IslamRe: Can Women Be Leaders In Islam? by Lady2(f): 7:15pm On Sep 23, 2008
In other words,i am simply trying to let you know that  Islam accepts that all human beings are equal, and should be dealt with according to the principle of equality.
Are you sure about that? If that is so then the shaira law must not be true Islamic law?
Or the quran may be wrong about the value of human life?
Why is it that a man is valued more than a woman, and then a muslim is valued more than a non believer, and then those who believe in God are valued more than those who don't.

I mean seriously when will the story be straigtened out. Because if all human life is sacred and should be treated with dignity, you might want to educate your middle east brothers about that, even those that are not terrorists. You will do well to educate your muslim brothers in Africa too.

By the way happy ramadam, I believe it's still going on.

speaking from both sides of the mouth.
You forgot that women are also said to be deficient in intelligence and most in hell fire are women.
if not why would the tesimony of 2 women be equal to that of one man?
Thank you. No matter how much they try to get away from it, it still remains. Some will say that those are the sayings of the prophet and not of allah, well if the prophet cannot be trusted with the words of allah or be trusted to interpret correctly that which allah has revealed to him, how can they tell that he truly did receive the revelations.
Because the quran is based solely on what muhammad claimed.

We are not saying every letter is mythologically, what we're saying just as Olabowale said is the bible we have now is corrupted. The fact that most files in your windows registry is corrupted or modified, does that mean you can't get some programs still running?
I am still trying to understand how it is it was corrupted and by whom and why? I want to know how logically it could have been corrupted and which of the sayings in it were corrupted and how is it that the Torah is corrupted even with the prophecies and how it is that those corrupted prophecies came true in the New Testament and the Jews and the Christians disagree on that issue, but it is stil corrupted? How can it come true if it was corrupted? I mean could men outsmart God? Do men have control over the happenings of God? I mean seriously, someone please make sense of it for me.
And I would like to know how it is the evidence that has been accumulated over the centuries could have been corrupted too? Because those evidences are in line with the teachings of Christ that muslims do not accept?
I would also like to know how it is allah can be so untrustworthy, you know he can change his mind whenever he wants and for whatever he wants, but he cannot stay true to his word. Wouldn't that mean that he didn't care to be truthful in the first place?

Hmm well hopefully I can receive some answers finally instead of people dodging my questions and going on a let's see the faults in your own religion first.

Shey e never do u people?
I guess not.
But people need to understand God and the way he works and before they speak they should do some research. I tell you a lot of things in the Catholic Church is simply common sense and when people start to think, they will understand.

It's so funny, a friend of mine who is converting to Catholicism was telling me about something her mum said. Her mum called her and said "Baby, I tell you, you should stop following the teachings of man, stop folowing what man said, John Hagee said that the Catholic Church is the LovePeddler of Babylon."

I thought that was the most hilarious thing I ever heard. "Bible believing" Chrisitians come against the Catholic Church saying that we go along with the interpretations of man, I wonder are their pastors not man? And they honestly can't say that they don't need pastors and such because that is going against the Bible. If they were not needed why did Christ instruct the apostles to go teach. Was the teaching supposed to stop after their death?

When will people start using common sense?
Christianity EtcRe: Is Christianity Just A Religion Or A Way Of Life? by Lady2(f): 6:54pm On Sep 23, 2008
The reason why I believe that affee is confused is that a lot of people profess a certain religion yet their lifestyles are nothing compared to the dictates of their religion.
I see it as food for thought.
Then affee should learn more about what religion is, and affee should know more about her religion.

It is not necessarily food for thought, because it is very evident and not complicated. People are people, they're humans, and affee should know that.
Christianity EtcRe: Catholics And Confession by Lady2(f): 6:48pm On Sep 23, 2008
Is it right to worship the image of MARY Just because she was the mother of our lord JESUS?? DIDN'T THE 10 COMMANDMENT SAY THY SHALL NOT BOW DOWN BEFOR ANY GRAVY IMAGE, did the bible say except that of MARY?
Ur statement would actually make sense if the Catholics do worship the image of Mary.
Also can you please tell me the difference between Jesus' flesh and a man's flesh? Or Jesus' human form and a man's human form?

why do u ve to confess ur sin to God through a man like u? jesus siad if only thy shall confess ur sins and forsake them i shall forgive u, I wonder why we should go and confess to the chatolic priste or pope, who will the pope confess to when he sined against God?? on the last day the pope shall give account of himself and not you, he is carrying his own cross, (example)TAKE IT THAT THE POPE IS NOT PURE IN HIS HEART AND You GO CONFESSING UR SIN TO HIM, WHEN THE BIBLE SAYS THE PRAYER OF A SINER IS AN ABORMINATION TO GOD. UR SIN WILL REMAIN IN You BECAUSE THE MAN WHOM You SEE AS A PURE MAN IS NOT.
Well then the Bible was wrong in saying "Confess your sins to one another and pray for one another that you may be healed"
So it's either the Bible is wrong or the Church is wrong which one is it?

I AM NOT HERE TO JUDGE THE POPE BUT TO tell u to do according to the bible, ur sins will only be forgiven if u confessed it to God and not a man who is dressed holy with the most expensive gold in the world The Bible says love not the world neither the things that are in the world. All the images of MARY AND CROSS OF JESUS IS GOLD is that what God really cares about? Be wise don't be deceived, (many shall come in my says the lord) Jesus christ whom the chritians follow was not even worshiped the way the pope is today. Read more of ur bible and be watchful for no one knows the time.
Well thank God that Catholics believe that God forgives sins. You would do well to know the Bible before you speak. Do not deceive yourself.

I would really like for someone to give me a definition of religion because last time I checked your religion directs your way of life. If you were a muslim you lived life a certain way and when you became christian you lived it the christian way, I mean seriously can we please change the slander that has been placed on religion.

Your religion is your way of life.

i really hope not lady!
ahn ahn u don't want me home?
or are u saying so because u don't want mccain to win?
which one e be?

no we don't celebrate mass in latin in naija, we just pretend we speak latin while we all sing in our various languages:
hausa, igbo, yoruba, efik, ibibio etc. and trust it will all be converted to latin before God hears it
and you are welcome to join us in your languagetin

and you got that correctly too!  how u doing and texans too?
cry cry cry and here I was looking forward to coming home to celebrate mass in latin, but I love our languages and it will enjoy celebrating mass in them.

Yes I got it right, thank you Lord.
I am well and texans are hanging in there, with the country in financial crisis it is difficult to render help to people. We have disasters left and right. Homes are going and last I checked I believe there were 51 deaths or so.
But I am glad my Godchild and her parents are just fine, we had to convince them to leave the area. I told my mum to tell them that they need to take my baby away from the path of that disaster and they listened.
But please keep them in your prayers, many people are homeless now and with the financial disaster on wall street it is difficult to help them, insurance companies are in turmoil and i don't know if they'll be able to pay for the damages from these disasters.

Carlosein, lady how are you guys doing?

Lady did i hear you well, that if Mccain win, you will come back home.  Why?
I am great, how about yourself.
Yes ma'am I will be coming home, i was coming home anyway but I think I might be coming home sooner than I thought. If mccain wins I will have a better chance getting a job back at home, that's how bad it is here. He doesn't even understand the economy to come up with a solution for it. and his advisors think we're all whining. If these people think nothing is wrong how can they even help us?

@lady,
don't underestimate our naira oo! it would soon be an international currency . . . lol
as for McCain winning the election, don't worry, we'll be glad to have you back home! lol

and yeah, we celebrate mass partially in latin (high mass). . . don't mind carl, lol
Lol, ok I won't underestimate the naira. If I have any say when I come home, it will increase in value o. Thank God someone wants me home.

I noticed he was joking after I read his post. I am coming home to celebrate high mass o.

Ok all I love you, Jesus loves you, Mary loves you, share the love please. Bye.

Christianity EtcRe: Atheist Testing God With A Prayer by Lady2(f): 11:26pm On Sep 20, 2008
@cayon, iám a christain, but just to correct you, no one knows the birth of christ,25 of december was a date set by pope gregory, who also made the present calender in which we use today.

also, easter was a day set aside but the jews in respect to a god called eastern, it was a coincidence that Jsesus died on the same day.

but nonetheless christains allover the world have agreed to this dates to worship our one true God.
Please don't insult the Jews with your ignorance of their religion. Easter is not celebrated by the Jews. It is celebrated by Christians.
As for December 25. Here's why it is on that date.

The Church has two themes in the liturgical year: Christ Our Light and Christ Our Life.
Christmas is celebrated during Christ Our Light, which is made up of Advent, Christmas, Epiphany, and the Baptism of the Lord.
The exact date of Jesus' birth is unknown, but to determine when to celebrate his birthday this is what was done:

Jesus said, "I am the light of the world." If Jesus was the light of the world, what time of year does the light begin to increase? After the shortest day of the year, the winter solstice, daylight increases, second by second, minute by minute, until we have the longest day of the year, the summer solstice. After that, the amount of daylight begins to decrease, little by little, bit by bit, until we again reach the sortest day. So the light increases after the winer solstice, which is December 21.

St. John the Baptist, the cousin of Jesus and the one who was witness for Christ said, "I must decrease, so He may increase. If John said he must decrease, so Jesus can increase, when does daylight begin to decrease? After the summer solstice, which is June 21.

Since the calendar year was changed from the Julius Ceasar calendar to the Pope Gregory one, a few days have been moved around here and there. In any event, the Church picked December 25 (close to the winter solstice and after the shortest day of the year) to celebrate the birth of Jesus, the light of the world, by using a calendar date that coincides with the increase of daylight. The birthday of St. John the Baptist (I must decrease) is celebrated on June 24, shortly after the summer solstice and after the longest day of the year, when daylight begins to decrease.

There that is why December 25 is celebrated as Jesus' birthday.

you're RIGHT!
one million naira for you!     lol

yeah i love the latin version of most of our prayers, especially the "hail holy Queen" - Salve Regina!
I love to chant it in latin gosh!
whenever i want to pray and seem to be at lost for words, i simply chant the latin version of this sweet, angelic  praise to our lady, and all the words would start flowing! so lovely!

alright, wishing y'all a wonderful day!
One milion naira, abeg wetin I go do with one million naira, make that dollars jo, and not Zimbabwean dollars o, I mean American dollars, actually go ahead and make it naira, America's dollar is going down the drain.

People if McCain wins I am packing my bags an coming home sooner than I thought.

Yes I am learning some latin songs now, and when I read in Latin I try to make the connection in the english version, I am gradually learning to read Latin.

don't you just love those latin hymns  the salve regina is one of my favorites too!

lady, how u doing?
Yes I do, they're great. I love Tantum Ergo Sacramentum. I attended a Latin Rite Mass and it was beautiful. They did a few things wrong though, but I loved it, and really wish more of it would be done.

love is even an understatement!
do you know that during mass, when we chant the 'gloria' or the 'credo', i get this rapturous feeling! as in! . . . i find myself in a state of ecstacy! the organ playing, the whole congregation chanting away in the language of the church . . . i mean, they all get me frenzied! i just simply love it!
Do they celebrate mass in Latin in Nigeria? I want to come home now  cry

aha, those days when i was a catholic , i always got thrilled at priestly ordination when the litany of the saints is been chanted in Latin. the ordination candidates will lye around the altar why the Ora pro nobis chant goes on like a sweet smelling sacrifice. .and the parents or relations of the new priests will be weeping. I used to think that one day i will lie on the altar while the Ora pro nobis goes on. I miss the church .
Latin is the language of the church and my dad being a former choir and i can still recall the Latin chants. ah, why did i leave?
Oh dear why did you leave? You have been provided with so many graces and gifts and they're all FREE, and loving. Why would yu give that up?
If only you understand the reason why things are done a certain way, you wouldn't leave. If you knew the special graces and the freedom you get from the sacraments in the Church, you would appreciate them more. My favourite is the Sacrament of Penance, the healing that comes with it. It's amazing, and to think I went 22 years of my life wihtout it.
I really pray you reconcile yourself to the Church, and receive the graces that are lovingly and freely given to you.

Dominus vobiscum <--- i hope i spelt that correctly.
NYSCRe: How Relevant Is National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) In This Dispensation? by Lady2(f): 10:36pm On Sep 20, 2008
While i may not be advocating total scrapping of the scheme, i just wonder if that is how it works in other places, especially America, where they have such schemes.
The scheme is not in America, when I mention it to some people they wish they had the scheme. It would help them secure a job.

Why is everyone thinking America, America, America, people are dying in America and the government is stealing the money. The economy just went down the drain. Stay there looking to America for help, they can't even govern themselves.

The equivalent of the NYSC is an inernship here. If only you all know how difficult it is to find an internship. You have to compete for it. NYSC you don't compete for it. It is an opportunity to gain some knowledge about your field or to give service to the nation.

Remember someone is always worse off than you are. People that are calling for the scrapping of the scheme are selfish. They don't consider others and how they can help them. No they're only thinking of themselves, and yet they're quick to say the government cares for itself only. They're no different from the government.

Anotha ques is:Can God actualli REGRET an act he carried out even while he knew its outcome from the start?
I will continue with my example from above. Parents will regret letting the child make that choice themselves because they will see how much pain came , but that doesn't take away from the fact that everyone has a choice to make,
free will is the key here. Whether the decision will be regretted or not, a person has a right to their own will, they have a right to make their choice.

Huxley,

I think you're confusing resepct for unexamination.
You can disagree with a worldview and still respect it.
For example I disagree with atheism, however I respect whatever reasons you give me to the belief of it and I respect you for it. And in return I expect you to respect mine. We can have dialogue without you calling my belief barbaric and outdated. Just as you would get offended when I said "intelligent" people lacked reasoning.

We can dialogue without disrespecting each other, or insulting each other.

No one wants to dialogue with you because for someone who prides himself with being knowledgeable you are very rude and uncivilized.
Christianity EtcRe: Strictly For Christians! by Lady2(f): 11:51pm On Sep 18, 2008
I have to agree with David look at it this way.
Parents know their child is not going to make the right choice in a situation, but alows them to make their choice anyway. I believe that is called free will. It's a gift given to man by God. It is the Power that we have. SO just because our parents know that we won't make the right choice doesn't mean they have to impose their own choice on us. It is the respect that they give us to be the individuals that we are.
But being great parents, when they see us fall, they're right there to pick us up.
That's why God is truly FATHER!!!

Christianity EtcRe: Questions For Christains by Lady2(f): 12:27am On Sep 18, 2008
I do not agree with these.
If he knew, He wouldn't have created man at all.
Ok it is fine to disagree. You have your own free will grin

Genesis 6:5: The LORD saw how great man's wickedness on the earth had become, and that every inclination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil all the time.

Genesis 6:6: The LORD was grieved that he had made man on the earth, and his heart was filled with pain.

His heart wouldn't have been filled with pain if he knew that ''man'' would sin.

Genesis 6:7 : So the LORD said, "I will wipe mankind, whom I have created, from the face of the earth—men and animals, and creatures that move along the ground, and birds of the air—for I am grieved that I have made them.
All these after men have made the choice to do evil. You know free will. Even after wiping them out, what happened? Did the earth go back to being free without sin?

why do you guys always you human actions to explain or justify the actions of your all powerful, all knowing god, yet on the other hand you say ordinary people can never understand him, why use ordinary human ways of doing things to explain your god but turn around and claim that people have to have some spiritual element of understanding before the can understand your god? you just can't have it both ways.

did god know that Adam and eve will eat the apple?
We were made in his image, and if I use God's ways to explain it to you will you understand? No, so what's the point of explaining things to someone if I know they won't understand me. Why ask a question if you do not want an explanation?

Ordinary things do explain God, we tend to over think things a lot, and you tend to assume things about people. Ordinary people with their ordinary ways understand God. Those who view themselves as extraordinary are the ones that tend not to understand God. Humility is a virtue.
There is a spiritual element that is needed to understand God, however this element is not so difficult or so out of reach.
Simple things can be used to explain God. For example to explain what the Trinity may resemble, one can look at a shamrock. It is three leaves in one, it is three and yet of the same leaf. So is the Trinity. Three persons, yet of the same essence.

Stop assuming things about God. Ordinary people understand him, ordinary things explain him. Just because you can't understand the ordinary doesn't mean it isn't what it is.

Christianity EtcRe: How To Brainwash The Christian Way. by Lady2(f): 12:08am On Sep 18, 2008
One little step forward. so you agree that one's presence is not required in order to study the past.

Clearly you do not know a great deal about science. Roughly speaking, it is a systematic methodology for investigating nature. It does not claim perfection, but that does not mean that it cannot get close to it.

In my previous career as a design engineer we designed and build engineering installations from Nuclear power station, offshore platform, etc using the value of pi = 3.14 and g=10. These were perfectly good and safe design. However, these are not the precise values of these parameters, but those approximations were good enough to be useful.

So too are many areas of science. What is the precise mass of a hydrogen atom? Well no one know, I suppose, but we have an approximation good enough to allow the design of nuclear reactors, X-ray machines, etc, etc.

Using the same techniques, we can derive good enough approximations of the past. And science is honest and cautious enough to say just that. Hence, the tentative nature of the description you posted.

Have you ever heard of radiometric dating (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radiometric_dating)? RD are particularly accurate (not precise. I hope you understand the distinction) at determining dates in the distant past. Carbon dating has a limit to about 100000 years and beyond that RD is used.

Have you ever heard of a phenomena called magnetism? It too can be used to study the history of the earth. The earth has an enveloping magnetic field, which permanently leaves its imprints on rocks as the solidify from say, lava. Studying the orientation of magnetisation in rock it is possible to trace the positions and movement of rocks over the crust of the earth.

Man, do yourself a favour and educate yourself, rather than drinking from the cesspit of religion and the bible.
Oh dear, if you are able to understand this, how are you not able to understand faith. You too are going by faith in sceince. You have experienced it to be somewhere around the truth, so why is it so hard for you to believe that we too have experienced God to be the truth. It's not like we're saying we know everything about him, no we're going off of the findings or evidences revealed to others in the past. Just as you are going off of evidences by others in the past.
Some of us are going by witnesses, and some are going by being those witnesses ourselves. I happen to be one going by being a witness myself. So just as you have your evidences I too have my own evidence.

By the way dear I know about evolution. I kinda hated being in class though, but you know everyone hates classes, well the most of us anyway.
I chose to believe in God. I know evolution to not be a fact but educated guesses, and a if this is resembles that, then therefore the origin of that must be from this. But it doesn't mean in the least that it is fact, but ideas put together to quench the curiousity of others or at least make them think they've answered the questions of the universe.
As scientists are busy trying to understand the universe so are theologians busy trying to understand the Supreme Being and His connection to the world.
Science has it's mysteries that it is trying to solve so I don't know why you all have a problem with the mysteries of Christianity. It's not like you all have science all figured out.
So before you point a finger check yourself.
Christianity EtcRe: Moral Victory: Religious Exploitation, And The New American Creed by Lady2(f): 11:49pm On Sep 17, 2008
This simply won't happen. Isn't it obvious where this guy is coming from? He is not interested in seeking the Truth. He is embittered, he has been damaged in some way or the other and he is just expressing his hurt. Victims will always express themselves by Lashing out at whatever and whoever, even if you're just being nice to him. Have you ever tried to reach out to a dog that has been brutally abused? Right, it'll bite your hand off, even if you were just consoling it. It is the same with humans. Most bullies are actually victims themselves.
I know. But they are human, and I am sure deep down somewhere is a boy with a heart. All humans have a heart, and I truly believe so. Just because someone bullies me does not mean I have to bully them back.
We are all created with a great capacity to love even if we want to supress it. It always creeps up on us. Whether Huxley wants to face it, he has a heart and he too can love.
Christianity EtcRe: Questions For Christains by Lady2(f): 11:42pm On Sep 17, 2008
Yes am an 100% pure atheist. How can you tell me to understand God by faith? You trying to tell me to delude myself? To use my imagination to see God? Well sorry, i need solid evidence i can't fool myself like you and other believers.
You don't have to understand God if you don't want to. If you feel that you need solid evidence then that's fine, besides there's been too many solid evidence in the world for you not to know. Instead of accepting it as it is, which is reality, you choose to use your own power and mind to explain it. If then you fail to explain it, instead of accepting it, you refuse to because you already believe that until your own mind understands it and can explain it, it won't be true. So nothing is ever going to be true until it is explainable by you.

Even if I start to give you a testimony of being an eyewitness, you won't believe it until you see for yourself. But what you fail to realise is that the eye can be deceiving and so can the mind.

God didnt know if they were going to sin becasuse He created them with a free will.

Makes sense?
Actually because we have free will does not mean that God doesn't know what we will do. He allows us to do what we want to do because of free will, but that doesn't mean he doesn't know what we will do.
So ask God to show you a sign, if you truly want to believe.

Let me enlighten you on something, you're not the only one, you are not the first, and you won't be the last. Even one of Jesus' disciple didn't believe until he saw Jesus himself.

John 20:24-29
24Now Thomas (called Didymus), one of the Twelve, was not with the disciples when Jesus came. 25So the other disciples told him, "We have seen the Lord!"
But he said to them, "Unless I see the nail marks in his hands and put my finger where the nails were, and put my hand into his side, I will not believe it."
26A week later his disciples were in the house again, and Thomas was with them. Though the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said, "Peace be with you!" 27Then he said to Thomas, "Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe."

28Thomas said to him, "My Lord and my God!"

29Then Jesus told him, "Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed

So see you're not the only one, sometimes all you have to do is ask. If you truly want to understand and believe, you can ask for it. Trust me it won't be a 'whoosh' feeling, but somehow you will know.
Sometimes it is not meant for you to believe at that particular time, and it may be that the time came and you didn't recognise it, and you turned God away.
You really do have power, but sometimes we give ourselves too much credit, I think the word for that is PRIDE.

But ma'am I have encountered former atheists, and believe me there is nothing new under the sun. So don't think you're questions haven't been heard before. For something you believe does not exist, you spend too much time on it.
Christianity EtcRe: Questions For Christains by Lady2(f): 11:24pm On Sep 17, 2008
why did'nt god just forgive him then? why does he forgive people now and refused to forgive adam then? does it make any sense to you?. . . . .
1) They didn't ask for forgiveness, they didn't even accept responsibility for their actions, they both shifted blame. Eve shifted blame to Adam, and Adam to the devil.
2) Even when someone accepts the wrong doing they still make it right. If someone murders a person, the victim's family can forgive, but that doesn't mean the murderer shouldn't go to jail or pay the price for the sin or wrong doing.
PoliticsRe: Kaduna State To Produce Fuel From Sugarcane by Lady2(f): 11:15pm On Sep 17, 2008
producing energy from landfill gas and animal dump(something abundant in Nigeria) seems like a better idea. in a time of food scacity, i'm not exactly a fan of diverting sugar-cane to fuel.
Darn, you beat me to it. Let us not use food to power things before we use it to feed. It should be the other way round.
Christianity EtcRe: How To Brainwash The Christian Way. by Lady2(f): 7:02pm On Sep 16, 2008
I beg your pardon for my brashness, but your statement "Seriously the lack of reasoning of 'intelligent' people amazes me." got me riled.
Now you know how Christians or religious people feel when you attack, them. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. If you feel you will be riled by such statements and you do not approve of such statements then don't make them about someone else. Once again do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

I take it you want to learn about evolution; Ok, let me start by asking you a few basic scientific questions. Bear in mind that TTE is a vast subject and cannot be cover adequately in a forum such as this. Nor am I fully qualified as a biologist to discuss the intricacies of the subject. Anyway, here we go;
Yeah, ah crap, I am late for class. I will return possibly tomorrow. So be on the look out.

Christianity EtcRe: Moral Victory: Religious Exploitation, And The New American Creed by Lady2(f): 6:54pm On Sep 16, 2008
I made reference to the Catholic doctrine of Indulgences (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indulgence) only in so far as it was a means by which the church exploited the masses.

If you have so much respect for the Catholic church, why did they execute so grevous a crime? Why have they abandoned this doctrine? Does that imply that there was something wrong with it?
Please refrain from making any references with the Catholic Church when you lack an understanding of it.
As for indulgences, it has not been done away with. What happened was wrong and that was not what indulgences were meant for. Unfortunately instead of people to learn about what it really is, they rely on information from a time when that thing was highjacked.
What happened with the indulgences is teh equivalent of what some Christian ministers do today to the masses, however it doesn't mean that what they do is what Christianity is about. It is only a distortion from those ministers.
Indulgences are graces from God and were never to be sold. The selling of indulgences was wrong and a greedy way for some people in the Church to make money, it was done by some Bishops in one area, and was not known for a while that this was happening. When Martin Luther rang an alarm about it, that's when everyone found out the wrongdoings of those Bishops. However wrong the Bishops were does not mean that indulgence was meant to rip the people of their money. It isn't a money thing, it is a grace thing. It more of a prayer, unfortunately some bad seeds in the Church used it for something else.

Now please understand this about Christianity, just because someone calls themselves a Christian does not mean that they are, and because someone is a Christian does not mean that they are perfect. No human being is perfect.
To go around and pointing finger is wrong on your part, because you know very well that you have done many wrong things in your life, and you are being hypocritical.

If you really want to learn about Christianity then approach it from the view of learning and not the view of condemnation. For example when I learned about evolution I did not appraoch it from the view of it is wrong, wrong, wrong, and neither does the Church. The Church does not view creationism as a fact, and I believe a lot of Christians and non christians are not aware of that.
If you want to address the issue of the Bible, please keep it in mind that the Bible was not written as a literal book or a history book to record facts and all that, it is meant to send a message. I don't think there were enough resources to start writing down, the framework of each individual that walked the earth, and which animal that walked the earth, these people were not scientists or historians or fact finding and keeping people. These were nomads, and we know that they exist today, just take a look at the fulani people in Nigeria. if you're also going to read the Bible you have to know that the Bible was written in different languages in different times, and it is written to a particular people, the way the communicated at those times are different from the way that we communicate today, and the meanings of words have evolved after centuries, so when reading it you don't read the word and use the meaning of today, but you use the meaning of back then. This is why it is good to know the history of these books, and the contexts it was written in and the people it was written to, and it is mostly of symbolism.

So please don't use your own explanations to understand the Bible. Don't look for a factual book, because it is not. You wil not find a list of all the people who were on earth at that time. You will only get those that are relevant to the message. So there is no census of the people that walked the earth. Also for the Noah story, I don't know if it covered the whole earth, no one really knows that, but for those who are still searching my response is don't judge in a human way what is done in a divine mystery. If you want you can accept it if not don't accept it, but please let us all rest in peace. No one is stopping your from doing your research.
But the story was written for a particular people in a particular time, don't look at it from the view of today.
As for whether there is a God, there have been too many miracles that have happened even in our age for there to be disbelieve that a Supreme Being exists. I particularly remember the miracle of the sun where a lot of atheists became believers. It took place in Fatima, Portugal. It's too much information for me to type here, so if you want to know more about it, then do research on it.

Approaching people as if they're evil will get you no where, and in case you don't know, you catch more flies with honey. Attacking people's beliefs and disrespecting them is no way to get them to understand you and your view. It also wouldn't hurt for you to take a step back and try to see the other person's view.

Please be specific and don't put all Christians in one boat, thanks. When you stop generalising and actually learn about Christianity, then you will be able to eliminate some of your rantings.
