Akinwale Arobieke (born July 1961),[1] known locally in North West England as Purple Aki, is a convicted Nigerian criminal from Liverpool, United Kingdom.
He was widely believed to be an urban legend until his imprisonment in 2001. He was well known as a "bogeyman" in the area, with stories of his activity reaching as far as Wigan, Greater Manchester, Rhyl and Doncaster, South Yorkshire.
Arobieke has a highly distinctive and intimidating appearance: he is a 6 ft 5 in (200 cm) tall bodybuilder who weighs 20 stone (130 kg).[2][3] His activities are sexually motivated, a fact which was recognised in 2006 by Liverpool Magistrates' Court, when Merseyside Police successfully applied to them for a Sexual Offences Prevention Order.

In the late 1980s a young man named Gary Kelly was electrocuted at New Brighton railway station, allegedly whilst running away from Arobieke. Arobieke was convicted of his manslaughter, but successfully appealed the conviction on the grounds that he had not acted unlawfully by 'standing on the platform and looking into trains'.[5]

He appeared in court on 22 November 2001, pleading not guilty to fifty counts of indecent assault and harassment against fourteen teenage boys between February 1995 and September 2000. He was convicted of threatening behaviour and was jailed for thirty months.[6]

Released in 2003, Arobieke resumed his activities and was quickly arrested and charged with fifteen counts of harassment. During the course of the trial 123 people were interviewed by police, including one family who were forced into the Witness Protection Programme as a result of threats from Arobieke. This led to Arobieke being additionally charged with witness intimidation. On 15 December 2003 he was jailed for six years by Preston Crown Court, pleading guilty to the charges. When sentencing Arobieke, Judge Slinger said: "You are a danger to young men and your behaviour is both strange and obsessive".

Hes 47 and hes like 6 foot 5. Do we need to wait for him to rape someone or seriously hurt them before locking the madman away? I just think his previous victims were lucky to be young able bodied men who could run away. He needs some form of permenant care God knows what family he has.

Purple Aki. See how they are maliciously defaming an innocent Nigerian? Just because someone is obsessed about body building, they call him a perv.

The man is NOT sectionable under the British Mental Health Act of 1985, the act that empowers Psychiatrists and the Law to deprive mentally ill people of their liberty in the UK. The Mental Health Act tries to balance between the safety of the public and the human rights entitlements of the individual by doing a comprehensive assessment of the immediate risks the individual poses to the public and his needs as well.  It's because of this Act that a lot of people who have been diagnosed with mental illness live in the community, irrespective of what their neighbours think!

This man most likely has a learning disability, but even that is not enough to lock him up.  Being an 'olodo' who likes to touch peoples muscles, shouldn't be enough to get oneself locked up for good, should it?
This is his 72nd crime its clear hes not ok. I guess he needs to rape someone before someone does something.

Why is he not sectioned in a mental hospital? huh

A man has been jailed for 18 months for breaking a ban on approaching young men and touching their muscles.

Akinwale Arobieke, 47, formerly of Toxteth, Liverpool, and known as "Purple Aki", was given a Sexual Offences Prevention Order last year.

But two months later he approached a 17-year-old boy and tried to touch his biceps, Liverpool Crown Court was told.

The order was imposed on Arobieke after he was jailed for six years in 2003 for 16 counts of harassment.

His reputation has spread across north-west England where he is known by the nickname "Purple Aki" and is considered by many to be an urban myth, the jury was told.

Bench presses

His latest victim, now aged 18, said he was left feeling "frightened and sick" after Arobieke followed him in Birkenhead in June last year.

He asked the boy how many bench presses he could do.

The boy told the court: "He pointed to my arms and asked if he could see.

"He then lifted his hand towards my biceps and I realised who it was. I backed away and told him I had to go.

"I felt sick and walked away as fast as I could. I went to a friend's house and looked back but he had gone."

Bodybuilder Arobieke had pleaded not guilty.

It was his second breach of the order and his 72nd offence since 1980, the judge was told.

Its not hate Sisterwoman but you dont need to make people in already bleeped up situations feel any worst. Osisi for example is married and her marriage as far as we know is solid and strong but it sounds normal we dont get mad outbursts of how amazing her husband is every 45secs.

On a serious note I really panic when people in "love" get tattoos of each others names, talk about each other 24/7 to other people like there is no other subject. Declare their love 34585040359349 times a day honestly it all ends up doomed in the end. And this your greencard loff. . .Imma bitch I know its just reality

*sigh*

IyaKadijat:
Thank you for that. But both my parents were never really there for me. I've been on my own since I was 17 years old-my Mom chose her husband over her kids and eventually kicked both of us out for no reason. I guess she was just done with being a mother, who knows? She was only 14 when she had me and 19 when she had my brother, so I can attribute her craziness to that. And my dad loves the bottle more than he loves anything in this world now. I keep in touch with both of them-but at a arms distance. We don't even live in the same state and I'd like to keep it that way. Luckily, I do have supportive Aunts, Uncles, and cousins to keep me grounded.

I still don't know how I feel about the whole sex before marriage being a sin thing-so I won't get into that now. But I will say that I was not ready to have a baby back then-I had just started college and I wasn't exactly happy about it, but saw it as a blessing and had her anyway. Especially because I constantly bled during my pregnancy and was in and out of the hospital-one doctor even told me to not get used to this pregnancy, because I wouldn't be able to keep it-so Kadijat is truly my miracle baby.

Yes he took advantage of me-I know that now. But I can't keep looking backwards-I can only take what I've learned and use it for the future. This won't ever happen to me again, trust me.
Black people have got to do better. Glad you have good aunts and uncles.
