place trade order especially any currency pairing dollar.

Natural disasters does have a play in trading, especially hurricanes and torndoes. They generally hit the shores where the oil rigs are, so speculation before the hurricane hits drives up the cost of oil. The cost of oil shot up before the hurricane hit, but when it did hit the cost fell because the hurricane was not as harsh as expected. So with that being said, the dollar did not fall, infact it increses, so right now it's still good.

But be careful, because we have Hanna and Ike on their way here. Hanna shouldn't drive up oil costs because it's headed my way, my location is a bit out of the way of oil (as long as they don't start off shore driling in Florida). But Ike is still suspect.

Pain and misery are negative feelings and therefore associated with failure.

So a litle child that gets molested by her step father feels pain for the rest of her life and is miserable for the rest of her life, does that mean that she is a failure?

It is not a denial of divinity to state that Jesus experienced a sense of failure. As you've said, he was human. Therefore he would have had all of a human being's emotions. An ability to experience failure is one of the attributes of being human.

He was human in form, but not in sin, meaning he could do no wrong. To fail is to do wrong. He did no wrong and did things perfectly. Christ did things perfectly. He was without flaw. To fail is to be filled with flaw, sin. Get it now?

As Carlosein said Nigeria is a blessed country, no natural disaster. We only experience human disaster. Looting and other evil caused by human beings. Nigerians suffer as a result of it. I pray for the souls of those that died.
